Ambiance — 5 stars, cute patio seating, would love to be here at night, cool barrels and kegs in the hallway Service — 2 stars. Our seemed rude, maybe it wasn’t his day. 1 of 4 plates was dirty so we requested a new plate and dropped off the new plate without a word. I don’t think it was just our table, he seemed to be off to the other tables as well Drinks — only serve beer and wine –Honey wheat — light and fruity, perfect for this summer weather –Riesling — smooth and crisp, not sweet, just the way I like it –Pino Grigio — on the sweet and buttery side? Artichoke dip — tasty dip with lightly salted chips

You haven’t had pizza till you come here. I’m one of those very few people who exist in this world who isn’t crazy about pizza– TILL I CAMEHERE. Came on a bumpin Friday night and luckily I didn’t have to wait too long. Had a huge group of friends so we were lucky enough to blessed with 4 different pizzas. Cassiopeia — bbq chicken sweet and tangy! Kanthina– bacon and ricotta cheese. All I have to say is damn that bacon! Triton– house made pork sausage! You’ve already won me over. And lastly but not least the andromeda. Classic cheese pizza can do no wrong! It’s beautiful in here, romantic lighting. Lamps to keep us warm in the back and a live band to keep things fun! I can’t say there’s anything else missing! Absolutely loved it here.

Jupiter pizza, beer, and friends. The best combination in the world. I love how there is ample seating here and the al fresco dining with heat lamps! After a concert at the Greek theater, I love heading over here to grab some pizza and beer with friends. I highly recommend the pizza with bacon and potatoes. Surprisingly delicious! But then again, anything with bacon is delicious.

I would give this place a 4 or 5 stars if the service was near«simply good». Unfortunately, it did not meet any of my expectations. There was a wait which we were fine with but when we were seated, we had to wait half an hour for utensils and beverages and it wasn’t even that busy, there were only 5 occupied tables on the entire second floor. When we did ask for utensils, the girl handing out the utensils seemed irritated that we asked her and not the server who was helping us out. The server was OK, was nice, checked on us whenever needed but we felt rushed later in the evening. I guess because he had to clock out or something… I’m not sure what it was. The artichoke dip was Divine, it was warm and creamy so we were happy with that appetizer order. The pizza was great! I’m not big on Pizza but this place had the best pizza I’ve had so far in the East Bay. We had the large half/half of the Gaia and the Circe Pizza, which was perfect for 3 people. Despite the somewhat upsetting service and aura which we could have gotten better in other restaurants down the block, the food and the ambiance was great. I would definitely come back for the food and probably have it outside in the Patio. Over all the Food was Awesome however, the Service sucked.

Wow! Their food is «out of this world!» We ordered the garlic bread(delicious), the artichoke dip(tasty, and not at all salty!!!), And the pizza with potatoes and bacon on it. Now, I know what you’re thinking: «potatoes and bacon on a pizza? That’s just weird.» Now Unilocaler, I don’t disagree that it’s a weird concept and confused my mouth, but it was FANTASTIC! It was so fresh and flavorful with a slight kick every now and again from the peppers. The potatoes were cheesy and complimented the rest of the pizza. The bacon was nice and soft but not fatty and soggy. It was truly amazing. The service was good and the outside patio is so cute. We did have to wait to find a table but it was more than worth it. I do wish the pizza wasn’t as expensive; but it was pretty amazing. I would definitely come back.

PIZZAPIZZA! My 2 favorite things: chicken wings and pizza. Gotta have it. Had the garlic chicken wings and it was soooooo goooood. Marinated and cooked to perfection. The ranch dressing made it taste even better. For my pizza, I had Cassiopeia(it’s a must since I play League.) Crust was a little thick in my opinion. The fillings, on the other hand, made up for the big crust. It was so yummmmy. It’s not as cheesy as I would have liked but still good. Would definitely come back! The unrelated to food stuff: Place was dimly lit. Bar on first level, additional dining upstairs. There’s a «backyard» sort of dining area. They play live music here. If it’s your birthday, you could have a beer chug contest with the server. Warning: They will down it like pouring water down a drain… Amazing.

Jupiter pizza is the perfect place to spend a summer evening. The fire-toasted pizza is deliciously crispy, they offer VEGANCHEESE(sorry, was that in caps? Excuse my enthusiasm) and have a delightful selection of beer. The serving staff is excellent and do their best with the crowds. Inside you will find they seat you but outside is a free-for-all. I wouldn’t recommend outdoor seating for a group of more than 3 people. Do yourself a favor and get an order of the chicken wings while you wait for your pizza to cook.

Great ambience and chill vibes with a friendly staff. They play great jams and not blasted too loud. A super selection of beers including a hefty selection of house brews which are served in imperial pints at a more than reasonable price. Also a great food selection that has something for everyone. My small Caesar Salad which is ample in size for me as a lunch is just $ 7.95. Jupiter is a go to place for me when in Berkeley.

