Got food poisoning after eating here last night. Vomiting and diarrhea all night and had to go to the doctor this morning, had to get blood tests done, was prescribed antibiotic and I have to eat bananas, rice and toast for the next 2days. I know it wasn’t anything else I ate yesterday because I had cereal for breakfast and a pb&j for lunch. The only thing I had that my bf didn’t is the baked fish, so I’m guessing that’s what it was. Called to try to speak to the manager to let them know and got put on hold for 11 minutes. I hung up and kept trying to call back several times, hold music comes on and then after a bit a message saying no one is available to answer comes on. I wish I would have eaten in… would have saved $ 30.00 and a night of pain. I used to like this place, but never again. They must not be on top of their temperature logs.

Don’t people realize how RETARDED they look standing in line? I can’t believe there’s a line for this place. Dont you freaking people have food to eat at home? I drive by there and see people looking stupid in that line, like you cunts haven eaten for days. What a rip, get a life. Sorry just had to come here and let you guys know how retarded you cunts look.

Been here twice thinking the second time would be better after it had been opened for awhile. Not impressed. Didn’t care for the food and won’t be returning. Waitress on the other hand was very cool.

I now get it. Every time I drive by, parking was a mess. That combined with some of the reviews made me not want to come in. Glad I did. Got there at 11:05 am. Already a big line. It moved fast. Food was awesome. The salad bar(fresh selections) and veggie bar were worth the price alone. I made a fabulous salad and even got Brussels sprouts. Yummy. The dessert bar was just ok. Chocolate fountain with fresh strawberries very yummmyyy. What I didn’t care for was the rush of people and lack of manners with some of the customers. I can also see how messy the place can get. Our server wasn’t available until about 15 mins after I sat down so I ran out of tea. It was hard to get it refilled. Will definitely be back. I hear that breakfast and dinner are fabulous.

Great tasting Food Friendly service. The only downside is the wait time. It’s almost unbearable almost. So if your willing to wait an hour in line(no exaggeration) then this is your place.

This place has completely ruined a birthday experience. We signed my mother up for their loyalty program in which she is supposed to receive a free birthday buffet. This was the plan and everyone was very happy about this. We drive well over 45 minutes through traffic just to find out that due to the fact that we do not own a printer she would no longer receive her loyalty reward. I have been to another GC that was able to use the email to go ahead and enter the code, and the manager at this location refused to. Idk why they’d call it a loyalty program if they weren’t gonna be loyal to their customers. I don’t think I’ll be returning to this location any time soon if at all. Instead of coming here visit the Wood Grill Buffet on imperial Blvd in the city of norwalk. They know how to treat their customers.(I have no affiliation with the Wood Grill Buffet, I just know good food and customer service when it’s presented .)

Crowd Control sucks, they let too many people in too fast, causing everyone to stand around making it look like a DMV. Other than that the Food is okay and Customer Service is good. I actually feel bad for whoever has to make the steaks, respect to you man, cause I couldn’t deal with that big a crowd.

