Bad service, food is not that good. Service overall, poor. Bathrooms are ridiculous and the customer service you get there just not satisfied.

Tried this location for breakfast. I had frequented the Cerritos and Buena Park locations before they closed down. I thought the breakfast was A-OK. It was early in the day and there was enough restaurant traffic so the food was pretty fresh. The service was good. The friendly lady at the omelet counter must have had the heat turned high as she finished my omelet a lot faster than I recall from my other HTB experiences. I think their fried chicken is as good as you’d get anywhere else. I really like their coffee. The only item that I thought was below PAR was the Belgian waffles which were on the soggy side. Again, everything else was fine.

Anyone giving this place 5 stars seriously needs to consider some therapy and or is the owner planting fake reviews. The food here is pure Grade A slop! The salad bar is loaded with lettuce’s that look like they were flooded in Hurricane Katrina. The salad dressings are even more watery than high school cafeteria dressings. The taco bar is mediocre but nothing to write home about. They have hot food that looks like it was warmed out of the freezer. They are usually out of steak and the roast beef tastes like my grandpa’s underpants. Yikes! It’s just a depressing experience that wouldn’t wish upon my worst enemy.

Not sure why everyone seems to hate this place. The food is fine. The floors are dirty(duh it’s a buffet with lots of people). The workers try hard but seem overwhelmed. For $ 30 for dinner for four with coupons, seriously it’s cheaper than McDonalds. Give them a break.

HomeTown Buffet was very accessible to individuals with disabilities. They had eleven handicapped parking right in the front of the restaurant. The doors to the restaurant were wide enough for someone in a wheelchair to easily go through. When we were inside the restaurant, it was easy move around and if someone was in a wheelchair, they wouldn’t have any trouble. Also, the buffet table was easy to reach for us. We saw someone who was in a wheelchair and she looked like she didn’t have any problems getting her food. To start with, the food was good. There was a variety of food to choose from, and the food was filling. While we were eating, the waitress was very nice and came to pick up our plates se our table was pretty clean. The only comment we had about the food was that though it was good, it wasn’t as hot as we would like it. Lastly, on our way out we asked the waitress to take our picture and she was friendly enough to take many pictures. We would recommend this restaurant to friends and family.

For some reason I love hometown buffet ! It’s the chicken soup and the fried chicken that I love the most. Most of the foods served are bland and mediocre. It’s not aesthetically pleasing as well inside the place. It’s like a go to place if you wanna eat a lot that is very affordable. The servers are very attentive too even though sometimes it gets super busy. To tap it all, I’m a happy customer

Food Was good I just don’t like the fact of eating in plastic plates or drinking in plastic cups like little kids, besides that I like the food and they surprised me with the wonderful idea they had for Valentine’s Day, they had free raffle tickets for Valentine’s gifts, and they where calling numbers during dinner, great idea! I won! free meals for two, a nice jar of mints and flowers! Thank you HTB

I’m pretty upset. I came to this hometown on Christmas Eve and its states on their holiday hours they’ll be opening at 10:00am and its now almost 10:10am and still no doors are open. I’ve tried call several time to see of anyone is in but no answers as well. There is a line forming up here and Itll be one less customer after I post this review. I highly do not recommend this place.

This is where I go when I want to splurge on American food and when I’m too lazy to go to Denny’s. Maybe I go on good days because every time I go here, there’s barely a line snaking out the door like way back when. Back then they also used to have cards listing what kind of food would be out on certain days. Nowadays, it seems to always be taco day which I’m not a big fan of and I can’t find any list telling me what day serves what. I dislike that drinks are separate from that attractive looking price on the window but that seems to be how most buffets roll now. On the bright side, their drink selection and dessert offerings are pretty damned good. They have chocolate milk which I only ever see at donut shops.

Seriously surprised that this place hasn’t been shut down by the health department yet. One of the dirtiest restaurants I have ever been to. We only came in the first place because my daughter got a certificate from school for a free kids meal. We will NEVER go back here. The place was trashed, dirty dishes piled up, dirty floors, fountain area filthy and broken. HORRIBLE. Do not eat here!

We just ate here. The food is disgusting and lack of options. No selection, it’s all crappy food. For $ 15 I could make better food at home! Not going back sorry.

If you like potatoes 5 different ways(baked, satueed with onions, mashed, cris-cut French fries, and potato salad) and warm pudding then this is the place for you. Lots of food but real lack of meat besides chicken. No beef beside beef patties in gravy and taco bell like beef taco filling and no ham. There are other restaurants with lunch buffets or lunch specials(East Side Mario’s and El Torito for example) in the area to settle for mediocre or subpar food. Almost forgot, other patrons(adults not kids) grab at food with their bare(hepatitis ladened) hands. YUCK. CLEAN(?) UTENSILSHADFOODSTUCKONTHEM. YUCK.

We did a lazy christmas this year. Which worked for me since usually do all the cooking and buying. The manager on Christmas was very nice and took care of all the seniors with a discount including me. :) What a great Christmas present. The food was at hometown buffet and we all know how it taste. They had a Santa Clause and Mrs CLause present to take with pictures with the guest if they want to. Overall, it was a kickback day and the carver for the ham was a little lady hispanic cutie who didn’t mind me bugging her about the other dishes that ran out. She went right back there several times and took care of that. Oh yeah the hame was good, I don’t eat it frequently but i ate it on Christmas.

I got a coupon in the mail that said I could get a breakfast for $ 4.99, and having not eaten at a HomeTown Buffet in over 10 years, I decided to give it a shot. I mean, why not? They do say that breakfast in the most important meal of the day. I guess after my breakfast there, I know why they were giving out coupons at an average price: the food there is of average quality. I can’t speak for the lunch or dinner there, but the breakfast was okay in my opinion. When I first entered the buffet at the Southeast corner of Candlewood and Graywood, the line wasn’t too long, and within 5 minutes, I was served by a waitress named Cathleen. She was the only employee I interacted with during my visit there, and she was pretty nice and courteous. She did offer me unlimited drinks, but it would have been $ 2.50 plus tax(about half of what I paid for my breakfast), so I passed on the drinks and just went with water. I started out with some scrambled eggs, a tri-tater, a sausage link, a couple bacon strips, and some potatoes(hash browns and diced potatoes). Wasn’t too bad overall, but didn’t have as much taste and flavor as I had hoped. Also, I didn’t know that they had ketchup until Cathleen came by my table and I asked her well after I had finished that plate. Why would they put the ketchup by the Mexican food instead of having ketchup bottles on each table??? Ever heard of «Do You Like Waffles?» by Parry Gripp? It goes a little something like this: Do you like waffles? Yeah we like waffles! Do you like pancakes? Yeah we like pancakes! Do you like French toast? Yeah we like French toast! Do do-do do can’t wait to get a mouthful! While I was eating my next plate, which consisted of a waffle, chocolate chip pancake, and a French toast, I kept singing the song in my head, but I replaced the«Yeah we like ______!» with«Not when they’re tasteless!» and the last line with«Do do-do do I should have gone to IHOP!» Overall an okay buffet, but I probably should have gone to the next door Souplantation instead. I’ve been to Souplantation in San Diego, CA and Sweet Tomatoes in Tucson, AZ before, and I was pretty satisfied with my visits there. To HomeTown Buffet? Not so much. I probably might return to HomeTown Buffet only to see if their lunch and dinner items(and maybe the breakfast items that I didn’t get a chance to try) are of subpar quality as well.
