Nice place to check out with your friends or family. They have the bar area with TVs so kind of like a sport bar set up. And then they have the dining area. Service was on point, our waitress was very nice, attentive, gave out recommendations and answer our questions to our satisfaction. The wait for food wasn’t so bad. It’s just… I don’t think their burgers are that great. We tried 5 different things on the menu(speaking of menu, you can order the items on it or you can also make your own burger, which is pretty cool!), I tried all of the items we ordered and there wasn’t one that make me go OMG its so bomb! They have a lot of side options also. Definitely a cool place to check out. But it’s just not tasty enough for me. Hasn’t hit the spot.

I’ve been here two or three times and every time I was not extremely impressed. A lot of people tell me this place has burgers that are some of the best in Seattle but I thought the burgers in general were only average and the prices were much more expensive than they needed to be. Also the restaurant had a smell that reminds me of kids birthday parties. Kind of a greasy feel that doesn’t get me particularly excited to eat. Cool theme but overall food quality to me was just average. I would probably choose two or three other burger spots before this one.

I have been to this restaurant a few times for evening drinks/TV game viewing with friends. Very unique and up beat theme inside! I enjoyed sitting in both the tables and at the bar with smaller groups. I tried the«dork» burger on one occasion and was pleasantly surprised(not a big burger fan), even though it was a tad on the pricey side. I split one of their decadent milkshakes and it reminded me of something you would get at the old Kidd Valley restaurants. Very rich and flavorful. I would recommend this place to small groups and couples. Probably not the most family-friendly atmosphere, but the vintage comic-book/superhero decorations do make this place fun. Parking is somewhat difficult to access underneath the building, but spaces have always been available. Great for dates or small group get-togethers if you’re looking for something new and different in the downtown area.

I am a bit disappointed as I have high hope before visiting. Everyone I talked to saying it is good and have great experience. Well it was not what it should turn out. First of all the food itself is so so. It is more like Red Robin style with huge burgers and various choice except it is not nearly as good as Red Robin. Secondly the price is outrageous. We have coupon with buy one get one free up to $ 14.99. Still we spent $ 30 bucks with 2 burger and drink. If you can spend that much for burger, I would suggest you go to Red Robin. The only praise I would like to give is the service and decorations. The decorations brought back a lot of memories from childhood. You would find a lot of metal lunchbox we have used before.

I am glad I didn’t read negative reviews before we decided to try this place. Yes it is a little more for a decent burger BUT this burger place sets itself apart from the others with its inventiveness. Opted for The Dork Burger with Balsamic Onions and it was amazing. They usually cook all burgers med/well so if you want it medium, make sure you let them know. The others in my party indulged in a split Nutella Shake with fresh bananas and loved it. Definitely not diet food but hey, sometimes you just need a great burger! PS. Service was great and our server very knowledgeable. Someone else posted where to park which was useful as it is located on the 1st floor of an office building. Park in ELEMENTS garage off 112th Ave NE.

The burgers were nice and juicy, not the best I’ve had, but better than a lot of others. I tried the Tear Jerker burger, and I liked it. Didn’t make me teary or anything, but good flavor. I’m mostly giving 4 stars because of the potatoes. Their potatoes were cooked just the way I like them – crispy, not soggy. I tried the regular fries, the sweet potato fries, and the Gavacho’s Tatchos. We mind coming here again to try their milkshakes.

Food was ok. A little expensive. I don’t know if I would pay $ 13 for a burger if it wasn’t that great. The nachos tots were good but too much sauce. Everything was too much sauce for us. This place has not been consistent, maybe it depends on what we order I guess

Waitress was super cool. I came here for the Tang mimosa. She already knew that I could skip the Absolute Tangerine Vodka and charged me a modest price accordingly. I was quite surprised how family friendly it was — thought it was going to be a sports bar. Overall good experience.

Serious Meh. I’ve been here three times now all on the advice of co-workers who SWORE this was some of the«best food in Bellevue» with the best shakes and best burgers and best tots and best… ugh. The food here is OK, nothing really special or memorable. They have a cool and interesting menu with some fun names and delicious«sounding» items. However, nothing I’ve had there was really that great. Just sort of, well, for lack of a better word, meh! Actually dining in the restaurant, however, is what takes the Lunchbox Laboratory down to 2 stars. It’s always incredibly noisy with obnoxiously loud music playing, and the service sucks. Each of the three times I’ve been there which were for both lunch and dinner, and on weekends and weekdays, I had pretty shitty service. Servers who’d rather hang out around the cash register talking to each other then paying attention to us, their customers. Sounds snooty but I think getting drink refills or the check, etc. isn’t really too much to ask for. Kind of a bummer, especially since this place seems so friendly and upbeat. Anyway, they’re not bad enough to hate, just not NEARLY good as everyone keeps raving about and definitely not good enough for a fourth chance.

