This place is great! Great beer and knowledge of the beers they have. Excellent service and customer care, they are very friendly. I had the garlic fries and the chicken Caesar salad, both were amazing and would recommend. I had about six different varieties of beer the gave on tap and all of them were top notch. The brothers running the place have done a great job!

Alright… I will admit, I’m usually not a big fan of hot dogs but this place offers some really cool stuff. The menu choices on hot dogs are unique. The service is great. The best choices are great as well.

I really wanted to like this place since there are so few places to choose from on Northside, but sadly their lunch food has been consistently terrible. 1st Visit — Bacon Burger & Fries Bun is soft and soggy, lettuce is wilted, bacon is chewy not crispy, fries are bland and soft. Yuck, I ended up throwing most of the fries in the trash. 2nd Visit — Cheeseburger & Sweet Potato Fries AGAIN, bun is soggy and lettuce is wilted. The cheese tastes cheap, and the ketchup tasted like alcohol somehow. The SP Fries were again too bland and soft, and also had an odd fish oil taste as well. All that for $ 7.50 to $ 9.00 for a small, tasteless lunch? No thanks, I will take my business elsewhere.

Chicken wings are cheap and just so so. Not a good place and not clean any way. Do not want to go again.

Excellent and attentive service and a great happy hour. Really great prices. I was pleased that one of the bartenders switched the TV channel for us to watch a hockey game we knew no one would be watching in the area.

This has become my weekly lunch habit. I have tried the burgers and sausages, but it is the cobb salad that keeps me coming back. The salad is served in a huge artsy tall bowl. Lettuce, bacon, avocado, egg, tomato, and blue cheese. It is a filling and satisfying salad. Thank you Daily Pint for making me come back for more.

I LOVE the Daily Pint! Great spot to grab a beer and watch some sports. Friendly service, feels like home. Beer selection is awesome, and delicious food — whatever you get. Owners be your friends after 5 minutes here :)

Let me qualify this entire review: this is all about the wings, and they are really freakin’ good. So, the wings here might be the best i’ve had in the east bay – maybe even in the Bay Area in general. I am a wing lover to death, and I’m constantly trying to find a good place to grab some wings. This place has a great, house made sauce that has the absolute perfect amount of spiciness and flavor. All things aside, the wings could be cooked a little better – I like my wings a little crispy on the drier side – but these are some really freakin’ good wings. If you couldn’t already tell, I ordered the buffalo hot wings. I also got a burger with garlic fries. The fries are pretty standard, very good and very greasy. However, the burger is sadly disappointing – I remember this being the case the first time as well. I ordered just the standard cheeseburger, asked for cooked med rare, and got a lettuce wrap. The meat was pretty flavorless and way over done. Like i said though, this entire review pretty much revolves around the wings. Also, the service is pretty good too, and they have a decent selection of bees on tap and TVs galore. Stop by if you can.

Delicious burgers at great prices. I really enjoy the bacon cheeseburger. I often wish the bacon was crispier, but I also really enjoy the flavor the way they prepare it. The burger comes with good fries. I tried one of their hot dogs and wasn’t a fan, but I’m super super picky about hot dogs(I don’t even like Top Dog). The staff always seems friendly without being intrusive, and the environment is nice. It’s one of my favorite places for lunch when I’m on campus.

They have hotdogs named after different kinds of dogs which was interesting. I ordered a chicken burger though and it was just alright. The service was slow especially when my friends and i are the only ones in there. The fries were kinda disappointing though. At least the owner was nice and location and vibe was chillax

I asked the owner how their business have been since they opened(they opened last year in case you don’t know) he said they are not really making money. You know why they are not doing so well? There is nothing special about their food. I remember in the beginning when they started their business, more people would go there, but now this place is usually empty. That is because this place has disappointed their customers. They didn’t give them an awesome hot dog sandwich, instead they just gave them a mediocre/bad hot dog sandwich for a very high price. To be honest I have tried most of their hot dogs, but they were just OK, not even good. So why I didn’t like the food here?(Note: This is just a friendly review. I’m trying to write this review to help their business actually, to help them improve). — The hot dog buns were soggy. I think if they put some butter on their buns, and put them on a pan for a few seconds then it won’t be that soggy, and it will taste much better. For some reason the buns that they have don’t taste very well. — I also feel like their hot dogs are not good quality, they taste bland. Maybe they need to invest in better quality meat? — The sandwiches here lack proper decorations, meaning that they are not very well decorated. The last time I tried their hot dogs, they didn’t look that appetizing. The hot dog that comes with bacon tasted very unpleasant, I think it was mostly because of the bacon. I feel like either the bacon was cooked months ago or it was one of the lowest quality bacons out there.
In conclusion this place needs to try harder, because they are selling a hot dog sandwich with not so good greasy/soggy fries for around $ 7.5. Why they are not getting a one star? Well because their beer selection is not bad, I liked the Jamaica red and their wings are OK. The staff is cool and welcoming, and when I once complained about my food they changed it for me which was very nice of them, but still it didn’t taste good. PS: I’ve also tried their burger once, and it was very very well done. More like it was burnt.

