Ordered through their online website. Ordering was a breeze and for a hard to find board game their prices were great. The product arrived damaged. However, a quick e-mail to their customer support address resulted in prompt and courteous service. I was glad to see that they were so willing to work with me about the damaged order and to see their pride in products they sell. If I could offer them one area to improve upon, it would be to ensure that their business software sends out shipping notices. I never received one despite their quick shipping(the next day). Hat off to Aaron for great customer service. Bottom line: Shopping from them online was a positive experience with only minor hiccups and their self-deprecation of those hiccups made up for them.

My boys got into Magic, and I finally decided to learn the game too. As a result we are regular visitors of this local MTG store. Chris, Aaron, Tom, and the guys have all been MORE than helpful and patient — answering our questions, searching for cards, quoting us prices, and giving us tips. Even going so far as to share their personal decks or ideas for our own builds. The community that plays here is really supportive and encouraging to new players. Dark Tower hosts regular events, with opportunities to play in your comfort zone or challenge you beyond it. It’s a great community and shop, for an incredible game.

Have gone in twice now and gotten indifferent service both times. I’ve been trying to introduce my kids to D&D(one of the joys of my youth) but the way the employees have responded to me, it’s as if they’ve never heard of the game or are put off by someone my age asking about it.(Hey guys, I was gaming before you were born. Spare me the attitude, okay?) Today, I was«greeted» by a 20-something kid behind the counter who looked at me like I didn’t belong in the store and gave off a vibe like he clearly had better things to do than bother with me. Not sure what the attitude is all about but I’ve had my fill of it. I’ll buy my gaming supplies online in the future. Amazon doesn’t give me the tired stare or the indifference.

I got into Magic at this game shop but didn’t realize how bad of a store it is until I started going to other game shops to play. The actual merchandise selection is great and the community that comes to play here are for the most part, great guys. But a store is only as good as its employees, and the staff here is awful. They will make every transaction feel like a chore, and answer every question as if it is the most laborious experience in the world. Everything is kept behind counter and they have no appreciation for or excitement towards new players. I don’t think that in a whole year of coming here I ever had a single positive customer service experience. My recommendation: if you need a card fix or just want to drop in and pick up a game, Dark Tower is just as fine as any other place. But as a long-term game shop to come back to over and over to play, I encourage you to find another place. The staff here will treat you and anyone you bring with you as an inconvenience.
