Bayonne’s Chicken Shack

This is what happens when you hire ghetto trash to run your business. Bayonne is a very sad sad town as all of their businesses have failed miserably. I have never lived in a town where you couldn’t buy mens dress shoes for work or even anything slightly resembling anything business professional unless you traveled 30 to 50 mins in the neighboring towns. If you attempt to order from this place, you get the nastiest idiots ever. They even take their phones off the hook 2 hrs before they close so they won’t have to deal with you. I mean, I don’t give a shit as we can order from any place on the globe thanks to grub hub and many other places online. The few times we were able to get thru to these idiots, the food was beyond a joke. I guess Bayonne is doomed to A-​holes like the such.

Delivery guy was so nice, but I’d never order from here again. I had the 8 piece shrimp with cornbread, cole slaw, and corn on the cob. Also had the oreo mousse cake.
The shrimp was over fried & rubbery. The cornbread was really a corn muffin that tried but failed. Corn on the cob looked like it had been soaking in dirty water I didn’t even take a bite out of it. The Oreo mousse cake seemed kind of old with a layer of aged cake on the top.
Just gross.

Ordered from them via seamless, didn’t arrive until 1 hour after estimated time, cold. Terrible delivery service

I don’t know what the other review is about. I called and placed an order last Friday night at 8:35. I got two dinners and waffles with no problem. The food was great and will order from there again.

I tried to order from here through Grubhub tonight and received a call from Grubhub about 45 minutes later saying that the restaurant had called them and said they were all out of everything I ordered. Mind you, I ordered 2 items: the fried chicken and the ribs. The fact that they were seemingly out of the 2 food items that their restaurant is focused around by 8:30 p.m. on a Saturday is probably a bad sign. I wish they would have let me know earlier because now I have to wait for delivery from a different restaurant. Bad form all around.

This place is pretty okay. It’s nothing special, but exactly what it says it is, which is more than can be said for other restaurants in town. One of my favorite parts of the meal I ordered sadly was this tiny cornbread muffin I paid $ 1.25 for. Their BBQ Ribs are decent, a little dry, but nice flavor. The Mac n Cheese was a no go for me., super greasy and big chunks of over cooked cheese on some plain macaroni, short of the grease and black pepper the whole thing is rather tasteless. The cornbread which I’ve already tapped on is actually good, but tiny and obviously the kind you could make at home in a little muffin pan. I wished it was an adult sized serving, but it’s hard to mess up cornbread so good job there. Overall I’d order again, trying different side dishes. I don’t have high expectations for Bayonne food but I always half hope someone will surprise me. Still waiting.
