Just had breakfast and it was delicious. My mom had the Pecan Pancakes and I had the Breakfast Skillet. Friendly service too.

I have lived in texas for over 20 years. I have also been to cracker barrels everywhere. Baytown Texas has the worse one I have ever been to. The last two times that I went everything I Tryed to order they did not have either the meat part, or the side. Once was right before lunch and once was during lunch. The first time was during lunch and they didn’t have mashed potatoes. Ok it’s lunch your really busy. You ran out. Ok I get it. How about chicken and dumplings. Out of that too. Ok. Let’s try breakfast. Pancake with sausage. No sausage. Give me a salad do you have that. Yes. Finally. I get to eat with the family. The next time about 11:30 on a Friday. My husband is off every other Friday. When I go to cracker barrel I always order hamburger steak, mashed potatoes, corn. Have for years. Again, no mashed potatoes. So I looked at the lunch specials. Beef stroganoff. That sounds good. I’ll get that. No we don’t have that either. I said how can it be a special today if right before lunch starts you don’t even have what you offer. She said I can go check if they are going to be making it. I said no that’s ok. We will take our business elsewhere. And never been back. In the past when we did get food it was great. But good luck getting it. And yes I do tell everyone about my experience. But if a restaurant is good I tell people about it as well.

This is my first time here. I was told the breakfast is really good, and since I was in the area, I decided to give it a try. The breakfast did not disappoint, but be prepared to wait. This location looks very chaotic in my opinion. You walk in to the store prior to entering the restaurant, and people are everywhere, it is difficult to find the host or hostess. After circling around the store, I came back to the front. There was a host, who made eye contact with me when i walked in and Im sure it was clear I was lost and confuse with junk everywhere of where to get a table for two. My hubs and I are waiting behind the person he is helping at the podium, and a group of people walked up standing in the entry doorway. The host acknowledges the group that just walked in while we were standing literally in front of the podium. My hubs is 6 ft, I know the host saw him, not me so much because I’m under 5 ft. This really rubbed my hubs the wrong way. After going through that, we approached someone else and asked to get seated since the host keeps helping everyone else except us two. The lady took our name and informed us our name will get called when a table becomes available. We waited outside for less 10 minutes before were were seated. From that moment on, the food arrived quickly, our waitress was friendly, and checked on us often.

Atmosphere is very fun and old fashioned(in a good way.) The staff is nice and the food is good. I usually don’t like green beans, but theirs is an exception. Definitely worth coming to.

I love walking into Cracker Barrel and walking through the old country store. Good way to kill time especially on a weekend morning when the place is packed with hungry families. Once seated it could be a bit crowded and usually pretty close to other tables. The servers barely have room to move around but they have learned how to maneuver through small spaces. I cannot complain about service here. I have dined in and placed several to go orders and everyone is always so pleasant. The ladies that cash you out at the end of your meal are always so sweet and usually convince me to buy some extra chocolate just cause its on the counter on sale. I don’t know how they do it. The servers are very courteous you can tell they receive good customer service training. Now down to the food. I have only eaten breakfast at Cracker Barrel so this review is based only on breakfast food and service. Pancakes…(drops the mic). Warm maple syrup bottles, apple butter for the biscuits, are all pluses. The coffee is very weak. I like me some dark roasted coffee. I have noticed that the servings are getting smaller(or my appetite is growing) especially the portion for the hash brown casserole. I remember sharing it with my husband but this last time it was just enough for one. The biscuits are hit or miss most times. I love when the outside is crispy and the inside is fluffy but this visits biscuits were semi uncooked :-(but I didn’t complain because our server Ed was super nice and my pecan pancakes were delicious. Breakfast here usually keeps me full until dinner. Convenient and pleasant.

Good old fashioned home cook’in. Loved the hash brown with cheese and onion mixed in. I ordered the old timers breakfast. I did enjoy the rustic décor. Friendly staff. Overall a good experience. Their store is filled with lots of goodies to satisfy any taste.