One of the most welcoming local spots I know in Berkeley, the owners really try to get to know you by name if you come by often. Bar trivia on Mondays are great and lots of fun, but don’t expect to win, loads of intelligent grad student groups that know too much. Burgers are definitely worth trying, definitely a top 5 burger spot in Berkeley. Great quality meat and well made. I know my burgers and I know Berkeley. Bacon cheeseburger yumm. Also giant salads and awesome variety of Tap beers. What’s not to like?

Leaning toward 3.5 stars ’cause it was a nice ambiance and the plating was nice, as my friend pointed out. Another friend also thought 3 stars was kind of harsh, so I guess I’m just being easily appeased today. \\ FOOD/DRINK QUALITY: I got the classic American cheeseburger, and my friends got the classic American hamburger, the spicy chicken burger, and the bacon burger. We all got regular fries that came with the meal. I’ll say that the price was right! It was only around $ 6 for a burger and fries, which is a deal in my humble opinion. The plating was also really clean, since it came on a really long white dish, but I’ve gotta say it wasn’t super practical when I was trying to eat my burger — probably better used on their hot dogs. The burger itself was pretty flavorful, which was the general consensus, but we weren’t a fan of the super soft buns that got mushy and soggy from the tomato. The fries were also not crispy, but rather kinda soggy and soft, which was a slight disappointment. At least everything tasted good! I’ve also been here previously for the hot dog lunch special — it’s a very average hot dog, but again, it’s cheap. \\ SERVICE: Pretty friendly, but the food came pretty slowly. We were coming from a cram sesh study break, so we didn’t mind a longer chill time, but it took about half an hour for our burgers… \\ ENVIRONMENT: Don’t be deceived by the small-looking restaurant you see through the window! There’s a ton of space in the back to sit, and it’s pretty spacious and nice. \\ TIPS: It might look like a good late night snack, but they stop serving food at a certain time at night, since it is primarily a sports bar.

I really wanted to like The Daily Pint but unfortunately I won’t be back after today. I went here shortly after it opened, intrigued by the menu and ‘Gastropub’ name. The first time I ordered the ‘Mutt’ and essentially made my own hot dog and ordered a side of garlic fries and the dog was decent and the fries were light, crisp, and tasty. It honestly wasn’t anything to write home about but I left satisfied and craving more. After craving another hot dog and fries I went to The Daily Pint a second time today and was really disappointed. First, when I walked in there was no one at the counter until the cashier noticed I had walked in and looked up from his iPad that he was reading at the bar. After noticing that I was a customer he went behind the register and proceeded to finish reading whatever he had been looking at on his iPad. I felt a bit ignored. After ordering and sitting at the bar my meal came, missing one of the toppings I had ordered and with incredibly greasy, stale-looking garlic fries. I notified the cashier(who was also working the bar maybe because of lack of manpower) about the missing topping and he did bring me some relish on the side, which was nice but those fries were absolutely disgusting and I told him I would not eat them and would like them made again. He apologized and brought out a fresh, second batch of fries which looked pretty much like the first set except less stale. This second batch was also slightly over cooked and covered in oil!!! After complaining again the server(and cashier and bartender) said that this is how they always cook them, for garlic fries they cook the fries on the stovetop in a bunch of olive oil with garlic. Yuck! Why would you essentially soak fries that are already cooked in a bunch of oil??? This is why all of my fries were literally covered and glistening in oil. The garlic fries I ate last time here were NOT like this — like most garlic fries they were either tossed after cooking or sprinkled with garlic after frying. Needless to say I was really unhappy… and that’s when it hit me that the hot dog wasn’t all that great either. After eating two of their dogs I feel like their food is basically similar to what I could make at home with a nice hot dog bun and some toppings. Nothing special and certainly not worthy of the Gastropub name. My advice: don’t waste your time here unless you want to drink beer. I did notice though that there are a few Asian-inspired items on the menu. Maybe if the owners stuck to that and made really tasty Asian-fusion hot dogs the food would be better. I feel bad giving them a poor rating but honestly unless their food improves I don’t see them lasting very long in such a competitive location. I hope they take heed and improve the food because I would hate to see the storefront empty again.

It is cool to have another bar on northside. Their happy hour and trivia nights draw a crowd which is good because past restaurants have not lasted long at this location. Their menu consists of appetizers, hotdogs, and burgers. Their appetizers actually sound the most interesting, but I haven’t tried em yet. The food is honestly unremarkable, so I would recommend just coming here for a beer and some snacks. The hamburger was fast food quality. I also tried the Japanese style hotdog and one of their chili dogs. The Japanese one had a soggy okonomiyaki in it which just didn’t quite work. The chili dog was OK. It was served on an annoyingly small plate though, which made the already messy affair much messier. Their fries were perhaps what I liked the most. Nothing fancy, but they come with the skins on and had a rustic, homemade quality about them. Come for a beer. Not too many other options on Euclid Street.

