My husband and I have ordered delivery here twice and the food is pretty good– probably the best in Bay Ridge, but the prices are a pretty high to be honest. For example, I ordered a vegetable spring roll, it was $ 3.25. It was good– but definitely not worth that price. Maybe if I had gotten 2 for that amount or if it was larger it wouldn’t be so bad. All in all the food is good and the delivery is fast– they also give you chocolate fortune cookies which is cool– but I really do feel that they are overpriced.

This place is great. My boyfriend and I order in from here frequently but we have had a great experiences at the restaurant too. Service is great and delicious food. We love the sweet and sour chicken and steamed chicken dumplings. I got the beef and broccoli recently and thought it was on point! We are so glad to have found a nice Chinese restaurant in our neighborhood. Also, one awesome detail: the fortune cookies are chocolate. Also, always good tunes, which is a plus. Definitely recommend!

Funny that some reviews have pictures. Does anyone else think that this is suspicious for a review, like maybe the business did it? And the ones with pictures have 5 stars? Anyway, I haven’t eaten their food yet but I’ve been a big fan a Lai Yueng for many years. I hope to try it soon but did notice the prices on their menu are outrageous. Funny how no one mentioned that. I’ll still try the lunch and if still good, I’ll just get my dinner early so I don’t pay a fortune for Chinese food. Gave two stars because of high prices. I don’t know why they only got TWO $$ because they are very expensive.

Food was good but service was lacking. Waiter brought the check over only to have us wait 25 minutes before we had to bring the check back to him asking if we could pay! Would order takeout but dine-in isn’t worth it.

Don’t waste your money. Wasn’t ever the best, but last few time have been very disappointing. Food is just ok but service has definitely slipped. Shame had a lot of promise. Don’t think we’ll be back any time soon.

Had dinner last Saturday food was the best, service was amazing. The new manager, Armand is doing an amazing job. It just goes to show you losing Dave was a positive thing. The fried dumplings are a must. Peking Duck was delicious. The best chinese food in Brooklyn

I was a huge fan of Lai Yuen. Xin is Lai Yuen 2.0. The best chinese food in Brooklyn the past 15 years just in a new beautiful location. I eat in or take out from Xin twice a week since they have opened. Most of the staff came from the old spot. Very friendly, very courteous. One of the waiters took our order buy memory one afternoon for a lunch. Party of 8 and not one order came out wrong. Entire menu is Fantastic! Must get apps are the fried dumplings and the best boneless chinese ribs I’ve ever eaten. My two favorite entrees are the orange beef and the filet mignon medallions over bok choy. Excellent! Even coming in from Staten Island it’s worth the toll.

Can’t comment on the food as we stood in the entrance at the top of the stairs looking at a paper menu for five minutes without being addressed by the 3 – 4 people who passed by, thus not getting to try it out.

I used to be a big fan of Xin. But not anymore. Ever since Dave left the food and service hasn’t been the same. It’s very upsetting to me because this was one of my favorite spots in bay ridge. It just goes to show you that management is everything. Do yourself a favor and don’t bother…

I’ve come here so much over the past year but I guess the management must have switched because the service and atmosphere is not the same. Service was horrible the last time, they were totally turned around, couldn’t figure out how to seat us(party of 3…) and the staff all looked flustered and uninterested in what was going on in their restaurant. Food was also not as great this time, unfortunate but looks like things took a turn for the worse here.

Gorgeous atmosphere. Good food. Entrees are large portions. Waiters are very nice but slow service. They have a full bar yet don’t have a cocktail menu. Got Sesame Shrimp & the shrimp were HUGE and I loved that, it was tasty but it had too much sweetness for my liking. They give you fried noodles with duck sauce and mustard for free, mustard is way too spicy in my opinion. I would add more salt to the food personally(especially in the wanton soup) & lessen the sweetness in the entrees.

