Delicious food and a menu with a twist! Mount bakery café is definitely one of my new favorite breakfast places in Bellingham. The eggs Benedict served on a Belgium waffle with roasted potatoes was amazing! Street parking was a bit hard to find but well worth it, and the food didn’t take too long either.

I would give 0 stars if I could. I ordered the BLAT with a side salad. The side salad consumed over half of my plate and was very difficult to eat due to the size of each ingredient. I had to slice each leaf with my knife and fork in order to get it in my mouth without salad dressing getting all over my face. Every time I took a bite of my sandwich, half the ingredients fell out. It honestly was just a miserable experience. My plate and silverware all had crusted food on them as well. On top of all of that, there was a long dog hair in my salad. I do not own a dog, so I know it wasn’t from me. I told the waitress and she grabbed the dog hair off of my fork(also touched my fork with her hands) and just said«oh okay». I then said I no longer wanted the salad. She took my plate away, and did not offer a replacement meal. I asked for the check assuming my meal would be taken off because of what had happened. Well, my bad for assuming because that definitely didn’t happen. I had asked for our check to be together two different times and she still brought it back separate. I was never spoken to by a manager about the hair in my food, and there was never an apology. Also when i went up to pay, the waitress(dark tan skin with blonde curly hair) was laughing and making jokes about me with her other servers. I felt extremely disrespected by these childish adults.

Epic! Eggs Benny hands down best I’ve ever had! Belgian Waffle, edame cheese and ham make it so good!

Great service, food and atmosphere… it wasn’t raining when we were there but as someone else said it is a good patio for rain as the cover over head is large. I’m not sure what is the in the yellow sauce they put on the Benny’s but it is to die for!

Eh, it’s alright. The coffee I got from there wasn’t fresh, yet tasted bad. It seemed like they just used cheapest coffee out there just to get over it. I ordered a breakfast sandwich and it came it two portions, which seemed pretty big. The flavor wasn’t as juicy as I wanted(or as it’s typically is at other places). Flavor seemed plain, without any spices or salt. The place seemed out of business or it just wasn’t the busiest time. Didn’t really like it to be honest.

Mount Bakery has been a family favorite for at least 10 years. They definitely deserve a positive review and glowing endorsement based on so many excellent meals here. Our latest trip last weekend was to introduce our niece to one of the best breakfasts in Bellingham. Our daughter and niece both ordered the classic Benny and were DELIGHTED with the huge serving size and they agreed it was an amazing breakfast. We enjoyed sandwiches served on the heavenly croissants… which by the way if you want incredible plain, chocolate or almond croissants you must try. Always receive fantastic friendly service and delicious food. Can’t say enough good things about this local icon.

This lovely café is sure to be packed on a Sunday afternoon! But the wait(usually 20−30min on the busiest times), is definitely worth wild! I usually get a frittata or quiche, but today I ventured to try the extravagant looking Belgium waffle. It is beautiful, a filling waffle topped with various fruit– I had bananas, grapes, strawberries, pineapple, and apples. Then a bunch of whip cream on top and lastly chocolate drizzled across the entire dish and an powder sugar sprinkled along the sides of the plate. I was pleased with the speed of service and the meal itself. I very much enjoy having brunch here:)

The Benedict is literally the greatest thing that’s ever happened to me. People are nice, service is good, the food is phenomenal. I can’t visit Bellingham without going.

We waited like 15 minutes. They have a waiting room, just next door. Which is so cool! I got eggs benedict and hubby got sweet waffle. They upgrade eggs to organic ones for just one dollar. So I got organic eggs. The portion is soooo big! Waffle itself and potatoes were ok. I really liked the eggs and the sauce though. Parking is meter or public parking only. There is a public parking in front of the restaurant.

Wow what a great find! My boyfriend and I were visiting Bellingham from Seattle, and he wanted to find the best eggs benedict in town. This was for sure the place! His eggs came out looking like a piece of art. I had the eggs, bacon, and potato plate and one of the best iced vanilla lattes I’ve ever had. Was such a quaint little café tucked away. So glad we found it. Service was excellent! This will for sure be our go to place in Bellingham when we visit!

This use to be our go-to breakfast /lunch spot. Love the atmosphere, interesting menu and good food. Tweaking an order was always easy which spoke well to the customer service. That’s changed… apparently they’re clamping down on «off menu» orders, so the favorite sandwich on a crêpe instead of bread is no longer«allowed». Very disappointed with our last visit. We decided to pass on finding an alternative item, finish our lattés and go eat elsewhere. We didn’t escalate the issue, but to the staff’s credit they raised it with the manager who came to our table and offered to allow the modification this one time — but know in the future it was no longer available. We thanked her, but our experience was already soured so we declined and said we understood. We’ll continue to frequent other businesses that go the extra yard with customer service, but this may have been our last visit to this one. We did leave a 25% tip on the lattés since this wasn’t on the wait staff. Maybe a crêpe substitute should be a menu option for an extra fee… we’d have been happy to pay. Oh well, it was fun while it lasted. Now we’ll have to take our guests and friends to new discoveries.

Hungry for breakfast and seeing all the great reviews, we decided to give it a try. The staff seemed frazzled and unorganized. The restaurant is small but they have outdoor seating. We had a big group and we told them that we were willing to split up into 2 or 3 tables. Our estimated 20 minute wait turned out to be 45 minutes, we were starving! Surprisingly our server was very pleasant, she brought our drinks and took our orders right away. The food took a while, everything looked great when it finally got to us but it just tasted ok. The best thing we had was the Belgian Chocolate Crêpe. In the end, we spent over 2 hours here from start to finish. I’d have to say that it wasn’t worth the wait.

