This humble little place serving Tiburon local community. People work hard here. They serve good food and friendly service. This is a great little takeout place in the heart of Tiburon. This town needs more local eateries.

I tried this place during lunch hour at work and I was highly satisfied. They have great lunch hour specials and the menu is extensive with what they have to offer. Their lunch menu is Monday through Saturday from 11−330pm. All entrées come with your choice of fried rice, steamed rice or chow mein. My first time here I ordered the mango shrimp with chow mein. The lunch special gives you a very nice size portion, well worth it. The chow mein had a very good taste and the portion can be filling. The mango shrimp had a sweet but zesty sauce and mixed with fruit and peppers to top it off. One of the better lunch hour spots in Tiburon.

I just moved to Marin Co. from Chicago and have yet to find good Chinese food. I have tried three places including Mings and they all are like cafeteria style food. Not great quality, not great flavor. Service was friendly but I went with four people for dinner and all of our meals came out 5 minutes apart. Not impressed and don’t get the great reviews.

I would love to give it a higher rating because the lunch specials are wonderful and the location is perfect. The fish tanks are interesting and the seating allows for flexibility between intimate conversation and large groups. The problem is that there isn’t a vegetarian option for the lunch special. Otherwise the food is great. Also, there is a person — maybe the owner — who speaks English so one can address dietary or allergy restrictions. Finally, every time I go, there are regulars that are Chinese diners — so the food is obviously authentic. It is hidden in an alcove near the Tiburon Library used book store, on the route to and from the charming downtown area, and on the way to the Angel Island Ferry. The weekday lunch is $ 9.99, Well worth it if you aren’t a vegetarian or pescatarian.

Great Chinese food overall but they are often low on salt which is not desirable. Because of the low salt many of their dishes lack that ‘zing’. The lack of salt is not a subjective opinion but is an overall experience of many people that have eaten here and those I have spoken with. We ordered several dishes and every single dish, although flavorful, definitely lacked salt. If I do a takeout I usually stir fry it again with salt, pepper and a little more spice. Sadly the same technique cannot be repeated with dumplings which are also low on salt and makes most food here borderline bland.

New owner was a red flag for me since the old Mings food was good but the new food is fantastic! We ordered Mongolian beef, eggplant, walnut prawns, pork fried rice, pork chow mein, and orange chicken. All the dishes had excellent flavor(not drenched in sauce like other chinese restaurants). Service was great and prices are reasonable. Portions are a little small but I don’t care as long as the food is this good.

My favorite Chinese restaurant in Marin, and I think I’ve tried them all. The wait staff is polite, personable, and accommodating. Food always tastes fresh. The usual Chinese fare — no surprises on the menu — but preparation is a cut above. The beautiful ride and easy parking is a bonus.

Very good and reasonable Chinese food, pleasant and appreciative staff. Brown rice upon request. Easy to find, it is on the Tiburon Boardwalk, towards the back.

Definitely the best Chinese Food in Marin, hands down. My husband and I discovered it about 2 weeks ago and have been there around 6 times since + ordered delivery once. The food is excellent with a high grade for consistency. Things I love about Mings that other Chinese restaurants lack 1. They don’t make the food with that gluey typically Chinese American sauce. 2. They don’t serve salty food. Yay!!! Their flavorings are spot on. Everything is cooked to the perfect degree of doneness. They don’t use too much oil; everything tastes clean. Things we’ve tried and love so far: mango chicken Mongolian Beef sizzling rice soup lemon grass green beans and prawns It is a big plus that they’re open all the way through from lunch until 9pm The servers are very nice and helpful. The prices are great. I cannot fault them on anything.

sorry, this place now«bites the dust» gone, done. woman waitress for lunch, very very rude to my Mexican employee. Ignored him the whole time, so after he paid the bill and started walking out the door, she said,“you, you. .. where is the tip?” He turned and said, «no tip for YOU!» Pretty original for never watching Seinfeld. .. . «Three Martinez !»

