Nice view from patio on upper level. Not impressed with overall quality of food. Ordered shark bites-​not good at all, tasty fishy so told our waiter who said he would talk with manager & never got back to us about the issue. He really didn’t care & charged us anyway. Drinks served in small plastic cups.
Too many other restaurants to try on the island… don’t plan on going back for dinner.

One of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. Our group of 6 had an 8:30 p.m. reservation on a Saturday. The upstairs outdoor section was relatively crowded but the downstairs indoor section was almost completely empty. We weren’t seated until 8:45.
After placing a few orders for drinks, we ordered entrees at approximately 9 p.m. After 45 minutes of waiting, I went downstairs to speak to the manager about the wait time. Apparently annoyed that a guest would question a 45-​minute wait time for some pasta and seared tuna, she went to the kitchen to check on the order. We were the next ticket, she said – 10 more minutes. No apology.
After hearing that, I requested the check, we paid for our drinks and left. Service was incredibly slow, management was unbelievably rude. Will never be back here again.
Ended up going to Chicken or the Egg for some chicken sandwiches. Place was slammed. Food was out in 5 minutes.

Great view ESP around sunset.
After that it’s just eh…
Pricey and less than average portions.
Something odd is going on w the lobster, really odd taste and the drawn butter had a burnt smell to it.
Drinks were weak.
Service was attentive, but I wouldn’t go back. And should have read the reviews.

The food was really good. Drinks were a little weak. Fun atmosphere, waitress service was very good. Would definitely go back again.

My wife and I had a babysitter for the night and decided to get together with two other couples we are friends with for dinner on the deck. We got there at about 6 and had to hang out at bar for half hour til a table was available. We ordered our food right away. After about a half an hour the waitress started coming back to us saying that the food will be out shortly. After another half hour we stopped seeing our waitress. So we asked another waitress if she could check on our food. A female ended coming out and said they didn’t have an order for us. Well at this point it’s been over an hour since we had ordered. And its almost 8. We had to order again and wait another hour for our food. By this time all the younge kids arrived to start to party. Staff removed all dining tables from the deck except our table and we were eating being completely surrounded by kids bumping into us. So awkward. They gave us a few free appetizers but it was horrible. No tip for you. Still don’t know where are waitress went. This happens in 2015 summer. We won’t be back.

So bummed that I didn’t read the reviews before we dined here. It amazes me how a place with such a great view and layout can be SO bad…
The server was nice, but didn’t know the menu because he actually didn’t work there and came to help because they were short staffed.
Water and mixed drinks were served in plastic disposable cups. My girl ordered a ‘Jolly Roger’ that was so flavorless that we actually laughed about it. $ 8 and served in plastic. Horrible!!!
Came for Crab Fest, but they were out.
Mahi had zero flavor.
Linguini/​clams had tiny portions.
Entrees came with no salad or bread.
Just felt like a total ripoff from every angle.
Our entertainment for the night, aside from the sunset and looks of disappointment on others faces, was watching some bodies baby chew on an oyster menu. Then it was dropped onto the floor… After 10 minutes they picked it back up and gave it back to her. Gross.

Even though the upstairs patio is great for sunsets, you have a fifty percent chance of seeing a good one. We have come at least twice a season. The food is it or miss. Drinks are so so. After our last visit we are done, no more. We were a group of six. Server took our drink order and came right back for our food order. She immediately came back with them soups and salads, we just started to sip our drink! Before we had two spoonfuls of soup our meals came! They would not take them back to the kitchen. Just made room on the table and left. Never saw the manager. They have a real management problem there. Nobody really cares. We won’t be back.

Wish we had paid attention to the poor reviews before dining here. No option to give no stars, so will have to give it one star for the fantastic view. Food is at best mediocre and overpriced. Seven in our party and two dishes were served BURNT-​totally inedible. When we told our server, Candace, she offered to discount just one dinner and that is because one ear of corn was eaten while waiting for her to return to ask how the food was. We then waited 45 min for the check and as she promised, only one dinner was taken off, even though we sent both back. After waiting another 15 min, we asked for a manager and Candace asked WHY? With attitude, she returned with both inedible meals taken off. We were never visited by the manager, even after requesting to see one. Very poorly run operation, from the busboy slamming down the plates to the server with attitude and no manager in sight. Beware of the «add on» of a skewer of shrimp with the lobster dinner for two. We got exactly 3 average sized shrimp for an additional $ 8.50!!! Do yourself a favor and eat next door at the Boathouse, same great view and better food

I wish I could give negative stars. Candice the door girl is on a power trip, we arrived at 1 am and had to pay $ 15 cover for an hour. Which we did no questions asked, but they had no wrist bands so they held us at the front door waiting for several minutes, when we asked if we could be escorted upstairs to get a drinks while we wait for the wrist bands we were given an attitude. And as soon as someone in our party questioned it we were told we had too leave and get off the property or the cops would be called, and half of our group of 15 was ready inside. As we were trying to locate the rest of our party the cops arrived???

