Great atmosphere and great service. Sadly, the food was extremely sub par. The cubano was okay, same with the philly. The meat on both sandwiches were too tough to eat. The fries were good though!

I’m really sad to have to write that this place used to be one of our favorite restaurants but since the renovation this past fall, it has changed so much too the point that we’re likely not going to be coming back. The restaurant used to be only Italian, and they had these raviolis that were the best I’ve ever had in the entire world. All of their pastas were amazing too, everything was reasonably priced, and the service was amazing. Tonight, we went back expecting the same amazing food and service but were disappointed to find that all of our favorite meals had been taken off of the menu. The food is still decent, and the main entrees are still a fair price, but the appetizers are small and very unreasonable. They don’t even have our favorite bread with oil that they used to serve for *free* before the meals. I understand that the the restaurant is by the theater, so it’s pretty busy, but we always seemed to have a nice relationship with our waiters. Our waitress was by no means bad, just kind of rushed, and often forgot to get us things we asked for, including getting our bill wrong. I’m writing this review in hopes that corporate will see that this place used to be our favorite and we don’t approve of the changes, and hope some of the old menu items and prices might come back. We’d definitely keep coming if done of those changes were made.

I recall their incredible bread with vinegar dip when they first opened and a grand happy hour with polished service. Went back with a gift card and found far less to eat, no delicious bread and less friendly options for a dairy free vegetarian than I had remembered. My date liked his burger, and I’ll admit, their cauliflower was good for gluten/dairy free-ers, but I wasn’t wowed like before. Wines by the glass are spendy for what they’re trying to turn it into(small eats, good drinks) but beers are less pricy. It was absolutely freezing upstairs, but worth the people watching view by the theater. One good option for a bite before a movie.(Steps from the theater doors.)

This place was really good. Excellent place for mixology! I mean, don’t come looking for a deal(only downside to here, really), but they do have some interesting times where you can get some happy hour style prices. They actually had a Friday night special menu when we went last. Food was definitely above average for Bellingham. Lighting was comfortable and it’s in a cool area. I’d say next time you plan a late movie, give this a shot beforehand. Have a SUPER good cocktail or three, enjoy a dinner, and go see your movie. I doubt you’ll be disappointed.

I loved the atmosphere of this place. The food was pretty good, seemed to be made with good ingredients but smaller portions

When my girlfriend and I first visited Lunas in the spring of 2015, we fell in love with it. It featured amazing Italian food and some great drinks, all in a beautifully design and classy restaurant with an atmosphere to match it’s name. We recently revisited the restaurant to find it completely changed. While service remained good, every other aspect of the restaurant seemed to have taken a downgrade. What was once a unique and sophisticated feeling restaurant has turned into something that feels a lot like a family friendly sports bar, a step below Applebee’s. The menu we had came to know and love was replaced by one that resembled a run of the mill pub and a lot of the great vegetarian options had been replaced. Rather than having mushroom ravioli with their delicious truffle butter, we settled for roasted tomato linguine, which pretty much just seemed like boiled store bought noodles with some oil and tomatoes tossed in, but for a much higher price. I’m not sure if there has been a change in management or in chefs, but the quality of the food has definitely seen a reduction. This is not the same restaurant we fell in love with and unless it’s somewhat restored to its former glory, we likely won’t be returning.

Luna’s is a great place to stop on your way to/from a movie at the Barkley Cinemas. They recently revised their menu to be more of a «small plates» offering, which I personally appreciate. The menu is organized by price, so if you don’t have a lot to spend you can still order something yummy depending on your budget. I got the fried cauliflower(which also happens to be gluten free) and it was crispy and delicious. Added a pint of good craft beer and I got out of there for $ 10 plus tip — not a bad deal at all! They also have larger entrees if you want an entire dinner. The atmosphere is very intimate yet casual — would be great for a date night. The service was very friendly and inviting. I also noticed they started having family specials on Sundays, which is a GREAT idea considering a movie with the kids is a great family outing(especially during our not-so-sunny winter months).

