I just want a good plate of food. Is that such a hard thing to ask? This is my second restaurant of the night and it’s still pretty gross. I just tried Gatti’s and it was downright disgusting, so I thought I’d get Mexican. How hard is it to mess up Mexican? Apparently it’s not difficult at all. The place is overrun by flies, the service is a disaster, and the interior is so run down! The menu items did not come as they were described but at this point I just want to get out of here. Of course, I have to find a waiter to take the bill first.

First they charged 99 cents for 1 extra corn tortilla that we have yet to receive, then 99 cents for a refill of lemonade. The tortillas were supposed to be 2 flour and 2 corn instead we received 2 corn and 1 flour. They used a Styrofoam cup to dip tea and then put the cup back in the pitcher. I used to love this place but will not be back after today.

Favorite Mexican restaurant in town! Excellent service and excellent food! Their salsa is the best I’ve ever had! I recommend the torta Cubana and the chimichanga! Both are delicious! Only down side is that they don’t have many drink specials or a bar, but the food makes up for it!

My sister and I eat here at least twice a week. Best salsa around. The veggie fajitas are my absolute favorite. I always pay cash because on more than one occasion, my credit card statement was overcharged by a few dollars.

Huge disappointment. Server was kind of rude. I ate chicken flautas. They were greasy. Meat tasted like it had been pulverized in a blender and flavorless and dish did not set well with my stomach. Rice tasted bad and cold. My friend ordered combo plate with beef fajita meat and something else that looked like gristle. Meat smelled bad and very greasy which server stated things there were greasy. He sent it back and had ordered an enchilada on the side. He said it was good but also swimming in grease. When server brought it she said manager told her to tell him he would have to pay for anything else he ordered even if it wasn’t good. He ordered a chalupa and ate it saying it was OK. We told the server we were through and she left and went and sat down to eat. She got up and we thought she would bring the bill but she sat back down to eat again. We went to front to pay and were told the total. We had to ask to see the charges. We’ll never eat at another of this chain. We should have known when they had hardly any business on a Saturday night.

I’ve been tricked! Bamboozled! Had! Sol de gets three stars from me because they have the most attentive servers I’ve ever encountered. I’ve been three times since moving to town for school and each time my server has been one of the sweetest people I’ve ever met. The two stars it lost was because of food. I don’t understand. It’s just not good food. Everyone raves about their chips and I understand that it’s Tex Mex, not authentic Mexican food, but it’s simply not good. I’ve had the enchiladas, chips & queso, crispy tacos, chicken and beef fajitas and, most recently, their breakfast tacos. They were all sort of… Bland. Especially the breakfast tacos. This isn’t the worst food I’ve ever had but I certainly wouldn’t return unless someone else was paying, as it is decently priced and you do get quite a bit of food for your money. If you just want something to eat with excellent service and you don’t quite care what you’re eating, stop here. Otherwise, I’m not entirely sure it’s worth the time.

Ate there for Lunch today: Our server=EXCELLENTJOB Our food=Zero flavor, cold rice cold beans minutes after being served. Our Ice tea==EXCELLENT sorry we read the reviews, gave it a try, not the flavor we expect. And we waited and waited for our check-never got one, we got up went to the counter and the lady had our total. pretty cool. Sorry ladies, you got to bump up the flavor…

Despite the fact that they upgraded their décor, there is still a huge mismatch between the ambience and the furniture and plating. The food was not bad, but nothing at all unique about it. If I were looking for awesome ‘Mexican food’ in Belton, I’d look first to Coronas de Oro or Taqueria Mexicano. I’d like this place much better if they could decide whether they are going for upscale or not. Just confused. Last thing though: the portion size was phenomenal.

It’s okay to go once but doubt I’m going again. Service was really slow and food wasn’t really worth it but it’s nice to go eat when there is a small band playing. Nice atmosphere

This is one of our favorites in the area. Torte Cubana is awesome! My husband also likes the Texas fajitas with the bacon wrapped shrimp. I had shredded chicken enchiladas last time, also good. I didn’t care for the chimichangas. they are skinny and not much inside, almost like a taquito. The ones I am accustomed to are basically deep fried burritos. The service is great, no complaints there. You can expect the same style of food and quality of service from the Morgan’s Point location.

Margaritas served in tall beer glass was unusual. I had fajitas. They were stir fried style with jalapeños mixed in. All dumped on a plate with rice and beans. I like jalapeños but the option to have them on the side was not given. Waitress didn’t know what the special was. I had to tell her! Needless to say I won’t be back!

In the past I have enjoyed this restaurant, but even with the remodel, it seems to be getting grungier and grungier. The food is barely passable now and the dinning room is full of flies. The window next to our booth had put to five flies on it in addition to the four or so flying around our heads. The air conditioning is not on and they refused to turn it on. Sad day at Jaliscos.

I get 3 breakfast tacos with eggs and sausage on corn tortillas regularly. Great food, great service in nice surroundings. BTW $ 2.49 as long as all 3 have exactly the same 2 items. Claudia, a good wait person, takes good care of about 20 of us every Wednesday morning. Great lunches and dinners also that are responsibly priced.

I have ordered twice. First time was marginal food, no problem with take out. Second time was dismal: order was wrong, food was almost inedible. I have never tasted such tough flour tortillas and burnt tough beef. Slopped together in to-go containers when there was hardly anyone in the restaurant and no one else on drive through. When a restaurant isn’t busy and the food and service are terrible, there ISABSOLUTELYNOEXCUSE. I called to speak with the manager and had the $ 25 charge reversed from my credit card. If you don’t care how much you pay for awful food, keep them in business. I won’t bother ever again, and I urge others to avoid them also.

Finally! Good breakfast tacos in Belton!!! My husband and I go here for fajita dinners every so often but we never realized they had a drive thru. Well, after being fed up with the absolutely disgusting breakfast tacos at another establishment just around the corner from this one on Sparta road, I decided to see if Sol was open for breakfast. ITWAS. Thank god. Fajitas were always delicious, and I am happy to now say that the breakfast tacos were delicious as well! Best I have found in Belton by FAR, and they remind me so much of my favorite breakfast tacos I get in San Antonio and Austin. Happy customer!

This place is holy grail status for me when it comes to TexMex. Whenever I’m back in my hometown for any amount of time, I have to get my Sol De fix. Granted, the only thing I ever order(if we aren’t talking breakfast tacos) is a chimichanga topped with queso, but why venture away from something you already know you love so much? The wait staff is always friendly and the service is always quick. They also just recently did renovations to the interior of the place and jazzed it up a little bit. It has that small town vibe & the food is delicious, so I just can’t get enough.

I am so disappointed by Sol De Jalisco! Came here Friday night for dinner and was so underwhelmed. I ordered a salad with chicken and a side of guacamole. My salad had little fine chicken bones all in it– yuck. I understand that sometimes you may find a bone in your food but I was constantly picking them out and trying not to swallow them. Not cool. The guacamole never came. My husband had the fajita special and wasn’t impressed. And we aren’t picky people! After our food was delivered our waitress never came back by our table to check on drinks, etc. They weren’t particularly crowded, either. We had considered ordering margaritas but the table next to us sent theirs back and our waitress never checked on us so we never had the opportunity. Again, I was so disappointed! I wanted to love you, Sol De Jalisco!
