Really food, extremely tasty and extraordinary but severely overpriced. The four of us had appetizers and wine and the bill was $ 260. Wow. Nice music, great. Good service.

Just stopped in for a quick nightcap. The bartender was fast and attentive. My drink was a bit strong but who can really complain about that? I think you get what you pay for here and their liquor selection is huge. I saw a bottle or two of tequila I have never heard of and it’s rare to see my favorite gin on the shelf. Tanquerey No. Ten. Good live piano talent. I’ll be back for happy hour tomorrow.

Really enjoyed the food and service here. Try the duck — mouth watering. Or the fresh baked beard they bring to the table. To die for.

We just ate at Grouse Mountain Grill and were beyond impressed with EVERYTHING! The communication in making reservations, the ambiance, the service, and the food was outstanding! The only down side was that we ate here on our last night in the area! Carlos, our server was amazing at describing our food and we felt as though we were the only ones in the restaurant with the amount of time he gave us! Truly a treat — — don’t miss eating here!

The bread basket was awesome. I figured this was the sign of a great meal. The wheat focaccia was warm and served with a pepper sauce, a wonderful onion jam, and salted butter. It also came with warm potato bread. We had the tuna tartare which was light and yummy with a lingering sesame taste. We also had the lobster marscapone appetizer which was a favorite. Then the main entrées came in which we had the duck and the elk dishes. The duck had your standard 5 spice blend seasoning which I really don’t like. It just was plain duck to me and not very inventive although they went on and on about it being so special. The only thing special was the price. It was a pretty small portion with a dark meat sausage which to me tasted gamey and greasy. The elk came with the smallest amount of sauce I’ve ever seen, a couple of drops to the side. Half of the elk pieces were tender but half were dry and tough. The parsnips were soggy and over cooked. Really not a 47.$ meal. We also had the kids brownie and ice cream which was really tasty. All in all though I had to only give it 3 stars because of the main entrées which were not spectacular. Everything else was really great including the wait staff. They were wonderful.

Wow! Grouse exceeded our expectations. The restaurant was so cozy and inviting. The live performer was incredible and made the evening. The bread service was well done and hit the spot at 930 because we were starving. We started with the squash soup which delicious and special with the arancini but heavy on the herbed chèvre. The cavatelli was made with fresh pasta(very aldente) and was so good with the ham hoc. The green salad was a nice fresh starter as well. The evening was made by the short rib. We’ve had many short ribs from top restaurants but this was the best we’ve ever had. Perfectly cooked and seasoned, and quality of beef which was local and grass fed.

My favorite restaurant in Beaver Creek and the Vail area. My friend and I try a different restaurant every evening. Last night we went to Grouse Mountain Grill and our dinner was delicious. The waiter recommended that we try the brussel sprouts(what?), and I’m glad we did. They were the best we ever tasted with bacon and maple syrup. I wanted more. Then I had the seared salmon layered over cauliflower purée, and lentils. It was so good I groaned. We sat next to a roaring fire and the service was top notch. I’m coming back next year unless I can talk my friend into going again this week!

I usually only write Unilocal reviews if my experience is incredibly memorable or really terrible. Our meal at Grouse Mountain Grill falls into the former category. I dined here with my family and boyfriend, a total party of 6. The dining room is simple and cozy, with elegance added by an amazing jazz singer. Our waiter was a real highlight: Patrick. He was a true class act, taking the time to really explain everything on the menu and answer any questions we had. You could tell he really had a passion for the food. We started the meal with a homemade bread basket, truffle tator tots and carmelized crispy brussell sprouts, and then the kitchen brought out complimentary ricotta dumplings with goat meat on top. We were crazy about everything. My family ordered even more orders of the truffle tator tots, and I wish I could have those carmelized brussels everyday! I’m a vegetarian, so for my main course I ordered the gnocchi and glazed carrots, both of which were excellent. The rest of the party had steaks, rabbit, short rib, and fish, and everyone was amazed by how delicious everything continued to be. Because we had such an amazing meal, we decided to keep indulging with dessert. We ordered the apple cinnamon bread pudding, the donut holes, and a coffee crème brûlée. As with the rest of the meal, nothing dissapointed. My personal favorite were the donut holes, but the bread pudding was a close second. I grew up in the Vail Valley so I have experienced many of their top restaurants. I’m sad we didn’t discover Grouse Mountain Grill sooner. We will definitely return for another special evening!

Wonderful food and service! All of the entrees were fresh and flavorful. My husband raved about the pork chop and my teenagers thought their short ribs were outstanding. My salmon was cooked perfectly. The carrot salad, the squash bisque, the ahi crudo and the tater tots were extremely tasty. Our server Elliott was great!

Very busy restaurant-to the point where the coat check guy was slightly rude to our party. Despite that, the food was fresh and decent. The restaurant faces the river so if you’re sitting next to the glass front, there is a beautiful view. Oysters– fresh and delicious! Tuna tartare– I have had better; I wouldn’t recommend ordering this dish as it’s nothing unique compared to a sushi restaurant Salmon– juicy and flavorful!

My husband and I were so thrilled to bring our family back to the Vail Valley. We spent 10 wonderful years here and Grouse Mtn Grille has always been one of our all-time favorite spots. To begin, our waiter and staff couldn’t have been more friendly and attentive. We were seated at the perfect table where we could enjoy our family. Overall, the food was excellent. I do need to note that since we last visited, my favorite dish has been reduced to nearly half it’s size. The other disappointing thing was that when you enter a place of this caliber, you don’t expect to be hit with a nearly $ 70 bill for 8 kiddie cocktails… Is this a Rock Resorts(new) management issue? This still is fantastic spot, but something has changed…

Wow unexpectedly amazing food at Grouse. We couldn’t get a reservation at Lancelot or Le Tour and found Grouse on opentable with 4.5 star Unilocal review. Highlight of the meal: — the onion jam was amazing with the bread. We asked why we don’t sell this! — crispy Brussel sprouts: I swear they added crack to this — tater tots with black truffle: very nice favor, truffle taste not overly strong — dry aged duck: I love duck but usually find most restaurants taste similar to Chinese roast duck. This duck was juicy with crispy skin and not fat. I would definitely come back again if we come to Beaver Creek again.

The food was great. We had Thanksgiving dinner here while on vacation. I’ve got to say, the turkey was by far the best turkey I’ve ever eaten… EVER! It was unreal how good it was. Everything else was great also, including the pumpkin pie that my wife said was the best she had ever had. Didn’t give 5 stars because the service was only marginal. Drinks were slow; refills were slower.

Wow we could not have been more pleased with our dinner and dining experience. We started with I feeble cocktails and the ability to taste the wines before settling on one. Then the dinner special was actually unreal. Apparently in «shoulder season» they have a three course meal for $ 39 dollars(app, entrée, and dessert). We got the asparagus salad, the butternut squash soup(best we ever had), short ribs with gnocchi, flat iron steak, pear strusel, and a children’s brownie sundae. The atmosphere was really relaxing and we felt so well taken care of. It was really wonderful being able to eat here during the special because we could never afford it otherwise. I hope others can come in the off season!

Let me start by saying the food was amazing! After an amazing experience in August I demanded that we eat a fancy dinner out at Grouse Mountain Grill during our 4-day girl’s trip. I made reservations and arranged a ride for us from the Ritz Carlton Bachelor Gulch. To our surprise the hotel was not recommending the restaurant to its patrons — we soon found out why. After calling ahead to see if they could accommodate a gluten and nut allergy we arrived for dinner. The hostess was lovely and seated us promptly. As soon as we were seated we ordered a $ 75 bottle of wine to split between 4 women. Three of us had our ID’s but one of the ladies had forgotten hers. The average age of the group was over 30. The manager came over, after opening the bottle of wine and pouring 3 glasses, to inform us we were«not worth a $ 75,000 fine.» I understand his stance but we were after all drinking a $ 75 bottle of red wine, over 10 years older than the legal drinking age, and in a restaurant with 3 other filled tables during off season. He had zero tact. The first 2 courses served contained peanuts and gluten. In the middle of our meal the waiter spilled a glass of wine on the woman he would not serve. I am all for irony but spilled wine is a cardinal sin. Instead of offering to comp the wine that he wasted he offered us dessert. This may seem accommodating except for the fact that we all ordered a 3-course dinner which included dessert. Needless to say we could not get out of there fast enough and no longer think of the Grouse Mountain Grill as a gem. Too bad for the chef because the food is amazing but they could hire a restaurant manager out of high school with better customer service than we received on a $ 280 meal. To make matters worse our waiter blamed the manager… get it together GMG!