Attentive staff, quick service, lackluster, boring food. The Cubano sandwich was a complete miss, the potato chips soggy and cardboardy. Better pizza is served to your door

I’m so disappointed, what happened to this place??? The food and menu have changed from good Italian to crappy pud food. Server was very sweet and helpful. I came from Anacortes, what a waste of gas!

Just stopped to grab lunch to go from Luna’s Bistro in Bellingham WA and to my surprise I found that my Caesar salad lacked its dressing but included a DEADFLY. Yeah that’s right a dead fly. No thank you.

The server was extremely nice, but the food was among the worst I’ve ever had. The first time I ate there, it was very mediocre. Thinking it was a fluke, I thought I would give it another shot a few months later. It was even worse than before. I ordered spaghetti and meatballs. The meatballs were clearly frozen and the sauce tasted like it came straight out of a can. Considering the variety of decent Italian restaurants in this town, there is no reason I would ever choose to eat here again.

Went for lunch today at Luna’s Bistro. With 1 person working as hostess, bartender and server for 6 – 7 tables it was a bit much. She was very pleasant, however, to be expected service was a bit slow. Really doesn’t ake sense that you can only order from the lunch menu Mon-Fri when you want a smaller portion at lunch on a Saturday. Food quality was good as was the presentation. The carpet needs to be ripped out or cleaned badly as it makes the place look run down. Overall, not a bad lunch for 4.

What an upset… service was okay… when the food came out… presentation was on point, but the feeling after was the worse… I had upset stomach and my friend who ordered there steak was praying on the toilet and throwing up.

Overall a good experience here — the service was good and most of the food was as well though it was a little different than we expected. For example — I ordered the chicken Marsala which was ok, however it was chicken that was on the bone. I have eaten marsala many places before and have never seen it prepared this way… that was odd. Another person in our party ordered a steak medium rare and it arrived… very rare. The server explained«that’s just how they make it» Umm… ok. The steak is one of the priciest things on the menu so obviously the person eating it wanted to be satisfied(as they should be). We sent it back and it was cooked more but… took a while to fix the issue so we were a little concerned. Once the steak returned it was cooked properly. The third person with us really liked their food so no issues there. Anyway… would consider returning but probably wouldn’t order either of those 2 things again.

I’ve been to this restaurant a number of times and have been very impressed by the food, service, and décor… and let me not forget to mention the wine! Due to some good timing and bit of luck I also got a tour of the kitchen from the head chef, and it’s quite an impressive, modern, and efficient machine. They actually have a very small freezer and most of the dishes are prepared on the spot. I highly recommend their salads, ravioli, and salmon. Be sure to take wine recommendations from the staff as their wine list is extensive though fantastic. Bön appetit!

I really like this place because it’s so close to work and the décor inside looks amazing. This was a second time visiting just to make sure. The staff was nice and full of energy and super attentive. I ordered the smoked chicken ravioli — it was still cool in the middle which I didn’t like. I really enjoy the other restaurants owned by this company but the menu needs some additions. I am looking forward to seeing this place improve in the near future.

Came here for dinner with some friends and was wholey underwhelmed. Its a cute little restaurant with good atmosphere and EXCELLENT waitresses. They were very nice and helpful. However, the food left you wanting more. I ordered fettuccine Alfredo with chicken and not only was it expensive it was TERRIBLE. It came out luke warm which is not acceptable in my opinion. Food should come out hot and fresh. I decided to overlook the fact that it wasn’t hot and eat it anyways. I couldn’t even eat ¼ of it because the taste was so terrible. You can get more flavor from a jar of Alfredo from the supermarket. I do not recommend this place.

My last experience at Lunas Bistro was Amazing. The service was incredible, our servers name was Amy and she was so friendly and very helpful. The drinks there are delicious and very different from anywhere else in town and the food and desserts were great. I would really recommend the crème brûlée. Great experience, good food and friendly staff. Will definitely be visiting again soon.

The atmosphere and servers were great, but kitchen a little slow to deliver at lunchtime. I loved my soup and Caesar salad! Would definitely come back. They are brand new so I feel bad for all the one star reviews. Give it a shot and decide for yourself. I would recommend!