I used to love eating here, but haven’t been in a while. My wife and I finally made it, but the disappoint soon set in. The biscuits and corn bread aren’t free flowing like it used to be, and no jelly unless you ask for it. And, then the heart ache. Though, most of the food tasted as wonderful as I remember, they changed the recipe for my beloved meat loaf. It is now a soggy, squishy mass of meat product with an overpowering, yet bland bell pepper flavor and very little ketchup topping. I wept unmanly for days, and mourned the life of the cow that became that travesty.

Worst dinner ever! My family and I were coming home from Gatorfest when we decided that we better have something that resembled a home cooked meal so we chose Cracker Barrel. It was 8:00pm the parking lot and the dinning area were somewhat vacant so we were a shoe in to get served quickly… wrong! Where do I start? My 5 year old was given a child’s milk in a super huge glass, my husband had to ask for the bread after a table that was seated 10 minutes after us received theirs first. I asked for lemons for my tea as the server was on her way to the back– I watched her bring out 2 different tables drinks before I reminded her about the lemons a second time, my hamburger steak was brought out rare(blood on the plate) so it was sent back. I got to watch my family eat and finish their food before mine arrived. My daughters grilled chicken tenderloins looked like charcoal bricketts and she refused to eat them they were so blackened. It took another 10 minutes while I was waiting for my food to get a refill on my drink. It should have been the least she could have done since I had nothing else to do while I was watching the rest of my family eat. While I am eating alone, the server comes out and says she will talk to someone about the ticket for the food delay, well I guess she forgot that too because the ticket remained the same. I don’t fault the servers or the cooks because it is the kitchen managers who should be overseeing these workers. I don’t know when this store is going to get the kitchen together?

We had eaten here in the past and it was just OK; and, some things like the chicken fried steak are just plain bad(cfs and strips are pre-breaded and frozen-yikes). However today we decided to eat breakfast out and it was excellent. It looks like Cracker Barrel stepped up and decided to change because late last year I would have never thought I would return to this place. Service was excellent(Sat. morning and very busy) and the food was hot and fast. We sat down at 9:10am and by 9:27am we had our food. FYI-the fried chicken is fresh not frozen on Sunday.

The country store with the«meh» attitude. I’ve visited a few other Crackle Barrels and I’ve had great experiences at the other places. I was greeted by the employees in the store and they were awesome, talkative and friendly. But, once I got seated, the waiting staff’s attitude stinks. I wasn’t too sure what to order and I asked the waiter for his suggestion and he said, I don’t know… I don’t eat here. So, I opted for the chicken fried steak. The waiter was a younger gentleman and an older lady took over, she had an even worse attitude. When my food came out, it didn’t have my biscuits and I asked for my biscuits and she snapped that it was going to be ready in 10 mins. I asked for wheat toast and she acted like she ignored me. The younger gentleman walked by and asked how my food was the food and I asked for wheat toast and he went in the back to bring back burnt toast. The food came out fast and it wasn’t hot either, gravy was extra thick and potatoes were okay. The broccoli was good though! I don’t think I’ll be back to this location

First the hostess sat everyone in one section bunched together with half of restaurnt empty. Waited 20 minutes with no drinks or being greeted. The manager was sitting in front of us(but i had no clue at first he was the manager) Saw servers walking around doing side duty and chatting and texting.(where is the customer service, or team work) The hostess is texting as well. The manager sat down in front of us again still with no drinks. To look at the schedule after i had already went to ask the hostess where our server was. Then proceeds to walk away no customer service or awarness of thier guest. Plus they are out of mac and cheese, corn and dumplings at 815 pm. Seriously! Need New Managmentw with strong Leadership in Team work and a sense of urgency!