Lily Kai two blocks away with water views is 10x better. Fresher food at Lily, less fried, less artificial food coloring, no excess mystery meat mixed into your veggie dishes, and Lilly even had nicer setting. The giant fish in the tiny tank is just cruel. Mings is just gross. I love Lily Kai. Pros are the lady serving is super super nice and the food comes out in like two minutes. If you are a big beef water looking for value food Mings is a good choice but if you want quality healthy food in a good setting Lily Kai is much better. Lunch special was a good deal to be fair and if you want a good deal you cannot find a better price in Tiburon but not quality.

Great Chinese food in Tiburon Downtown. We have been here many times and we think this place is much better than Lily Kai’s. The family running the business is very nice and food quality is consistent, wait staff were friendly. Tried the egg white with dry scallops fried rice, very very good.

I was disappointed when Dynasty left Tiburon, and less than thrilled when I tried its replacement. It was nice to find out that there was another option for Chinese in southern Marin. Mings menu looks to be that of a typical Chinese restaurant. However when requests were made(eg: could you make this REALLY spicy or could you make that really mild) they were actually honored and cooked well. Their hot and sour soup was actually hot(from spice) and sour rather than the seemingly typical hot(from the stove). The crab rangoon were good. The entrees likewise were also good. Service was friendly and expedient.

After a full day of biking around Angel Island, my husband and I were starved! I was craving Chinese food, so I broke out the Unilocal to see what I could find in Tiburon. After reading all the reviews, it was decided we’d try Ming’s. We went at dinnertime on a Friday and the place was empty. We were seated right away by a friendly host. After looking at the large menu, I decided to get the Eggplant Basil Chicken, and my husband got the Ginger Green Onion Beef. Our food came out so fast, and it was so good! The prices were wonderfully reasonable and the servings were generous. We would definitely come back here again.

Surprisingly good Chinese food, especially for Marin. We got the mango chicken which was very flavorful and tasty, the tofu with string beans which were delicious, egg rolls which were unremarkable, and they threw in a free spicy wonton dish which was a little oily but good. Their fried banana dessert is disappointing though. Fried banana without ice cream is just not the same. Food was overall pretty good though and we’d go back if ever in Tiburon. Food — 4 stars Ambiance — 3 stars Service — 3 stars Price — 4 stars

Great old school chinese restaurant. Fresh food, comes out fast, and decent service. It is way more laid back than Harmony and at 1⁄3 the price. This is a favorite– when it comes to Chinese food in Marin, this is one of the best spots around. Very kid friendly. When my three kiddos left there was a bit of rice debris. The staff didn’t mind at all and cleaned it right up. We felt welcomed.

Best Chinese food in Marin! This place is tucked away in the back of the Boardwalk center and I have always had great service and excellent food I’m pretty sure their prices are the most reasonable in Marin or anywhere in the Bay Area for that matter. All of their lunch and dinner dishes are prepared fresh to order and you can taste the quality ingredients.

Thank heavens for Unilocal. Since moving to Marin in July, we have driven by Ming’s dozens of times — without knowing it. It’s easy to get to(if you’re local) but hidden away. We might never have found it or tried it without Unilocalers high ratings. And it’s shockingly good for the price. Harmony has nicer décor, Lily Kai has better views — but Ming’s is both cheaper and better. $ 8 entrees? In Tiburon? Seriously?! Lemongrass Chicken — tasty and spicy, but not overpowering. Kung Pao Chicken, ditto. Picky eater in the family loved the Beef Broccoli. Everything cooked nicely, nothing wilted or mushy or over-salted. Nits to pick: Unusually vinegary Hot & Sour Soup.($ 6.95 ‘bowl’ would easily serve as appetizer for four people, though.) Also some random squash in the Kung Pao Chicken, which to the best of my knowledge is non-authentic filler. Restaurant itself feels like what it is, a storefront. Still — such good food, so affordable, service pleasant. This might knock off Thep Lela as king-of-the-mountain for our takeout orders. We left happy and we’ll be back often!

Ming’s has turned over a whole new leaf! Late this summer the chef and ownership changed, and the food is now tasty and well-seasoned. We’re working our way through the menu and everything so far has been excellent. So I won’t make specific recommendations; just pick what looks good and give it a try. We’re foodies and have been to China numerous times, so we know what’s authentic. This is good stuff. The old Ming’s served bland, Americanized fare and we had long since stopped going. But that was then — this is now. Give the new Ming’s a try.
