I have lived in Bend for 12 years and Café Sintra is my absolute favorite place for breakfast. Warm, inviting European café with great coffee, pastries, breakfast and lunch. Awesome benedicts, french toast, scrambles, and daily specials like huevos rancheros and breakfast burritos. They have a Portuguese sausage there called Linguica that is super yummy! They also serve the BEST Bloody Mary in town… blowing all others out of the water. Awesome homemade soups, salads and sandwiches for lunch-the Rustica is my favorite sandwich. Great for families, friends, and/or watching sports!

I am not a picky eater. I like most food. My girlfriend and I had brunch here recently, and the food was not good. The scrambled eggs were fine, but the potatoes were very bland and the pancakes were downright bad: weird texture and flavor, dense, and maybe undercooked. Do not get pancakes here. Service was okay, though the table was a bit dirty and one of our orders was long delayed. While waiting, I heard another table encounter the same issue. These things happen, and the waitress seemed apologetic about it. I got home and complained to a friend that I had a lousy brunch in Bend. Unprompted, my friend asked: «Was it that Portuguese place? Café Sintra?» She too had been lured by the positive reviews on Unilocal.I decided I needed to leave my own.

We were excited to try out dinner here. All three of our meals were incredibly Bland and disappointing. Steak didn’t include a steak knife and server never checked on us once we got our food. The three of us each got an entrée and one drink and the bill was $ 75. Will definitely never be back for dinner. Hopefully breakfast stays good

The service was excellent. I ordered the duck, my wife the crab cakes, and my daughter the grilled cheese and tomato bisque. My wife said that it was the best crab cakes she’s ever had. My daughter loved the grilled cheese and tomato bisque. I was disappointed with the duck. It was very chewy and bland. I would like to come back and try a different menu item. Overall it was a good experience.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner(Friday and Saturday 5:30 to 9:30PM). We’ve had all three meals there several times, always good. Fresh and tasty with a Mediterranean flair such as Portuguese chicken stew, gazpacho and sangria as well as more standard fare. Casual and friendly with moderate prices. Often uncrowded.

Went into Café Sintra after reading the reviews. Was craving a crêpe. Had the peach and walnut crêpe and a cappuccino while sitting outside enjoying a perfect Bend morning. I wouldn’t say it got rid of my crêpe craving. That crêpe was so incredibly good I wished they had them on a dessert menu for dinner… lol

A lot bigger on the inside than i thought it would be. The french toast trio is what I had, it was really really great! The Chai Latte is amazing good! if you want good food with little wait time this is the place to be for breakfast on weekend mornings

This place was awesome. Super conveniently located to where we stayed and a quaint little café that offered a variety for all breakfast types. The food took a little longer than usual, but once the plates arrived we saw why. The plate presentation was well executed and left our palettes drooling ready to dive in. We both dug right in and ate EVERYTHING off our plates. The portions were perfect and wonderful flavors combinations. We would LOVE to see what they could do for biscuits and gravy if they ever put it on the menu.

Avoid. Worst breakfast I’ve ever had. Reheated potatoes, cottage cheese like eggs, gooey French toast. This establishment is obviously trying to cut costs. By reusing old food. My potatoes were cooked at one point in a skillet, but they were reheated in a microwave before landing on my plate. My avocado scramble was watery and lacking flavor. Given their appearance, I think the eggs were instant. Finally, my friend’s French toast was gooey and made with day old baguette. Sorry Bend, I had higher expectations.

After attempting a couple of other places(too long of a wait) my family found this place. Our party of 7 was seated right away. The service was great and all of us were very happy with our meals. The huevos rancheros were delicious, my kids loved the thick sliced bacon that came with their meals and my dad thoroughly enjoyed his linguica scramble. He even thanked me for talking him out of a chain restaurant. Would definitely recommend this place.