This place is a cute bar restaurant. It was a monday night so it was not as busy as other people has said. If only they had some TVs, would be a great place to watch some games. The outside is a super nice patio area with a fire pit. Ended up sitting inside however since it was pretty chilly. Ended up getting the garlic wings(good), Cassiopeia pizza(great!), and the aeries pizza(disappointment). The aeries pizza was super dry, feels like they left it in too long compared to the Cassiopeia, I honestly would rather have had a little Caesars pepperoni pizza rather than the aeries, the quality was very low, tasted and felt like a microwave pizza that had been left overs. There are a wide selection of beers to choose from. I tried the honey wheat, pretty sweet and crisp. It is also dark in here, felt like I was in a holister store because it was so dim I had a hard time seeing inside at some points. To be honest, come here for the drinks because the pizza is ok, but for the price and the quality/quantity that you get for 15 $, you’re better off somewhere else. However, if you are looking for the ambiance and social aspect, this place seems like a cool place to chill.

This Berkeley icon is certainly busy; when I went on a Sunday, people were waiting for the doors to open at noon and I was one of them. Our group of 11 met here after a photo walk around the UC campus; it seemed a perfect spot to end our field trip. We sat inside because the tables are roomier inside than they are on the patio. Everyone at our table had salads except for me. I ordered the chicken wings. They sounded delicious: wings marinated in soy sauce and garlic with a bit of ginger then baked in an oven. The chicken inside was fine but the skin was kind of soggy and not as good as I had hoped it would be. The homemade ranch dressing that was served with the wings was perfect and it really madeup for the saggy skin. If I was by myself, and no one could see me, I would have used a spoon to eat it all. I did not take home the leftovers for S. The salads, on the other hand, looked wonderful and so did the pizzas that were passing by the table. The main attraction here seems to be beer, not being a beer drinker I can’t comment on what they serve. It does seem like they have many many beers and the people at our table that did have beer were very happy. I might be back to try the pizza and and maybe a salad. With so many other places to try I’m not sure how soon that will be. The service was fine and I compliment our server for finally agreeing to bill us separately. They don’t do it normally, but with a little bit of convincing from one of our more vocal members he did it for us. I hope everyone else tipped him accordingly.

Jupiter… A place themed by its starry-skied constellation pies, brews and eats. A definite hotspot for young Berkeley kids looking to unwind and friends to grab a nice bite. I’m a sucker for places that focus on good brews with the right food to boot, and this local favorite provided no complaints. First things first: I am not a big pizza fan. I never have been. Though, I LOVE how their pizzas don’t feel full, fatty, oily or processed… Their ingredients are fresh and the pizza dough they use is nice and thin yet fluffy. It’s not deep dish, not thin crust, but the perfect in-between making it almost thin crust. My friend and I split the Galileo and Cassiopeia — both favorites, promising and delicious. The Galileo was my favorite since it’s a non-meat option with artichoke hearts, tomatoes, mushrooms… Cassiopeia was a nice, sweet barbecue chicken flavor. Had their nitro stout which was SO smooth(thankful for the nitro to make it «flat»), as I could easily down several pints of those(thank the sky Gods their food can hold it down). Had a great experience here. Super casual venue. Nice ambiance. Friendly, young staff who knows their menu. I sat upstairs which was a little more intimate, but lots of people still dining around. Lower level has the bar. Outside dining area/beer garden looks gorgeous and I’d love to eat out there on a nice day. Can’t go wrong with Jupiter! Solid craft brews and tasty pizzas… and that’s coming from a non-pizza fan.

I dropped by to join some friends and share a Xanthia pizza and Athena pizza. I only tried the Xanthia pizza(let my vegetarian friends eat the Athena), but it tasted really good! It still doesn’t beat my favorite Sliver, which is just a block away, but hey it’s also nice to be able to choose from a huge assortment of pizzas. The biggest draw of Jupiter has got to be the beautiful patio and huge fire pit. It’s what gives you good vibes about this whole place. Personally, it’s the only reason I’d come back. My friends waited around an hour on a Friday evening for a table, another 15 – 20 minutes to get the pizza, and less than 10 minutes to devour everything. Because of the wait unless you’re buying alcohol and want the vibes of the patio, it’s much better to get pizza at Sliver. I understand that it was pretty busy, but service was also kind of slow. It took forever to get anyone to notice that we wanted our check even though they walked by several times.