I do not understand what the hype is about with this establishment. Whenever I drive past this eatery, there are people in line, and around the corner of this place. I figured it must be serving unique dishes that are so flavorful, that people are willing to wait over an hour to eat here! So fast forward to yesterday afternoon, Friday, January 15th, my wife and I decided(against her will) to eat here. There was not a line so I figured we came at a good time, less busy with available parking spots. We walked in and got our drinks, and paid the cashier. It was a $ 10.99 + $ 2.29(sweet tea) x 2 people kind of lunch. We waited no more than two minutes and were seated across the dessert area. So I grabbed a colorful plate, and walked the line, checking out the menu. And let me tell you: I was disappointed! The menu was very similar to Hometown Buffet, and I hate Hometown Buffet! The food was okay, leaning more towards the bland side. The lo mein didn’t taste good, the baked fish was bland, the pot roast was not moist/juicy(and was dry), the clam chowder was very watery, the chicken noodle soup was more broth than chicken or noodle, the corn was super soggy, the spaghetti was too cooked(not al dente), they had missing food items but had the labels for them. I can honestly say that the only good food item I ate was their yeast rolls. The wait staff was nice but a bit overwhelmed, that when I called our waitress, she just looked at me and didn’t motion or say anything. In fact, I had to walk over to their fountain drink station to get refills on our drinks. Which leads me to ask the question again, as to why is there always a lot of people in line to enter, wanting to eat here? Maybe it was just me. I’ve read some of the reviews posted on here, and clearly, some of these people do not — or have not — really eaten at very exclusive buffets. The funny thing I read while at Golden Corral, was a little slogan which read, «The best buffet in the USA.» I think that statement is quite accurate, if Golden Corral was the ONLY buffet restaurant in the USA! But don’t take my word for it! That’s just my two cents!

Came here today with my boyfriend for the first time. Line was pretty long, waited about 10 minutes. Got a table fast. A lot of varieties of food and when certain food trays were emptied, they were shortly filled again. Only complaint was that the line moved pretty slow. Overall, I’d definitely come back again.

Went for breakfast twice. I may never go back Hometown Buffet again. The quality and quantity are amazing. Got there right after eight both days and was glad. At nine the crowd started coming. I like all especially that you are brought your drinks

Unilocal challenge 2015285⁄365 **sing along time… Taylor Swift Blank space** Nice to find you, where you been You can feed me yucky things Pizza, chicken, never ends Saw your sign and I thought Oh my god look at that line You look like my next review Hungar’s a game Wanna eat? New venue, long lines I can see it, like a mile away Aint it funny, all the reviews And I know you heard about Golden Coral So hey, Lets go eat, Dying to see how this one tastes Grab your plate, and a fork I am getting full for the weekend. So, we can eat forever Or its going down our face You can tell me when your full If the food was worth the wait Got a long line of people Im telling you its insane Cuz you know I love the buffet And you love to eat. We’re hungry and ready Eat it way to far Its ganna leave you stuffed Or with a nasty tummy ache Got a long list of bookmarks Im telling its insane Ive got a review And I“ll write your name — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — Driving home on the 91 eagle eyes spots the sign again for Golden Corsl. After passing the exit he says he wants to eat there. So he backtracks on the 91 to fullfill his mission. I kept my lips zipped about ridiculous lines, mediocre food, low ratings and let him try it. Yes there was a line. A very long line at 5:15pm on a Sunday. By 5:3050 more people were behind us. By 5:37 we had not moved and it begun raining. By 5:55 we made it inside and there was another line. This is where it gets nasty. People cut and bump into you. These are grown adults trying to sneak up to the front. They give the same line, «oh my party is up there» One gentlemen cut the people behind me, then tried to cut in front of me. That wasn’t happening. Somebody put him in his spot. Possibly even scared him for a whole 10 seconds because he ended up cutting again, saying his party was already at a table. His party must of been imaginary because he was sitting solo with 4 plates of food in front of him. There had to be easily another 60 people packed in like sardines in the section where you get your drinks and pay. People of all shapes and sizes. Fortunately I was able to overhear multiple conversations. By the end of the line I felt I knew their life story. But seriously, if there is an emergency there is nowhere to go. Your shoulder to shoulder inside. They need to regulate how many people they allow inside. The minute you walk up to the register you are lured to the grill where they are firing up at least 50 steaks. The smoke rises into the air. Kind of gets you excited. Might as well get out your pin and burst your bubble right now. Because the excitement lasts whole 5 seconds. The buffet line is set up according section. The greenhouse, the wok, the hacienda, roadhouse, ect. Exciting names, but that’s pretty much it. They have everything you would expect a buffet would have from fried chicken, ham, steak, pizza, salad, soup, noodles, side dishes and desserts galore. Most everything was dry, overcooked and bland. Deserts were the golden ticket and my favorite part. Fudge and cotton candy were my favorite. The lines are crazy just to get food. Children running around unattended. One even tried taking my cotton candy away from me that I stood in line for. Took it right out of my hand. Yes I got it back when the employee told the kid she needed to stand in line. Kids were running everywhere carrying ice cream cones, cotton candy and plates of cookies. A few times they called out on the intercom not to leave children unattended. Cant really blame the parents because they were just as bad. Eating in line. Licking their fingers. Overfilling multiple plates, which most of their food was wasted. Talk about over eating… Yuck! Dinner $ 12.99 without a drink. Drinks were another $ 1.99. Neither one of us liked it very much. Service was just okay. The employees were really friendly but it took a while to clear plates and refill our water. Just ok. I think it is all hype because it is the only GC around. #761

