As a island veteran I have enjoyed a number of meals up and down the island. Unfortunately today I experienced some of the worst service at Uncle Will’s. I came to enjoy a nice breakfast with family and the waitress we had was out right rude to our table, even though she engaged in friendly conversations with others. This made my entire dinning experience awkward and found that it made it difficult for me to fully enjoy my meal. There’s was a point when we had to ask for syrup when my sister and her friend ordered pancakes and waffles. She even was visibly annoyed when we asked for milk for our coffee and hadn’t made our minds up of what to order to eat even though we were seated just moments before. Very disappointed in the service.

This was a great experience as always. We seemed a little confused about the menu and the owner over heard and sat down with us to express his concern about how it can be worded better. After a few minutes of discussion and learning the history about the restaurant we came up with our final draft of the new menu. Your dining experience will only be that much better going forward. Friendly service and great food is all you will remember when you leave Uncle Wills. The four adjectives my party would describe our food was yummy, perfect, fresh and scrumptious. The fresh squeezed OJ and the friendly service are the cornerstones of this restaurant. Very kid friendly and they brought over the pig in a chair for our baby. The music they have going is perfect for your dining pleasure. I wish I lived here year round just for this experience.

Staff is very kind. Food is yummy. Funny little pig theme on the inside. If there is an empty chair at your table you can ask to have a pig doll join you! Hahahaa!

My favorite breakfast place in the world! I would list food that I like but EVERYTHING is amazing and I’m not exaggerating. And everyone is so friendly, plus the food comes out quick!

CASHONLY! Seriously it is 2016! So if you are planning on going here(and you’re not a local in the know) beware that they only accept cash, 1⁄5 stars. When my family and walked into UW, a very nice lady asked us how many, she replied it would be a ten minute wait, and out of the corner this goat looking fellow bark«wait outside». I have to tell you, this lack of hospitality is rampant in New Jersey. Albeit you will find the exception, the reality is this state, including LBI, suffers from lack of options(every business) in turn breeding this attitude of screw you patron you’re a bother. This is very much the case with UW. Speaking to customers should come across as appreciative and kind. This guy is just an ass(probably one of the owners), get him away from the customers! The rest of the staff was pretty nice. 2⁄5 stars The food is at best on par with whatever you can find in your grocery store frozen foods section. The pancakes, which are part of the locations name, rubbery and flat versus soft and fluffy, which indicates they are not whipping them in house and are probably pouring from some generic pre-blend(lame). Omelet. Ehhh it was ok, same experience as the pancakes, the eggs were not mixed in house and the veges were ok. The best part of my breakfast was the sliced tomato and the water. Without a doubt a Dennie’s or IHOP breakfast is significantly better, and more natural(if that’s possible). 1⁄5 stars One should also note that this place is packed in like sardines. You will hear every detail of the night before from whomever you’re sitting next to. I’m not sure how this place is passing fire code because the distance between tables is less than 20 inches. 1/5stars The Fire Marshall should show up here on a Sunday morning. Also the IRS needs to check these guys out… Cash only! 1⁄5 stars This place has hype because it’s one of a handful of locations to eat on LBI, but it’s far from stellar.

While I was reasonably intrigued by the pig gimmick underscoring Uncle Will’s Pancake House and the popularity of the restaurant, I was a bit underwhelmed with the actual substance of my meal. This is not to say that my meal was poor, rather it simply seemed to be standard breakfast offerings with little to no flair. Perhaps I entered with expectations set too high, as Uncle Will’s reputation precedes it… what, with lines forming for entrance and a score of terrific Unilocal reviews supporting it, but I left with an unmemorable experience. I will say that the speed in which our party received our meals was impressive and the wait staff seemed attentive enough.

Pancakes and crepes were rubbery. Hard to cut with a knife. I won’t be back. Prices were high and confusing. My husband had a coupon for breakfast and I had $ 2.00 off my breakfast. Our bill was over $ 23.00. Wow! If his was free I have never had a $ 25.00 breakfast before(remember mine had $ 2.00 off) but that was what they said was correct. If prices are going to be high I would want some quality to the food. Very disappointing.