Ugh, yet another craptastic experience at this location. Sat for 10 minutes before we flagged someone down to get our waitress. My wife ordered the chicken fried steak. We were informed that our food was ready but the gravy was going to take another 4 minutes, so they brought it out anyway and she had to wait 10 minutes for the gravy. steak and potatoes rather cold at that point. This location always has crappy service. 2 weeks ago we tried to eat here, but stood at the hostess stand for 5 minutes before we left. When it is good, it is good, this location sucks. Whataburger is next door.

My family and I came this evening to eat dinner and it was just bad. The hostess seating us which was ok but gave us two different menus and didn’t tell us. Then one of the helpers to our server took our drinks was kinda ok but she had dirty dishes to take to the kitchen and taking our order of drinks.. Our server was okay but didn’t keep up with our refill drinks and forgot little things. We had to remind him. The food was terrible. We ordered the haddock dinner and fish was terrible. Then we ordered the chicken n dumplings and ribeye steak and both are bad. The only thing that was okay was the coffee and sweet tea. Will not be coming again to this location. I don’t recommend this location.

The food is typical country fare but done pretty well. I almost always order off the breakfast menu. It doesn’t matter what time of the day it is. It’s good to get some comfort food sometimes and the atmosphere at Cracker Barrell makes it perfect for that. Walking through the country store is always fun and the wife and I always leave with something sweet. The service has always been pretty decent but the waits can sometimes be disorganized and quite lengthy. Stay away from this place on Sunday mornings at all costs. Complete insanity. It feels like cattle being herded to the slaughter.

Ah Cracker Barrel, the great American Interstate dining experience. Who hasn’t stopped at a Cracker Barrel on a long freeway trip. I’ve loved Cracker Barrel for years and it’s quite distressing to me that there isn’t one close to where I live. So when I decided I was going to go clear across Houston to tour the USS Texas I checked to see if there might be a Cracker Barrel near by. It was my good fortune to find that there was one that would not be terribly out of my way so off I went. First I should tell you that I always get breakfast at Cracker Barrel and that’s one of the reasons I love them. If they are open I can get breakfast and there’s is a good one. They have excellent French toast, pancakes better then I can find at IHOP, excellent thick cut bacon, and decent biscuits, grits, and smoked sausage too. But my favorite choice at the Barrel is and always has been their country ham and saw mill(or red eye style) gravy. That salty ham fried up crisp dipped in white gravy is to die for! The prices are as reasonable as it gets and they give you a lot of it too. When I sat down I ordered the Uncle Herschal’s Favorite Breakfast and got 2 scrambled eggs(hard the way I like em), a big slice of the a fore mentioned ham, gravy, a side of hash browns(could have gotten fried apples which are also good or hash brown casserole which I could take or leave instead) a small order of grits and two biscuits with strawberry jam. Everything was cooked just the way I like it, the waitress remembered my request for strawberry jam and Tabasco for my eggs, and the food came out promptly. This was the best experience I’ve had in Cracker Barrel in years. All my food was cooked correctly and my service was outstanding. And with that said, inconsistency is the one draw back to Cracker Barrel. I won’t say I’ve ever had a truly bad experience there but I have had bad service, and poor quality food on occasion. I don’t mean truly rude and awful service or inedible food mind you just the kind of stuff that is really annoying. Things like not getting a refill, waiting forever for a check, having to tell the waitress or waiter three different times to bring me something, lumpy old grits, flour tasting gravy or overcooked bacon. These aren’t things that ruin a meal but they do detract from what is normally a great place to eat. Happily none of that happened at this location on this visit and I think more highly of them because of that. So I got a great meal with great service that left me very full and satisfied for a little over $ 10 including a 20% tip. That is an outstanding value by any definition. Oh and let’s not forget that as I walking through the awesome gift shop half of the operation that has all kinds of tempting candies, décor, and clothing items that I finally found the perfect ear rings to match one of my heart necklaces for less then $ 10. This side of the house is a truly dangerous place to be if you are trying not to spend money because there are so many tempting items to splurge on. You can even buy items that they serve on the restaurant side to take home with you to make your Cracker Barrel inspired meal. And there is always a clearance corner where some really great bargains can often be found. Yes I’m a fan of Cracker Barrel, and yes I look forward to my next visit. I can only hope that it turns out every bit as well as this one did.

