Uptown Cheapskate – Bel Air

I absolutely love this branch of the stores. The girls there are ridiculously nice and so polite and helpful. I have such a pleasant experience every time I go… Which is at least once a week of not more. The prices are great too! And I find brand new high end clothes for so cheap. The only place I shop for clothes now.

I’m not sure how I feel about this place anymore. I usually always find something, but sometimes their prices are way too high for a consignment shop. Also, today I went in and felt like my mom and I were being watched. This girl was super friendly, but would come up to us like every five minutes. It felt like they were watching us so we wouldn’t steal. Newsflash yes I am black. No I’m not going to steal.
Also, the worker Haley was not friendly at all and borderline rude. Well it is Bel Air for you, and being a minority does not help.

This place is hit or miss on finding clothes (and friendly staff). I’ve gone in before and purchased a lot but the last two times I’ve found nothing I liked.
I’ve only tried to sell to them twice and I’m always surprised by what they don’t accept, compared to what I see on their racks that they’ve bought from other people. I had a pair of Nine West kitten heels that had been worn one time (before I realized the fit was too big) and they didn’t buy them!
On my most recent visit, the girl at the counter was very nice, wish I could remember her name. I will continue to stop in here because it’s convenient and because I bought my all-​time favorite dress from Uptown.

I think this place is best geared for highschool and college students. I would have loved this place a few years ago. Clothes are Very well organized, by color and size, and all in very good condition. I saw lots of hollister, Old Navy, Etc. If you dig deep, you can find some bebe, arden b, and higher end brands. Most of it is casual wear, I picked up some cute tops and beach coverups/​dresses. Their accessories are thumbs up! Coach, Dooney and Bourke, Kate Spade– all authentic! I got a nice clutch, keyring, and even an awesome brown leather coach tote I saw in the Coach store selling for $ 300+ a few seasons ago for $ 70, and it had a dustbag! Also picked up Versace sunglasses in amazing condition at a fraction of retail. If you dig deep, you’ll find some nice pieces here, and your wallet will still be full!

I love this place. It’s a consignment shop where you’ll never be in want of variety or quality. From designer purses to trendy flats to flowy maxi skirts, this is a great place to go when you want some fresh digs without breaking the bank.
Clothes are organized by size and color. Need a sized medium sparkly blank tank, or a strapless white sundress? You’ll know exactly where to look.
Prices are overall reasonable. I’m a sundress fiend and pay an average of $ 15 per dress. And they’re awesome dresses.
The merch is a combination of gently used garments sold by customers, and collections bought from retailers, much like a TJ Maxx or Marshall’s type deal. Staff is friendly and helpful.
I suppose the reason I can’t give it 5 stars is that I was dismayed when I returned an impulse purchase about 10 minutes after leaving the store, only to discover that they only issue store credit for returns. I returned because I needed my cash back. :) My fault, but I think one should get cash back if conditions are suited.

Okay, this place is pretty cool. It’s a chain consignment shop that has clothes, shoes, and jewelry. It’s neat, it’s clean, it’s cheaper than the mall or buying new. They do have some items I feel are very overpriced but hey, you don’t buy it! I tend to go here every once in a while or when I need a new outfit to go out that wont kill my wallet. One time they were doing a receipt drawing where you tossed your receipt into a bowl and the winners would get gift cards, I got lucky and scored a $ 50 dollar one, COOL! It lasted me three visits. I got a few cute dresses, a cardigan, and (I’ve saved the best for last) a pair of Doc Martian’s that were currently at the mall for 100.00 bucks for 11.99!!! WHAT A DEAL! They also have a Facebook page for each location. They will post new items that they have in the store and if you like something you can have it put on hold and they are always quick to respond, it’s great! I recommend that you give it a try!
