Amazing beer. Great service. Great prices. Honestly couldn’t get any better than this. Amazed that it’s not more packed every hour of the day.

Great beer great location on James st. I really think it sucks that their Kentucky street location is for 21 and over only. If you try to go to the Kentucky st location with kids the servers look at you like: what the hell are you bringing your kids here and rudely tell you to leave. I like the original(James st) location way better than K2 on Kentucky st.

I like this place. We generally go on Sunday nights and they usually have a local band. The beer is good and I like to eat from the food trucks. Service can be a little slow, but not as onerous as other Bellingham eateries and pubs.

Seasonal, Local, Versatile and Happening. Kulshan hosts not only great beer, but excellent musical acts, fabulous bartenders and a mouth watering array of food trucks at is James Street location. Loved the laid back atmosphere and pub tables+community farm house style seating options. Russian Imperial Stout will knock you dead in a great way. Don’t like beer but like music? Swing by anyway and pick up a delicious gyro or chicken quesadilla from one of the freaking awesome food trucks. Interesting seasonal offerings(their Christmas beer actually did taste like pine) and a fun crowd to be around. For a «beer place», as I like to call them, this joint has 5 full stars. Only wishful thinking wants them to have wine on the menu– they may– I just didn’t see any. Besides, you aren’t going here for wine! Fast service, fun folks serving you. Never feel rushed, but always have prompt service.

My wife and I stopped here real quick after after hiking for a quick swiggle. Free street parking can be found. Discover is an accepted form of payment. This brewery is family friendly, but also has a 21+ area. Quite a large outside seating area is offered as well. Food is not served here but there was a strEAT truck outside where food could be ordered and enjoyed on site along with some tasty brews. We did not eat here. I liked that there were four different glass sizes to choose from when ordering beer. Since my wife and I were in a rush, we opted for the 10oz pours. My wife ordered a 10oz Red Cap Ale for $ 3 and I ordered a 10oz Good Ol’ Boy for $ 3. We both enjoyed our choices and look forward to returning when we have more time to sample brews.

The James Street patio is pleasant for people watching and conversation. Great fresh locale ales. We love Kulshan! Very limited on-street parking, especially on busy weekends. I like the Good Ol’ Boy pale ale, my wife likes the Dude Man wheat. But Kulshan has plenty of darker hoppier choices for those who prefer a little more bite to their ale. I wish they would chill their taps just a bit more. I know it’s not traditional, but I like my beverage ice-cold. The rotating selection of food trucks seem to always have fresh and tasty menu items if you’re hungry. If you’re going to sit on the patio, no need to stand in line inside for your beer. There’s nearly always someone waiting tables. Not super fast service, but always cheery and helpful.

Hung out on the patio on a beautiful sunny day and had their dry hopped IPA. Got dinner from the food truck parked just on the side of the patio, food was ok, but the beer was great. The brewery had a cool fun vibe, live music started later in the evening, lots of people brought their dogs, one gal even brought her itty bitty puppy. Lots of picnic tables, European style seating, people were friendly and accommodating. Would definitely come back.

Came by here last night for the first time. Had a really good IPA. The atmosphere was full of friendly people who just wanted to relax & have a good time. I like that they have a food truck outside to fill your belly. The food was really good too(Streat Food, tacos… yum yum yum). All in all it was a good evening. Met some people & had great conversation. I will return. Also, they have good gluten free options.

Some of the best beer in Bellingham. Excellent customer service, great vibe, and good brews. Everyday they have a different food truck on their patio. Some of these have great menus, others not so much. What really matters is that Kulshan Brewing understands their community well and is able to provide a space and products that keep Bellinghamsters coming back. Their Bastard Kat IPA is hop-heavy and delicious, certainly a favorite of mine. The Red Cap Red Ale is very bright and smooth. The Transporter is a good porter to warm you up after one of our dreary Bellingham days. I honestly haven’t found a Kulshan beer that I don’t like. You can’t go wrong with these guys.

We’ve only been here once, but their beers are very nice and the place is friendly. Food is from two food trucks outside, but as they rotate, the details are probably not significant. What is significant though is that it was a very tasty burger and chicken burger, which hopefully means that they have great food partners. We tried several different beers, none of them a dud. What’s interesting is that their beers are averaging lower in alcohol than what you find from most brewers. It’s great that they are taking on the challenge of delivering great flavor without amping up the alcohol. You can buy many of their brews on pre-filled growlers, and currently the session beer and the IPA are also available on cans. This place is worth a visit.

