Fun fabulous wine selection all organized in regions. I like that. I gathered my goodies here. Nuts and seeds apples and orangss. Great selection of ingredients if you like to snack.

How can you give somewhere that you can drink craft brews while grocery shopping anything less than 5 stars? Always has great produce, and an amazing selection of cheeses! Regular grocery items are maybe a little pricey, but I’m not usually shopping for crackers or lunch meat there so I don’t mind. You can also get a coffee to drink for free while shopping, if you’re not in the mood for beer.

Any place that I can drink a draft beer and grocery shop gets 5 starts. But seriously their produce is amazing. They have veggies you can’t find anywhere else. Great wine selection. Love the soups, dips, etc. I just love everything about this place!

Love Horrocks for the massive amounts of produce, the soup/​salad/​sandwich bar, the beer & wine bar (have a beer while you shop. Why not?), and the products they sell that you simply cannot find anywhere else. I was addicted to the cinnamon yogurt pretzels at one time in my life — I would eat the entire container as soon as I would get them. They have fantastic deals on plants once in a while too, usually when they are on the verge of dying, but if you have a green thumb you can spring them back to life.

LOVE LOVE LOVE Horrocks! The personal customer service, great selections and unique products from specialty cheeses, wine, and the fresh flowers are beyond affordable.

The morels you are selling are ROTTEN. The same ones for well over a month, and the price keeps going up. I love everything else about your store, but come on! You cannot expect people to buy and consume those.

Wow, great selection of flowers. I came in looking for peonies but they had none. Employees were really nice and very skilled. No way I could tie a bow and arrange flowers like they can.

I’ve heard about this place for years but I hadn’t ever stopped by until today. I won’t wait years to come back, this place is amazing! The produce selection is great, there are outdoor nurseries with beautiful trees and shrubs, the cheese selection is impressive yet inexpensive, there is a fantastic olive bar, they have a BAR inside the store and their carts have drink holders so you can have a nice glass of wine while you shop. I will definitely be back. This is what every grocery store should be.

A weekend must. This is the best grocery store in Battle Creek. Diane, Marty, Lauren Dave and Angel always make it a pleasure to shop here.

If you love specialty cheeses and spices this is the place. They also have a salad bar inside for a quick lunch.

Some employees are nice, others are just indifferent, not friendly but aside from the employees, this place has a variety goods! If you are into ethnic cooking or healthy eating, this is the place! Has beautiful plant is too. Free coffee and samples! Nice restrooms

Love their selection of jams, jellies, and other «canned» items. Nice sugar free options. Priced very well. Nice selection of fruit, cheese, etc. Lots of specialty items that you can’t done other places. Definitely worth the trip if nearby.

I joined Unilocal to find and review restaurants exclusively, but I’m going to make an exception here. I love this store/​market! Every couple of months, I spend ⁹⁄₁₀ days in Battle Creek and make a trip to Horrocks pretty much every day. Other reviewers have mentioned everything from the floral section to the beer to the bulk food — all very impressive — so I’d like to mention a couple of other aspects of the place. The walk-​in refrigerated section has everything from cured meats to locally produced yogurt drinks. Truly excellent! They also have, as they should, an amazing selection of fresh produce as well as a nice little gardening section. Hmmm, I’m starting to wish I was in town.

Horrcks has a great beer and wine selection! If your not sure what to get, head to the wine bar Friday and Saturdays for wine and beer samples. Besides the important stuff, there are lots of other awesome foods to pair with your drinks.

HIGHLY recommended! Amazing beer and wine selection. groceries/​produce. landscaping supplies. bird feeders/​food. trees/​shrubs. and OF COURSE the most different types of selections of cheese I have ever seen. They usually have samples out as well :)

Now that I live in Austin, TX I miss this place tremendously. I believe most of the produce is from some of the local farms in Michigan. Michigan is known for there crops so the selection is impeccable and very fresh. The floral department is the best in town. You can hand select what flowers you want in your flower arrangement. Nothing is better than customizing your own floral arrangement, it adds such a personal touch. When I lived in Battle Creek over five years ago I shopped here for all my gardening needs… including plants, supplies, etc. I came to Michigan recently for a visit and stopped at Horrocks. I was amazed in the selection of plants they had to offer. They even had blueberry plants to sell. I thought to myself that if I still lived in Michigan I’d buy this and plant it because blueberries are my favorite!
They also have a really good beer and wine department. I didn’t purchase any at my last trip here but just browsing made it very tempting. They pretty much have every Michigan beer and wine they have to offer. What I love is that if you wanted to buy one beer bottle, you can, verses buying a six pack. It’s a great way of trying different types since Michigan has some amazing breweries. Something I did not try but noticed at my recent visit here was that they opened a bar area to sit and try different wines and beers. Which is always a nice to do.
Another great thing about Horrocks, they offer some great samples for you to try and they offer a complimentary small coffee while you are shopping. Really love and miss this place. Great small town market with great service, and an endless selection of produce and groceries to choose from. Nothing beats the prices too. Everything is fairly priced, if not, better!

If you’re interested in Cajun food, tropical produce, Polish sausages, bulk rice and beans, wine and bulk candy, Horrocks is the place for you!
If you want to stay lively while browsing carefully, there’s a special counter with different varieties of coffee for the customers.
I have been noticing more positive changes in Horrocks Market lately. Everything the store sells is on the MAIN FLOOR, which is very mobility-​friendly for those who can’t walk or climb stairs.
Also, there’s a bigger florist and greenhouse section than there used to be. If you’re looking for perennials like coniferous tree seedlings, fruit trees and berry bushes, Horrocks has quite the variety in the springtime!
My mother bought a Red Haven and a Hale Haven peach tree in 2010, and the Red Haven produced an abundant harvest of peaches for our family after settling in!

The floral department is off the hook with a great selection in their walk in cooler.
Looking for Michigan Wines? This is the place.
The bulk candy, dried fruit, nut and seed aisle is nirvana.
World’s best market? Certainly in the top 10.

Now that I live in Chicago, I MISS this place. I came here a number of times growing up for flavored syrups, a to die for bulk candy selection, gardening stuff, or to create gorgeous flower arrangements for the high school drama department.
Horrocks is an amazing place to go for specialty items and the best flowers. Pre-​made bouquets are well priced or you can consult the floral department and all their ribbon/​balloons. OR, best yet, create your own with one of the biggest single stem selections I’ve ever seen. Buckets upon buckets of roses, carnations, hydrangeas, tulips, daises, baby’s breath (if that floats your boat), lilies, etc, (too many more to name). Top it off with a great selection of free enclosure cards and the plastic sticks they sit on and you have a beautiful custom creation at a budget friendly price.