Yum is all I can say. Everyone in the group was in unison that this place was on point. The wait time wasn’t at all bad even though we went around brunch time on Sunday. The staff was super friendly and sweet. The food was superb. I ordered the turkey and avocado crêpe. I heard the salmon egg benedict was the best item to get, but I am not into benedicts so I went for my choice of the turkey crêpe. The waffle I sampled from my friend was a tad dry and hard so I would suggest staying away from it. Pets are allowed at the premise, but you have to be seated outside. Street parking is totally free on Sundays btw!

We stopped in here on a warm Friday evening during the monthly Bellingham Art Walk and grabbed a delicious and huge chocolate chip cookie. We sat outside and munched its yumminess while people-watching…a great activity here at the Mount Bakery! It was getting late, though, so their selection of desserts was dwindling. We settled on a second cookie, another glass of water, and decided to come back earlier in the day next time. I heard they have amazing lemon cake!

Because of its great reviews, especially of the eggs Benedict, we decided to brunch here. It was an excellent choice. All four of us got Benedict and we all thought the hollandaise sauce was ridiculously good. Seriously, though. We were glad that our plates were smothered in it(see photos for proof). I split the ham eggs Benedict and salmon version and preferred the ham. What’s interesting is that the Benedicts are served on waffles instead of English muffins. The waffles were good on their own as well as with the sauce and eggs and meat. Eggs were a perfect poach. The potatoes that accompanied the Benedict tasted a bit too earthy for my liking but, of course, tastes excellent when doused in hollandaise sauce and tapatio. I also ordered an Americano, made with local coffee, and it was a nice caffeine boost. We got seated right away and service was prompt. There was a giant painting of a black lab overlooking our table, which I thought was cool.

SO happy with my choice to dine here! I got the ½ sandwich and soup. For the sandwich I ordered the Turkey Gouda and man was it delicious! It was definitely the cranberry relish that set this sandwich apart from other turkey sandwiches. The fresh whole wheat bread was also a standout with its crispy nice crust. As for the soup, I sampled their soup special it was a vegetable posole soup with hominy. This soup was also quite good, it had nice bite to it. In addition to my lunch, I got a nonfat chai latte with whipped cream. This was ok… I would have liked a bit more chai tea flavor, it tasted a little weak. The whipped cream was fresh, which was quite enjoyable. My friend ordered their quiche special and a cup of the same vegetable soup. She let me sample a sliver and it was delicious. I think what made it so good was the perfectly flaky and buttery crust. I could have just eaten just the crust… but I resisted the urge. It can get quite busy here especially on the weekends. Even week days around peak times there is a wait, so be prepared to wait for delicious food! Service is lacking in attentiveness(it’s ok… but not great) I overlooked this because the food was so darn good. Enjoy!

Quaint café in Bellingham. Thank you, Unilocal once again for another good find! Stopped by for brunch on our way to Seattle. Parking was easy(street) and paid $ 1.75 for 2 hours. There was 6 of us, about a 15 – 20 min wait. The interior felt like it was part library, part thrift shop, part bakery. But it was cozy and the smell of the food and coffee was like a warm hug on a cold day. Served water in glass bottles, because obvy. Split the wild salmon cream cheese frittata with my friend, with a side of potatoes and bacon. The frittata was made with 4 eggs, generous amount of avocado and lots and lots of wild salmon cream cheese. Had the right amount of dill to add the perfect kick. It was portioned well — every bite had egg, cream cheese and avo. Potatoes and bacon were cooked well. Not too dry, not burnt. Top it off with some ketchup and hot sauce, good to go! Notes: they don’t take CAD anymore. But cash(USD) and card is accepted. Disappointed couldn’t try the baked goods. Was too full!

Aye carumba! Be ready to shell out all of the cash in your wallet. This little hole in the wall is expensive. The Portabello Mushroom Eggs Benedict set me back $ 15, and that was with no drink. Yes, the ingredients are farm fresh, organic when possible and the large plate was completely covered and stacked high with food enough to feed a couple of people, but it was still quite pricy for breakfast items. It’s no surprise they take all credit cards including American Express. Had the bennies actually been the best in town taste-wise, I might not actually be offput by the price; however, they were not. There was an unusual yeasty taste to my meal that I couldn’t place. I wondered if the belgian waffle was beer battered until my waitress pointed out that the wine-like enhancement was the balsalmic vinegar from the portabello mushroom. Yep, that is it. It made for an unusual flavor combination, one my tastebuds just couldn’t see returning for another tour of duty. Normally I visit a place twice before writing a review, but the first tour was a hardship for both my tastebuds and my wallet. I really don’t want to waste my time paying to park a mile away for this experience again.

Traveled up to Bellingham during a short weekend getaway and stumbled upon this place. It’s a small cozy café that provides both indoor and outdoor seating. We came for Saturday brunch and only had to wait about 5 – 10 minutes. That gave us plenty of time to review the menu and make some important brunch decisions! I got the Smoked Salmon Benney. This benney is actually made on a waffle! Pretty neat! The hollandaise sauce was prefect, not too salty. The dish comes with a side of country potatoes which were delicious, soft, and well seasoned. At first I thought they didn’t give me very much and then I found out that most of my potatoes were under my benney. Surprise surprise! I also ordered the fresh squeezed lemonade. Not my favorite. The lemonade was too sour and need a bit more sweetener. This place also serves, waffles, crepes(savory and sweet), a variety of pastries and desserts, coffee/espresso, frittatas, etc. Lots of variety and they all sound delicious! It was extremely difficult to not order one of everything! If you’re in the area definitely stop by and enjoy a delicious brunch meal! I mean it is the best meal of the day!
