I had high hopes with all the reviews on here. The service was mediocre. Server didn’t bring the size beer requested and wasn’t very knowledgable when asked about menu items. Sushi was not bad but seemed overpriced for what we got and quality.

Tough to find at night, but worth the effort. Very straight forward menu with the basics and done well. Atmosphere and service were non-pretentious, on point, and well focused on the Sushi, Varietal Rolls and Soups. Small beer and wine selection, but solid and Sake menu decent. Definitely recommend.

Delicious fresh sushi and super friendly staff! I work at the salon next door and will definitely be referring all my clients here :)

While service is pretty slow, the food has always been fresh and tasty. I do like a little more variety but compared to other sushi places in Bend, this place is by far the best. Great hole in the wall restaurant that isn’t over priced or pretentious.

Very good sushi at a great price. It’s a bit hard to find(it’s behind the cleaner place). Must try!

Appetizers and specialty dishes really hit the spot. The 3 sushi dishes I ordered were very disappointing. Small cuts of not very fresh tasting tuna was a real bummer. The Super slow service would be totally acceptable if I enjoyed the food and ambience but this place is lacking both. I could hardly wait to get out of there to grab some better food elsewhere.

If you want to go out to an Americanized ‘sushi’ restaurant where a Korean guy in a corny Japanese chef costume stands behind a refrigerated bar and serves you 3 day old fish in rolls with 3-times more rice then other ingredients on a giant wooden boat 20 minutes after you walk in the door then Ju: no Sushi is NOT the place for you… However if you want authentic Japanese food in a relaxed and totally unpretentious environment then I highly recommend Ju: no Japanese Sushi Garden. After traveling to Europe, Australia, Asia, and Japan, I have found the rush rush, get em in and out, assembly line style of American dining to be completely lacking and quite frankly nerve wrecking. On the contrary, like a true Japanese sushi restaurant, Ju: no is more like stepping into an artists den to appreciate their artwork. The food comes out at a relaxed pace so each piece of art can be experienced in its own right. Each dish is personally hand crafted to order by the sole owner/chef/artist using only the finest ingredients. The fish and rice are prepared same day and some things are seasonal so some dishes may not be available especially if you get there later in the evening. Also since this is a sole owner operated restaurant it is sometimes unexpectedly closed so that the owner can actually have a life, but a quick phone call before hand can confirm they are open before committing. As for the food itself, I have honestly not had better quality sushi anywhere in the world(with the exception of Tsukiji market, Tokyo Japan). The nigiri is incredibly fresh and the taste of the fish is not overwhelmed by overuse of rice vinegar. The Hamachi Kama is absolutely mouth watering. And the rolls are simplistic and elegant yet delicious with an excellent fish to rice and ingredients ratio. This is authentic Japanese quazine so don’t expect giant rolls with too many ingredients to be able to taste anything, rolled up in way too much rice so you think you are getting more food then you actually are. There are plenty of ‘sushi’ restaurants in Bend if that’s what you’re into… As for the environment I can only describe it as an efficient balance of Bend and Japan. The space is quaint, with only a handful of tables like a true Japanese Sushi restaurant. The walls are modestly decorated with artwork from local Bend artists, and the food is prepped in the kitchen with a large window so that the chef/owner can make sure everyone is taken care of. I don’t usually review restaurants but Ju: no is by far the best dining experience I have had since coming back to the states. It is certainly not for everyone for the same reasons that make it so special so I only encourage people with an appreciation for the Japanese culture and style of dining to go. But if that is exactly what you’re looking for I promise you will not find a better restaurant in Central Oregon.

The owner is amazing and cares. She has been doing sushi for a very long time! And is amazing at it! It is a great place to meet up with friends and relax while enjoying delicious food. She reserves the wall space for local artists. She uses quality products in her food. Going to Juno is supporting local business 100%! Michi(the owner) is a true local. Just an amazing place!!!

What a fantastic gem tucked away from the busy street. Although it took me a min to find this place it was worth the persistence. The food was amazing! My rolls were fresh, perfectly made, and tasted brilliant. I also got a seaweed salad and cucumber salad. While both of these have a tendency to be over/under seasoned or too wet, they tasted like they were made fresh for me. I will be back next time I swing through town

Fine food, totally flaky about maintaining their own hours. Twice we’ve tried to stop by in the core dinner hours, mid-week, only to find them closed. If I wanted to «make plans» for dinner, I’d probably be looking at someplace a little more upscale. Reliability matters.

We had the best experience at Juno! The wait staff and Chef are all Japanese so if you walk in expecting to be great by an american that caters to american culture go to 5 fushion or kanpai. The ladies are warm and freindly and very corteous, and if you have experienced other cultures you can understand and appreciate their style of service here. I see a few bad reviews about the furniture, the service, etc. All ridiculous! This is NOT a fancy sushi restaurant, for lack of better term its a whole in the wall kind of place but it is clean and has excellent food and service. Quite frankly I could care less about the bar or the furniture as I don’t judge a place by that. I personally am Vegan and did not eat the sushi but my husband who is not Vegan and lived in Japan for some time, was experience sushi-gasms. He raved about the octopus sashimi and the spicy tuna rolls. I had the miso soup, eggplant & pumpkin tempura and veggies. All amazing! The sticky rice waa delicious also. if you’re looking for a great little sushi restaurant that is not pretentious or over prices this is it!

