Nothing outstanding. Very limited menu. When we were there, last Thursday, the place was almost deserted. Really nice décor and there had to be potential, but they have a long way to go. Had a beef skewer, flavor was excellent, but beef was chewy. Just not the buzz of the original Tuckers.

Great atmosphere with a deck that looks over the bay. Blueberry Sangria was super summery and yummy. The food and service was very good. The Sunday brunch starts at 10:30 and for $ 10 you get unlimited mimosas, bloody marys, sangria or screwdrivers! Can’t beat it!

For my birthday my wife took me here along with 4 other couples for drinks and appetizers. We sat at the bar and had a great time. It wasn’t too busy and no loud music. Perfect for me. We ate alot of food had some shots and drank beer for several hours. Great atmosphere. It was a good way to start my birthday evening. I will be back again. Dropped a star due to it being bit pricey.

Delicious food, good service. Tasty cocktails too. They accommodated our vegetarian/vegan group with no problem. There weren’t many veggie options on the menu but our waitress Brittany went and talked to the head chef who kept tofu on hand for such occasions! He made us a fantastic dish of tofu with a red pepper sauce and asparagus on top.

Service and drinks were great. Food was another story. Lump crab app was good but small. Had the shrimp scampi, had to send it back because the shrimp weren’t done enough, when it came back it was still the same. Beet salad was good and the brussel sprouts. Pass on the desert and stop at an ice cream stand instead. Great location and awesome sunsets. Christine was very attentive but food needs to improve.

Tucker’s did a fine job accommodating me and my family on such short notice and a crowed restaurant. The food was great and service was equally great!

Food is great! Went here for lunch with my husband and mother-in-law and had a salad with some kind of cheese and fruit in it that seemed strange on the menu but gave it a shot and wow was it delicious. They have pretty unique items on the menu, not just a plain salad, chicken etc. It’s a bit pricey for the amount you receive but its pretty worth it.

We came to Tucker’s to Celebrate My mothers 86 th Birthday, well we were all treated like Royalty! Our waitress(Lyndsey) was amazing! She was very warm and welcoming. I will definitely recommend this Restaurant to all my friends and family, and highly suggest asking for Lyndsey! Thanks to all for making Moms Birthday a memorable night.

One of the better eateries on Southern LBI. Service was excellent– attentive but not intrusive. The cocktail and beer selections satisfied our party of craft beer and bourbon drinkers. The raw clams and oysters were fresh and plump albeit a bit pricey($ 18 and $ 22 respectively per dozen). The entrees were tasty if lacking a bit in imagination. Overall a solid place for a good meal.

Late dinner and everything was great — scallops, lamb tacos, truffle fries(try these!) and beet salad. Sierra was our server and she was great. Good suggestions and attentive. The old Tuckers had awful service but Sierra lets you know that this is the New Tuckers and well worth the stop.

Perfect. My chicken melted in my mouth. My husband fully enjoyed his penne bolognase. The service from seating to paying the check was top notch. Craft beer. Raw bar. Super cool ambiance. Just go!

Tasty food. Good beer selection. Manager recognized us for checking in and sharing on social media. One thing that may bring it down a ½ point would be for the price of the apps there could have been a little bit more and it could have been a bit warmer. But we’d go back…

As my last Unilocal review of 2015, I’m glad it was here. The music was not too loud and plenty festive. Free champagne and lots of people just generally having a good time made me glad I’m ringing in the new year here/

The atmosphere was wonderful. We were seated on outside deck. Little bit of trouble with reservation. A few hostesses that did not communicate well. That got sorted out promptly and efficiently. Austin, who served our food, was conscientious and prompt! Dinner was finally enjoyed by all

Bad business!!! Former Tucker customers won’t be back We were back to LBI today for the first time since the new owners took over. My husband has been traveling for business for the past year, so regular shore visits have been on hold. We were excited to go to Tuckers, our favorite place on LBI. We have a $ 50 gift certificate that was purchased two days before Sandy. New owners have stopped honoring these gift certs. Would have been good business to accept and welcome customers back. Instead Tucker customers since 1992 will now go elsewhere.

