King’s Barbeque

This was my first bbq stop in Texas and of course super excited to try it. I ordered a pint of gumbo and a baked potato and I’m obsessed I can eat this everyday!!! I wish we had something like this back in Cali

Only thing that I’ve ever tried here is the BBQ turkey baked potato and it is really good! I’ve had the side of baked beans and I liked them too. If I ever have a craving for BBQ, they are my go to for a quick fix.

Average BBQ. Can’t say if I’d return. You get a decent value for what you pay for though. We got a good portion of ribs with 2 sides and a piece of jalapeño Texas Toast that was actually pretty good. We choose Mac and cheese along with bbq baked beans for sides. Both were tasty. The ribs however were a letdown. The sauce was a little weak imho and the ribs lacked great flavor. My wife and I were able to share one dinner meal for under 10 bucks (we drank water).

Bbq bake potato is delicious and huge I personally can never eat the whole thing, tea is good. Staff is very friendly. Nice little quiet place for some good BBQ.

BBQ and service was mediocre. The only highlight was the jalapeño cheese bread, it’s not on the menu so you have to ask for it.

Sweet tea was good, brisket and sausage were okay. Not a big selection of barbeque in Baytown. This is the best one in town, but that’s not saying much

Standard BBQ. It’s good, but nothing special.

The Brisket was dry the sauce low in flavor high in vinegar. The sides looked as if they
were out all day baked and over cooked. If you value quality and flavor I would try elsewhere. Big disappointment to Texas BBQ. The price is rather cheap but so is the quality and flavor.
Next food critique will be Buds BBQ so stay tuned.

King’s BBQ is a great option if you’re looking for an alternative to chain fast food in the Baytown area and you don’t want to get off one of the main throughways in town. Except for the fries, which are sadly frozen, I’ve have great experiences with the spicy sausage, chicken, and a number of sides. The sauce is slightly sweet, but not overbearing, and the optional cream gravy is surprisingly good.

Let’s get right to it. First, I would like to compliment the staff. While walking around to the customers, the manager asked if everything was satisfactory and could he get anything for them (us). The staff was extremely knowledgeable and had patients for ALL of my questions. This made for a great atmosphere. Speaking of atmosphere, comfortable and definitely casual with a feeling of «everyone’s welcome». The restaurant itself was neat and clean; including the restrooms. Second, the food exceeded my expectations. I had the «2 meat plate»; which, consisted of sliced brisket and sausage with two sides. Both meats were sliced thin and given in adequate quantities. For Brisket Lovers: The marbling of this meat was just right. Not too lean and not too fatty. The thin slices were a joy to eat. If meat could melt in your mouth… well… Ok, so you’ve got someone going with you who is not in the mood for BBQ. How about (they have menus that you can take) Fried Catfish/​Chicken, Ribeye, Hamburgers or even Tuna Steak (fish lovers will know). I can’t attest to anything but the «2 meat plate» and «the catfish dinner» (ordered that to go). I can say that I will definitely return. I gave it 4 stars because I haven’t had a lot of the menu and I’ve only been there once.
