Recently moved to the Bellmore area and was looking for a nice local Burger place. Saw good reviews on Unilocal so we decided to give it a shot. We went on a Saturday afternoon and there was few customers there. By first appearance, we were a little grossed out. It may have just been the day that we went, but the restaurant was absolutely filthy. Every table was sticky, all of the ketchup bottles were covered in some were gunk and looked like they haven’t been cleaned or changed in months, and the bathroom was pretty dirty as well(also when you flush the toilet, the room starts to shake and make weird noises? I thought I was going to be whisked away on a time machine or something haha) So needless to say, our first impressions of JimmyJacks were not all that great. We decided to stick around though and try the burgers. The actual burgers themselves helped make up for the less than appealing atmosphere. The burgers were cooked on par as ordered and carried a lot of flavor. The fries were also pretty solid as well. If we were to go back to JimmyJacks though, it would definitely be for take out only next time.

Jimmyjacks is a small burger place packed with big flavor. Right in Bellmore village, this small establishment was a highly recommended by Unilocal so I had to try it. This shack has simple ingredients and a huge variety of flavor combinations. My kind of place. Firstly, I like how you can have your beef cooked to order(which is different for a change). I decided on a burger cooked medium with lettuce, tomato, onion and pickles. I could have put on chili, cheese, jalapenos, etc… but hey sometimes less is more. The burger was cooked just right and the bun was sturdy, but fluffy. I ordered a side of Chipolte Mayo which had a nice kick to it. Tangy but spicy. On the side I tried the Corn Nuggets which were pretty good. I usually try to stay away from deep fried foods, but I heard these were delish. They were very crispy, however I felt like they needed some sort of sauce. Good thing is that they have about 15 of ‘em. The prices are VERY reasonable. Build your own burger is $ 4.50 with like 10 cents for additional toppings. Next time I wanna try their sweet potato fries, can’t go wrong with those! Overall, nice burger place. Will be back to try other items on the menu!

Inconsistent burger joint that is wildly popular with teens. I’ve been here a number of times and tried the regular, sweet and curly fries. The curly ones were the best, but all are commercial tasting. On my last visit I came very close to returning my chili cheeseburger as the«chili» was beyond tolerable bleak! yuck… way too… SALTY! Ha! you thought I was gonna say spicy! I wish it had even a bit of heat or even some sauce or a bean or two. It was super-salty, greasy ground meat poured on my cheeseburger. You know that Jim Carey vomit face thing he does? I decided to scrape off as much as I could. Nothing would help. Might have been the worst burger I’ve had in years. My wife’s turkey slider was lousy as well from what she told me. Past times the food was slightly better so add a star if your a burgerphile.

The menu is vast. The food is amazing, the delivery is fast and everything is fairly priced. I also love the vast amount of toppings that you can add.

Definitely one of my new favorite burger joints on LI. Found this little hidden gem on Unilocal of course, and couldn’t be happier. We both had a blackened burger — fantastic! Cooked perfectly(medium rare). –Crunchy tasty curly fries –Chili Cheese fries were lacking, definitely wouldn’t recommend them. –Corn Nuggets(err Fritters), were awesome! Very tasty and unhealthy! ;) –Unlimited re-fills. Yep, you can’t go wrong. Most people seem to come take-out, but it has a decent interior, I had nothing against dining in. No waiter service, just a typical fast food chain like place. If you’re in the area and have a hankering for a nice and tasty greasy burger, check them out.

We got delivery. Burger was good but Shrimp Po Boy was a joke! I’m sorry to say because I really wanted to like this place. The 4 tiny shrimp were grilled not fried and sliced length-wise to make it look like 8 shrimp– not fooled. They were on a giant thick hero of bread, which made it look even worse! Also they were very definitely translucent, which means they were still very raw. What a bummer. Also they forgot our drink and fries. Driver was very nice and apologetic though. Overall, will not order from them again. Even though it was cheap, my husband was so grossed out by his raw shellfish sandwich that it went right in the garbage and he vowed to never order from them again.

Jimmyjacks’ menu is old-fashioned burger joint type food plus a lot of choices. Its a clean, nice looking restaurant that also does take out and delivery. We ordered to go and our order(appetizers and meals for two adults and two kids) was ready in less than ten minutes. The trouble with ordering takeout is sometimes by the time you get home the burger is all soggy and hard to eat. Not here! The burger bun isn’t your standard variety and held the build-your-own burger together and did not get soggy. The crab cake BLT wrap tasted exactly how it sounds. It wasn’t heavy or overpowering. We also ordered wings, and the medium and honey BBQ sauces very very good. We also had sweet potato fries that came with a nice maple mayo. We were very happy with our selections and will be back soon!