Stopped by Café Sintra for breakfast w/a colleague before leaving Bend, OR. The plan was to go on a hike in the afternoon so I went a little overboard with the amount of food I ordered. Had the chorizo benedict and a side of french toast along with a cappuccino. I never had egg’s benedict or french toast using sourdough and TBH I’m not a fan. The chipotle hollandaise for the egg’s benedict was on point though so I’ll give them that. Otherwise I just wasn’t impressed – the sourdough was too tough and gave the french toast an unusual(but expected) flavor. The cappuccino wasn’t good either… the amount of milk foam was over the top and I had to scoop some out to make it drinkable. Girl needs her caffeine. P. S. They don’t accept AMEX but will take other credit cards.

I like that they are open earlier than other restaurants downtown. Ordered tea and a side of potatoes which I was told were crispy — the way I like them. I got served a reheated batch of obviously old stale potatoes that were chewy. Sometimes sauce can cover up badness but ketchup could not salvage these; I simply couldn’t eat them. I know they must have better food than that — but I think it’s offensive they tried to serve me this old food on this occasion.

The Sinatra Café is very much like many of the coffee bistros in Bend. We enjoyed the atmosphere, but thought for the price we should have had table service. The food was good but not outstanding. The folks at the café were more than friendly, but it’s not one of the places we’ll rush right back to in Bend — we have too many outstanding restaurants.

We went for an early Sunday breakfast and enjoyed ourselves very much! I had very well seasoned steak and eggs and my guy had the hobo scramble which he liked quite a lot. The only complaint we had was that the jasmine tea was a little too sweet for either of us at breakfast. The café was busy and each patron seemed to be enjoying themselves. It was a lovely way to start a Sunday!

Our office has ordered from Café Sintra a number of times. The food is generally good, well prepared, and hits the spot. The issues I have are with the online presence of Sintra, which is currently only representing their Sunriver location with menus and so on, which differ EVERSOSLIGHTLY from the Bend location, and in ways that matter. In addition, even when you get the right menu, they don’t list all the things that matter in the dishes. For instance, I ordered tacos, without avocado, and it turns out that they omitted the strongest flavour in their take on tacos, the bullshit crema-sauce-thing. I hate this, and find it to be true in many restaraunts. I don’t care if it’s considered a condiment, if you list every other ingredient in the dish and omit the strongest, most overpowering taste, you’re not making sense. Sure, many people like it. I don’t, would have been good to know the tacos were going to be overtaken by a flavour I don’t like. Generally good food, some menu discrepencies and odd choices in wording/advertisement of dishes.

This location is just as good as the SunRiver one, but of course parking is a bit more difficult and it is a little smaller. However, the food is still consistently fresh and delicious, and they serve bottomless Bellataza coffee, which is caramel-y and probably one of my favorites in town. I stopped in this morning because my house is being remodeled, and I needed a place to relax for a few hours. It was perfect and I even saw others on their own, with their laptops, newspapers, or books. Waitstaff is efficient but not intrusive, and I was allowed to loiter over my coffee and breakfast as long as I liked. Their bread is always fresh baked and warm, and I just love the jalapeño bread with butter. Today I had the spinach, goat cheese and mushroom crêpe, which was exactly as noted on the menu, if a little plain. I may ask for it with a side of hollandaise next time. I appreciated that the crêpe was very thin and not at all sweet! Definitely a favorite in Bend — relaxing, and great coffee and food. Will have to try their lunch one of these days!

Amazing breakfast AND lunch for 4 of us. Excellent selection of Bloody Mary’s, Coffee Drinks and fantastic food. We all had something different and each meal was delicious. Suzanne and Shelby served us and they were outstanding as well, always smiling even though Sintra was totally packed. HIGHLY recommend it.

A very nice relaxed café. An earthy menu with a wide selection. Breakfast goes till 3PM which I enjoyed. I had the French Toast Trio, which had two eggs and Thick Cut bacon(2 slices). Everything was well prepared and nice plate presentation. A good value @ $ 10. My only gripe was the $ 2 for a 12oz can of soda! But overall a pleasant experience and worth a visit.
