Excellent fresh food. Use your GPS as it is a bit off the main hwy. Small but many options. We came at lunch so everything was just made.

This is one of my favorite places to eat in Belton! The staff is super friendly and always attentive. I love the spring rolls too. Highly recommend!

Maybe small buffet but a big variety with great flavors. Visiting from out of town and would highly recommend Jakes.

Don’t let the small size of this restaurant fool you! This restaurant is BIG on quality and GREAT taste!!! The entire buffet is really good but the Coconut shrimp is the BOMB! Daughter is a freshman at UMHB so it looks like this will be a definite stop for the next 4 years! #goodfood

Love this place. It is small, but the food is GREAT!!! They put a huge selection in a very small area. The flavor of the food is wonderful!!! My husband and I love to eat here. One year when we couldn’t get in at Deadfish Grill for Valentine’s, we ate here. I think we enjoyed it much more than we would have had we eaten at Deadfish. Love this place!!!

Not sure how they won an award or who gave it «Not the best Chinese buffet» We tried this place as well, being new in town… First of all this place is not very clean. There were 8 choices and they considered this a buffet, not one of the 8 items were vegetables. Or tofu or non fried items… bottom line the food was not good. At all. Another place we won’t visit again.

Not for me. I went here once and was not keen on trying it again. If you have a lower standard on how you want your food(aka it doesnt taste like dirt and its cooked), you’ll probably like it fine. If you only like indulging in take out or buffets when it’s great food, go somewhere else. I would rather drive to Killeen to eat at a better place.

I think, thanks to today’s clarity, that I am not a Chinese buffet kind of person. Granted, it’s been years and I’ve never been exceptionally pleased by a buffet, so maybe I’m not the best one to ask. However, I feel like I generally have a good idea of what kind of experience I like to have. I mean, lots of yummy food to select from, just enough service so that my table doesn’t build up with unnecessary dishes and my glass doesn’t get ridiculously low, and most definitely not feel like my meal is a sprint. Jake’s(nice name for a Chinese buffet, by the way) hit two out of three. 1– There’s a generally good selection of food for the size of the restaurant and I felt like the variation kept my taste buds from boredom, it just didn’t dazzle them. My egg drop soup, usually a favorite, was bland and boring. I tried to put salt and pepper in it to season it into«consumer worthy» but the pepper came out like a tan powder and I just couldn’t get the flavor up without dumping an unreasonable amount of salt into my small bowl, so I ditched it. Moving on, the eggrolls were typical, the rolls tasty, the honey orange chicken okay(I think Panda Express beats it easily), and the other food eatable but not amazing. The dessert bar was good, fruit, pudding, desserty items galore and that was definitely the highlight of the meal. 2– Our water was provided by one of two waitresses and she was very prompt. HOWEVER,(3) when our meal drew to an end, and I do mean drawing nigh, just not quite there(I was midway through my fruit/dessert plate), the waitress literally dropped my check and started talking to me about payment even though I was on my phone being led through an automated system in order to pay with a new credit card! Seriously. The meal had to be split because of business expense accounts and she wouldn’t just come back. Not only that, she ended up mixing our cards(which look identical) and leaving us to figure out the mess. NOTCOOL. The rudeness of the situation kind of ruined our lunch. This alone will keep me from going back. Otherwise, it was a decent lunch, for folks without adventurous or skilled tastebuds, but nothing in the way of true enjoyment. It’s nice that it was voted«best buffet» in 2012, but I think I will have to go in search of the 2013⁄2014 winners just to verify that Belton doesn’t have such bad taste in restaurants. They can’t all be bad, right?!

Not horrible but far from great! How is there so many good reviews?! I had the Lo Main lunch special it was very land and served with rice that had been reheated I don’t know how many times… The hot and sour soup was bland and looked like the mushrooms were far from fresh! Don’t let the«BESTBUFFET«sign fool you, Money talks and BS walks!!!

OK my peeps, here is the«in the know» skinny on this BUFFET. First, to get it out of the way, yes the buffet section is small, however, it is packed with flavor This location has been voted«one of BELL Counties» best. If you are Like me and fancy more authentic cuisine vs the americanized version of our Asian persuaded delights, this place rocks a killer menu. All of the food is great, yet there is something greater yet about this local. Its small, so the buffet is constantly refreshed but moreover is the customer service by this family owned eatery. To me, that is the intangible that can’t be replaced, did I mention very reasonably priced. I’ve been eating here for years, and I would stack it against any«super buffet». Its a treat to see this place thrive. If your in the area, meander on through and I promise you won’t be disappointed! Cheers :)

For a small town Chinese buffet it’s pretty darn good. Just went there yesterday actually and it’s better to go around lunch time since that’s when everything is fresh. But it’s good for when your in a hurry and on a budget