This place is great! Too bad the Line out side can be longer than the one for Space Mountain at Disneyland sometimes! I have found my new favorite buffet, which in my opinion is way better than that other Hometown place. The food is mostly traditional American stuff, with your Breakfast, salads, fruit, main course(lunch, and dinner) as well as desserts. The staff here is friendly, and helpful. There is plenty of parking available, though depending on what time you go it may be hard to find a spot and so is the line outside. It could just be a few people, or it could wind around the block. It depends on what time you go, so I suggest not to go during the breakfast/lunch/dinner rush or holidays.

The menu here is American Comfort food with a bit of a Southern/Soul food vibe. Timed our visit just right before the mad lunch rush — (Fried chicken, French Fries, mac and cheese, cheesy grits, collard greens, roast beef) Omelets made to order(good but eggs from a carton), however breakfast items were not available right at 1030 am though, so if that’s what you wanted… I enjoyed the buttermilk biscuit with sausage gravy . A lot of dessert options and the much ballyhooed chocolate fountain. Parking pretty spacious. Great customer service from our waitress — Britney. We were about 30 altogether in the group and that’s a lot of water, coffee that had to be served. Forgive me, but I believe it’s customary(or at least shows your appreciation) to leave something for you waitress even at a buffet place. They still come by to clear your plates and refill drinks.

Came here for dinner on a Wednesday night so it wasn’t that crowded, tomorrow’s thanksgiving so I guess that could be why. The food isn’t as bad as some of the reviews have mentioned. It’s better than other buffets where the food has virtually no taste to it. But I was a little disappointed by the apple pie and the ice cream, tasted kinda weird to me I don’t know. Other than that the food was fine. Maybe it’s just the desserts. The cotton candy machine was broken so I was a little bummed out about that I love getting cotton candy whenever I’m here lol. Staff is eh The only other location I’ve been to is the city of industry

I finally got in! Third time trying. I almost did not come because of some bad reviews but my robust friend said this place is great! If you want to know where the best food is… Ask your fat friend! Just kidding, please no e-mails. Lunch time is the best time to come. Everything was fresh. I must admit the food was tasty. Definitely worth the trip from LA. This place fills up quick. You can’t blame the staff for overcrowding. They are really working hard. Plenty of food choices. Thus is an upscale version of Homestyle Buffett. Not Vegas quality but good. So… To quote the worst governor in CA history: «I’ll be baaaack»

It was ok. Wouldn’t say it’s great. It has many choices but it’s kinda a circus or zoo with so many people in such a small restaurant. The islands that hold the food or desserts were not built correctly for large crowds. If you want to get something you have to wait behind someone while they move along. The restaurant has two sides to sit but you figured they would have built this place bigger and made two sides to offer food, not just three islands and both sides of the restaurant need to use them. It was ok, food was just ok, nothing stood out unless the pudding I had, now that was delicious. Staff is okay. Place was a bit messy even at 10:30am. Might come again to try other dishes. I had : Scrambled eggs(have had better) Bacon(ok) Sausage(nope) Hot Links(so good) Enchilada(joke) Fried Chicken(oily) Spaghetti(nope skip) Biscuit(good) Pudding(delicious) Carrot Cake(not good) Cookies(Chocolate Chip are good) Try it for yourself. My girl said there is always a long line, maybe for dinner because that line never made it out it’s doors since I was there. Private lot that I’m sure gets full quick. Go early, avoid the possible long lines. Staff was attentive and polite.