So I just went to this place last night and seeing the 4.5 star rating I was pretty excited to try it. I can’t speak to the beer, but I ordered the Spicy Chicken Sandwich, and it was awful — to say the least. For some reason, not only did the chicken taste frozen and stale — it was charred all over. My biggest complaint however was the fact that for my chicken breast, somehow, the chef screwed up and gave me a third of a piece of chicken breast. I’m talking smaller than a handful of chicken — and to make up for it, instead of making me a new sandwich or giving a refund or free appetizer, I received a plate of more charred chicken — again less than a handful. The short story is that for food, steer clear of this place. The cook was awful, and I was not impressed by the owner’s attempt at reconciliation via a skimpy plate of chicken — chicken that should have originally been on my sandwich, not on a plate. The only plus was that they have a large TV, but then again, I came for food.

The garlic fries were kinda soggy and the karaage was really just chicken nuggets, complete with ranch and carrots. The beer selection was also fairly unremarkable. On the plus side, this is the only bar northside! So you should still go because it might just be the new closest bar to where you live.

This place is dynamite. I was here this past Saturday watching soccer and college football while my girlfriend was getting her haircut. What brought me to this place was the wings — I wanted to find a place that had solid wings and this place did not disappoint. These wings aren’t frozen and tossed into a fryer they are actually plump, juicy and straight up delicious. WARNING — The buffalo wings are made with a buffalo hot sauce that has habanero in it so it has a nice kick to them! I thought they were perfect but they definitely have some heat to them. Coupled with a beer and ranch you cannot go wrong, not to mention that they have a variety of other wings to choose from! You get 6 huge wings for(I think) 6 bucks and honestly he could easily charge 10 – 11, it’s a great deal and they are delicious. Beers were 6 bucks, I was drinking IPA’s so the prices of some of the others could be cheaper… We had the garlic fries too which were pretty good — they are McDonald style, thin and crispy so if you enjoy that cut you’ll like the fries. Personally I like the thicker style fries but I destroyed the basket so there you go… There are two massive tv’s in the front and a bunch of tables in the back with tv’s so they isn’t a shortage of spots to sit and kick it. I actually hung out with the owner John for a good couple hours and honestly that’s what kept me in the bar for as long as I was there. It was dead in the morning, I think I got there around 11 am so I can’t speak to the night life, I can talk towards my early morning drinking habit… But, the owner was cool as shit, could talk sports and was just pleasant to be around. He wasn’t one of those corny bartenders that tries to pull a tip from you, he wanted to see what you enjoyed and made recommendations from that. I live in the city but I can honestly say anytime I make the venture over to Berkeley I will definitely be making an appearance at The Daily Pint, I honestly wish there were more bars like that over in San Francisco.

This place is super cute! I came in with a few friends to just grab a drink after the game. The place may be a little small, but the bartenders, especially Amanda, are super nice! I didn’t get any food, but my friends had hot dogs before I arrived and said they were awesome. Their availability of beers on tap is a little disappointing: only two, a red ale and a pilsner. Their menu says they have hefeweizen, my beer of choice, but I guess they were out. :/Instead, I went for a house cabernet sauvignon, which was quite tasty. It’s nice that they have two huge tv’s so you can comfortably see from any seat. Overall, it’s a cute little place, especially if you live on North Side. Careful, you might become a regular! ;)

The Daily Pint is a welcome addition to Euclid. I’m a grad student and my office is right by the North Gate which means that I go to LaVal’s and La Burrita all the time. I hated Phở Bar, so it was like the space was effectively vacant. The banh mi’s were way overpriced, and beer and phở is a terrible combination(both are really filling on their own). The Daily Pint finally gives me and my lab-mates another dining option. We stopped by last Friday after our group meeting to check it out. Another reviewer complained that there weren’t enough beers on tap. Well, there were 7 – 8 beers on tap and all of them were quality, local craft beers. That’s good enough for me. They also seemed to have several wine options, but we were set on beers. We had a pitcher of their IPA(not too bitter, some nice floral notes) and pints of a blonde(very smooth taste), and for the hell of it, we had a round of PBR cans($ 2 each). The prices aren’t amazing, but the prices are high everywhere in Berkeley so it’s understandable. We also sampled some of the appetizers on the menu: tempura-battered zucchini fries and lemon pepper chicken wings. The zucchini fries tasted fine although I personally prefer panko breading, because the extra crispiness of the panko provides better textural contrast with the zucchini than the softer tempura batter. The wings were pretty impressive. The were large, juicy, and cooked perfectly. I really enjoyed the lemon pepper marinade on them as well. I want to try the hot wings next time. All of the bartenders were really nice and we didn’t have to wait long for drinks or food. My lab-mates and I are definitely planning to make this one of our regular places.
