Went for the night life. It was a really good time and atmosphere, there is a cover charge of 20 $ a little much if you ask me, but that didn’t stop the night from being a blast.

I wish I could give 100 stars I have literally never had a better bar experience in my life. the bar tenders Nick and Matt were attentive and and helpful and the barback Christian was ridiculously friendly and kept the bar exceptionally clean! Friendly! Handsome! All around good food. unbelievably fantastic service!

Worst place to eat on LBI. I almost feel a civic duty to stand at the front door and keep people from entering. Summers come and go and the food here is consistently garbage. Amazingly they never hire someone who can cook. When in the area, eat anywhere besides here. Serious.

Completely empty during the week. Food was good but overpriced. Nicely decorated. Waitress was very pleasant and attentive. Would return to this restaurant. Fried zucchini was quite tasty with the sauce. Chicken milanese was good but too much arugula on top that was hiding the chicken.

Group of 7 adults and 1 child. Sunday night and restaurant was at about 20% capacity. Service was super slow. Had to ask twice for water. Bread was great and orders taken promptly. Those are the only two positives. Dinners arrived sporadically with my husband’s arriving last which was almost 8 minutes after everyone else had finally been served. When my 7 year old niece got her macaroni and cheese, her comment was«this is all I get?» Her bowl was about ½ full and for $ 9 such a rip off. My halibut was bland and not pan seared as described on specials. Husband’s stuffed shrimp was tasteless and gave him upset stomach. Burger asked for medium was well done. Shrimp pizza which was asked for prepared without onions arrived with onions. Scallop dinner was good as was lobster special according to those who ate it. We did complain about pizza and Mac and cheese. They did take pizza off the check and brought more Mac and cheese. While our waitress was nice she was not attentive. I saw the manager gesture to her 3 times while she was chatting with the hostess. She finally got her attention that our food(at least some of it) was ready to be brought to the table. We used to frequent this restaurant years ago, but my husband said we are crossing this one off our list.

We were a little nervous with the 3 star rating, but the menu looked good and it was happy hour, so we went in for a late lunch/early dinner. The restaurant was almost empty and was a little warm and stuffy. The waitress turned the air up for us and it quickly became comfortable. The wait staff was friendly and fairly quick. My dad can be rude and tends to make people feel uncomfortable, but they took it in stride… Everyone in our party of 5 really liked their meals which were a mix of seafood pizza, flank steaks, scallops with risotto, and kid’s chicken fingers. The fried calamari and zucchini appetizers were also really good. Everything had good flavor, was cooked well and there were no complaints on the food from anyone(including my dad…). I knocked a star off because there was a sign that advertised happy hour which was why we went there, but we could only get it at the bar, which we couldn’t sit at because we had a 2 year old with us who needed to sit in a normal height chair. Maybe this is a thing that you can only take advantage of happy hour at the bar, I don’t know. They wouldn’t accommodate us, so we didn’t get any drinks. Their loss, I guess.

Came for cocktails(8:00pm) and bypassed the menu. Place was dead, hip hop rap was blasting, bartender was shooting water out of the gun at women at the bar. Not my scene. Spoiler alert: There are other places in walking distance you should check out.

We can here because we were in LBI for the weekend and were looking for some good seafood. We got here and they had just about everything on the menu except lobster. Any kind of fish or shellfish you could possibly imagine, and no lobster. We ordered the fried zucchini and they were awesome. Mussels were great and the shrimp cocktail was fresh and cold. Dinner wasg ood. I got seafood scampi and it was good. Could probably use a little more flavor in the sauce, but I added a little salt and it was fine. The Crab pizza, which might have been a special, was different. Definitely try it!

The Marlin bouncers are a bunch of assholes. Never go there! Totally lost our business tonight. Seashell is so much better. Used to love the place but never going back now, treated us like pieces of shit even though he was a child who had no idea what he was doing. Saturday night 7÷19÷15 bouncer, get off your high school high horse. Never go there!

My family and I when to the marlin for dinner for my daughters birthday. We had a reservation for 6pm at 7 we still had no food and all the tables around us were served. Then they brought all the food at different times half the table were served .The food was cold and did not taste good at all. At the end of the the night everyone was served but me and I revived the check and my plate to take home. This was the worst service I have revived ever. I am is the customer service business and would never treat my customers in that fashion. I would like to note the server was trying her hardest to make us happy but it was clearly out of her hands.