So, Im finally getting to write my review on Golden Corral. This review is based on last night. We tried to go a few weeks back, but the line was wrapped around the building. No thanks. So we tried a Thursday afternoon. Around 4pm. There were no huge lines yet, BUT, the restaurant was crowded inside. We paid, I don’t know, like $ 13 a person, something like that. Right off the bat, Im going to say that the food is much, much better than Hometown Buffet. Everybody else is throwing their two cents in on comparing the two, I guess I will as well!!! There are positives, and negatives to this place. First, the food is made out in the open. So you can see what the people are doing with it. Everything we tried was hot, and fresh. There are MANY, MANY selections. I was happy to see a «Breakfast» section with eggs, waffles, bacon, etc. in the early evening. They had something for EVERYONE. For sure. Salads, Breakfast, full dinner options, full dessert bar with cotton candy, and a chocolate fountain. Here are my problems with the place: Its WAY too crowded in there. Its like they pack as many people in there as they can. You can hardly move. Im serious. You feel like people are just breathing down your neck at all times. If you do not like that kind of environment, do not come here. The wait staff needs some serious training. Our waitress was fabulous… BUT some of the other wait staff were just rude. Seriously, kinda ghetto, too. If you want professional wait staff. Do not come here. While we were eating, there was some weird, shady guy hanging around our truck in the parking lot. We could see from our seat. My husband kept watching… we had just been shopping. We were nervous this guy my break in. But he did’nt, he finally walked away. Finally, and my biggest complaint, is that parents do not watch their kids. Its the same at Hometown Buffet, but this place seems to have even more youngsters running around, trying to stick their filthy little hands in the food. BOO!!! Escort your children people!!! Would we go back??? My husbands opinion differs from mine. My husband would go back in a heartbeat. Me??? Perhaps in the morning, or early afternoon, on a weekday. Other than that, nope. I will never, every wait in the lines that I’ve seen at this place. Its good, but NOT that good.

I know it might be weird, but it is one of the best franchise buffet I ever had. I don’t really like going to a franchise restaurant because I’m afraid it might taste ordinary. I’m surprised that this buffet is top notch for my liking. My friends and I went here after playing basketball and we’re hungry. This place is huge and they have their server serve you your drinks. We ordered their horchata and it was refreshing. They have all kinds of American food from fried chicken, spaghetti and meatballs, tacos, and salads, etc. What stands out from the rest is their grilled steak, which is freshly grilled right infront of you and it’s unlimited since its a buffet. You really get what your money’s worth! The steak is so tender and juicy that it melts in your mouth. You can request to be medium rare or well done. They have their own chocolate fountain too. For an $ 11.99 dinner. So worth the price. My friends and I enjoyed it! We’re definitely coming back!

It’s difficult to admit because there are so many things wrong with this place BUT I have to say that the food here is surprisingly, pretty good. Well, as good as it can be for a place that herds people in like cattle through a bottle neck entrance way, moooo… BUT, again they really do their staples well. Great baked potatoes, both sweet and regular. Really decent fried shrimp and fried green tomatoes. Good salty steak, cooked the way you want. A solid mac-n-cheese. Good desserts, soft serve«ice cream» with cookies, pies and cakes. Oh, they also have a chocolate fountain… which I didn’t get to because of all the kids sticking their fingers and hands in it… yum. When you’re hungry for«American food» this place will hit the spot. A couple notches above Home Town Buffet but I’m not sure the line/wait is worth all the hype.
