This is my go-to restaurant for take-out if I’m craving Cantonese food. My staples are the Yangzhou fried rice and the braised tofu. Their won-ton and fish soups are also solid. I’ve dined in several times, and the service is average. The waiters could be more attentive when it comes to re-filling water, but overall, I haven’t had any big issues. Dishes come out relatively fast, and the portions are definitely worth the price. If you want cheap, fast, and decent Cantonese food, this place can’t be beat. I have yet to find any better options on the Eastside, so I always end up coming back here. They do accept credit cards for take-out.

Sweet corn chicken rice. I’ve been getting this there for years(it’s near work) and still love it. It’s a creamy corn sauce with corn kernels and boneless chicken chunks served over rice. I don’t know what it’s made of, but I assume crack since I’m addicted. Their spicy wontons are also really good, as is the beef w egg on rice. The menu here is unusual for a Chinese restaurant; lots of choices that I haven’t seen anywhere else(like the sweet corn chicken rice). The rating is for the food btw and not the ambiance; it’s not bad inside but not fancy either. Usually filled with a bunch of Chinese people which is a good sign(for a Chinese restaurant; really weird for any other restaurant if you think about it).

Boy had this place gone in the toilet. Salt and pepper squid used to be crispy. Last two times it was soggy and fishy. I asked for easy veggies and I received the same amount as a normal order if not more. Won ton soup was bland I’m not coming back.

This place always gives you what you want, which is an abundant amount of good quality food for a reasonable price and very quick turnaround. For example, you get a heaping amount of their fresh and tasty Singaporean noodles, probably good for 4 people, for under 10 bucks! This place is tried and true; I keep coming back. Five stars all the way.

One of my favorite go to chinese restruants. Large slection, large seating capacity, usually fast service. A favorite place for their hai nan chicken and fried rice. Though very greasy(stay away from the fried noodles). If you eat too much you feel a little sick afterwards. At the end of the day your average run of the mill chinese restruant.

First thing to remember, CASH only. Everything on the menu is delicious. I have my days I want to eat everything and anything savory and comforting. My best and favorite is my own designed Szechuan seafood soup with egg noodles-four star spicy and packed with flavors, right ratio of meats like seafood and lots of veggies. I can’t ever get tired of this soup. They have the best pork chop. Just the right amount of crunch and huge serving with white rice and bokchoy. Noone can go wrong ordering anything they wish for as they have quite a large menu and huge servings. Good for take home as well as for snacks later. It can get noisy here at times but best for big groups and brunch and/or just a quick lunch if you work in the area. I make trips here because of my favorite Szechuan brisket soup or the seafood. So yummy! Place is mediocre, not fancy at all(old school feel…) Pretty decent clean but can improve their restroom(very small space) Remember, CASH only… Plenty of parking, friendly staff.

Headline: A Heaven for Hardcore Hong Kong Style Café Fan Food: Food worth 4 stars … if you are from Hong Kong and/or like Hong Kong café-style food. I’ve had curry beef rice and white-sauced chicken spaghetti. Super good! Hong Kong milk tea is not bad but sub-par. Service: Above average. Most of the time staff was friendly. But remember you can’t expect 5-star service from a Chinese restaurant. Sometimes food took 15 minutes to come out. Sometimes faster. Interior: Clean for a Chinese restaurant. Interior not new, but pretty bright. Value: Very good value. Some rice-plates are less than $ 10. This is the best Hong Kong style café I’ve had in Seattle/Eastside, including those in Chinatown. Must visit!

It’s really comforting going back here. I went here as a young girl and I remember eating the yellow soup noodles and the big pork chop. The best part of coming back? Nothing changed. It’s just as good as I remembered. Still delicious and home-y. I’m so glad to see they still have the doll which shakes the drinks in the front. It’s like a blast from the past. This time I tried their fried tofu, hainan chicken dish, and chicken wings(zew yim gai yik). Those chicken wings are so yummy. I just thought«MMMmmm~» while I was tasting them^^. The fried tofu is also yummy. It looks a little too browned, but maybe that’s the way they are. I’m not sure. As for the chicken dish, the chicken is good. The rice could have more of that signature flavor that it usually has when eaten. The best part for me was seeing the staff eat all together. They had four big dishes prepared(two extra) and ate all together at a round table. It was really nice to see because not only is the food very comforting but their interaction together too. It seems like they really care about providing for their workers. You don’t see that very often, so I want to commend them for that. It’s important to remember the people who make the food, not just the end product. They care about the product and the people behind it. Good stuff.

