This is a beautiful restaurant, decorated wonderfully. It’s festive, pretty, and fun. And they have their own parking lot! Whoa!!! Unfortunately, the food and service is not the equal of their decoration and ambience. Overall, I’d say the food is bland and uninspired. The people who prepare the food are obviously doing it as a job. The food doesn’t taste as if someone takes pride in its preparation and presentation. It tastes short-order cookish, if you get my drift. I think we’ve ordered enough foods from the menu that we have a good sampling of this restaurant’s offerings. I don’t feel the need to come back and sample more. I simply don’t like this food here very much. I find it uninteresting and banal. Guacamole En Molcajete: B They make the guac table side, in front of you. It’s usually a nice show to see some waiter make tableside guac, but the waiter here had his back to us for most of the time. Honestly, the restaurants that do this should definitely«ham it up» during the guac preparation. Put on a little show to make the customers go «ooh» and«ahh». The customers will leave the restaurant talking about how«authentic» and«awesome» the guac is. Really, you missed an opportunity to dazzle us. We ordered«mild» because we had the baby with us. However, in hindsight, I think the baby would’ve been 100% OK with the non-mild version because mild was … quite mild! Take my B grade with a grain of salt. The guac here might be better if we let the waiter prepare it the way he usually does it. The molcajete was awesome — I wish I knew where they got it from. I’m jealous! Lobster Bisque: B Tasty. We enjoyed it. Steak Fajitas: B– Meat was very good: soft, tasty, cut in the proper size for a fajita. The steak itself would be an A–(being a little less lean /more fatty would’ve made it an A). The rice was flavorless. They should use things like chicken stock, saffron, garlic, cilantro(or something!) to flavor the rice, because there’s no excuse for flavorless rice. Green peppers /onions were nice — cooked well. Sometimes you get under-cooked onions with fajitas, but these were well caramelized. The tortillas were unforgivable, given that this purports to be Mexican food. They are store-bought flour tortillas, which suck. Don’t think we don’t know the difference between store-bought and home-made tortillas, cholos! If you give us flour tortillas, have the decency to make them yourself instead of ripping open a pack of Mission Food tortillas. Otherwise, please give us corn tortillas — they have more flavor. Between the flavorless tortillas and flavorless rice, there wasn’t much flavor to this dish. I’m giving it a B– b/c the steak was so good. Otherwise, these fajitas are a solid C+. Chicken Burrito(para niños): B– Non-descript. Unmemorable. Bland. Food for kids shouldn’t be picante, but it doesn’t need to be bland, either. Ceviche Sampler: D Literally the worst ceviche I’ve ever had in my life. There was no cilantro. No citrus. 100% bland. The fish had that«I’ve been refrigerated for so long that I’m now flavorless» kind of flavor. Literally tasted like nothing. I took one bite and pushed it aside. I’d rather eat nothing than this ceviche. To Tequila Sunrise’s credit, they took the dish back and didn’t charge us for it. Chile Rellenos: B– Good. It has a nice(very small) kick to it, which was unexpected and most welcome. The batter was a bit too«eggy». Presentation was lackluster. Baby Rack Of Lamb: A– Nicely done. Meat was tender and tasty. The rack had a lovely char on them, so they were cooked either in a broiler or a grill(I’m betting broiler since I didn’t see grill marks), but still, very nice. I could see ordering this again. I do wish it came with a side like rice and/or beans given the price tag.

Tequila sunrise has such good frozen drinks, but their food is not good. I don’t know if I just had a bad day, but all I got was a plain cheese quesadilla and it was SO greasy! Had no flavor besides grease, and my stomach bothered me all night. Their food is also really expensive. Their frozen margaritas come in a lot of flavors and are really good and strong. Pretty cheap too…$ 9 or 4 $ happy hour. Not bad for what you get. I would come back if I was craving a frozen drink, but besides that, no thank you.

Definitely a fan. I ordered the steak fajitas and they were delicious. The steak was cooked well, they gave plenty of tortillas and it was overall just a very good experience. The décor is a little outdated but you quickly forget when you’re eating the delicious chips and salsa they provide you when you walk in.

Sorry to say, I was not impressed. There are much better Mexican restaurants out there.

Came here despite unfavorable reviews. Sure, the décor and personnel is definitely authentic, but the food? Meh~ Oh, whoever said their margaritas were good wouldn’t know a good Margarita if it knee drop kicked him in the face. Sugary lemonade with about a teaspoon of tequila(assuming the faint taste of tequila is due to very little of it, not watered down). No, just no. I’ve worked as a bartender for 2 years. I know a shitty Margarita when I taste one. Come for the ambience and nothing else.

Went here bc a friend of ours raved about it. Did not live up to our expectations at ALL. my boyfriends steak was bland and overcooked. The sangria wasn’t that great but 2 pitchers later we were pretty lit… Would never go back.

Our waiter seemed out of it and the food took forever. The bar was busy, but we had a big table and you would think they would be attentive to a big party if only for the tip. The food was meh. Parking was also a pain in the a$$. Overall, I probably won’t be back any time soon. What a difference from my last visit.

Went there today and had a great meal. There steak fajitas were amazing, and I loved their table made guacamole. The staff was attentive and took care of us, plus they offer valet parking. You can’t loose, I definitely recommend this place.

