Been going to Sals for many years. Food is always good but our server Christy W was one of the best servers! Good suggestions without being pushy.

I’ve eaten at Sal’s twice. The first time was unremarkable as everything was OK, nothing to rave about. The second time, I ordered soup and a salad. The wedding soup was horrible. Way too salty. I could not eat it and I am typically not picky. The salad was good but again, unremarkable. I will not be going back as I would rather spend my $$$ somewhere else.

My husband decided he wanted to venture to Sal’s for his birthday dinner. We met our son and daughter there on Friday night. Had a great frozen drink and beer at the bar while we waited for a table. We only had to wait about 15 minutes for our table. Our server met us very pleasantly and quickly for how busy they were. The manager happened to pop in behind her to make sure she was telling us the specials, which she did very well. We ate banana peppers as an appetizer, they were a bit hot but delicious. All four of us had different pasta meals: chicken parm, cajun chicken and sausage, a spicy shrimp, and I had the special seafood. Oh my goodness, everything was delicious! We enjoyed the staff, very personable and all helped each other. The food was as wonderful as we remember. Christina was our server and she made sure everything was extra special and awesome for us. Thanks for a great birthday dinner for my husband. We will be back!

As an Italian American this place is offensive. I get that it’s a nice little restaurant in a cozy corner in Chippewa and it’s location is ideal. Leave it for the people who have no clue what Italian food is beyond sauce. Go to New Castle or Youngstown to get real Italian food. The place across the street is decent. He should stick with generic Italian food, not try to pan it off as authentic.

Very convenient and nice place to eat. We had 3 lunches there while on business. 2⁄3 of the meals were quite good, the other was acceptable. According to a fellow diner, the Wedding Soup rivaled his mother’s. Worth checking out.

Been here a few times and no complaints at all. Food is awesome! Ravioli are my favorite. Can’t wait to try the pizza

They are ok. They just finished remodeling so I should so see how they are now. I remember the atmosphere needed a lot of improvement the last time I was there. Then again, it’s a typical dive restaurant and bar in western PA. Maybe not that bad. I guess I can stretch to 3.5 starts.

Oh Sal’s, I’m glad I’ve found you! Traveling outside the Pittsburgh area, the boyfriend and I managed to come back here twice during our short stay. Sal’s has a slight nostalgic feel with darker colors inside and the pictures of actresses from that old Hollywood era. The servers here are friendly, and you can see they help each other out. The menu is extensive and some of the appetizers would be excellent choices as a meal alone. The Godfather had banana peppers stuffed with pork, with shrimps and scallops in a flavorful tomato sauce on top. This was a hearty appetizer. The beans-n-greens didn’t sound that appealing but this again was another hearty appetizer. Sauteed escarole, white beans and Italian sausage. Delicious! If you’re a veal lover, they do not have any veal dishes here. Lots of pasta, calzones, pizza, salads, and burgers, sandwiches. I ordered the Vegetarian Calzone with ham added to it. This calzone was HUGE. Definitely did not eat it in one sitting. I ate my calzone with a side of marinara.(ask for some garlic powder, it tastes great in the marinara.) The boyfriend ordered the Chicken Oscar. Chicken, crab meat, alfredo sauce, tomato sauce, and angel hair. It was huge. After he ate it all, he asked our server if he won a t-shirt for finishing it. Ha! The dish was good but heavy. The next time I came back, I was determined to get a pizza. I ordered the Shrimp Scampi pizza. It was tasty, my only complaint is that I wished it had more broccoli on it. But then again, I just like lots of veggies. Although I didn’t order any of the salads here, I could see they were quite large. The only thing I wasn’t so fond of, were the breadsticks. It tasted ok and the dipping oil was mediocre for me. Aside from that, everything else I ate was really enjoyable. As far as desserts go, tiramisu was pretty good. Also another heavy item. I opted for a sundae with chocolate AND caramel the second time. Wild child, I know. I had great service each time I’ve been to Sal’s and never left hungry!

Nice restauraunt. Good food. Big Pittsburgh style salads. Gets pretty busy on weekend nights. A must-try is the chicken and sausage Cajun pasta. I’m salivating just thinking about it. Cajun Alfredo aver linguini.