Ordered chicken and broccoli and pan fried chicken dumplings. Thought that was pretty safe and hard to jack it up. Chicken was mushy, broccoli was too. The dumplings were actually the worst i have ever tasted. Chicken inside was bland and over cooked. So that was the food part. I ordered at 6pm and after 5 phone calls and them telling me ‘he’s right outside.’ ‘He’s on his way.’ The food FINALLY showed up cold and extra soggy around 7:46pm. I’m not sure what took so long considering your typical takeout joint takes about thirty minutes and this didn’t hold a candle to takeout food. Don’t waste your money or time.

This place is good. The food is about 1 level up from Chinese take out and it is nice to sometimes get to sit down for Chinese. Their lunch menu is very well priced. I don’t know that I would spend the extra money it is at dinner time.

Formerly Li Yuen… The food is fresh. ordered the general tsao and chicken and broccoli and vegetable dumplings to go … Was a weeee bit disappointed that both dishes were $ 14,95 ea(not including the dumpling appetizers) and only came with 1 white rice … Luckily, I was only ordering for a 12 year old and myself. The veggie dumplings were ok… I did have them Fried… I will say that overall Xin has the freshest Chinese in town BUT since they know this they have jacked up the prices! There’s no reason to spend $ 47 on take out for dumplings, General Tsao’s and chicken and broccoli. No drinks … No dessert! I have dined in and had a few beverages which were loaded! The décor and ambiance was nice … There’s a long wait for a table on weekends so go early!

While the décor is beautiful, everything else was subpar. Food was not much different or better than take-out(just paying a lot more). They do give you a big portion, but that is pointless if you aren’t even enjoying what you are eating. Service was decent. My husband and I came here twice… after the first time, we decided to give it a second chance. After the second time last night, we will most likely not return.

Looks can be deceiving. Food looked great but didn’t taste it. My general Tso’s tasted like they used frozen chicken, not good. The fried wontons were tasty, and the only thing i liked. Service was great, but where Xins really let me down is in authenticity, or any attempt for it(in my opinion). Xin isn’t a Chinese word or name — as i was told by our asian server. Name aside, the 1950’s american big band music that played during my entire meal(felt like i was in a diner) is what really drove me crazy and had me regretting our decision to come here for Chinese food. Though as we sat there and noticed the clientele, the choice in music started to make more sense. If you don’t mind watered down americanized Chinese food and atmosphere this might be the place for you.

Where do I begin… First I was told that we had to eat quickly because it was close to closing time, if that’s the case don’t seat us… the food was ehh… I mean it was ok but I can get better Chinese food at HAHA in BayRidge … It would have cost less than half the price and would have been way better… Their pricing is all whacked out, I payed $ 4 for a single tiny spring roll and $ 10 for a duck appetizer dish that three people could have shared. Anyway I will not be going back there and I do not recommend going there. Sorry guys but it’s just mediocre Chinese food at best.

Was just here last night to see what the buzz is all about. I was here with some friends around 9:30pm and the restaurant was extremely busy. This was one of the upscale looking Chinese restaurants with table cloth, glasses and silverware. They even had an open bar which is a cool touch. On with the service: it was extremely slow and we felt ignored half the time. They could not get our drinks in time, let alone, take our drink orders without my friend raising her hand for about 10 mins. The food was good, although the selection or ingredients lacked amusement. It wasn’t too different compared to the average Chinese take out at the corner of the street serving food at half the price they do here. The 4 stars was for good food and a good time. The waiter was also trying to be funny which was much appreciated.

Exactly what bay ridge needed a great Chinese restaurant. Food was great, with an even better atmosphere. Quality Chinese food, this is the place!

I went here with a friend on a Thursday night. This place is an upscale Chinese restaurant, but not very expensive. I like that they have a full bar. The food and service were both very good. We ordered boneless spare ribs, chicken and broccoli, and vegetable chow fun. We shared everything and enjoyed it all. For dessert, I thought it was interesting that they have Italian desserts. They had things like tartufo and canoli shells that you dip into the cream. They also had cappuccinos and espressos. Overall, good experience and pretty décor. I will definitely return!