I like Café Ori, their food is very delicious and the price is right. I like their fried rice and salt and pepper chicken wings. The only complain I have here is some of their waitress are always in the bad mood. They’re too grumpy, that’s why I choose not to eat there and just order to go. By the way they’re very fast, you call them in 5 mins and your food is ready to go.

It’s an old Establishment which can feature in Kitchen Nightmares for the décor. We ordered Chicken Noodle Soup and it was the worst we have ever had. It seemed like they took a bowl, added defrosted chicken pieces, veggies and added chicken broth. The food was not hot, no salt and just bland Soup! The second dish was Chicken Stir fry which had a better flavor but the chicken again was really bad. Lastly, we had chicken curry to go and surprise surprise!.. It was the best out of the kitchen. It has great flavors and chicken seemed to have been cooked well! We may not go there again but chicken curry to go is a great option!

Is there a way to give this place fucking less than 1 star??? I am writing this review sitting in front of this place, just too pissed of their service. Ordered a to-go milk tea and I saw them making the drink in front of my eyes. Everything was frozen stuff, the guy put some frozen pearls in a bowl of hot water to defrost it and put in a drink he made from tea and some condensed milk. It tastes TERRIBLE I SWEARTOGOD! I asked the lady can she do something about it as it tasted like water with bitter taste of a medicine, she said«ok I will add sugar and milk it will be better». And she did. The drink became double in quality and it tastes like fucking tea which was made a long back and gone bad. I told her that It tastes strange I cannot drink it. she said something and then ignored me and went talk something in Chinese to the guy. He took the drink to the sink trying to do something and then I told them«u know what leave it». I did some charity to them today by giving them a few bucks for no reason. I ordered some soup as well and I am really thinking if I can ever taste it. ThE worst ever food quality and service experience I have ever met anywhere around the US, forget about Seattle area!

Ordered a Chinese bitter melon and chicken over rice dish stir fried with black beans to take home for dinner. Tasty but the bitter melon and chicken was sliced very small and thin. I have ordered this dish often and was a little disappointed today. Not sure but maybe a different chef? I used to frequent this restaurant often. Cheap and good food. Service is consistently good and place is clean.

3 stars for the food. Not bad but not good either. But I add one star for the fast service speed and price. Will come back as a cafeteria.

Café Ori used to be a family staple. The Taiwanese pork chop, salt & pepper tofu or prawn depending on the craving of the day, hot and sour soup. Yum! WIth the size of my family, it’s easy to run up a large bill at a non-family style restaurant. So we come to Café Ori quite a bit as it offers a reasonable option of delicious and comforting food that allows everyone to order what they want. Or at least that’s how it used to be. We came here yesterday and I feel like the food quality has declined with a shrinking portion size. We picked up three items yesterday and all were not up to par to the normal quality. Pork Chop: half the size of what we’re accustomed to Hot & Sour Soup: extremely sour while the soup was extremely runny Salt & Pepper TOfu: extremely soggy I’m hoping yesterday was an off day since the quality was terrible. Though I stand by my statement that Café Ori has seen better days.

If you want to go to a place with no hype & fuss then this is the place. We come here almost on a weekly bases to hang out with friends for lunch. The place is big enough to accommodate small to large groups. The service is ok & the foods come out fast. Their menu has a wide variety of selections. Some of the foods are pretty good. If you want to order a dish off the menu most likely they can make it. The price is reasonable. It is a pretty straight forward place. Not fancy & no fuss. Basically go in to eat & be on your way. Pretty simple.

If I could, I would rate Café Ori 3 ½ stars. We stopped by for takeout one night at around 6, and the place wasn’t very busy. The décor is nothing to write home about, but we were there for a to-go order anyway. We ordered: Beef chow fun: this was pretty good, not too oily. Salted fish and chicken fried rice: this was my favorite dish. I know salted fish may be an acquired taste, but it goes great in fried rice. Scallops and broccoli: scallops were on the small, side, but a decent dish overall. Beef brisket curry: this was decent as well, although I prefer bigger, thicker pieces of brisket. The sauce is more on the sweet than spicy side. Café Ori is a good alternative on the Eastside if you are looking for some Cantonese food and don’t want to drive to Seattle for it. Besides, you can always walk next door and get an «appetizer» banh mi from Yet Yeh’s while you wait for your to-go order.

I recommend their Taiwanese pork chop rice and their curry! Their white rice is disgusting though…
