My boyfriend and I went there on Saturday evening. We had an amazing and delicious dinner! The food is a little expensive but the price is worth it!

This was a return trip because my first time there, about a year ago, everything was perfect. The service, and the food, no complaints. Would have been 5 star. This time, not so much. Service was very slow. Almost seemed like they forgot about us at one point. I asked where the food was and they said it was coming up in one minute. My son got a $ 250 kobe steak that was cold. Didn’t send it back because I’m always afraid to send food back. The redeeming factor was that it was at least still delicious and everything else tasted good too, especially that bacon.

Uncle Jack’s is located on a busy block with many other food options available. I was in the mood for steak and potatoes and that’s what I was going to have. Once inside the place has a saloon/old school type vibe. Where the staff wear those velvety red vests, the curtains are thick and Sinatra gets played at least five times for the night. We were seated immediately and the service was attentive and friendly. As for the food, I had the Fred flintstone steak with the garlic mashed potatoes. The garlic mashed potatoes were seriously on point. My steak was seasoned well and the portion was huge, like it was bigger than my head. I couldn’t finish it, but I did have room for desert. I opted to go with the chocolate mousse and while the flavor was delicious, the consistency was odd. Mousse should be light and airy this was a little grainy as if the ingredients were over mixed. It tasted good so I ate it anyway. All in all it was a good dining experience and I’ll be back but finding parking here is a nightmarish ordeal.

We came here for brunch to find out that they don’t do brunch anymore on Saturday. Oh well. We had lunch, but we really ordered dinner at 12:30pm. We were the only people there. The staff was very nice and friendly. We ordered a bottle of wine(Ruffino) and some apps. LAmb chops and A special– king crab. The host gave us an order of the bacon-wrapped shrimp on the house. All 3 apps were delicious. The bacon wrapped shrimp were really really really yummy. They came with a Thai chili sauce and it was awesome. My guy had the«Flintstone» prime rib steak and I had a special, braised short rib w/polenta. Both were delicious. We ordered sautéed mushrooms and the garlic mashed potatoes. Both were good.(Mashed potatoes were room temperature) They gave us dessert on the house but we were way too full. The bill was $ 280. Pretty expensive for a lunch(really dinner) This place is expensive but solid. I really like it here.

Only 3 stars? Love this place food always great, service always good. Went on a Tuesday nite spent over $ 200.00 for 2 people, well worth it. EXCEPT they charge $ 5.00 for bread !!! I’ve never seen that in any restaurant !!!

Was here on 12÷23÷15 with my hubby for my birthday dinner. As expected, our dinner was perfect. We shared their seafood platter which was sooo good. The cocktail shrimp that came with the order was so fresh. Cost about $ 60 bux but well worth it! I ordered the filet mignon med rare, which was prepared to perfection. I also had the cream spinach and sweet potato fries as my sides. The cream spinach was very good, but the sweet potato fries was mediocre… nothing that made it stand out. I also ordered a bottle of wine which paired very well with my dinner but I wish I remember the name of it. =(. The food was as good as the service.

I called to reserve and knew from then that it was going to be great. The host asked me the occasion to make it even more special. As soon as we got there they said«Happy Birthday». I ordered the filet mignon. My boyfriend ordered the NY strip. Both were cooked perfect; to our liking. We shared garlic mashed potatoes-A MUST-GET!!! We also shared asparagus, broccoli and a bottle of wine. Everything was delicious! The place felt cozy and everyone was very friendly– not too in your business. Even though the tables are pretty close together it still felt intimate but wish the lights were a little more dim. They brought out a complimentary dessert with a HUGE candle and sung beautifully lol. Great place to go have some steak in the area. Have heard mixed reviews but we enjoyed it all!

The menu selection is fantastic. Ordered the Lamp Chops and Glazed Bacon for appetizers that was simply amazing. For dinner i had Boneless NY Strip that was cooked to perfection. My friend ordered the Prime Rib Chop(aka Fred Flintstone) which was the center of conversation and a great photo opportunity. The 5 cheese mac and cheese and garlic mash potatoes are 2 great sides to order with your meal. Will definately go back.