Good bartender. Great mojito, john Dailey and kettle one tonic. Nice table upstairs. Nice breeze. Everyone enjoyed their dinner. Crab cakes 95% crab Tuma a winner. Scallop special with risotto very good (only complaint just 4 scallops, bit chintzy) steamers are not really steamers but steamed half shell. Pass on these. Service very good — up and down the stairs for everything. Will be back for another sunset dinner.

Nice views but thats about the only positive. The food was bland and had no taste at all and they were out of just about everything by 8:30pm on a friday night. The service was lacking and it was difficult to get anyone to refill a drink. We asked our waiter to inform the manager that we were not happy with our experience or the food. Instead of coming to apologize the manager simply to the waiter to tell us they were busy tonight. We’ve come to LBI for years and expect the wait and crowds but we never expected such terrible service or food. Would give it a zero if I could. Will never go back.

Everyone was nice and friendly, the atmosphere was pleasing & the food was decent… But the overall experience was not pleasurable. Our appetizers came out great, oysters and Shark bites, then when our entrees arrived everything went downhill and stayed there. First off we ordered the advertised lobster bake. They offer an upgrade on the lobster for $ 20 to go up to a 2lb-​er for each lobster. My husband specifically asked of one of our 2 to be upgraded. Upon delivery to large lobsters show up instead of one ($ 40 increase not $ 20). That’s a decent add on but my husband was calm and said no problem, we’ll deal with it, it wouldn’t go to waste. Next, the dish was incomplete. It was supposed to have corn and coleslaw, it showed up with a lobster and corn. We inquired with the server and she said„ oh no it doesn’t”. The menu & advertisement were pretty clear. But whatever, she brought out a side dish for us. They offer a kids eat free deal from 4−6… There are lots of undisclosed restrictions on this offer. Either the servers neglect to tell you about it or they are directed not to. Either way, this is not cool and kinda sleazy. So we were charged for a kids meal because we got a special and not a regular priced entrée. Lastly we were asked if we wanted dessert, but at that time thought we were getting the kids eat free deal (which does not come with dessert) so we each got something. Once we got the bill and realized we paid for a kids meal that comes with a drink and dessert, we were pissed. We wouldn’t have ordered multiple desserts if we were offered the dessert that came with the kids meal we were charged for! No mention was made of this or the restrictions on the deal AND we were brought and charged for incorrect orders. Management never came over to check on us, say hello or apologize for any mishaps that occurred. They did take off the kids meal due to a lack of communication, but it was too little too late. We certainly won’t be returning.

Oysters were good. Where were they from? I don’t know, we weren’t told. Coconut shrimp was good, the dip it comes with isn’t good, it kind of tastes like nothing. Go there for the view cause it’s BEAUTIFUL. Service wasn’t great. Probably will never go back, stinks cause it has an awesome sunset view

Zero stars. DO NOT GO! We had a 7:30 reservation on the deck for a party of 8 on Tuesday nite. We all wanted the Blue Claw Crab Feast. After ordering, the server told us that they only had 7 orders left. 1 person changed his order and then the server came back and said «Sorry, only 2 orders left now!» Manager was told and he couldn’t have cared less. Should have known by the unhappy hostess greeting that it was going to be a problem. The best part of the nite was taking our party across the street to The Boathouse! They were happy to have us and the food was great.

This review for the ketch is based on eating at the bar and more representative of the food than the atmosphere. The upstairs bar is a great place for drinks and especially for sunset in beach haven. I have had too many past mediocre experiences with the food so have not eaten here in a while.
This past Friday I was there with a girlfriend and we were starving so we ordered some food. The menu prices have increased over the years and for the quality of the food, it it totally overpriced. I ordered the fish tacos for $ 18. The portion was skimpy and there were only 2 tacos with more lettuce and tomatoes than fish. My girlfriend had 2 appetizers. One was coconut shrimp which were big and plentiful and the steak bites which was also a small portion but ok tasting. Well, I tried the food again and will not be eating here again.

Had to try this place bc nothing else around had seating. They ran out of shrimp cocktail on a Saturday night! How does that even happen? Not that they were packed. Food was ok but a bit pricey. Service was fast at least. Probably go else where next time

I wish I could give them zero stars. The Ketch thinks they are too cool for school so they advertise these great specials and then when you actually get there they reneg on them. Stay far far away from this place!!! So many better bars in LBI!

An ok restaurant with one of the most beautiful dining areas on the island. Overlooking the bay, it’s a great spot for happy hour/​dinner around sunset time. Don’t expect anything outstanding however, and be ready to pay for it.

Beautiful night on the deck. Service was great, drinks awesome and food was delicious.

Most fun bar on LBI, I have never eaten here but this place is a total blast!
