I had been going to this place for years and T the sushi chef always knows how to make the sushi just how I like it. He will even make up new sushi rolls for me. The service is always great, sushi tastes fresh and delicious. Can’t ask for a better place!

My husband and I love sushi and have lived all over the country. We agreed that this is one of our favorite sushi places not only because of the food but also the amazing service.

What is this? A sushi restaurant on the Westbank that I haven’t visited? Impossible! I didn’t even know this place was here until I went to Rotolo’s a few months ago and a saw this little place next door. I made a mental note that I had to try this place for lunch. I stopped in and, although it was around lunch time, it was pretty empty. I took a seat and the waitress immediately came over to help me. The first thing I saw on the menu was the noodle salad, and since I love noodle salad, I decided to start with that. When the noodle salad came out it looked… familiar. I had definitely met this salad before. THISIS A TENNOUNOODLESALAD! I tasted it and yep– Tennou. I looked over the menu and everything was the same as Tennou. I had stumbled into Tennou 2.0! I don’t know if it’s the same owner or a former chef who owns the place or what, but I’m not complaining– I love Tennou and I’m actually super excited to find another one. Since I was at Tennou 2, I decided to get my usuals because I know what I like: the Philly Roll and the Tiger Roll. The Tiger Roll is a favorite because it’s tuna and salmon wrapped up in a roll with salmon and eel sauce on top. It’s really good. I found both rolls here yummy and really fresh. The service was good and the waitress was attentive. I am rarely in Belle Chasse, but I wouldn’t hesitate to stop in here if I find myself in the area and looking for sushi.

Okay, so I see plenty people check I. Here and say it’s a hidden gem… I’m all about hidden gems! They were right. The sashimi is cut thicker than any other place I have been and the fish was fresh and melt in your mouth. I enjoyed the miso soup too it was a nice size bowl with the bento box… The salad, oh the salad… It’s cabbage and delicious! I love that it’s not lettuce. Different and tasty! Service was okay. I dine alone a lot and I feel I am kinda left to fend for myself because the server focus on bigger tables. Bigger tips… But looks can be deceiving as I too am in the service industry… And I tip well always… Really well for exceptional service, even when dining alone. Food is 5 star and lost a star for service. If you drop my food off at least stop to see if my water needs refilling. Nothing ticks me off worse than having to ask you as you have quickly turned away without checking to see if there was something I may need.

Best lunch time Sushi spot. I am a frequent flyer here. They are a very small place but they have a quality assortment. The Bento Box is a good value for lunch time.

Floored! I was NOT expecting this place to be this good! Came here because we were at tranquil salon and someone there recommended this place. We had the baked mussels, Hawaiian roll, hamachi Kama, seared squid, beef udon and sushi platter.(We were hungry). I didn’t eat the baked mussels but was told it was one of the best they’ve had! The hamachi Kama. Oh my goodness, the hamachi Kama. It was seasoned different than most places. I always order this at any sushi restaurant and I’ve never been disappointed but here, it blew me away! It was a tad bit charred on one side but the flavors made up for it! I didn’t even have to squeeze lemon on it! The Hawaiian roll, delicious!!! Very fresh! I took the mango off because it was a little sweet but the flavor it left behind was just enough for me. The beef udon was great! We are every noodle! Well seasoned, I didn’t feel like I needed to add sauce to anything! The sushi platter looked delicious but I don’t eat raw fish so I didn’t try it. I was told it was very fresh and that they would come back just for the platter because it was so good! The seared squid was not tough or chewy like some places and the sauce was very different! Good different! It was like they took items off of a typical sushi menu and vamped it! We didn’t have room for dessert but we’ll definitely try it next time! Great service, amazing food and great prices! We’ll definitely be back! Probably our favorite sushi restaurant on this side of town!

This place was horrible. First they bring out our drinks and the glasses were filthy. Then for drinks they charge you $ 1.75 for a 12oz bottle drink and if you want a refill it’s another 1.75 because they don’t have fountain drinks. The salad was like cold slaw and tasted horrible and the sushi was fair. And to top it off they do not offer any type of menu for a child. This place needs to step it up.

Their sushi is fresh and delicious. Soup is very good but I realized I’m more of a Phô fan. They do take longer than other places I’ve been to.