Great Service and food was served super fast. I took away a star since they only take cash. I had Tom’s favorite and it was truly delicious! It’s obviously a must visit place in LBI.

A delightful place to have breakfast. The pace is slow and relaxed. The service is warm and friendly. I had an English muffin sandwich with home fries, which really kick started my day. That and two cups of their mild, but totally satisfying coffee.

This is my favorite breakfast restaurant on the island. The food is delicious. Prices are a bit higher than breakfast should be but food is worth it. During the summer you will probably have to wait for a table but not that long of a wait. My only complaint and the reason why I didn’t give them five stars is that they only take cash. Come on, its 2015. It’s time to get with the times and start accepting credit and debit. I had to walk to the corner store to get cash out then go back to pay. Ugh … Frustrating I had to drop my review a star. We went here for breakfast last Sunday and my wife and I arrived before our friends did. So we thought we would go in and get a table and order some coffee. We went to the older gentleman with gray hair and gray goatee so that we could be seated. We told him we were waiting for five more people. Instead of letting us sit at one of the four available larger tables. He made us stand at the entrance to wait for our friends. We had to constantly move for everyone going in and out and moving through the place. We were constantly in everyone’s way. Not sure why he couldn’t just sit us while we waited and get coffee. The place is tiny not the smartest to have people wait by the only door to get in everyone’s way. Oh yeah get the equipment to accept credit cards it 2016 … Geez

Great service — super fast! The wait staff was courteous and attentive to our time sensitive plans… We had a wedding to catch(& be in ;) We did have to wait outside for about 30 minutes on a Sunday around 10:30am, but that just means the food was bar none,(which in all honestly it was!). We had the«Van Gogh» egg dish with pancakes. I suggest sharing portions– the plates are hearty. *5 stars!

This place is delicious! Has breakfast here on a visit to LBI and this place dos not disappoint! We didn’t have to wait long, but it was nice sitting outside anyway. The service was great– friendly waitress who kept our coffee cups full. And the food was out super fast! The menu is so large and there’s so much to choose from!

Breakfast for 4 adults & one 2-yr old today. One vegetable omelette, one bacon omelette, one egg special(2 eggs, bacon &3 buckwheat pancakes), one lobster Benedict and an order of silver dollar pancakes for the littlest eater. All good, all delivered hot by a nice waitress who watched over our coffees, soft drinks & waters. Just a short wait(which I understand is unusual … and I can see why), probably because we were there after breakfast & before lunch-time. Also, of course, it was a Tuesday in mid-Sept. Only downside, no credit cards; cash or check only. Thanks to Unilocal, and other reviews, we knew that going in, but be prepared. The above outlined breakfast was $ 70.10 plus tip … or about $ 17/person with tip. Highly recommended, but bring cash … and your appetite!

A trip to Uncle Will’s is always a must when visiting LBI, and this year was no exception. Our visit was on the Tuesday after Labor Day and I was shocked to be seated right away. The service was excellent, as always. The staff is friendly and accommodating, and the ambiance is that of grandma’s county kitchen. Music was bumpin and a perfect pick me up for an otherwise lazy morning. The iced coffee served in mason jars is a great touch to kick off the meal. Mom and Dad both had the Blueberry Buckwheat Pancakes. Dad loved them — he gets them every year. Mom appeared unimpressed, though she is generally more of an egg eater. Little Sis had an omelette and her only complaint was egg to filling ratio. I won for best order as I had the tiramisu crepes. AMAZING. Excellent presentation and very tasty — everyone wanted a bite! Big disappointment was that only cash or check is accepted for payment. In 2015 we are those people who generally only carry credit cards. Mom and Dad had no cash on them, so Little Sis had to dig. I can assure you that none of us carry a checkbook around while on vacation.

