At 9:00 am on a Monday morning I ordered a sesame bagel with vegetable cream cheese. I was told that there was only plain cream cheese. The bagel was cold(not room temperature) and was stale. If you like bagels, you will do better elsewhere.

Stopped in for a quick bite before an event and enjoyed eating on their outdoor deck. ‘Love it that they give you a frosted glass for the beer. The Greek salad was pretty good– it just needed a more flavorful dressing, and more veggies(more cukes and tomatoes). I ordered a Calzone, which was plenty to share with a friend. The side of marinara was stingy– but good. At $ 9.75, I expected the steak and cheese calzone to have more steak. Where’s the beef? The meat was little tiny bits — except for one piece that convinced me I was eating meat at least… but the thing was overloaded with cheese. I liked the tasty and crisp crust very much. Their pizza did not look like«my kind» of pizza — so I doubt if I would ever order it here… or the bagels — which definitely are NOT anything like NYC bagels. I would try one of their subs next time.

Though it is an order at the counter restaurant, the staff brought our food to the table. All were friendly with great service. We only got bagel sandwiches — but they were perfectly crafted and made to order.

Got there at 9:00 when it open and they were not prepared for guests. Only options was bagels despite the menu. And on top of that you could only choose from half of their selection since they didn’t have all them. Didn’t seem really fresh, but still decent.

When you wrap buffalo chicken and cheese in a pocket of dough, I’m there! My favorite late-night snack back in SoCal is a buffalo quesadilla, so when Unilocal told me Bennington has a place with a buffalo chicken calzone, I had to try it. The price is a little more than I like to pay for a lunch, so I hope this pocket full of goodness is worth it… …it has arrived, served on a pizza tray… …eh. It’s ok. The crust was ok, but the chicken is in little tiny cubes, making it seem a little like I’m eating a pre-made-pocket-item-that-gets-hot-from-the-freezer-section. I doubt I’ll be coming back for the buffalo quesadilla. Benners seems a little disjointed, and like the owner is trying to make a nickel and dime everywhere(evidenced by the dollar refills! and little baskets of things for sale, and what-not). If I brought my family here, I could see walking out with a bill that just happened to add up to way more than I would expect to pay for a night of pizza. No one was rude, but no one was especially hospitable either.

If you are looking for pizza or a calzone in Bennington, this is your place! Skip the pizza place across the street and go here! We shared a calzone for lunch which was seasoned well with herbs and deliciously cheesy!

Buffalo Calzone is the bomb!!! Decent price bit the crust is flaky and well cooked. The sauce is good and the mix of cheeses is spot on. And the take credit cards! Which is not like most around here… Highly recommend this place. Edit as they charge a 1.00 for a fountain machine refill… Crazy!!!

Last meal of the weekend after running the tough mudder. Wife said«the washington» pizza was the best pizza shes had in years. Step son said his bacon chicken ranch calzone was the best he ever had. My chicken parm with penne was solid. Overall great meal cooked by some very nice people.

While this restaurant and deli serves pizza and other food items, I stopped here to pick up a sandwich that I would be able to later enjoy while on the hiking trail. They were a bit short staffed that morning, but I still got my roast beef sub in a decent amount of time. The sub was ordinary, but it did come with a bag of chips, which I also enjoyed while on a lunch break. This may be a decent stop to keep in mind for the future.

I anticipate we’ll be back in Bennington soon, so I’ll give it another try… and keep an eye on the register. We needed ice cream, stat, for our 3-yr-old. They had a freezer of Good Humor, but we were charged prices higher than those posted. I’d have quibbled — and I should have — but was too tired to bother. And then it bothered me. My fault.

Their gluten free pizza is very good using Against the Grain pizza crust… BUT … I was trying to find a non-Dunkin donuts bagel… Thought I would try this place… The lights were not on and smelled of fresh paint… There were only 4 types of bagels… Only plain cream cheese… Not much variety… I got 3 sesame bagel with cream cheese… They were dry, not soft, and tasted a day old… Not enough cream cheese to make this got down easily. I think I’ve tried every bagel place in Bennington, but unfortunately I still think the best bagels in town are Price Chopper. Pizza — good Bagels — not so good

Thank you, Ian! We were looking for a casual spot after Tough Mudders and found your single review. Went with the stuffed shells and spaghetti with meatballs — both were excellent and very reasonably priced. It was a beautiful afternoon so we enjoyed the front porch and sat next to the Magnificent Moose! Our son and his Mudders buddies, by coincidence, also ate here later that evening and add their rave reviews saying the calzones and pizza are THE best. We’ll certainly stop again on our next trip through Bennington. Have to try some more of the desserts because the chocolate chip cookie was pretty yummy.

I stopped in at Benner’s for dinner very recently. This family owned and operated eatery is an order at the counter place and very cozy with table seating and seating along the front window. During nicer weather, there’s also outside patio seating on the front wooden porch and a colorful painted moose too! The menu offerings include bagels, breakfast sandwiches, bagel melts, pizza(giant slice-10″-12″-16″-18″), calzones, deli sandwiches & subs, pasta, mac & cheese, wings, ice cream, cold drinks, and Green Mountain Coffee. They also have a kids menu and the prices are reasonable. I was leaning towards ordering a tuna salad sandwich, but after looking over the specialty pizzas offered, I decided instead to order a pizza and chose a 12″ Rhode Island($ 11.75 plus tax) for carryout. While I was waiting, I setup my laptop and took advantage of the free wi-fi access(password required), which had a very good high speed connection. The pizza was hot & ready in 15 minutes as promised. The Rhode Island pizza was fantastic and very tasty which was not greasy and loaded with firm linguini, red sauce, banana peppers & cheese on a very firm crust with very crispy edges. The heavy toppings were absorbed into the dry texture pizza crust. I enjoyed a couple of fresh slices in the shop while using the wi-fi before heading over the mountains towards NH. I will definitely be back to try the whole shebang pizza on the next visit! FACEBOOK:
