I went up to Beaver Creek for the Men’s Downhill(part of the Alpine World Championships) and after a long day of not eating(so I could keep my awesome seat in the stands) I was STARVING when I got out! The guys at Rocks were nice enough to let me in about an hour before they opened(I didn’t realize until a bit later they weren’t supposed to open until 3) and then I felt bad when I started a trend of people coming in. On top of the guys working there, the drinks and food were good! The next time I’m at Beaver Creek I’ll definitely swing by! :)

Went for happy hour after skiing. Lovely place. Good food and beer prices. Calamari was great. Nicely fried with rings and tentacles the way I like calamari. Zesty sauce with fresh diced tomatoes and olives. The wings were good too. Jeremy the bar tender was great. Did the shot ski with some new friends.

Honestly the food here was pretty tasty but the standard two egg meal here was pathetically small including 6 small potato wedges. The real problem is service, Sunday 9⁄21 restaurant was less than half full and it took 43 minutes to get basic meals. Waitress was Indifferent and a little snotty. We asked for another, tiny plastic cup of butter, and she said on an irritated tone«yes I can get you an ADDITIONAL portion». We were there with a large wedding group at our hotel and warned everyone to avoid this over priced and badly serviced tourist trap.

Big uptrend under new chef. The chef, Justin, took over a while ago and has been steadily making improvements to the menu and quality of the food. His three course weekend tasting menu is a real bargain for Beaver Creek. All locally sourced(he and his staff go to the local farmers market Saturday morning) and beautifully prepared, a three course meal including dessert is only $ 39. In Beaver Creek that is a steal. The restaurant is tucked out of the way just over the covered bridge, quite the place to avoid the crowds on a holiday weekend. Great atmosphere, but games for the kids on the deck too, and a lot of artwork in the hotel and restaurant to enjoy as well.

Cozy little nook hidden in Beaver Creek. Excellent mac n cheese and a friendly environment. Find this bar after skiing to avoid the crowds everywhere else!

Dinner was tasty but service was slow and menu overpriced for the quality you get. Guess you’re paying for the location, but there are other, better options readily available.

Visited for breakfast because i was staying at the beaver creek lodge(the restaurant is located inside of this hotel). I was utterly unimpressed. We were the only table in the restaurant at 930 for breakfast. The food was fine, but overall I think you can find much more enjoyable meals in Beaver Creek. Rocks Modern Grill is overpriced for mediocre food. I wouldnt recommend it

Pass on this place. Ate here march 2013 with a 6:30pm reservation. The kitchen was out of two appetizers and the Caesar salad. The waiter wasn’t familiar with some of the dishes. The«world’s best Mac n cheese» was clearly Kraft blue box. The braised short rib and calamari were good though.

I have eaten at Rocks three times now. It’s expensive and overpriced, but then again what isn’t at Beaver Creek? The last time I went I ordered the short ribs. I do not know if it was a fluke or what but it was so bad. Extremely dry, very little taste, and expensive. The truffle mashed potatoes were good though… My friends ordered fish and both were very good. I’d recommend to stay away from the beef. I wonder if it’s due to the altitude but there’s really no excuse to serve food as bad as the short ribs I had last time. Service was good though and they took the entrée off the bill and threw in free dessert. If you’re looking for a nicer dinner than Bob’s or the Dusty Boot, don’t get your hopes too high. It’s a solid choice if you order right.

The lamb was fantastic, from Loveland, Colorado — on the bone, rib chops yum! I had a yabba dabba doo time! Wife loved the rock shrimp risotto topped with seared Diver Scallops with lobster sauce! The layered brûlée cheesecake with blueberries was incredibly light and delicious. I never order cheesecake out, as it’s always so heavy and I hate to take food home; yet I am a sucker for blueberries. This was a perfect portion The specialty cocktails are indeed — out of this world! You just don’t know where to start, or when to stop! ;-) This place has reopened with a bang. A New Chef to… yeah, I gotta say it… «ROCK» your palate! All these pictures here are old, from the last chef… looks like he just covered everything in sauce… :-( Muchos-Kudos to the much needed new team in-house! See you again soon!