Stopped in on a Friday night solo. Service was good, the bussers were especially attentive and and friendly. Décor is just what you’d expect from the outside — old fashioned classic(but kind of boring) steakhouse. Wedge salad to start, hold the onion — the bacon on top was crispy and tasty, but the blue cheese was really the biggest disappointment of the evening. The consistency was watery, and had a vinegary taste(I prefer a thicker, creamy blue cheese dressing myself). The portion was huge! For my main, I had a filet mignon(ordered medium rare, cooked to about medium), a baked potato(huge, but not awesome) and a massive side of mushrooms which were absolutely amazing — without a doubt, the best element of dinner. I liked their bar area, and I’d go back to hang out for a glass of wine sometime, and maybe try an appetizer. For steak at steakhouse prices, I’ll trek to Manhattan next time.

Lunch specials make this Steakhouse hard to ignore. Staff are pros and make you feel as if you were in Manhattan. We had filet mignon sandwich, burger and wild seabass. Left ready to take on the world.

It’s a long narrow space that was probably at one time a bar, but the food is top notch, on par with their two other locations in Manhattan. Had a bottle of red, a dozen fresh clams on the half shell, the porterhouse for two(medium rare), sides of lobster mac & cheese and sauteed mushrooms. Finished off with a Chocolate Soufflé Cake with a decaf cappuccino and a shot of sambuca. Aces. All aces.

I’m going to start out with my disclaimer. I’m pretty particular when it comes to steak. From the temperature of the meat down to the juiciness of the marble-ization, that really sets the bar as to where I begin. Afterwards, service, sides and the final element — the steak sauce, come into play. So let me begin with what my two most favorite steak houses are #%^*+ ¥£€?! and Uncle Jack’s. The only separating difference will be their steak sauces. Both places are so good you don’t need steak sauce to go with the perfectly aged beef but that’s the differentiating factor for me… until today. Long story short, I wanted to book a big family celebration and amongst my top two steak houses, Uncle Jacks was the one that would be willing to accommodate the large group and cater to our palate. William Brennan the GM was very helpful and assured a spectacular night, which it was. Michael(nice name), our captain for the evenings made sure everything was perfect and it was. Everyone’s steak and seafood was cooked perfectly(mind you this was a large party of 22 people). Our wine glasses were never empty. Any request or concerns were always addressed and attended immediately. Overall it was a perfect dinner. The proteins, sides, dessert, wine, cordials… Am I leaving anything off?!? It was spectacular. Service was impeccable. It’s never easy to accommodate a large group but the whole staff and management at Uncle Jack’s made it look easy and routine. My favorite cut there and will continue to be, is the bone in Rib Eye, aka Fred Flintstone. I’ve had the porterhouse, the waygu, but I’ve always returned to the FF. Perfectly cooked all the time with the outside seared and inside done to your liking. End of the day, near perfect steakhouse(steak sauce could be a bit tangier but that’s just preference). If you’re looking for a beautiful steak meal, especially in Queens, Uncle Jack’s is the spot. If you’re still venturing throughout the 5 boroughs, give this Queens Location a try even if they have a midtown spot. I assure you will not be disappointed!!! Two words… FREDFLINTSTONE. But please, nothing cooked beyond medium rare for the sake of respect for the beef :)

We came here for dinner at 8pm, exhausted from the Billboard 100 concert and the effects of the beach-side alcohol slowly wearing off on us into a sleepy daze. We thought it was a little weird that the place was empty at this hour, but after eating here I know why. From start to finish, everything was mediocre. The crab cakes and baked clams were no bueno. I think there was more lemon and breadcrumbs than there were clams. My 8oz. filet was so bland I had to ask for steak sauce. That’s a cardinal sin in any steakhouse. It looked so nasty, like expired tomato sauce. I didn’t even bother touching it. The server then recommended truffle butter as a topping, which I agreed to, but that didn’t really do anything except tack on a $ 13 charge on our bill. The lobster mac and cheese was such a fail. The worst I’ve ever tasted. The spinach and potatoes went untouched after that. Our server had the ill mustache though. He was telling us that he’s been maintaining it for so long nobody’s ever seen his upper lips since junior high school. HA!