Bellingham has a lot of great pubs and breweries but Kulshan isn’t one of them! I really enjoyed the«red cap» beer at the Brewfest in Marymoor Park this past weekend and headed up to B-ham to have another. Could not have experienced a worse server at this establishment. Check out the Bellingham tap trail list… Boundary Bay, Archer’s, Aslan, Wander, Scheinhaus, Green Frog, Chuckanut or the Copper Hog all a much better choice than Kulshan’s.

Excellent beers, laid-back vibe, super friendly service. Bastard Kat IPA, Bull of the Woods Double IPA, and Kitten Mittens Winter Ale have all been fantastic(plus, two of them are feline themed: bonus score) Even when it gets pretty busy, the servers never seem to get frazzled and will take your order and bring it to you/check in at your table so you don’t have to wait in line for your second, third, or fourth beer. That’s a major plus in my book. Always friendly and prompt. No food, but most nights they host a different food truck and have an up-to-date list on their website. Music some nights too. Awesome patio. Just go.

low key vibe, beers I tried were a bit hoppy and the staff were a bit slammed, which meant .not the best customer service but, I would give it another try. Food truck outside smelled great!

Bellingham has many breweries that have popped up in the past year. It’s important to try and compare. Kulshan imprinted on me with its Russian Imperial Stout, TransPorter, and Red Cap. I can’t say anything about the IPAs and Pilsners, but they look popular. The food trucks and surrounding restaurants keep things in Sunnyland local.

Fantastic beers, great people, always a good time. All their beers are unique, and flavorful. They have some of the most original seasonal ales as well. If you happen to come in around Christmas time, make sure to try Kitten Mittens. It’s by far, my favorite beer in the world! Very creamy, malty, and somehow, leaves you feeling light at the same time. Their beer is simply majestic. They don’t serve food in house, but they always have a fantastic food truck. You can also bring your own food, as well as get food delivered from other near by shops. There is plenty of outdoor seating, and they jist added heat lamps to make your experience more enjoyable. Simply a Bellingham staple!

Very cool lil brewery in Bellingham. I wish I hadn’t been so hungover from«April Brews Day» the day before. The atmosphere is cool. Definitely a popular brewery in B-Ham! We had to hit up a few breweries in town before leaving, and collect our growlers and glasses! Everyone in my party had a beer. I took a sip of the porter, but that’s all I could handle. They had a lot of choices on tap and I wish we would’ve went Saturday afternoon before the beer fest. Next trip up to Bellingham, this will be my first stop, for sure!

Kulshan was the second stop on the local craft brewery tour(the evening before I visited Chuckanut). I was hoping for even better beers based on the Unilocal reviews and the selection of beers listed on their web site. It was a Tuesday evening — and it was damn hard to find a place to park. Several adjacent businesses had signs posted — reminding Kulshun customers to not park in their spots. I finally found a spot to park on James street several businesses down from the brewery. They don’t serve food here, so I made sure I ate before I arrived. They did have a food truck parked out front serving their wares to hungry customers. I managed to secure a spot at the bar — and inquired about a beer/ale tasting. I opted to build my own tasting flight as I wanted to try all of their IPAs(three total). So I ended up with: Good Olé Boy Pale Ale, Bastard Kat IPA, Double Brother Double IPA, Smoked Stout, Midnight KDA, and Last Resort IPA(the Smoked Stout and Last Resort IPA were limited time specials and not listed on the Kulshan Brewery web site). I started with the Good Olé Boy Pale Ale, then worked my way through the IPAs plus the Midnight KDA — which is essentially a Black IPA. All of the IPAs were tasty, and a nice bitter, hoppy aspect to all of them. None were overwhelmingly hoppy IMHO. I finished things off with the Smoked Stout, which was very bold. I’d much rather drink Stouts like this as opposed to Guinness! Overall, all six Ales/beers were very good — although I would probably not order the Midnight KDA — just was not my thing. I’d happily order a pint of any of the other five! I struck up conversations with several other folks who came in and sat next to me at the bar. All were locals and regulars and fans of the place. One elderly lady pulled up a barstool next to me and had a pint of their Trans-Porter in hand — she made me try it. It was my least favorite of the beers I tasted but I appreciated her offering a taste to me and enjoyed chatting with her. Turns out she makes her own beers at home as well. The place was absolutely packed on a Tuesday night! And it was pretty loud in there! The place is very popular and I can see why! Service was friendly and very good! I would come back here again!