While service and atmosphere was top notch the food was just above mediocre. I had the elk scaloppine with a blueberry reduction. I’ve had elk before and love the rich taste. Apparently they pounded out the flavor from this piece of elk because it tasted like generic beef. The blueberry sauce and purple mashed potatoes saved the dish big time. Oh well

Staying at Beaver Creek Lodge with my family after graduation and stopped in for a cocktail and appetizers which were very good! Carlos, the bartender, is wonderful and anyone should go in and visit him! Went back for breakfast and the food was yummy then too. I will definitely come in for Happy Hour next ski season. Its like a hidden gem inside the Lodge(same side of street where the bus picks you up to take you back to the free parking lots after an awesome snow day at the Beav :))

Could be the worst meal I’ve eaten in Beaver Creek over the last 23 years I’ve frequented the resort both winter and spring. At its convenient location, The Rocks offers predictable and pedestrian«family» type fare, e.g. Calamari, «gourmet» Mac & cheese, a couple types of fish, lousy steaks, Cobb-style salads, etc. One evening last week, after a hard ski day, I had my heart set on a juicy, medium-rare rib-eye steak. I ordered Rocks’ bone-in version, which came with some greasy fries and a $ 38 pricetag. Wow, what a shocking disappointment. After chipping away at all the gristle and thick veins of fat, there really wasn’t much meat left. And what meat I found needed serious chewing usually reserved for flank steak. When I inquired as to the cut’s grade, the waiter had to ask the chef. He sheepishly returned with the answer that it was, as i suspected, a CHOICE grade, not select or prime, which is what most of the pricy restaurants offer. What chutzpah they have to serve a subpar cut at Ritz-Carlton prices. Rocks has a captive audience at the ideal B.C. Lodge location, and they take full advantage of unwitting travelers. Foolish me for giving them yet another try. Not again. And I have not hesitated to steer people away from this rip-off joint.

Ate at Rocks in March, 2111. Both my companion and I ordered the«bone-in ribeye». This was the most expensive item on the menu @ $ 38/portion. The quality of the meat was so far below waht I would expect from a restaurant, particularly at this elevated price point. The meat was criss-crossed with gristle and fat. I understand«marbleing», but this was just fat. There was not one good size fork-ful of beef in the entire order. I queried the waiter on the grade of the beef and was told it was«choice.» I.e., the same as I buy at the supermarket. The rib-eye I get a my local Safe-way is much better quality. And for $ 38/portion, I expect prime beef. Take your business elsewhere.

Spent a few days in Beaver Creek this week and discovered the breakfast here at Rocks. It was so good that we had to go back twice while we were there. Both days I had the braised short ribs eggs benedict, and I can honestly say that it was by far the best bene I’ve ever eaten. The short ribs were so juicy and tender. The hollandaise was just the right amount and the smashed roasted breakfast potatoes were amazing. The staff was super friendly and attentive and the location is steps from the lifts.

My family came to the Rocks Modern Grill our first night in Beaver Creek and we had an awesome experience. The Kessler Calamari was small but tasty, the Red Curry and Kaffir Lime Boullibase and Maple Leaf Duck Breast Tikka Masala were amazing. The service at the restaurant was excellent, the restaurant was completely empty so great service was expected. All restaurants in the village are spendy, but the Rocks Modern Grill was worth it.

Rocks has an attractive, modern décor that has been renovated fairly recently. Food is very good to excellent and very flavorful. Recommend the calamari appetizer. On a busy Christmas week the restaurant was not very busy, nearly every table seemed to have children. Service was the weak spot at Rocks, our waiter was stretched between too many tables and the bus boy seem to prefer standing at the hostess stand to actually serving tables. Rocks is worth a try, but needs to upgrade service to match the menu.
