It’s not bad in any sense but way to pricy. The two rolls I’d usually get costs about $ 16 here it was $ 31. Had to stick with one. The sushi was good not great but good. Literally the only problem was price, limit there profits by a bit it would be one of the best.

Mediocre food, mediocre service, but great location. so conveniently located in beaver creek village. if it weren’t for the location, i wouldn’t dine here. it is also over priced but that’s what you would expect in a resort like beaver creek. it is what it is so don’t expect much!

Ok. Let’s put this into context: went there twice for the apres ski deal(3−5pm) and it was really good. They have a deal for a beer + hand roll sushi for $ 6: that’s cheaper than beer at non-ski places. The roll was good. We tried about the foxnut appetizer(fish with spicy sauce on a friend rice cake) which was indeed amazing. Finished off with a small bottle of sake which was comped because of a mix-up with orders earlier on(that happens). Great view, nice design, friendly staff(especially so when compared to other Vail establishments) Long-story short: best option by far for a value apres in Beaver Creak, possibly Vail area.

Friendly. Great view. Awesome Korean BBQ sandwich. Pad Thai isn’t pad Thai but still good. California roll good. Phở not good. Drinks of course good. They are very accommodating

We ordered the pad Thai, phở, California roll, Korean BBQ sandwich. The pad Thai is not pad Thai. It is some noodle concoction, but it was disappointing. The phở was even more disappointing. I am not sure what they did to make the broth, but it was not anything like any decent phở place would serve. The Cali roll was standard fare and the sandwich tasted okay, but there was a lot of bun and very little meat. I would recommend you eat somewhere else.

I love this place and eat here every time I visit Beaver Creek, the new location at the base of the mountain is great! I think the food here is outstanding if you know what you are ordering and the sushi chefs are great at answering questions along with the waitstaff. This place seems to get a lot of flak from the posts that I have read and I’m not sure why. Its over priced just like the rest of Beaver Creek but I always have a great time when I visit.

We had a great experience at Foxnut. The lettuce wraps were generous and absolutely wonderful, and the sushi was fresh and delicious. Service was very attentive. And we loved the décor. We really enjoyed this place. Prices were a little high, but not ridiculous for the location right off the slopes.

Typically I’d probably give this joint 3 stars, but the 2 star line of «Meh. I’ve experienced better.» really suited my experience here. We stopped in for some sushi with family after a day of skiing and riding. The décor, as mentioned is well, really different. It’s not really my thing, but something kept drawing me to look at these oversided posters with Japanese writing and figure out what the hell it said. The service was ok, and the sushi itself was also just ok. Given the price, I was hoping for a bit more quality, but it is the Beav.

Too bad we didn’t read the other Unilocal reviews before stopping in here for dinner last weekend. We would have stayed away and you should too. The service was awful. The restaurant was not even that busy and there were four sushi chefs behind the counter… and still it took 45 minutes plus to get just a couple orders of sushi. We started with an order of their Dynamite Shrimp which is basically breaded shrimp from Costo. They do a nice job decorating the plate — too bad that attention isn’t given to the quality of the food. Truly — it was horrible. Hubbie ordered some sashi hamachi… which tasted ok, but the portion was half of what you’d get in Aspen. Yes… prices and portions are better in Aspen, even at Nobu Matsuhisa. All of this was spoiling our meal but the final straw was watching one of the sushi chefs touch his hat with his bare hand and then put THAT hand into the giant pot of rice. Can you say Health Dept Violation? gross. That was it. We were unwilling to eat another bite. We were vocal in sharing our frustrations. The manager on duty offered the e-mail address of one of the managers but that was it. The sushi chef slammed his knife down at my husband and stormed away. So. Poor quality food. Horrible service. Violations of basic food service cleanliness. Overpriced. Do you still want to pay to go here?

Good edamame. Nothing else really stands out. Salmon burger was bland. Sushi not worth eating. Overall a big thumbs down. Horrible service!!!

