This place should be called Sushi ‘Meh’-Jo. The sushi is hit and miss, and the service is consistently bad based on the three times I’ve eaten here. The first time I came here I was happy enough with the sushi, but when I ordered chicken teriyaki(a hot dish), it never came. What’s more, the waiter didn’t know or care, as evidenced by his not checking on me for at least 45 minutes. Fine everybody has bad days… But this lack of service has been replicated every time I came. The only saving grace of this place is the variety of creative American dishes– like salmon sliders. But the food is still hit and miss. Just go to one of the other hundred sushi places in Bellevue.

Well, we tried to stop by our favorite Bellevue sushi place last week, only to find it was closed :(We had to go to Blue C Sushi instead, I mean, come on… it doesn’t compare.

Just a quick update to my review — over the past few months, I’ve seen them improved their wait staff, where it’s consistently at a satisfactory level. The entire staff is a bit more engaging and more attentive with all of the customers, whether the building is completely full, or it’s during the lull before the evening dinner storm. Worth it to give this place four stars.

The sushi here is so good! If there is something on the menu you want on the menu, the will gladly prepare it quickly for you. The tea is nice and hot and service is friendly. Plus the price is great for everything!

I had a great experience here. I like the options they have, the prices are decent, and everything I had was good. Our service was very attentive, and everyone working there was extremely friendly. My only complaint was that the nigiri sushi was cold. I do not like my fish cold, it wasn’t frozen, but too cold. I was also somewhat disappointed by the crème brûlée, I was so excited to see it on the menu, but there was no crack to the top. It tasted more like flan. :( Otherwise the hot food was actually the best. I liked the calamari and karaage. I would give them another shot because they were so friendly and I didn’t get to try everything. I also think the restaurant itself is cute and cozy.

Fusion sushi. Some of the most unique rolls I have ever had. CREATEYOUROWNSUSHI! We get sushi all over Bellevue and Seattle. Sushi Mojo isn’t our favorite but the unique rolls make it worth stopping by once in awhile. PROs: * Nigiri pieces are a bit larger compared to cheaper convey belt sushi restaurants. The fish here seems to be extremely fresh. * Create your own sushi! You can actually do this at a lot of places, but this is one of the few places that has a plate on the belt actively promoting it. Tell the waiter your favorite ingredients, and the chefs will put it together for you. Give it a try! * Some of the rolls are extremely unique. There are rolls with garlic slices, jalapenos, crab wrapped with seared salmon with cheese, rolls topped with pesto sauce, etc.(**See Our Photos) CONs: * Sushi Mojo tends to make their rolls a bit larger than most places. Generally you should be able to fit a single roll in your mouth«comfortable» so that it is enjoyable. Every bite shouldn’t have to be a BIG bite where I am struggling to chew; and biting a roll in two pieces is sloppy. * Eel(unagi) rolls and eel nigiri is usually my favorite dish everywhere I go. Not here. Something about the eel here is so much more fishy in terms of taste and smell. I had a «make your own sushi» roll that contain eel… and it just tasted bad. NEUTRAL: * Standard rolls and nigiri didn’t overly amaze me. They weren’t bad, but they just weren’t anything special either. The fish was fresh but nothing made me say, «Wow this is the BEST tuna roll I’ve ever had!» It was good, just not great. Final Thoughts: Overall if you’re a sushi fan I recommend you at least try this place out once for the unique rolls. If you hate sushi, this place might be perfect for you since you probably hate the standard stuff at most place. If you are feeling a bit adventurous give this place a shot! If that’s not your cup of tea, and you are just looking for the standard nigiri and rolls, I recommend you go elsewhere. You can get the standard stuff cheaper and better at other places in the area.

Fresh garlic. In sushi. Yum. Fusion rolls are everywhere — however, out of all the kaiten fusion restaurant options, Sushi Mojo may have the most creative options I’ve seen. Case in point? The Cactus Roll: Crab mix, shrimp and garlic slices on the inside with unagi sauce and deep-fried spinach on the outside. Unhealthy, but oh so satisfying. There was also an option that had tempura beets, which gave it a beautiful reddish purple outer coating — yum. For kaiten, I actually feel Sushi Mojo gives me satisfactory portion sizes that aren’t just a plate of rice with a teeny tiny bit of fish… after three dishes I felt more than sated, and I’m still full, five hours later. In spite of the fact I was full, when I saw crème brulee was one of the dessert options, I had to have it. It was surprisingly delicious in spite of the fact it had been circling for awhile — very creamy and not overpoweringly sweet. I’ll be back… after all, there is a picture of me on their window ;) [See attached photo!]