High quality burgers, great happy hour, fun drinks(+ strong) and a great local ownership. This is one great local small business that I look forward to seeing continued success at. It is clear that staff enjoy their jobs and have fun at work here. The toppings and sauces can be a bit odd at times(they like to experiment with flavors!) so if in doubt be sure to just get the sauce on the side. The french fries are shoestring stye and they have several great flavor salts at the table to add great variety.

OMG! This is my very first time in Washington and my friend took me here. I don’t know what kind of lifestyle diet I’d classify myself under(I primarily eat a vegan, plant based whole foods, vegetarian, and wild game meat, occasional seafood-novelty diet) I had the 47⁄53 burger, and it was deeeeelish! I’ve seriously never had a burger that I genuinely enjoyed. I totally savored each relishing bite– the crispness of the bread bun, distinctive flavor of the boar meat, the perfect combination of onion and sauces, perfecto! The severs there were also friendly and checked up on us a decent amount of times. Thank you for coming up with an awesome burger, I thoroughly enjoyed it!

My experience at Lunchbox Laboratory was okay. It wasn’t the best, but it wasn’t bad either. I’ve never been to the one in Seattle and when I found out that they have a location closer to home(I live in Kirkland), I was really excited and told my boyfriend about it. When we got there, we had to wait about 5 – 10 minutes to get seated. It was kinda packed cause we went during lunch time, but we saw a few tables that were empty but needed to be cleaned. Once we got seated, I noticed the place was small. I’m sure the location in Seattle is a lot bigger though. I ordered the Truffle Love while my boyfriend ordered the Homage to Dick’s Deluxe with our choice of fries which is Tator Tots. We also ordered a Nutella milkshake and it was the best milkshake I’ve ever had. The burger was a little thick for me(I’m a petite woman) and I only finished half and had to take it home with me. When I took my first bite, I feel like the patty was a little too hard for me. The sauce was good, but the patty wasn’t. But maybe it was just me. My boyfriend finished his cause he was more hungry than I was. Despite my experience, I’ll come back and try again, but I’ll probably go to the one in Seattle.

Was brought to Lunchbox Laboratory by some local friends for dinner. So good! Great service, great food, great ambiance, great location right off the 405 in Bellevue. Cute retro lunchboxes with different salts condiments adorn the tables. You have your choice of different burgers(chicken/turkey, kobe beef, duck/pork — dork etc.) salads, or mac and cheese. I opted for the Churken(chicken/turkey) with Colby jack cheese, bacon, onions and ranch with onion rings for $ 12.49 while my friends ordered a Mac and Greens($ 10.49) and some other kind of burger ;). My churken was perfectly cooked and all of the flavors were well complemented. They also have pretty great looking shakes. I would love to bring boyfriend back here — he’d love it!

I love their concept here, but the dish execution could use some improvement. Environment: The place looks really cool with all the lunchbox decoration on the wall. The atmosphere is good, with a mixed feeling of industrial and coziness. The only complain is the restroom, which is located outside the restaurant and requires a password. Staff: Friendly and fast. We went there at weekend lunch time, and got seated pretty fast. Our appetizers was delivered quickly and our waiter was quite attentive refilling the water. Menu and table setting: The place is famous for customizing your burgers and got tons of condiments on the table. The menu is kind of busy though. Lots of items on the menu so it took us a little time to find the section of all the side and sauce choices. It would be nice to have suggestions on the sauce and sides combinations. Appetizer: The rinds of life, which is deep fried pork skin, is hot, crispy and crunchy. Large portion too. It got a nice scent of pork fat but tastes rather plain. The dipping sauce comes with it has spicy and non-spicy versions. It was pretty nice but a little heavy for appetizer so we couldn’t finish it all and took the leftovers home. Surprisingly, it tastes even better when reheated in the oven next day. Main dish. All comes out sizzling hot and glazing under the light. After the initial excitement on the exotic flavors, — I ordered Dork, which is a mix of duck and pork in the patty. The good side is that meat is really tender and juicy, the downside is that the duck flavor is totally over powered, and there are small soft bone bit in my patty. I had to stop and spit those little hard bits quite a few times. — My wife ordered truffle love, which used black truffle cream in the burger. The idea might be good but it turns out that the beef patty over powered the subtle scent of the truffle so much, that she couldn’t tell the truffle flavor at all. — Cheese burger kid meal for my kid. It’s good that you can choose apple slice instead of fries for kid. The patty was pink, maybe too pink for my kid because he only finished half of it. I got a taste on his cheese burger. The patty part is too pink for kid’s small jaw to chew one, and it also got some small hard bits. All the buns are buttered to get the glazing look and make it more delicious. However it’s a little overdone because at the end the buns felt quite heavy. Price is a little to the high end. $ 14 for my burger, same price my wife’s burger and $ 5.5 for kid’s meal. $ 1 extra charge when my wife switched her fried for a salad. $ 6.5 for the deep fired pork skin. Comparing with the quality, I’d say the price is a little high. In general, I like the ideas of customized burger with all exotic flavors. But the execution really need some improvement.