TLDR: long wait, poor service, questionable«food». After sifting through Unilocal for every imaginable restaurant in the area, we decided with moderate confidence that Tuckers Tavern would be a nice spot for two out-of-towners to grab a couple of burgers and brews and enjoy a nice, low-key evening after spending the better part of the day traveling into LBI. We sat down at our table about an hour before the doors closed and the waiter eagerly handed us our menus and quickly disappeared into the abyss of their«kitchen» to fetch us our bread. Seeing as we did arrive late, I suppose we shouldn’t have been surprised by the rock hard texture of the rolls, yet this is unfortunately the best part of our«dining experience». First up were overpriced beers and an order of lobster mac and cheese. Our beers came quickly. Not so bad, other than the fact that the server regretfully forgot to inform us that our choices were out of stock. Next up, lobster mac and cheese. Now, this would have been okay had they just named the dish«mac and cheese». I can say with confidence that there was no lobster to be found. At least there were heaps of fatty bacon intertwined with the over cooked, slimy pasta. We each ordered burgers. My partner ordered a turkey burger and myself a double cheddar cheese burger. Expectations were lowering in each passing minute we waited for our dinners. Our stomachs rumbled to the beat of the Sublime and Foo Fighters songs blasting through the restaurants sound system. The ambiance was spectacular. After nearly 45 minutes, our food finally arrived. We couldn’t be too angry. They were nearing closing and the four other remaining patrons surrounding us must have really caused a back up in the kitchen, I’m sure. Alas, our plates were sat down in front of us, but not before my partner was handed her plate and then told«oh, by the way, the plate I handed you is pretty hot.» I’m sure she loves going to restaurants and leaving with burned hands. Alas, we each dug into our meals, expectations lowering by the second, only to find that these«burgers» tasted more like«whatever was pulled from that clog in the kitchen sink». Nausea immediately set in and we each pushed our plates aside, unsurprisingly, of course. We waited a solid 15 minutes before flagging down our waiter and explained the perils of our situation. He offered to take an entrée off of our bill without even first consulting his manager. I’m thinking she must have left for the night. It didn’t even matter at this point. We were ready to leave, and we didn’t even care if we just spent $ 40 for lobsterless-lobster mac and cheese. We paid our bill and hurried away, making sure to get as far away as we possibly could from this not-so-nice, not very — low key night. If you stumble upon this place in your quest for a place to eat, just click away and continue your search.

I’ve only visited this establishment two times, and each time we’ve experienced rude bar service. That really killed it for me. On the other hand, their crab dip was pretty good.

Came for dinner and comment accordingly, food was eh or average. Service was quality and the place looks more like a ‘bar hang’ or a good place to watch sun set. Crew had burger, chix, fish and chips, and salad. Again, all were average at best. Suggest other places if food quality and taste is the priority.

Some pretty mixed reviews on Unilocal for this place. We had a great meal and a great time. 1st — they take reservations. We are a large party(12) so that is a real time saver. When we arrived the place was busy but we were seated right away. The menu had a number of items that really sounded great so it was hard to choose. Fish and Chips were a big winner, the crab cake sandwich and the ribs were also very good. Apps were great too; lobster bisque, potato soup, wings and calamari were all hits. Our waitress was very helpful and very attentive Cocktails and beer were also great. Everyone wants to cancel tonight’s plans so we can go back and pick different items off the menu. Whether tonight or next trip to LBI we will definitely come back.

We recently ate here twice during our family vacation and two very different experiences. It’s one of the few places that takes reservations so that makes it convenient. The first night we were there was on a Sunday. Food was great, we had the mussels and calamari appetizers and many of us ordered soup. While we were waiting for our entrees the manager came over and told us that a runner had dropped out food and it would be about 15 minutes, then offered to buy us a round of drinks. Great, thank you. And conveniently our food came out in 5 minutes which was nice since we were with 2 small children. Flounder, scallops, etc all was very tasty. Fast forward to later in the week with a 6:15 reservation, same waitress and she remembers us. We get the calamari again, which we ordered as soon as we sat down along with drinks. We again ordered soups and entrees. Calamari and drinks come right up. Then we wait. Wait some more. An hour later we still have no soup or entrees, no one has asked if we need anything. Did I mention I had two small children with us?! Manager comes over(different one from our previous visit, offers us a free appetizer. Ummm no dude, some tuna tacos aren’t going to make my kids any less annoying. Their chicken fingers however would be super helpful right now. Just says, we’re a little backed up tonight. Yeah I picked up on that. How about you go figure that out instead of hanging out by the bar. Finally at 7:25 we get our soup and the kids food, quickly followed by our own. The food is good. The convenience of Open Table also good. But clearly there are some behind the scenes issues really limiting my ability to rate this place higher.

I don’t know when this place changed ownership but this has been on our restaurant rotation for many years. I was hesitant to go but sure glad I did. We were a large party and the waitress handled it well. Service was prompt, courteous and timely. I had the chance to try a couple of different dishes and they were all great. I’m glad we went and will happily go back!

it’s good, but kinda pricy. my friends and i went in there for some apps and drinks while waiting for a storm to pass. i think the new word in food is «gastro-pub» which means«hipster flavored plates». this naturally means that there is some kind of macaroni and cheese, and fried pickles they were fried(not too soggy, not overdone) and of course fries with more cheese. each dish was good. no complaints, and the staff was attentive. it was«good», «just not wow». to be fair i have no idea how the dinners or lunch are. there may be something on there that will knock your socks off, i just never ordered off that menu.

