The coffee is top-​notch. It’s like they’re pouring sweet blissful dreams from a narwhal’s tusk into every cup. If it’s so great, then why only four stars? Well, because there’s another coffee place in town which I think worthy of five stars that has better food options.

So the electric chog is amazing here. I usually go for my usual black coffee, but when I get fancy coffee drinks, I go here. They are always very good. I also got my mom some coffee beans from here for her birthday, and she loved them! I also want to mention that I love the rotation of art here. It’s such a cheerful place to go – especially if the gloomy days are getting you down.

Came in here to use their wifi and instead I was greeted by a barista singing along to the safety dance claiming it was his jam! The espresso was great! Only 4 stars because I think that they can do a little better with their inside ambiance as its on the crowded side. Overall awesome place to stop by

Really good espresso drinks in this little corner shop in the heart of downtown B’ham. Rich and smooth, obviously crafted by some experienced baristas. However, the last time I was there, my americano was just warm. So disappointed as I was walking down the street. Also, ordered a hazelnut latte for my friend and was charged $ 3.85 or something close to $ 4… And I didn’t think anything of it until they handed it to us and it was in an 8 oz. cup!!! What?! I think it must have been a mistake… But screwed up our entire order? Probably won’t go back and chance it again. Really don’t like wasting money. Not a huge selection of food either.

I first fell in love with the Black Drop a few years back when I lived near downtown and wandered in on a particularly blustery Bellingham day in search of warm, caffeiney (is that a word?) goodness. I ordered a French press and instantly fell in love. That coffee was seriously insane in the goodness department. (It didn’t hurt that I spent plenty of time adding cream and sugar to it after the steeping was done.)
The ‘Drop is still a great choice for coffee in downtown Bham. They’re pretty much constantly busy, and they are literally making art out of coffee. They’ve also got a nice selection of baked goods (I wouldn’t complain if they added some protein options to the breakfast menu, though). It’s a great place to meet a friend or sit and get some work done (free WiFi, yay). Just bring plenty of quarters for the parking meters — as with most downtown spots, parking can be a hassle if you’re not on foot.

Great coffee shop! Wonderful latte art! I came in and ordered a single shot egg nog latte. Somehow they accidentally made it a triple but they fixed it right away and were very professional.

Be still my heart. I love this place so much. The coffee is great and the people in there are quality Bellingham weirdos. Guy watching Archer on his laptop? Check. Transgender tarot reader? Check. Just a fun place.

Totally delicious espresso drinks — a whole list of awesome «Black Drop Originals.» But the drip coffee was pretty terrible — I don’t really know what they did to mess it up, but it had no flavor and was pretty weak. Board said their «Bali» was the drip of the day, maybe it’s them and maybe it’s the roasters.

I’ve been in a few times and I just not really enjoy the atmosphere. I think it is more of a grab and go place, and I want to be able to sit and chill. Also, the prices seemed high…

Great flavor on my Latte, beautifully crafted. My only complaint that it wasn’t hot enough. Nice local feel, I will definitely come back, beats Starbucks any day.

One of the usual spots for decent coffee downtown. One thing is that they do free dopios on Fridays, however they apparently have an assinine policy of not allowing you to pour your free dopio into your chai, which is against the rules apparently.

Oh so very good! Local roasted beans that are heavenly, great service and always an interesting crowd. One of my favorite places to grab a cup and take a stroll over to one of the two excellent bookstores right around the corner. Haven’t had a bad cup here yet… and I’ve had many cups!

Coffee is ok. Customer service/​attitude is pretty horrible. I had an experience with a gal there that will make sure I never go back. I would have been a regular, maybe even a multiple-​times-​a-​day regular. If you can’t be nice, why are you in the coffee industry?

Super good! I was visiting family on our way to Seattle. It was the perfect thing to grab. My cousin got the lavender mocha (I think) I tried it and it was AMAZING! I got a regular mocha and still REALLY GREAT!

I come here almost every day before work. The staff is really friendly and the coffee is great. Usually I stick with an Americano or drip (which are awesome – get the Mexico if you go for drip) but every once in a while I splurge and get one of their special drinks. The Black Widow, which is made with molasses and chocolate, is delicious. The French Toast latte is in a league of its own too.

I loved the black drop before I ever was a customer because they have a fantastic community that gathers there for coffee, conversation and the occasional chess match at the seating area outside. The baristas are very interesting and friendly and as for the coffee… it’s great. I’m not a coffee snob so when I say «it’s great» what I mean is: «it has plenty of caffeine».
On a hot summer day, if you have a sweet tooth, I highly recommend getting a toddy iced mocha.