I am vegetarian, so I don’t often go for sushi. However, most legit sushi places(like this one) have at least a few creative options without meat or fish. This place has a nice relaxed feel, yet still maintains an air of quality. Excellent service and I will definitely go back.

Excellent food with many alternative dishes that compliment the sushi. Every dish I’ve had has been rich in flavor and character. Prepared extremely well and presented with care and authenticity. Not fast, yet every dish is meticulously crafted so very much worth any extra time that the preparation may take. The soft shell crab appetizer is a great example… not dipped in a heavy coat of batter, it is light and flavorful.

Authentic, fresh fish, lovingly prepared. That is how I would describe Juno. For anyone complaining about the wait time, read the sign on the door. This isn’t a place to drop in and get some pre-made bs. Authentic sushi isn’t the overstuffed, over sauced stuff peddled by a lot of restaurants in town. It is the simple, light and fresh goodness at Juno.

Ever been to a hole in the wall that has the best food in town? This is it. The sushi is as good if not better than Kanpai and the prices are cheaper. The non sushi dishes are also done very well and rival other good Japanese places in town like Kanpai. Keep in mind the place is small and not fancied up much at all and there is a possibility they could run out of a certain item late in the night(I haven’t experienced this myself but I have friends that have). I’ve been there and had fast service(I showed up early) and have been there when I’ve experienced a typical«fine dining» speed of service. The staff is friendly and I’ve never had an issue with the service. If you need a quick 20 minute meal though this is not the place. If you want that go to McDonalds. Also, they are not open every night and sometimes will be closed on nights they typically are open… check their Facebook page to find out before you head down there. If you like good sushi and like the food at Kanpai then you should try out Juno. If you like subpar sushi like Mio Sushi then you might try this just so you can experience something closer to the real thing. But then again if you like Mio Sushi you probably don’t have a good taste for sushi as it is. Lastly… I’ve never seen any hipsters there.

Place for grungy hipsters to hang out and get mediocre sushi and extremely slow service in a pizza joint ambiance. The sushi«bar» is just a table pushed up against an ordering window. There are large tables scattered around suggesting socializing with strangers is required(only a couple tables for two). It’s furnished like a cheap pizza joint — mish mashed tables and uncomfortable chairs. I could taste a bit of «fishiness» in at least one of the rolls, and overall they were very bland — no kick even though they were supposed to be spicy. The ginger was the only thing I really liked(it was quite good actually). Even the wasabi had a weird neon green color to it, and it was difficult to stir up into my soy sauce. I can make a better cucumber salad than they made — too salty, and slivered cucumber is best(not chunks). The rice on our rolls was slightly under-cooked — too firm — and the prices are what you’d expect to pay in a typical GOOD sushi joint. Definitely would not go back. I felt fortunate I did not get ill after eating here.

Boyfriend and I came here immediately after moving to Bend. We live only seconds away so we really wanted to like this place. We were very disappointed. The waitstaff was inexperienced, and terribly terribly slow. In fact, one of the waiters said to us, «This isn’t really a place you come to when you’re hungry, it’s more to hang out» after we asked what was taking so long(we had ordered two rolls of sushi and had been waiting 50MINUTES at this point). The least they could’ve done was being out our order of nigiri, which an experienced sushi chef should be able to make in mere seconds. And to make matters worse, once the food arrived, it was only mediocre. The rolls were unimaginative(80% of the rolls have cilantro in them), small in portion, and over-priced for the quality(lack of) of the ingredients. If anyone thinks this sushi is amazing, I feel sorry for those people. I wish the owner lady would step out from behind the kitchen sometimes to see what’s going on her restaurant. You couldn’t pay me to return. Sincerely, Sushi lover

Very very slow service even though we went there less than 15 minutes after opening. Still took 45 minutes before we were out of there. The staff was very nice, the ambiance was little better than a hole in the wall. The food was only OK, and the portions were too small. Didn’t get much of it and we had two main dishes and spent $ 30 incl tip. My wife made more food when she got home. We prefer Mio sushi over Juno for the same price range. If price isn’t an issue, then Kanpai is far superior.

Tucked away in an outdoor shopping center on Century drive, this restaurant might be a challenge to find on your first visit. Find it you will because the sushi is some of the very best in Central Oregon. I brought my husband here for his birthday(our third visit) and the sushi was fabulous! We could have been on Hawthorne in Portland with all the Pacific Northwest vibe going on in this place. Loved the home-style ambiance and friendly prompt service.
