We, literally, stumbled in here around 1am on Memorial Day weekend. It was packed, but we got in with no issue. As one reviewer noted, it is one sweaty dance party! Super fun, and the bar tenders are very quick and friendly. This place was a good ending to what would prove to be a very interesting night… Definitely good for a casual night out with friends. I can’t speak on the food, but the drinks were good!

My family made a reservation for a party of 12 on Saturday night 10⁄16 to celebrate my wife’s fathers 70th birthday. Our silverware & menu’s were in a pile in the middle of the table. We were not informed of half price beers& appetizers from our waitress as well. We ordered 220 piece wings, 2 calamaris&1 nacho. The wings were excellent however the calamari was either overcooked or just not fresh. The nachos came out extremely soggy. Put the guacamole & chopped tomatoes on the side for heaven sake. Once the entrees came out, several were cold &1 was missing(he had to wait 5 minutes for the Sante Fe chicken to come out. My steak was ICECOLD& unseasoned. The open faced scallops were cold as well. I would have sent them back but my wife& family believe in not upsetting the apple cart(so cold steak for me). One meal had the wrong side. Why no mashed potatoes offered??? Here is a suggestion: advise all wait staff to inform diners of any specials being offered UPON seating. When it came to doggy bags, I felt sorry for the waitress since she had to personally bag 7 – 8 meals for take home. Simply hand out the containers to diners who want to save the leftovers. Makes sense right? I emailed the owner & he simply replied for me to call him to discuss. However, he never answers or returns voice messages. This joint is for drinks & maybe appetizers. We tried to go for a casual dinner on 12⁄30& had another piss poor experience. They stripped down the menu to appetizers & pizza only calling it their“Winter Menu”. They did not advise us that half price appetizers &2 dollars drinks were discontinued as well. Our nachos were a soggy mess & did not contain any sliced Jalapeño’s. The plain pizza was thin & overcooked. The wings we ordered were burned. We did not notice until 10 minutes after they were served since we had the 3&5 yr old to contend with. When the waitress finally came around, we mentioned that they were burned. She stood there in silence so I said just look at them. Finally my sister in law suggested we pay for only half since we ate the one’s that were not completely inedible. I got thru to the owner recently & he apologized but seemed baffled by the poor performance of his staff. I told him there needs to be better attention to the food before it leaves the kitchen, PERIOD!

amateur hour-way too many frat boys and mall girls, but it is belmar so what do you expect? honestly i’ve noticed that almost every single bar in belmar is the same. they have the same cover bands, and the djs play the same music-it’s like there’s some sort of rulebook that these bars have to follow about being bland and unimaginative. there’s the old saying well that’s what the people want but i disagree-there are plenty of people who don’t go out because they don’t want to hear top 40 all night-try playing good music-not just a medley of z100, and you’ll see alot of people(and their wallets) come out of the woodwork-and with this economy that’s a good thing.

Stopped in here Friday night with Toot for beers and chow. We had followed our usual procedure of catching a buzz first at Toot’s place, or the Heineken Crab Lounge, as we call it. That name comes from a huge neon sign that lights up Toot’s bar room. A beer, a shot of Sauza Tres Generaciones Tequila and a few hits on Toot’s magic pipe and we’re all set! The 507 was packed on a miserable night with rain and extremely high winds. At first there were no seats at the bar so I checked the back room. There was a private party going on but a lady at the door told me I could come on in and join the party. I declined this kind offer and rejoined Toot at the main bar where two seats miraculously opened up for us. The service was just OK to be honest. Our barkeep, an attractive blond, was somewhat aloof and responded to our drink requests in an icy manner. The other bartender who gave us a round was no more friendly. Not sure if something was wrong or if that’s just the way they always are. It was busy but that’s no excuse. I had a Peperoni Calzone that was delicious. Toot had a Veggie Pizza as this was a Friday in Lent and he’s a good Catholic as opposed to me, a «fallen» Catholic, who dares to eat meat on Fridays and who never gives up anything for Lent. Toot said his pie was also delicious and we both ate every crumb of our meals. We had a few more beers and a shot of Patron Silver($ 8 with our meals. After some good conversations with our fellow imbibers it was time to go. Toot had been ignoring me anyway as he was concentrating on speaking to a classy brunette seated next to him at the bar. Wrapping up: the good: great food; a friendly fun crowd, pretty cool bar décor. Really the only negative was the less than friendly service.