This place is really hit and miss. Spicy tuna is horrible here and their nigiri size runs small(and the quality is just okay). They have some interesting house rolls that a tasty. Service is okay except when I need a total. They understock the conveyor belt during non-rush hours. I’ve had to order my entire meal from the waitress in afternoon hours but found plenty of selection during lunch.

Haha. This place is kind of strange. But it’s really a hit and miss. One time I was head over heels, the next day for dinner dragged a Microsoft friend and we got the Prime card discount. I’m not sure if it was the funny tasting ginger or the fact that the cali roll was sweeter tasting than I feel they should be but. Perhaps it was the really slow service. I suppose if you want cheap sushi that is curious tasting it’s worth a go. The cooked things are pretty good. Just stick to those to avoid weird tastes. If you get the Prime card discount I’d go for it. Not the worst just not the best.

I’ve been here a couple times(usually after a hot yoga session at Get Zen around the corner). The service is great, you’re greeted as you walk through the door, and seated instantly(if it’s not busy). Their sushi variety is pretty good, and they’re very good at getting your orders if you’re not seeing something you want on the conveyer belt. The Agedashi Tofu is my favorite there.

I will tel you first that I do not like sushi! However I did give it a shot with my friend Joel cause he does loves it. I loved the layout and it reminded me of my time in Japan. Though it’d been nice if they had used the traditional greeting. I have to say it was tasty from what I did try. They were even cool enough to make me a few things that weren’t floating around on the belt. Oh and they do take out so yay! Give it a shot if you like sushi, it’s definitely worth it.

I decided to give this play another try and my experience was a bit better this time. Bottom line is the quality you get here is still mediocre/average but the prices are low to match so I’m giving it a solid 3 stars. Me and my family showed up at 7:15 on Friday night. I was hoping it would not be packed like all the other places in Bellevue right then as the cheapskates were all waiting for the 8PM Happy Hour. Not sure if I was right or if this place had a food poisoning outbreak recently but it was completely DEAD, on a FRIDAY! This worried me. Service was attentive albeit uneven. I got the feeling, had the place been crowded, service would have been terribly slow. Once again, the belt was full mostly of what I cal ‘fu-fu’ rolls. These are the creative/fancy rolls on the more expensive plates. They are the most profitable which is why they fill the belt up mostly with this stuff. We once again had to order about 60% of what we wanted to eat. But since the service was decent being one of the few people in the place, this worked well. If you like tofu dishes, and the less expensive sushi(tamago, cali roll, cuke roll, etc.) you’ll love this place because it is $ 1 or $ 1.75. Probably the best Kaiten bargain on the Eastside. That night, the salmon looked so-so but the salmon belly(for $ 2.50) was excellent. The mackerel was excellent, big pieces too! The salmon skin rolls were so-so. Their sushi rice was perfect that night, not overly seasoned and packed nice and loose. However a lot of the rolls had too much rice on it. Which is bad for them if their customers are filling up on rice. Everything was of decent(standard) quality, nothing exceptional, and the Uni cups were not as tiny as last time and the Uni looked fresh(tasted a little less fresh than it looked but passable.) If you choose the right items(don’t become a slave to whatever is on the belt), and the place isn’t packed, this may be the best Kaiten experience/deal on the Eastside. Especially during Happy Hour. Their wide variety of music though may get on your nerves at times. A few times I felt like I should stand up and start dancing around the room when I was just trying to relax and eat my meal. They’ve improved a little since my last visit(a little), or at least are maintaining a decent level of quality and service. Nothing spectacular. Just lower your expectations on the service when it is crowded. 3.75 stars on the night we were but I’d say at average busy times this place is 3.5 stars. This place might even be a 4 with a liltle more work. Like get rid of the harsh«Doctor’s Office» feel, fluorescent lights in the cutesie light fixtures and put halogens in. Would make a dramatic improvement on the ambiance of the lighting.