It was a Thursday night and we came for some appetizers and drinks. The Mariachi band was playing and even took requests. We ordered the Guacamole which they make at your table. You can choose your level of spiciness. The fresh and creamy Guacamole is served with homemade tortilla chips. Super crunchy and just the right amount of salt. YUM! Our table also ordered a ceviche de mariscos and empanadas de carne. Everything was delicious! Their food is very good. Many dishes, like the chiles rellenos, remind me of my many trips to Mexico. Most importantly the margaritas!!! One the rocks or frozen, classic or flavored… you have many choices! The valet parking lot is very convenient. This location is usually very crowded. If you have to wait for your table, they have a bar where you can start with a round of drinks. Coming to Tequila Sunrise not only satisfies my hunger, but also takes me a trip down memory lane. I would definitely keep coming back here.

I don’t have much to say about this place so here it goes… It is well decorated and the waiters and staff are very nice. That’s about it. Our food had no taste whatsoever. We had the chicken & beef chimichangas. Bland! No herbs or spices whatsoever! The beef was tough like shoelaces! And the prices are outrageous for Mexican food. I prefer Chipotle and Taco Bell over this place any day. I won’t be going back to this place.

To be honest the main reason my friends and I came here was because they are able to accommodate large groups. We had a party of 15 and seating us was no problem at all. The menu averages about $ 20 per entrée which is pricey in my opinion. I ordered the Burrito Grande, which did not disappoint. Spinach wrap with generous helpings of chicken, rice, etc. served with Guac. It was filling and put me into a comfortable food coma. Drinks. There is no drink menu. A glass of sangria will run you about $ 6. A frozen margarita will run you about $ 8. A pitcher(6 glasses) of sangria is $ 35 dollars. Service. Friendly service with a personal live Mariachi band on site. If you are celebrating a birthday I recommend it because it will get lit. We stayed after a meal and chatted over some coffee for another hour and we were never bothered with the check(a huge plus for me). If you don’t mind the $$, consider this a place to have a birthday party for someone: D

Absolutely terrible food! Do not come here to eat! There are so many good restaurants in the area — spend your money there. The nachos looked like someone has already eaten them and the«shell» steak, well., noone could have possibly eaten it because it was impossible to even cut through, let along chew. AVOID!

Skirt… Steak… Well done! A very fine cut of meat grilled to perfection and served up with a side of salad. A nice 50 – 50 split right down the middle. Don’t touch those carbs! You won’t need them here. Portions are sizable. Ask the staff for their recommendation of a nice cold beverage to have with your meal, then sit back and enjoy. I wouldn’t recommend take-out only because the food is best enjoyed on site and with friends.

This place is a gem! I came here twice. The service is very good, the food is good and very authentic and they cook it very quick which is nice bc I hate waiting. You come in and the table is set with cute little gold charger plates. Then while u wait for ur food they bring out complementary chips and salsa and if u ask for more theft bring out more which is nice. I order the frozen margarita which was delicious and the chimichangas! They come with guacamole and sour cream topping and if you ask for more chips it’s like a extra appetizer. I would definitely recommend this place.

The chips, salsa and guacamole dip(7 out of 10) we had while waiting for our food. The guacamole didn’t taste too fresh and mainly had onions in it. The salsa was slightly watery, less crunchy and not spicy enough. The sangria was also strong but it wasn’t the best we’ve ever had. I ordered skirt steak, with rice and beans(delicious) & Miguel(little baby papa) order lamb, also delicious. We bother agreed that since only the main meal tasted good, It was not worth $ 96.00. So me and migmig stopped by here since we were at the shopping center down the block & had to go 3 minutes away after. I was craving guacamole & sangria!!! They have a good sized parking lot with is a +. The hostess and waiter were very friendly to us. It was about 1:15 pm when we got there & there were only one part of three there. I guess it’s acceptable since its a Tuesday and most people are at work. The service was very fast, we were able to eat & leave by 2:15!

The food is not great, nor is it very authentic but what do you expect. This is a chain restaurant afterall. I beleive the two others in New York may be related. Please correct me if I am wrong. If you are just coming out to have a few drinks then this place is suitable. You may even be able to get away with getting a small appetizer to munch on that isn’t too bad for example chips and guac but don’t even think about getting an entrée. The other Tequila Sunrise in Queens pretty much get’s the same rating. The is one more in Larchmont that could be related but that one has much nicer décor and better food when compared to the others. Larchmont is a bit out of the way for someone who lives in close proximity to the ones in Queens.

Oh Tequila Sunrise. You’ve been here on Bell for as long as i can remember yet I have not visited you in many many years. Now i realize why. Gordon Ramsey needs to come check this place out because i feel like it would be a perfect candidate for kitchen nightmares. I know im being really harsh which i rarely am but i was SO disapointed by everything from the décor, the old menus, sloppy presentation and most of all the terrible food. We first thought we would order the quacamole since that always seems safe and generally good at every mexican restaurant. The one nice thing is they make the quacamole table-side but the result is a flavorless quac. We asked for spicy and it had no spice at all, hardly any lemon and probably no salt whatsoever. Really tasteless, I personally love avocado even on its own but i wasnt looking for avocado and tomato in a bowl at that moment… Moving on. We next ordered tacos for my entrée and Matt B. ordered the chimichangas. Well, his chicken chimichangas consisisted of 3 tiny ones dressed with a bit of sour cream. They were bland and really not worth the price. For 17 $ any other mexican resturant would serve you real food, not whatever that was. As for my tacos, they were 3 tacos that looked exactly like taco bell’s beef tacos with a little bit of rice and refried beans on the side. The beef was greasy and again had no flavor and the taco shells seemed a stale. 18 $ for something that you could get for 3 $ at any fast food chain. I couldnt believe it. The 2 stars are only for the staff who were very nice and welcoming. They served everyone with a smile and everything came out quickly and orderly. Im sad to see this place go to waste. They need to revamp this location and either lower their prices or up their quality greatly because i can’t see people coming back for the food they serve here.
