I am a bridesmaid in my brother’s upcoming wedding and purchased my dress from Mary’s this past summer. Let me start off my review by saying that I’ve shopped at Mary’s years ago. I purchased a dress from them in high school and was beyond pleased with it and my overall experience. I LOVED my dress and it was wonderful working with them. Even after I initially bought my bridesmaid dress, I was raving to friends that I ordered it from Mary’s and couldn’t wait until it came in. When the dress came in, however, it was the start of an experience that was a complete 180 from the past. The major issue was getting measured incorrectly. My waist was originally measured at 24 inches. I was told that I was in-between two sizes, but the sales consultant felt strongly about selecting the size 4 for me. Since she was the one who had experience with dresses, I went along with her recommendation. The dresses came in about two months later. When I tried my dress on, I had never been so uncomfortable in my life. It was hard to breathe, I couldn’t move my arms much at all, and the material was digging into me. Another bridesmaid had the same issue, the bridesmaid that got measured with me. We called Mary’s and were told that if our measurements were off, it meant we gained weight. If our measurements were the same and the dresses didn’t fit, they would file a complaint with the dress company. I knew there was no way my measurements had increased, especially since I lost a couple of pounds. We went into Mary’s to get remeasured and I was told my waist was 25.5 inches. This is an inch and a half difference from what I was originally measured. I tried the dress on at Mary’s and expressed that I would not be able to eat or dance at the wedding because of how tight and ill-fitting the dress was. The associate stressed to me that it would be fine and clearly didn’t care that I was uncomfortable. We were told that the dresses were paid in full, the sizes they ordered were correct, and there was nothing they could do for us. Mary’s provided us with a list of recommended seamstresses and said that they would be able to let material out so they would fit better. Well, the other bridesmaid took her dress to the seamstress and just got it back a couple of days ago. She was told by the seamstress that with the way the dress was constructed, not much could come out. The dress is still very tight and fits poorly. There is no way we will be able to wear these dresses at the wedding. We called Mary’s this evening to discuss the problem and were told that the bride was«thrilled» the day we left the shop and that we were all very happy. Obviously, that’s not true. Why would we be happy our dresses didn’t fit? We were also told it was out of the question to order us new dresses, especially since we waited so long. The seamstress had the dress in her possession and the bridesmaid just tried it on days ago. Since Mary’s won’t make amends to the problem, we both have to buy new dresses. Needless to say, I am not recommending Mary’s. Not to mention, they don’t even alter dresses for bridesmaids! It was a horrible experience overall. The other two bridesmaids were measured by another employee and their dresses fit them just fine. Mary’s also made a big fuss that a seamstress would be able to make the dresses work, and clearly that was not the case. I was accused of my measurements changing when they made a mistake. Now two bridesmaids are stuck looking for new dresses with not much time to spare. I hope this review will save someone else from headaches and frustration. It’s a concerning issue and truly sad when a business can’t own up to their mistakes.

Mary’s is impeccable! I live in California and still returned home to Mary’s for my wedding dress and veil. Mary is an expert, having been in the bridal industry for decades. Karen is a phenomenal seamstress and Krista was so helpful when it came time to select the perfect veil. I appreciate when someone is a master at his or her craft, and the staff at Mary’s are just that!

Mary’s bridal has been the go to in Beaver County for many years for prom and weddings. I don’t see what all the fuss is about. I walked in on a Thursday evening to get measured for a bridesmaid dress. The girl behind the counter couldn’t be bothered till she finished her level of candy crush to help me. And when she did, «hi there honey, what can I do for you, sweetheart» came out from her mouth. I should have left then. Never call someone your elder honey, or sweetheart. I’ll get off my soapbox. I told her the brides name, and she couldn’t find it in the archaic system they use; notecards. I would be terrified if this was my wedding and they lost my information with no backup. Get with the times. She finally found it, and after making fun of the brides name, proceeded to tell me that she hasn’t picked out a dress. So, I called the bride, and she said she did, and I was the third ‘maid to order from them. Here’s your sign on why to update your system; they had three cards with the same bride, same date, everything, in their mess. When she finally found the right card with the right dress, «sorry sweetie», they didn’t have a sample. I don’t care, I just want this torturous event to be over. So she proceeds to measure me, and let’s me know that I’m hitting on three sizes, but I should order the largest of the three, because I’m more than likely to get pregnant and not fit into a smaller size by November.(I can’t have kids, so, thanks) I said, well, if I order the larger size, you guys can alter it, correct? «No, sweetie, we don’t do that.» Wait what? No alterations? Really? I left. I’m not dropping $ 300 on a dress for you to not offer in house alterations. Deborah’s in Monaca has my money. Get with the times, Mary’s.

You definitely need to have an appointment if you want to try on dresses here. Mary’s Bridal was the third salon I went to, so I had tried on several other dresses before finding the perfect one. My consultant listened to what I told her I was looking for and went off to pick out some dresses. She came back with a variety of styles for me to try. After trying on a few and figuring out more of what I did and didn’t like she went back and picked out a few more dresses. As soon as I put«my» dress on I knew. But I liked the fact that my consultant wanted me to try just a few more dresses to make sure that I was certain. Once I purchased my dress they let me know when it came in. Since I was an out of town bride, I wasn’t able to do the typical fittings. They let me do my first fitting a lot earlier than they usually prefer and let my two bridesmaids come in the same day. They also let me come in for my final fitting on a last minute trip home a few weeks before the wedding. The staff at Mary’s was great. They were all very friendly and accommodating with my ‘in town for just the weekend’ schedule.
