I try to like non chain restaurants. Hard to do here. It’s not a barbecue place. There is no smoke or charcoal. My last order were ribs that were so pathetic my entire office lagged at them. Fries are always soggy and short. There best items are non barbecue items like wraps Service. They don’t seem very happy.

My stepson was craving pork pull barbeque„ there was no sauce on it and my boyfriend ordered a turkey reuben and it wasn’t turkey, the girl at the front desk over the phone seemed confused or that she wasn’t listening. I said they were great because I loved the fried pickles so I feel bad they didn’t put there all into the full meals. I don’t think we will come back now. For 27 dollars I don’t think it was worth it.

Bird’s Nest Barbecue is a decent sandwich shop. The sandwiches are large in quantity for a great price. However, the quality of the meat from cooking could be better. Even ordering a pit beef rare has the meet coming out very dry and overly cooked. The French Fries are good, but are often overcooked. It certainly seems that the place is not turning over food enough to make a consistent product.

Overall this place is average. They do a few things really well though. Turkey is one of them. Fries are another. Order the hot turkey platter and experience the best of both. Sandwiches are okay — the turkey and ham were better than the red meat options IMO. Seating is limited to 4 stools arcade game tables. Their catering was better than the in-store experience.

Tim and his crew deserve high marks at BNBBQ. All these other reviewers with their«underwhelming» comments can suck it! I’ve been enjoying this high quality and supremely tasty and overwhelmingly good grub for quite some time, and I recently used BNBBQ for a small catered event ATMYHOUSE. I ordered the brisket, the pit turkey, 50 wings, and some slaw and macaroni salads. UNDERWHELMED? HELLNO! My guests gushed over the food! The pit turkey is truly awesome. This ain’t some sliced up lunch meat turkey crap that you can get at the other«pit» places in town. This is the real deal — sliced pit turkey, and the flavor is REDONKULOUS! Real turkey cooked on a pit and then sliced just for your sandwich! GetUpAndGetchaSome! My choice for the wings was a mix of «mild» and«BirdsNest Own.» Mild is like a buffalo wing sauce that you’d expect, only better, and not really too spicy, but totally awesome. «BirdsNest Own» is like a thick BBQ sauce mixture that has deep flavor tones and kept my guests coming back for more. Did I mention that the French fries rock?!? My wife always steals my fries when I order carry out, so I learned to order her some of her own! …no fries were ordered for our catered event, but I’m sure Tim’s crew would’ve knocked-it-out-of-the-park if we had included fries in our order! Hell, I could see some people just ordering the fries once a week for a snack. …THATSHOWGOODTHEYARE! The slaw is noteworthy to the point that each of my guests commented on how good it was as they gobbled it up like coleslaw vacuum cleaners! …and finally, what can be said for the brisket? Well, some things speak for themselves. Go try it and come back here and tell me what YOU thought! Tim and his partner, and their crew have made me a customer for life! YourStomachSays: Get to the BirdsNest ASAP, and enjoy!

Got the all star and Turkey platters… The pork was just ok, but the brisket was just bad. It was cut/pulled with the grain, so the long bland stands made it hard to eat/chew. Just mediocre… Overall. One positive were the chip stix.

As another reviewer said: underwhelming. The food is not bad, but it’s not great either. There are not a lot of options for pit beef in Bel Air so we tried here. I have been here twice. The fries are decent. I got the pulled pork which was not anything different that you would buy in a bucket at the grocery store. The cole slaw didn’t have much flavor. I tasted several of their sauces and didn’t care for them. My friend got the pit beef and said it wasn’t that great. I don’t care for the bread they use either. It was kind of expensive especially if you add a side. The sides are pretty big though. My son got a hot dog which he said was good and macaroni and cheese which I tasted and didn’t like. The décor is cute and the retro games and all is a nice touch. It was not bad but I don’t think I will be going back.

There are not a lot of restaurants in Harford County that serve pit beef/pit ham. I ordered pit ham which as pretty good, not the best I’ve had but satisfied my craving for it. The mac and cheese wasn’t all that good. the cheese was tasty but the noodles were mediocre. A smaller type of noodle would probably be better. Parking is a nightmare. Overall decent.

I’d heard from three separate friends that Bird’s Nest was underwhelming, yet I decided to give it a shot anyway. They were right. The ribs were rather small without a lot of meat. The taste was there but I felt that I definitely did not receive a full rack’s worth of food. The fries were ok and they did give a generous serving of them — but I didn’t go there to fill up on fries. I’ve had better BBQ experiences in the area and no, I’m not referring to Famous Dave’s.

I love birds nest! Their french fries and onion rings are among my favorite! I also love their pit beef! My work will often get our lunches from here and are always impressed! The staff is always nice and they are very quick to get your food to you.

With a picture of a raven and an oriole on the front of their menu, I doubt these guys care much what Alabama thinks of their product, but here it is anyway. I was expecting ketchupy, goopy Maryland BBQ, and I was not wrong to do so. When in Rome, et seq. I went in intending to try a classic Maryland pit beef sandwich, but I was intimidated by the ambitious range of the menu and wound up with a half rack of ribs and fries. Their«Raven sauce» is pretty good for what it is, a hot catsup-based sauce liberally basted over the ribs. The ribs themselves fell off the bone, so even if you don’t mind getting ketchup all over your fingers, use a fork. Even through the sauce, I could tell that the meat was well smoked, and I thought it almost a shame that it was drowning in sauce, even though it was good sauce. But what you gonna do? You’re in Maryland. The fries are fresh-cut potatoes fried in peanut oil, similar to(but better than) Five Guys. As I said, the menu is long, and probably deserves more consideration than I gave it. Fortunately for return customers, they have it on paper. Not much of anyplace to sit, so you’ll want to take it with you, which is slightly complicated by the likelihood that you’ll have to park on a sidestreet and walk a couple of blocks to get there. I’ll try the beef next time. Their pork cred tells me it’s worthwhile.

My husband and I had been hearing raves about this place since moving to the area a few years ago. We finally decide to go try it out and were not really impressed. We have definitely had better BBQ sandwiches elsewhere in the area. The kid at the counter couldn’t even tell me what was on each sandwich so I just ordered something simple that I figured he wouldn’t mess up. Ok but not great. Oh, and parking is terrible.

Some of the best ribs I have ever had. Great pulled pork too. Sauce is not too sweet and you still get the flavor of the pork.

The food from this place is good. His BBQ pork & beef are not smoked — there just slow cooked, then seasoned & spiced after cooking. I had expected the meats to be smoked to be considered real BBQ. However, the apple brats, served with spicy mustard & sour kraut, were to die for! Kinda in a bad location for parking and really no place to eat inside(a few chairs at a counter), so this place is mostly for carry out orders. This establishment left me enough good tastes on my tongue, that I would go back and try other items on the menu without hesitation.

This place is great! The staff was super friendly and the restaurant was extremely clean. Our sandwiches and chips came out quickly and were delicious! I had a pit beef that was cooked perfectly and both of my friends loved their sandwiches. We also shared some Old Bay chip sticks that tasted awesome and were pretty unique. I will definitely be back the next time I am in Bel Air.