[2013 Update] Not sure what has happened, but last two trips this month the quality has been quite low and a lot of the rolls have been cut… My favorite roll, Funky-Monkey(Unagi, Mango and Cream-Cheese) roll is no longer there… It’s still pretty good compared to the competition, but subtracted a star. Blue C sushi is too expensive, and hard to get service. SushiMaru are just rolls with fake crab meat dressed differently. SushiMe portions are too small for the price and service is non-existent. Genki Sushi is now in the mix, and they are now king of Kaiten-Zushi on the east-side. + Good service compared to the competition, water was always re-filled, quickly seated, etc. — Quality of food has gone down, menu has also been cut — Not sure how often they refill things, but where we sat there was no ginger :(

I love sushi. And I love this place. I give customer service a 4.5 of 5… it took a minute to get seated, but the servers were really nice. They were really fast when I asked for a couple things that they didn’t have on the belt, I got it within a minute or two, and they gave suggestions when I wasn’t sure what to order. I give the sushi a 5. The fish was fresh, and it melted in your mouth. It has to be the best sushi that I have ever had in Washington. The prices are awesome. they range from $ 1 to $ 3.75 a plate, and the food is of a high quality. I especially like the escolar and the soba. Not to mention the pesto roll was simply awesome. The only thing that I can say against it is that the things aren’t labeled. So was it worth the trip down from Marysville? I would say so. The price of the sushi is cheap enough that the bus fare was easily made up for, and the quality was so much better.

Wow! This place is amazing! Went here tonight and was blown away by the assortment of plates, the quality and freshness of the sushi and how attentive and friendly the staff was. The restaurant was immaculate, and we liked how the chopsticks and soy sauces and wasabi was presented at the counter. I can never go back to SushiLand, which is a few blocks from my house, It pales in comparison to this place in terms of cleanliness, freshness and variety. Our bill here was higher than it would be at SushiLand, but it was so worth it!

Went there again for the Happy hour and was very dissapointed with the food quality and the whole experienced. Not only the Nigiri cut soooo thin that you can see through the meat it quality went down hill as well. Much worst than when I went there last time during regular hour. Uni was a huge dissapointment as it taste old and very fishy, not to mention it came out with stale seaweed wrap. Service was alright. however one person there who I assume is the owner or manager was very rude. Definately won’t come back any time soon.

Have to give 5 stars to the Happy Hour menu. The rise of conveyor belt sushi continues with this latest Sushi place from the same owners of Yama at the Galleria. The Happy Hour menu is extensive and priced at 2-for-1 on matching coloured plates makes this the deal of the century, especially when the rolls and nigiri are quite tasty. Our huge stack of plates amounted to $ 20 between two people, and the stack was tall enough for our view of the staff to be blocked. Some of the interesting selections included the Seaweed salad sushi, the pesto roll, and the Mojo rice cake. Best deal in the area.

THEGOOD: This is a good to great everyday sushi place for us middle classers THEBAD: The selection isn’t as good as traditional sushi restaurants THELOWDOWN: This place is better than Blue C, and better than Aa Sushi. The décor is nice, its not loud, there is plenty of seating, in fact its nice because you can belly up to the conveyor belt or sit at a normal table. Being my first time here, I overdid it because I sampled so many different plates, but still came out of there around $ 20. Check out the photo of plates. Another nice thing is they had little things on the belt that told you about a roll that was coming up, and also had reminders that you can order hot foods and non-belt foods like udon noodles, agadashi tofu and then like. Well done, and will definitely be back.

Microsoft Prime 2009 – 2010 Ambiance: 4 Food: 4 Value: 4 Restoring my faith in conveyor belt sushi places. UPDATE: Like In-And-Out-Burger, there off-menu items: all top-shelf stuff and amazingly good. Totally, upgrading this place. The Salmon Belly is excellent. They also had this fresh shrimp thing where they serve fresh raw shrimp sushi and plate it with the deep fried head(the head’s actually pretty tasty)
Sushi Mojo is good conveyor belt sushi place at a reasonable price. It is spacious and nicely decorated; in addition, it has enough interesting dishes to please a foodie, all at a pretty good value. The cactus roll with it’s spinach tempura coating or the Cajun seared tuna are all worth sampling. The chef used to work at a high end Japanese restaurant, but decided to offer higher end sushi in an approachable manner.(He told me this… I don’t know how much of it is actually true) I like this place better than the other conveyor places, Sushi Me(very mediocre) Blue C(over rated) Sushi Yama(Good, but poor setting), Sushi Land(truly over priced). The prime discount here is 20%. Not the best discount; however, the place isn’t too expensive(not like blue c) plus happy hour 8 – 9 is 2 for 1. Beer is $ 3.50 all day everyday(not bad) Some tips for conveyor sushi: It’s conveyor belt, of course it’s going to have sat out there for a while, what are you expecting?! The way to order something fresh is to ask for it explicitly, then they make it for your fresh; it’s the same price. The belt is mostly for show, if you just want something fast, or just want to try something on a whim.