I ate here for both breakfast and dinner in one day. I was very surprised to get right in for a brunch. No problems, the food was great and the service as on point. Dinner– we made reservations, I looked at the menu and was impressed. We had the avocado crab appetizers, we could have shared one, it was BIG. Also I am very specific about no sugar, when I tasted the crab salad and it was sweet, I was concerned. My server got the low-down for me and it was just pureed fruit in that amazing salad. Later I had the Mahi Mahi which the portions were smaller than I expected, but actually I believe they are NORMAL portion sizes. My husband had the lobster cakes and loved them! You can’t beat the amazing entrees we had for just 16.99! Our server kept me apprised of the sugar content in the rest of my food which I appreciated. The only negative was a chip in a cup… I love that Will’s limits its reservations and customers so the environment is intimate and quiet. It is a hidden gem! Make reservations for dinner. No credit cards for breakfast but we used one for dinner, which is curious.

Came here for the first time few weeks ago. My buddy told me that I had to come here for one thing — the chocolate chip pancakes! One thing I’ll say is go with a group of at least four otherwise you will wait longer. It was just me n my buddy n ppl that came in after us got sat first cos it was just us two. Anyways back to why we were here. Once seared the service was ok. Ordered the chocolate chip pancakes and side of sausage gravy. The sausage gravy was pretty good. Haven’t had enough of that around here to say it’s the best. The pancakes however were fucking stupendous. Ridiculously addictively good! Not a fan of waiting but I would for these lol

Breakfast as this place is killer. I wolfed down my breakfast quiche and my boyfriend couldn’t stop raving about the redneck Benedict. Service was friendly and our food came out in a timely manner. So why the two star review? It’s 2015 and if your place of business does not accept credit cards any time of the day then the 17th century called and they want their business acumen back. Who carries cash only anymore? At least display a sign outside and not a teeny sticker behind random rubbish saying cash or personal check. You’re a pancake house in a tourist town, you know better than to use bait and switch techniques.

Amazing breakfast! Usually a wait during the high season but the turnover is pretty fast. Everything I’ve had has been so good. Buckwheat blueberry pancakes, eggs, muffins, parfait, all so good. The muffins are made with yogurt to make them slightly healthier but still delicious. Their menu is pretty interesting, all of the basics with a lot of unique breakfast items. Servers are quick and polite, décor is cute with pigs everywhere. Just be aware that it’s cash only.

This place has changed a lot over the years. I have been coming to LBI since 1990 and it’s been a staple every summer. It’s used to be simple and to the point. Only breakfast. Limited simple menu options done right. There was always a line outside. Now it’s changed, but for the better. They do dinner now. They offer a wide variety of different menu options. And that line is still constantly there. We waited an hour to be seated. The only thing I hate about this place is how they seat people. Don’t seat them based on party size. Seat them first come first serve if you aren’t going to take reservations. Anyway, I had a tough time deciding what to order, shocker, but since my fiancé ordered the thing I was really interested in, I was able to order something else. She ordered the red neck Benedict, for me an omelette with pork roll, manchego cheese and sun dried tomatoes, and as the table of for of us, and order of banana chocolate chip pancakes to share. Bottomless coffee, we love you. I can’t stand when restaurants gauge you for coffee each time you want a refill. Uncle wills just kept on pouring. Our food came out real fast and it smelled delicious. My omelette was fantastic. I’m a south jersey native, so pork roll is close to my heart, and it probably is in my heart clogging it up too, but god I love it. It went really well with the nutty manchego and acidic sun dried tomatoes. My fiances red neck Benedict was not as good as it sounded though. Going to school in North Carolina for 4 years really changed my perpsective on ssausage gravy and biscuits. These biscuits were actually pretty good, and they sopped up the gravy nicely. The gravy didnt have enough pepper or sausage in it though, and I didnt really understand why the ham was chopped up into pieces. Usually when you get a benedict, you get a piece of meat laid across the muffin or biscuit. It would have been fine though if the ham was a little bit better tasting than it was. It was ok, just kind of plain. The pancakes really drove it home for us. While I wish there was more banana and a little less chocolate chips, the flavor was fantastic. They were definitely some of the better ancakes I have had in recent memory. You gotta love it when a place called a Pancake house really does have killer pancakes. The wait is a pain in the butt, but you would be mistaken to come to LBI and not eat at Uncle Will’s. Its an LBI staple.