My husband and I enjoyed the first incarnation of this place, but Version 2.0 is quite a bit better! There’s quite a variety of menu items, which was lacking when the place first opened. Husband is a man who knows what he likes, and what he likes is a nude, well-done burger. This place offers high quality burgers cooked as ordered and placed on tasty buns. Egg buns, maybe? I’ve had their beef burgers, chicken burgers and hot dogs, all of which are of stellar quality. Jimmy’s also offers freshly fried potato chips, which is unusual. They come slightly seasoned, accompanied by a side of spicy dipping sauce. If you want a high-quality, relatively inexpensive burger and/or dog, head here. Now.

Simply, a delicious neighborhood burger joint. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger with pepper jack cheese and sauteed mushrooms cooked to medium-rare. The burger was cooked just the way I asked. I was surprised at how good the bun was too; it was soft and sweet(it reminded me of hallah), but sturdy enough to keep the whole burger together. I am surprised Jimmyjacks does not promote the bun more. We also ordered the Big Bang Burger to share. The Big Bang Burger has a patty at least double the size of a regular burger with cheese, two sauces, jalepenos, french fries, and onion rings, if not more. Despite being an odd conglomeration, it was pretty good. If neither of these sound too appetizing to you, then don’t worry; Jimmyjacks has dozens of toppings and sauces to make your own creation. Jimmyjacks also serves up hot dogs, wraps, wings, and other classic finger foods.

Really awesome! Came for lunch on Sunday and it was delicious. Really great burger choices, plus make your own burgers and stuff. Sweet potato fries and maple mayo. Outta this world! Strawberry shake was alright. Girl behind the the counter was really nice as well, excellent customer service. seemed like a college girl(Adelphi sweater), just giving credit where its due. Definitely will be back.

Came in and wasn’t too sure what to get since they have a good menu of items. Decided to go simple and get a burger and fries. The fries were good but what was shocking was the burger. The girl who took my order was kind enough to tell me that it would take a few extra minutes for my food to come out which I thought was weird but apparently its worth the wait. Quite possible on the best burgers I’ve ever had.

I was in the neighborhood looking for a bite to eat. Managed to find this spot. I ordered a custom burger. Sauteed Mushrooms & Onions, American Cheese, &BBQ Sauce & Bacon. I picked up a side of Sweet Potato Fries and a drink. The entire thing came to about $ 10 total. The burger was really good. I even like the bun it was on. The fries came with a special sauce. Kind of tasted a little like ranch. I was happily surprised everything was pretty good. I personally plan on coming back one day to try some of the other items on the menu. This is not diet food but so worth it once in a while =)

Bacon burger was very good. So nice when you get real bacon cooked perfectly on a burger. The burger itself was very good. Nice size, tender and juicy. The fries were some of the best non-hand cut fries I’ve had in a long time. The sweet potato fries were served with a maple mayo that was pretty good, but not really my thing. The staff was very cool, and want you to enjoy the food. It shows. Only regret is I wish I noticed the Sonoran hotdog while I was ordering. Good food, good prices, good place. Win-Win

Rock solid burger, wings, grilled cheese and fries! Great for eating in or taking out. Everything is made to order and fresh so you have to wait about 10 minutes but it’s well worth the wait! They are open under new management and better then ever. Menu is expanded a bit, includes a favorite of mine from my childhood = poutine(fries, cheese curd and gravy!!) but the burgers are exactly the same which means they rock!