This had to be the worst sushi I have ever eaten. Being from California, I have had some of the best fresh fish around. We order their toro, in other words, I paid up for the good stuff. We couldn’t eat it. It was so tough, you couldn’t chew it. The prices were outrageous and the service was suspect. It seemed at the time that all the other restaurants had long waits so we went to Foxnut. Be patient and save your money… avoid this one!

This restaurant is in Beaver Creek mountain village. We arrived for a late lunch and were told they had happy hour specials. We ordered what would normally be way too much food because we were really hungry and love sushi(four rolls, miso soup, and nigiri for two-people). We left hungry. The sushi is terrible. The fish was not at all fresh. We tried several rolls including their house specials. All were some degree of not good relative the amount of seasoning that hid the rotting fish flavor. We did not get sick, so the fish is stored properly. It just is not shashimi grade(by the time they serve it at least). The service was very friendly, but not very effective. We were left wanting for refills and every single item we ordered came out all at once. This includes our miso soup. The miso soup is terrible. It tastes like water plus cheap miso paste and raw button mushrooms. The price is awful. Despite the happy hour«deals,» our bill for two people was $ 70 without alcohol. Perhaps good sushi would have justified this. The pink motif is cool. The rest of it is not.

Some of the other Unilocalers liked the décor. I found it pretty repulsive. Everything inside is painted hot pink. There are large posters from japanese magazines all over the walls. The pics have japanese text with pictures of white people to… I guess emphasize the fusion theme. The food was terrible. I had the tonkatsu bento. Most bentos are served with dumplings and maybe a sushi roll. I was not expecting that because it was only $ 10. but my bento was served with shredded cabbage covered in hot sauce which they called Kimchee, canned pineapple, a few quick pickles and half a scoop of white rice. The worst part was the tonkatsu. Tonkatsu is breaded fried pork cutlet. Yes it was breaded and fried but that’s where the similarities between the real deal. It was coated in a sweet vinegary sauce which almost made it inedible. It was also dry and cold. My wife had the poke which was equally bad. We also split a few sushi rolls which were ok but way overpriced. I realize that BC is in the middle of a landlocked state at 8000 ft. It may cost a little more to get fresh sih up there. But If I’m paying more than twice the price… I at least expect a little quality. So why 2 stars? service was decent. That was the only redeeming part of the meal.

Overpriced. The sushi was not that great. I understand it’s Beaver Creek and everything is pretty pricey, but give me quality for that price. I think this was the first time I had been to a sushi joint where the sushi chefs were Caucasian. The rolls fell apart easily and the ingredients didn’t taste fresh. Not sure what else to say. Pretty straight forward. I was here with 5 friends and everyone was a bit disappointed. All of us are well educated sushi eaters and we all just left with a feeling of being ripped off. I will say the atmosphere is pretty nice. Its small, but has some neat artwork on the walls.

I stopped by Foxnut for a late lunch with my future sister-in-law on Saturday afternoon since we’d heard good things about it. We decided to spend our lunch $$ there after learning that Foxnut is owned by the same company that owns Blue Moose Pizza and Beaver Creek Chophouse. When we walked in, we both commented on how colorful and fun the décor was at Foxnut. The bartender told us to have a seat where ever, and we did. Service was not fantastic, but not horrible either. Our waitress’s name was Tabitha. We started with an order of edamame which was probably the best thing we had… we both loved that they served it with a lime. The combination of the salt and lime juice on the soy beans was really delicious! I went with a sunomono salad with crab legs and Lexie chose the Bento box with teriyaki chicken. Both were just ‘eh.’ My salad was kind of soggy and the dressing was kind of bland. Lexie told me the chicken was way too saucy but she seemed to enjoy the rest of the bento box ingredients. Tabitha told us there would be an additional $ 2 charge for Lexie’s choice of brown rice instead of white, but didn’t end up charging us in the end… thanks Tabitha! $ 36 for a mediocre lunch not including any alcohol seemed a bit much… maybe I’d return for the sushi, but I won’t be rushing back anytime soon. Instead, I recommend sticking to Foxnut’s sister restaurants or some of the others in the Beaver Creek Village! PS — forgot to mention that there was a tv in the bathroom — kind of an odd touch, but I guess it could be good for someone that spends a lot of time in the bathroom!
