Lighthouse Restaurant

This place is horrible, the food was a two on a 1 to 10 scale, omelette was very thin, the side of pancakes was over $ 5 an order, REALLY. The waiter was extremely rude on a number of occasions, table was being cleared before we were done, actually the bus boy waited tableside till I took my last two bites, do yourself a favor and go to any other diner Bayonne, 8^th st, Jersey city or even McDonalds! Over $ 30 for two meals for breakfast, just crazy.

Breakfast experience was fabulous! Can’t wait to go back and try their lunch/​dinner menu. Service and staff make you feel very comfortable and like at home. Definitely reccomend and support this local business. Bayonne’s pearl right in the center.

I have only eaten breakfast here so I can only speak on that but this is my favorite diner in town. Never had a complaint.

The only reason for two stars is decent service. This place serves some of the worst food I’ve ever eaten. They should cut down the menu a bit.
The soup was like hot watery sodium with large bow tie pasta. Mozzarella sticks looked and tasted like they had some kind of soft spreadable cheese inside that didn’t get stringy, melt very well or were just really cheap and old. The turkey club sandwich, bacon was good but barely there, too much turkey that was a weird color and texture so I just didn’t eat it. Also, fries are just bland and under seasoned.
It’s cheap but not worth it wasting a meal here either way.

Excellent breakfast place. I have eaten breakfast here a few times and it has always been spot on. Breakfast special of two eggs, meat, home fries, toast, coffee and juice is $ 6.75. My eggs were cooked correctly, home fries were crispy as per my request, sausages were very tasty. Service was excellent (Maria was always there with coffee and checking to make sure everything was ok). Have only had breakfast there so I can’t vouch for other food, but I would highly recommend.

love going to this place. It is great to walk to or a quick car ride. Enjoy the eggs Benedict and usually order it for breakfast. The roasted chicken special as well as the turkey burger are delicious.

I only come here for the coffee. Not a big fan of the food :(I had high expectations because my friend recommended it and told me I HAVE TO go. Their toast is good though lol 0. o

I am just so angry with The Lighthouse right now. I am a regular customer here. I was asked by a co-​worker to call in a pick-​up order. As it was not my order I didn’t want to make a mistake so I had yelled off to him to confirm what he said. I guess the woman thought that I had put the phone away from my ear but I did not and she says «Oh God, have your order ready before you call it in» So I politely asked, if I was bothering her and she ignored me and I asked again and she said «Oh no, I was talking to someone else.» I said «No I don’t think you were and that is very rude.» Moral of my story– not only do they show you the pick up fee on their receipt they are extremely rude for pick up orders you just never know who is on the other end of the phone. I may be boycotting them for this.

Just stopped in for a bite to eat while waiting to board our ship. Food was ok, but our waitress Nicole was awesome. She was very attentive, and went out of her way to be helpful. She saw my cell phone charger wasn’t working and graciously offered me hers to use. Prices are average, food was ok (fruit cup wasn’t fresh though).

Wasn’t Great! i had the Cuban Panini and it was to sweet for a Cuban! They down poured alot of Honey mustard instead of putting it on the side.
Eggs Benedict was really good creamy and crunchy at the same time.
French Toast is very comforting.
DO NOT grab French Fries ever time i get the fries its not cooked all the way. I should have learned my lesson by the 4^th time ordering –_​–
Waiter Service was ok i guess. She took her sweet time taking care of us. After we ate it took about 15 mins for her to get the check when it wasn’t busy.

The last time I came to this local diner, I sat at the counter, where Iwatched the waitress handle bread with her bare hands. She then informed me that the local Department of Health DOES NOT REQUIRE THE USE OF GLOVES BY FOOD HANDLERS. That was the last time I set foot in this place.

Quite good eggs Benedict. Friendly staff. Reasonably priced place where mainly locals meet for a weekend brunch. Probably best diner in Bayonne

Wow, this place is bad…
Went with a group of 16 and got two waiters. They managed to forget ½ the orders. And it wasn’t like one of the waiters skrewed up. They both forgot orders. They claimed it was the kitchen’s fault, but who cares? It still took an hour to get my food.
One person ordered a vegetarian dish and they put chicken into it.
The waiter never came around and asked people for refills on their water. He only did it when asked and seemed surprised each time.
Food was bad, even by diner standards. At least it was cheap.

the staff goes out of their way to serve you well and the food is great… I would recommend to anyone

To be honest this place was nothing special. From the minute we walked in the door the hostess seemed to hate her job, along with our waitress. The waitress took forever to greet us and wasn’t even slightly friendly. The food was ok, and the dessert was a little stale (cake). I would have to say, if you just want a quick bite and dont really care, then this is your place, However if you want good food and great service, try the Broadway Diner on 53^rd. Great staff great food!

The Lighthouse is a good bare bones diner. Breakfast foods are best with fluffy pancakes and great sausage. The other are also good but nothing to die for.