Really wasn’t impressed by the fake«Kobe» beef or the double deep fried tater tots, but the table went crazy for them and mostly ignored the burgers. It’s really a shame because we where so hyped for this place and everyone left shaking their heads in confusion. Three of the six orders where botched, and the girl with the allergy to onions explicitly said no onions and still got onions. One order of pumpkin Mac and cheese was just normal Mac, and a burger claiming Gouda had blue cheese on it. They made her a new burger and charged us for a normal Mac and not pumpkin themed, but it doesn’t change the fact we all just felt let down by our lackluster 14.99 burgers.

We came here after a wet 80-mile bike ride! The service was great! We were able to get our orders in and pay separately. However, the burger… I feel the burger pattie was frozen and possibly from Costco! Maybe that’s another reason why the server never asked me about how I would like it to be cooked! Ok… good thing, there’s free parking under the building and it’s free!

Meh. My work sponsored a dinner here, and I’m always anxious to try new indie restaurants when I travel(especially when it’s on the company dime!). This seems like one of those places that tries to be hip simply by putting on the gradeschool nerd motif. We had a few choices of cocktails, but when I saw the«Tang-O-Rita» I was pretty turned off. Yeah I get it– it’s cool to be retro, and Tang is super retro. But there’s a reason it isn’t on the shelves anymore. It’s NOTGOOD. I ordered the other cocktail choice, some type of Peach Schnapps and whiskey drink. It was mouth puckering sweet, the kind that hits the back of your throat and burns a bit. Not good either. Stuck to beer after that. The burgers were decent– maybe a bit above average, but nothing amazing. Fries were cold(granted, served buffet style so that’s hard to keep warm and fresh). If I lived here it’s unlikely I’d come back, other than if I were close by and needed a quick burger fix.

The menu is extraordinary! I give this restaurant an A for originality and creativity. However, I find that most of their items are high in calories and too exotic to take serious. The staff is mildly engaged, but friendly. There is outdoor seating and the condiments including napkins and whatever else you can think of is at the ready and plentiful. If you have one of those days that you feel like being gluttonous and bingeing out on fried and fatty food this is the place to go. Don’t come here expecting a healthy salad though. Located in downtown Bellevue it’s convenient enough. The drinks are okay. I tried a mixed cocktail with crown apple and it wasn’t very good. I actually prefer straight liqour to the mix. If you like a creative menu and fatty foods made for indulgence its worth a visit!

Lunchbox Laboratory is an excellent place to try an all natural burger sensation. They feature all beef patties, veggie, chicken, turkey and combo meats(the dork and churkey). You get one side with your meal and substitutions are allowed and encouraged(some for an extra charge listed on the menu). Try the alcohilic milkshakes for an adult experience. The place also has an event hall called the Event Lab which is good for 20 – 60 peeps. There is also a teivia night on Mondays. Enjoy!

I heard about this place from a friend and decided to come here with my brother. When you come in its nothing special, kind of reminds me of Applebee’s or Red Robin on the inside. We asked for outside table, which was much better, had a pretty view of the city. My brother ordered one of their burger creations– don’t remember which one it was. They have a menu which changes every week/month and consists of cool new creations/combinations of ingredients. Also ordered the famous tator tots, I ordered the Mac and cheese and a chaser salad. We also ordered the«Russel Wilson»(I think that’s what it was called) drink. It was cool, it came in a beaker and was fun! The wait was not long but not fast either, which was fine because we had a lot of catching up to do, but if you are in s hurry it might get frustrating. Good was good, not excellent, nothing special really. The tator tots were just simple tator tots with a cheese and BBQ sauce on top. The burger was good, the Mac and cheese was creamy, no complaints. The drink was probably my favorite of all the items. I think this place is more about the experience rather then the taste, it’s a really fun place to come to and see everything and have fun with your food!