Wish they had gluten free dumplings or a menu! Get on it cb! I love sweet potato and pot roast. I will give Cracker Barrel 5 stars as soon as they adopt a Gluten-Free/Allergy friendly menu, for such a large chain shame on them for not having one. Though Cracker Barrel is probably my favorite and only chain restaurant im proud to say I love and always looking forward to eating at. My usual pot roast, sweet potato, and carrots is simply the most amazing, flavorful, home cooked tasting meal ever. They are almost spot on! If you get bored play checkers, play the little golf game at your table, or go check out the mini mall they have in the entrance. Today I guess was new staff orientation which was cool, saw 2 tables with manages talking to new recruits walking in with applications and it was our hostess 1st day as well! One girl did wear a pokemon belt to her interview, which I hope she gets the job that is awesome =) The service was excellent, and all the staff was friendly. We had a couple gifts wrapped and she did an okay job, but took about 30 minutes to wrap 3 or 4 items which had me in the car waiting! Other than that, I will be back a million times, I love Cracker Barrel and all the sides, menu choices, and coffee.

Compared to other Cracker Barrels, the food is the same good-old country cooking. The chicken fried steak was delicious, along with the corn and macaroni and cheese. I would have given another star, but one of the ladies I was with was given the wrong meal. She didn’t get her correct order until after the guys had already finished eating. However, our waitress was very nice and checked on us frequently.

If there’s anything that tops a morning more than getting a good night’s sleep in a nice hotel while on the road, it’s finding a Cracker Barrel close by. From the cutesy, nostalgia-laden«country store» to the ‘grandpa’s-barn’ décor in the dining area, Cracker Barrel’s always have that homey feel even though 99% of the interior of homes in the U.S. don’t look anything like that! So yeah, we almost always stop at one when we’re on the road. I usually get the«Old Timer’s»(and, no, I’m not there… YET) breakfast. But, this particular locale had something interesting on the menu. It was a breakfast called the«Healthier Morning Sampler.» It had two eggs, bacon, a multi-grain muffin, granola and yogurt with fruit in it. Now, it was a tough decision to actually WANT this rather than my usual Old Timer’s(and, if it didn’t have BACON on it then I never would’ve tried it), but I have to say that it was pretty darn good! The eggs and bacon were fixed EXACTLY like I like them. While I missed the hashbrowns, biscuits and grits that I usually get, the muffin and yogurt were kind of a treat! I came away from the table satisfied and feeling BETTER about my choice. No, it’s not going to change me over to a health nut, but it was a nice change from my usual breakfast comfort crave. And, as like all the other Cracker Barrel’s, the coffee was perfect, the service was excellent and we got back on the road in no time. We’ll mark this one down in our GPS.

I love homestyle country cooking, seeeriously. it was my first time here and i loved it, no doubt! the food was so yummy. i didn’t think it’d be anything spectacular cause they’re just home-y favorites but my chicken fried chicken was just how i like it– crisp all around but still tender and juicy chicken inside. the sides i chose were sweet corn, mashed potatoes and mac&cheese. YUM. the corn bread was so amazing. — — — — -the best part? my meal was under $ 10! the store part that you first walk into is really neat, little nick-nacks here and there to look at while you wait to hear your name called to be seated. the store is not good for people like me though who buy things standing in line at the grocery store ;) the tables in the restaurant are a little too close together but it’s feasible. and you pay for your meal at the cash registers(in the store part), it was confusing to me as a first timer but i think i got the hang of it all now! i’m even thinking of going back tonight for dinner… but i don’t know if it’d be open.(that was actually my reason for being here, findng the phone number!)