My first time in LBI and we had no idea where to go as the reviews were all over the place. Marlin looked pretty nice. The menu didn’t have a lot of options — a couple pizzas, some pasta and a few seafood items. In the end our check came to about $ 90. We had 2 beers, a soda, half dozen oysters as an appetizer, and the scallops and the stuffed shrimp for our main meals. I liked the warm bread and great service(very nice attentive waitress) but not much else. The oysters weren’t cleaned particularly well but we ate them. The scallops were cooked decently but had no flavor. The mushroom«risotto» was not a risotto at all as it was dry and sticky with no flavor. The seasonal vegetables were fine. My boyfriend said his stuffed shrimp were ok but I tried a bite and found it also completely lacking in flavor. It was a disappointing seafood experience and would not recommend it. At the end of the meal I went to the restroom and discovered it was smelly, a little dirty and had broken locks on some doors and flies.

I’ve only been here for happy hours but you can’t beat the prices. 50 cent clams and I got a dozen old bay shrimp for $ 6 too. If you’re looking to go have some seafood and a few beers after the beach I definitely recommend it

Really love all of the pizzas, especially the shrimp scampi and bbq pizzas! Also great fish dishes. Always fresh and delicious. Our favorite is to sit at the back bar. The staff is always super friendly and attentive. Order the mango cosmo from the drink list — that is my favorite! Also, best bar on the island. Great live music, great DJ, fun atmosphere, and great prices. We danced all night until they kicked us out! The place to be on Saturday nights without a doubt.

Good for beers but the service lacks and the food is mediocre at best. Waited 45 minutes for a hot dog that never showed up so we paid the bill and left. There was only like 20 people in the entire place and three bartenders plus 2 – 3 servers were frantic trying to handle it. The buffalo wings were super average and I wouldn’t bother getting them again. Beer was ok out of the bottle, but that was to be expected. They do not have the Sunday Ticket so don’t bother going if you’re not an Eagles fan or a Giants fan. I feel like the Marlin is on par with all the other shitty bars on L.B.I…(see Nardi’s, Joe Pops, The Ketch).

I wanted to like this place… I really did since it was my choice after original restaurant we wanted had a 2 hour wait… Should have waited. 1st three things we ordered were unavailable? 2 of those being cocktails off the menu!!! Baked clams were sub-par. Tasteless and dry. The New England clam chowder tasted like canned soup. The drinks $ 9 cocktail and and iced tea came in child sized glasses. We had to ask for bread with our entrees the crab ravioli and a steak salad… All other diners already had… 2 stars because the salad and bread were actually very good. I won’t be returning to eat here… Maybe bar is better?

We won’t be going back again: slow service, overpriced food, and the chefs don’t know the menu! Went to the Marlin around 6:00PM on Monday, August 18, 2014. We were a party of 4. The person at the host desk had to find another person to actually seat us. That person seemed unsure as to where to seat us then decided it would be best to push two tables together. Okay. It was not busy but it still took the waitress 10 minutes to visit our table for the first time and take our drink order. Instead of splurging on an expensive cocktail, I just decided to order water because by that time we all had plenty of time to look at the menu and we knew what we wanted. I can’t imagine how long it would have taken if the place was busy — it really wasn’t. The food is pricey for the quality — and the chefs must not know the menu too well. My girlfriend ordered the chicken parm with angel hair pasta — well that is what the menu said. But when it came out is was with fettuccine noodles instead. I questioned the waitress and she didn’t know what the chicken was supposed to be served with. Great. My daughter ordered crab ravioli and even though the menu said the sauce had peas in it, there were none. But even more serious was the texture of the ravioli — seriously undercooked and doughy. Not worth $ 18 for sure. My niece ordered the shrimp pizza. It was okay but overcooked to the point that the pizza’s edge was blackened all around. I ordered the Margherita pizza and it was just okay. The red sauce tasted canned and not at all homemade. The best part about the whole meal was the warm bread served before our food came out. With so many choices in the area we won’t be giving the Marlin a second chance!

We were a party of 5 who were told to wait 30 mins. I had no problem with the wait as I understood that this was a Saturday night dinner. As we waited at the bar, a party of 7 arrives 5 mins after us. They are white we are Asians. They get their table BEFORE us. I let it go at first but obviously wanted to investigate whether or not they had a reservation. I first consult my friends and they say that they over heard the party of 7 say that THEYDON’T HAVE A RESERVATION. My friends were insistent that I not ask the hostess for clarification about our reservation. They said to let it go because they understood that we were being discriminated against. Not only are we Asian but we are also in our early 20s hence the perception that we are cheap. I could not accept that line of reasoning. It’s the principle that mattered. So I finally approach the hostess. I asked her why the party before us was accommodated before us. She said that they had a reservation. My friend instantly told me that she had lied to me. To further confirm this, they only started preparing the table as soon as I asked. And by then we had already been waiting 30 mins. The table they were preparing was UNOCCUPIED when we entered. It was our flaw that we did not ask for it. This does not excuse them from the fact that we were served after the party of 7 even if we had been there earlier. If it were truly a reservation. This party of 7 should have been seated IMMEDIATELY! Travelers be wary! AVOID especially if you’re not the ideal customer demographic.