Located in Beaver Creek and inside the Pine Lodge. I made reservations since it was our last night of three in the Vail area. Valet parking was complimentary. The restaurant interior is cozy, elegant and the dining area faced the bar but was segregated. Once entering I was greeted by the manager who sat us immediately at a table with a perfect view of the spectacular mountains. The menu changes daily and they have a solid selection of wine by the glass or bottle. Started off with the Colorado beef tartare paired with a nice merlot — both were incredible followed by the my main dish — bacon wrapped rabbit loin and sausage with sweet pea tortellini. The entrée was beautifully presented and delicious. I also sampled the locally caught bass filet with skin on which was also superb and yet reasonable. To complete are meal complete we finished with the poached peaches and cheesecake homemade ice cream dessert, which we finished to the last bite. Overall a terrific meal with superb service from our waiter Patrick. I would definitely recommend this establishment for a nice dinner out or special occasion.

This place is awesome! If you’re down to spend tons of loot, come here for dinner! The short rib is amazing. I also had the corn chowder, which was delicious and unique. Highly recommend the tater tots! Best tater tots I have ever had. Great food, great service, great ambience. The live music was very nice. The food was hot.

Considering them for your wedding? Read on… We had them cater our wedding in December of 2014. They were amazing hosts. So so kind to us before we made the decision to hire them. We were in Wisconsin, and used them as a destination value for about 100 guests. The entire staff was kind and the pricing was well below the value we feel we received. Food. Wow. James beard chef. Steaks. Chicken. Both great. Favorite is the candied carrots.

There are few times in life that a restaurant exceeds expectations. Our meal at Grouse Mountain Grill was one of those times. The food was excellent, simply some of the best food I’ve eaten anywhere. The beef tartare was incredibly good. But that wasn’t the best thing about the meal. Our server Racheal was simply the greatest thing that happened all night, period. What a blessing to behold a person who takes their job super seriously but manages to be so personable and just a treat to interact with. When one of the servers didn’t explain the origin of the bread and spreads brought at the beginning of the meal she ENSURED that he returned to do so. All done with the easiest smile and attitude one could hope for. Cheers to you Rachael! And Grouse Mountain Grill for a wonderful evening.

This review is solely for the bar portion of the restaurant. I had some downtime between unpacking and a rehearsal dinner for a wedding I was attending the following day. My Husband was a groomsman as were my husbands friends. The men had wedding stuff to tend to so us girls would have to find something to keep us busy. We ventured down for a quick round before needing to head to the rehearsal site. I really liked this bar, it had a lovely ambiance and the bartender was just phenomenal. I believe his name was either Nate or Nat. Super friendly and knowledgeable, he helped me out by offering a special old fashion with marinaded fruits. I love whiskey and this old fashion did not disappoint. My friend had the lemon thyme martini, which I tried and loved. The cocktails were lovely, which complimented the sweeping views of the surrounding mountains. I would have liked a seat on the patio, but it was on the full side and we were only there for one drink. We left after one cocktail a piece and ventured forth with our evening. However after the rehearsal dinner those of us that were staying at the lodge popped back in for a nightcap. We stayed until closing and maybe got a little loud and rowdy. It was all in good fun though and no one seemed to mind too much. The trip is over but the taste of the old fashion lingers in my head and heart, I must recreate the marinaded fruit for future OF’s.