Great place to dine for fast sushi. Waitress and waiters are nice. Clean environment. Sushi is good. It’s a small restaurant but can’t beat good hospitality. Bathrooms are clean. Hubby and I went, spent about $ 40 for 3 good size sushi

Ever since they first opened, Asahi has been my favorite sushi bar. Not only is the food fantastic, but the service is good. The sushi chefs would frequently just whip something up for me when I didn’t know what I wanted. If you ask, they’ll do something for you too! They’re very accommodating and the wait isn’t too long. Stop by and enjoy sushi or food from the kitchen. My favorite sushi is the sunny salad.

I’m really glad I gave this place a shot for lunch. The entire menu is available for take out. They have really good lunch specials. I had the grilled salmon teriyaki and it was delicious. It comes with soup, salad, and rice. I wasn’t a bug fan of the soup, but the salad was good and the rice was okay. My salmon came out on a really hot and sizzling on one of those fajita kinda plates. Really cool. The sushi is to die for. I sat at the sushi bar and watched the guy make them. He made one called a Hawaiian roll that looked so yummy I ordered it to go. I really enjoyed this experience.

My bf and I always stopped by here to eat whenever we’re in belle chasse. And I must say this place is a hidden gem! Waitstaffs are always friendly and accommodating. A very clean dining area. Never have to wait long to be seated. Our usual orders are salmon sashimi, shrimp tempura app, squid steak, and hibachi shrimp fried rice. Once in awhile we’ll order some rolls which are Metairie roll, Asahi roll, and big man roll. Omg, everything we ate were delicious! And their prices are decent as well. They have the best squid steak bbq sauce! Sweet and savory. Goes great with a bowl of their shrimp fried rice(cook with garlic butter sauce)! *drools* Salmon sashimi always thick and fresh. Tempura big and fluffy(just how I liked it). Awesome tempura sauce. Not overly water down. All rolls are huge and fish always fresh. Especially loved the Big man roll. Great combination of spicy tuna, snowcrab, salmon, and sauces. My overall experience A+. Can’t seem to find any fault with this place. Just wish they had a sushi restaurant like this where I lived. Highly recommend this place.

What a strange place to have a sushi bar. We spent the day fishing and came across this place on a Sunday afternoon. We looked in and saw a really nice sushi bar and restaurant with several TVs showing the game. We ordered a chicken bento, beef bento, a Hawaiian roll and the assorted rolls. All the sushi was excellent. It came with the typical salad and clear miso soup. I don’t understand why folks don’t congregate here on game day over sushi and a beer. They were nice enough to turn up the volume. Definitely get the Hawaiian roll! The price is pretty standard for a decent sushi bar. Folks who come here looking for a deal just because it’s on the west bank don’t understand good sushi. Total bill for lunch for four $ 47!

This is the place my sister and I go to whenever she has nail appointments because it is so close. The food is fresh and it always tastes good. My favorite roll here is the Tuna roll while my sister loves the Avocado roll. If you decide to go, go during their lunch hours for cheaper prices. The bento lunch boxes are definitely a must order if you go. Make sure to get there before 4, at 4 the lunch orders on their computer shut down and you can’t order from the lunch menu. I got lucky and got mine in at 3:58 Make sure to check this place out!!!

I stand by my original review of nastiness. The service is horrendous. They have been bullying me to try to make me change my review. I will not. I know what nasty fish smells like, and this place had it when I went. This place used to be my favorite in Belle Chasse. I took everyone there. Today the fish was awful it was smelly and had a stringy film over it. They insisted it was fresh. It was not. I didn’t even finish one whole piece. They refused to replace it or take it off the check. I will not be back. I know what sushi should taste and smell like, this is not it.

Sushi in the Plaquemines? Yeah, it is there. This would be a 4-star review if their prices were not as steep. Reasons to go: 1) Clean store. In this area, this will always be a reason to go if it is applicable. 2) Food. Not to bad on the rolls but I am comparing them to San Diego standards. Reasons to avoid: 1) Parking. You are in the same lot with a popular pizza place as well as other successful businesses. 2) Pricey. It is not terrible, but the food is overpriced for what you pay for. 3) Location. It is next door to a place that sells good pizza… hard competition.