****4 ½ Stars******* Note: This review involves 2 trips hence the length. On an Island filled with chain Restaurants and Fast food, there’s nothing more I appreciate than a local family owned business. Especially when the people making the food are passionate and care about the quality. I am so incredibly stoked to have found this place and all thanks to Unilocal.Working a total of 14 hours both Monday & Tuesday(EACH) I had very little time to eat. Needless to say I was famished by Wednesday. With all intentions to give in to the curiosity of Five Guys, I drove to Levittown, found a spot and approached the store front. I got literally 15 feet away and felt my stomach turn. I don’t know why, I just got an awful feeling so I retreated. Desperately I searched my brain and stomach for something close that would satisfy Unilocal to the rescue. Typed in «burger» near«Wantagh» and Jimmyjacks was I think 3rd in line and seemed to be one of the most well reviewed eateries I’d seen. They’re located in a small storefront in the middle of Bellmore Town. The design is simple, clean and open. They offer 3 bar tables(2 seaters) along the window and the most plush, cushy, ass-sinking booths lining the walls accompanied with regular chairs. Excitingly I went to order. Being that I’m still on a burger mission I went for a classic meal: ~ Bacon Swiss Cheese Burger with Chipotle Mayo and Tomatoes– Juicy burgerliciousness, melty swiss cheese topped with bacon happiness. The Chipotle Mayo… SIK, Just the right kick, not too overwhelming. ~ Small Fries Crunchy, perfectly golden, lightly seasoned with salt. This fry lover just found her new fatty snack favorite. ~ Regular Fountain Drink– Besides soda, they have sweetened Green Tea, nonsweetened/sweetened Ice Tea. Total Cost: $ 10. xx I think I’ve paid more for a salad before. Bonus Points for sure. It only took about 10 minutes and they bring it to you. That leads me to the service. It was awesome. The girl behind the counter was friendly and helpful. She saved my burger. In my weak hungry state I failed to say«rare» and had a delayed reaction. I explained and she stopped the«over cooking» of my burger(I like it mooing). I thanked her over and over again and the owner said«if it had cooked, we would have just thrown another one on. It’s how you like it». Speaking with her was s a true pleasure. She told me how her husband and brother in law wanted to open a burger joint. Nothing fussy, just a good place to eat. ‘We wanted a burger joint where we could make burgers the way we like them”. Now that’s how I want the person making my meal to think. That’s why they use brioche buns. That’s what they like and hey, it works. They also use a brisket/sirloin blend that’s delivered daily from a butcher in Farmingdale that’s been in business for over 40 years. It’s rare to meet business owners you can tell genuinely care. Service– A++ Since that day(3 days ago) I have craved the fries, thought about the Turkey burger everyone raves about and thought about how good those fries would be with a milkshake. So I went back tonight. i was also curious to see how a Saturday night would compare in quality to a quieter Wednesday night. They didn’t let me down. I choose from the«mini» menu items to be adventurous: ~ Mini turkey Burger with Lettuce, tomato and Chipotle Mayo.- Damn. I get it. Packed with flavor, so fresh and juicy. I’ve had a lot of turkey burgers but this is the best one Hands Down. ~Mini BBQ Pulled Chicken Sandwich– Perfect size to get. The Chicken was super tender, piled on generously and the BBQ sauce was on the sweeter side with a good blend of spicy. ~Black and White Milkshake– A vanilla Milkshake with chocolate syrup. Simple, not too thick, perfect for fry dunking. Sweet and salty, you can never go wrong. PS the mini burger and sandwhich are $ 2.50. Yes, that’s correct TWOFREAKINFIFTY! I think that’s cheaper than KFC and it’s real meat! Finally I have found somewhere suitable to give my money to and not hate myself after eating. Twice now I’ve left happily filled, not stuffed. Thank you thank you thank you Jimmyjacks for being my Long Island saving grace.

I had a friend tell me about this place. He loved it, and compared it to 5 guys. I’ll leave my opinion out about that place, whether good or bad. Let me pretext this that me and my dad for years have been going over the island, to ‘good’ burger joints and crossing them off a neverending list. Went in with an open mind clearly with my dad. We ordered similar things, Bacon Cheeseburger, with tomato and onion and ketchup. We got an order of the sweet potato fries, and the cheese fries. Burger. The burger itself, was good. The major flaw, the bun. The bun was wayyyy too overpowering for this smaller size patty. You were unable to get all the goodness of the burger. If they changed that, id easily go back. Fries. i’m not the biggest fan of sweet potato fries, but these were nice and well done, and the dipping sauce for them was good too, not enough of it though. the cheese fries were good. they were able to not get too soggy towards the bottom of the heap. Try it out, you might like it more then me, but unless i’m a block away from the place, prob wont try it again.

I LOVE a good burger joint. Who doesn’t? Plus, some gorgeous girl decided she wanted to treat me to lunch, so I couldn’t say no. I went in with no expectations, came out with a food boner. I got a bacon burger — cooked perfectly medium — with chipotle mayo, pickles, tomato, sauteed onion. The large order of fries was enough to split between four people, and the bun on the burger was so delicious that I thought I might cry. The bacon was crispy, the burger was juicy, the onions were mouth watering. Hungry yet? You could have put any standard burger joint topping on the burger — including jalapeño(I think) — but I decided I didn’t necessarily want to shit fire that night, so I just stuck with the half spicy mayo. My shit was more like a bonfire instead of a 4 alarm blaze, na’mean? But I digress. As the first reviewer, I must applaud JimmyJacks. It’s new, it looks very family friendly, it’s got an old school burger joint vibe, fountain sodas… I loved the place. I hope they grow and continue to add cool stuff to the menu, and I’ll definitely come back next time I’m on Long Island. Four stars, would be five stars if they had some more toppings for the burgers, but for what it is, it’s fantastic.

Okay you’re going to wonder why I gave this place a 4 after I start with this… First of all, the location, not the best. Bellmore town is a ghost town. Good prices though. Second of all, I was told the wait would be 10 minutes for our order which was a cheeseburger, buffalo wings(of course), and fries. The wait was about 20 – 25 minutes. I don’t mind waiting if the food is going to be good. I go all the way home and… the fries were forgotten. I had to drive all the way back. When I got there, my fries were waiting for me with a $ 10 dollar gift card. Definitely worth the mistake haha. When I got back home I got to finally enjoy the food. The burger wasn’t the biggest, but it was definitely very good. It was on a challah bread type roll. Not«kosher»(haha), but enjoyable. Next was the wings. With my recent string of disappointments, I didn’t have high hopes. Not only were the wings not overly crispy or overcooked, but they were perfectly cooked. The sauce was pretty good and they were meaty and far from tiny. My fries were a little cold, but still good. I’d definitely go back there seeing as it’s only a 5 minute ride. Check it out! Only been open for 2 months.