Everything here is perfect! Those should be 5 Michelin Stars! Service was top notch; Everyone from the hostess to the valet literally becomes your best friend by the time you are done dining. Everyone is friendly and helpful and all the staff remember and call you by your name as they help you. Nowhere else does that. Food is unlike anything else; We went to Peter Lugers a month before coming here and I thought Lugers was A class but after eating at Jack’s and putting Jack’s food on the scale with Luger’s Jack’s food is A+++ and Luger’s food drops down to a B or C. I’m not even into food or steak like most foodies but I will admit when I’ve left a Steakhouse feeling happy on all levels. Luger’s did not do it for me ‘food-wise’ the way Jack’s did. In fact everything else was better at Jacks. I’ve also been to Porter House, Capital Grille, Ruth Chris and countless other Steakhouses in the NYC area and none of those places can hold a candle to Jack’s. I think what really enhances the great tasting food is the service and attention ALL the staff bestow on you during your dining experience. Décor is not suppose to be top notch(touristy) but you get this authentic ‘Brooklyn’ neighborhood feel when you walk in. Similar to Cheers bar on that old TV show. The sites in Manhattan I’ve heard are more touristy and newer in décor but lacks that neighborhood flavor. Drinks were small and pricey but you are here to eat food not get drunk. They have a decent wine selection as well. Parking is tight in this neighborhood but the Valet guys are great.

Have been to this UJ’s a few times and they have never disappointed. So many people rave about Peter Luger’s in Great Neck but I find UJ’s to be superior, from the food to the friendliness of the staff to their service in general. I’m a huge rib eye fan and you won’t be disappointed here. Their sides, too, are all very good and sized to share so don’t go overboard and order too many or you will take away room in your belly that should be allocated for the delectable meat(s) of your choice. It’s not as big on the main floor as PL’s but additional room downstairs helps out. Parking available in the street or nearby lot. Valet, too. PL’s seems pretentious and thrives thanks to the name/fame of the Brooklyn’s PL’s location(far superior IMHO) while UJ’s delivers solid scores across the board.

Uncle Jack’s is tucked away on Bell Boulevard in Bayside. It’s got a very cozy environment and the service here is top-notch. If you’re in the area, they have a solid lunch special. It’s pricey but it’s good, 10 oz filet mignon with mashed potatoes and creamed spinach. The wedge here is decent, the oysters rockefeller are pretty good too. The best appetizer in my opinion is the kobe meatballs. There’s just meatballs in sauce but between the tenderness of the meat and the flavor in the sauce, really awesome. I don’t particularly care too much for the cote de boeuf or the other steaks. The porterhouse is good but not my favorite. The best thing here in my opinion is actually Rack of Lamb. This is all I get whenever I come here. It’s a full rack with panko breadcrumbs, white wine dijon mustard, rosemary and garlic. It’s packed full of flavor, the breadcrumbs give a nice crust and its pretty big. Oh, the apple strudel here is great too.

I really wanted to give this place 2 stars but they did one thing right that I will explain at the end of the review. Décor is old school steakhouse. Not lively, or vibrant. The service was mediocre. I found our waiter to be slow and not great at making recommendations. I was disappointed with the kobe meatballs. Presentation was lacking but the worst part is that it was dry! I did think the bacon was phenomenal, as was the Fred Flinstone T-bone steak, and rack of lamb. Everything else we tried(kobe meatballs, tuna tartare, caesar salad, mashed potatoes, grilled asparagus) was sub par to decent, with the meatballs being the worst. The tartare was made from good fish but it was not mixed with traditional accompaniments. It was more like sashimi with some sauce on the plate. The 3rd star is that they brought out a candle in dessert for my dad’s birthday. This was indicated in my opentable reservation and I didn’t remind them thinking they probably were’t the best at paying attention but they pulled through!