I’m not usually one to jump on Unilocal to leave a review but this place is a real gem. From staff to food to atmosphere, I couldn’t have been more pleased we chose to sit down to a meal here. As a starter, we went with the calamari which was perfectly cooked and mighty tasty. Then I had the soy glazed salmon which very well could be the best thing I’ve eaten in the last year. Just fresh and tasty and you can tell they care about every little detail when they prepare it. My wife & I are both suckers for peanut butter so we just had to split the peanut butter explosion to finish the meal, and it didn’t disappoint. Overall an A+ effort! To the staff, thank you so much for making our night memorable. Keep up the great work! We’ll be back next year, same time, same place :))

Really good service. Really average food. The shrimp were overlooked and didn’t have much flavor. Good selection of beers. Get the pepper apetizer. A sleeper. The outdoor patio looked great but we weren’t on it. Might be worth another Star!

Ah Tuckers! Grew up going to Tuckers every year we vacationed in LBI. To see it rise again after being closed after Sandy is a true joy. We were greeted warmly by the hosts and given a choice of indoor or outdoor seating(the benefit of going before the crowds come this holiday weekend). The newly renovated décor is fun, shore worthy, and casually elegant. The menu has plenty of options for food and drink — including a great selection of beers. Started with clams on the half shell — fresh, plump and sweet. Our dinners included fish and chips (A generous portion served with yummy crunchy French fries) and the wood grilled angus pub steak. The steak was cooked perfectly with a tasty peppercorn sauce & served with a spicy kale creation and twice baked potato. Delicious! Too stuffed to try dessert but their were many interesting options! Service was friendly, attentive and well versed. So happy to know my old LBI fave is back!

Tucker’s is a fun great place to go for drinks in Lbi, but the food is mediocre. Stick with salads or burgers or come for happy hour. Their entrees and appetizers try to be upscale but the portions are small and prepared in a more unique way which misses the point. I ordered the mussels appetizer which indicated that they were out of shell. The portion was tiny and I seriously couldn’t even find the mussels which were being soaked in a roll covered with sauce. I sent it back. The calamari was ok, but again small portion and prepared more uniquely in a sauce which was good, but give me a good marinara any day. Again, fun place. Chris the bartender is awesome, but stick with basics for food.

The three Cs: Tuckers Tavern is cavernous, cheery and comfortable! I ordered: 1. A pint of Thomas Jefferson’s Tavern Ale by Yards Brewing Company($ 7). The beer was really great; I’m delighted that I tasted it. 2. A caesar salad made with«baguette croutons» and pecorino($ 8). The salad itself was A-OK, and I thought that the croutons were noteworthy. 3. The BBQ Pork Spareribs with home-made coleslaw, house cut french fries and Carolina barbecue sauce($ 23). I thought that the ribs were excellent, though the sauce was a bit too sweet for me. I ate everything on my plate! As far as I can discern, this restaurant has never read John McPhee’s book«A Sense of Where You Are.» It was apparently furnished out of a Pottery Barn catalog and could be anywhere — it made me think of the shopping malls on Route 1 between Trenton and New Brunswick. If you’ve just come from the mainland and want a dinner that cements your relationship to LBI, you’ll be happier at Ship Bottom Shellfish. But if you’ve been around for a while and just want a solid meal that’s not outrageously priced, Tuckers Tavern would be an excellent choice.

Sat at the bar on a Sunday night to grab a burger and a beer and watch some football. The décor is mostly the same from the old Tucker’s, the shuffleboard is gone along the windows and replaced with some bar tops. If you like the old place, you’ll like the new place. Wife and I shared some wings and they were very good. No greasy at all and had a nice crunch to them. I had a turkey blt and my wife had the crab cake sandwich, both were enjoyable. Happy hour was from 3 – 7. I loved the old Tuckers and I was upset when I heard they weren’t reopening after superstorm Sandy. I’m glad new owners came in and reopened Tucker’s. It’s perfect place to go for a casual dinner or sit at the bar and hang. Plenty of tvs for games and many craft beers on tap. I will defiantly return again and again.

Hands down the best spot in LBI fo kicking back during happy hour and watching a game. The original Tuckers was hit hard during the aftermath of Sandy. But the new owners(who also own Daddy O) did an awesome job of revitalizing the best of the old tavern, expanding it, and melding it into a spot that’s equal parts seafood restaurant and classic English pub. They also added plenty of flat screen TVs, a solid brunch, and a happy hour that goes from 3 — 7 pm everyday that has a boatload of drink and food specials. I could have easily enjoyed mains like Barnegat Scallops with smoked bacon or a sandwich offering like their Double Cheddar Burger. But since the happy hour menu offered kick ass specials like buck a shuck oysters and Old Bay peel and eat shrimp for $ 5 I had to dive into their raw bar. and while it was kind of odd that it took longer for my raw bar options to arrive than my cousins perfectly cooked mahi mahi, they were definitely worth the wait. With a solid beer list that features brews from the likes of Ommegang and 21st Ammendment, tempting food specials, and game day deals; Tuckers Tavern is a classic LBI institution revitalized in the right direction.