Jupiter has a very interesting dichotomy about it. If you are new to the neighborhood, you will eventually wander here, or Jupiter is usually the first«nice» breweries /ale houses around that everybody will start to talk about. Virtually everybody I’ve ever met in this part of the Bay Area has at least been here a few times. It’s great. Jupiter is the kind of place that you generally go to for a last minute large group shindig. It is always fun, and the ambiance never lets you down. You never really«plan» a big outing here, you just sort of end up. It’s also good to go to for the occasional beer, if you’re looking to catch up with a friend, or grab a beer after work on the way home. And, their live music is also consistently well above average. I mean it’s great! It adds so much to the experience. The outdoor patio area is perfect. I would make the argument that their patio is what gives Jupiter its neighborhood staple feel. It’s twice as large as the inside, and gives a welcoming, open, inviting vibe. Even when it’s very busy. There’s a large fire, beautifully strung white christmas lights of sorts, and a giant Jupiter planet that can easily be missed, hovering a dozen feet in the air. I’ve been in Berkeley for about 4 or so years now. I’ve lost track of how many times I’ve gone to Jupiter. I can really only remember two or three fairly negative experiences there. And we are talking about somewhere where I’ve been well over 30 times. I think once or twice something was wrong with the food. Like it was overcooked, or had got something on it. But they have always taken appropriate action, so much so that we usually turned down their remedy because of how respectful the business is to its patrons. Overall, Jupiter is consistent with being original, and their rotating beer selection on draft is never a letdown. Plus their own Brews are pretty damn good. Food is… okay. Their appetizers need some work, but to be honest, if I get food, it’s usually a pizza. Jupiter’s pizzas are okay, the pizzas are not the best, but the prices are fair. So you don’t really feel like you’re getting ripped off. But I will say this, this is a brewery, and the restaurant is extra credit. So come here for the beer, not the food per se. Last but not least, I appreciate the story that includes how drakes, Triple Rock, and Jupiter all share similar roots. Keep up the work Jupiter, see you soon. (Honorable mention, why not five stars? Well, again, their food is ok, and their(very fair) prices match. But it’s not that great. And, again, their appetizers are very«meh.» It’s not bad or anything, just kind of good. Same goes with the service. It’s consistent, and the people are real, but it’s not over the top or anything. It’s just kind of good. Jupiter, however, has a very strong consistent 4 Stars.

Seriously tasty pizza and brews in Downtown Berkeley! I enjoyed the a sausage, roasted garlic, and basil pizza(the«Titan» with garlic swapped for the onions)… The sausage was some of the best I’ve had with a combination of sweet and spice that explodes on your palate. Jupiter also features an extensive in house brewery and guest tap list. I tried both the Session IPA and the Extra Hopped Pale which were both took notch beers. The service was prompt and stellar, with a waiter that could easily be making much larger tips in a more upscale joint. I will definitely be back to this gem.

Man after all the hype and the recommendations, I finally made my way here before attending a YEE( Unilocal Elite Event) for a beer or two. This place is out of this world in so many ways, honestly this place is one of those places I bookmarked and didn’t know when I was going to make my way there. But I’m glad I finally made it there. Let’s take this rocket to Jupiter. 3÷20÷16 The day was kinda wet. well a lot of wet as it was raining in the bay area, and my nerves had gotten the best of me. I was wanting to make a good impression at my first«Elite» event. I had an hour to kill before the event started. So I had been bookmarking places in Berkeley in hopes to visit some of them in time and to expand my horizons. So I took out my phablet(phone/tablet) and checked my bookmarks and«Jupiter» was on the top of my bookmarks, the best part was I didn’t realize I was standing right in front of the businesse as I was checking my bookmarks… devine intervention! So I went in quickly as it has started to rain. 5⁄5 for Service 5⁄5 for Cleanliness 5⁄5 for Beer Selection The best part about coming in was running into some friends from my town, that was cool because I was able to sample some food from them, but my mission was to have a beer or two before the event. And I did just that! I asked the.“Brewtender” :D I made that up! That I was in the mood for something with a «fruity» note to it yet hoppy. He gave me 3 samples before I settled on the one that I wanted on the«Guestbrew» selection«Dogfish Head Romanti» $ 7.00 it was a nice brew. Kind of reminiscent of Pyramid Brewerys«Apricot Ale» in taste but with a nice hoppier finish, I enjoyed every bit of it! Will I be back? Of course I will, and next time I plan to order a meal of my own to accompany my beer choice so I don’t have to sample off my homies plates. In Conclusion, this place is pretty hip and chic. A nice place for an evening with friends, a date or just stopping in after taking in the town. I would say if you never been then you should. From what I hear from some Berkeley folk I know. You haven’t taken in the«Berkeley» experience if you haven’t been to Jupiter. As always if you come don’t forget to Unilocal your own experience.

This place is more about the vibe and location rather than the food itself… It’s a beautiful and large space. I love the design and feel about this place. However, the food and service was disappointing… Ordered two pizzas: Xanthia and Circe. Pizza tasted so bad we all were just sprinkling chili peppers and salt onto it just to down it and leave… Table space is cramped which I could understand given its location, but that gives no reason to be cranky when delivering food and the table is not fully cleared for you… Also, the bus boys kept bumping into my chair was not the least apologetic about it… Saw this place once and am done with it!

My college roomie used to frequent this place when we were in school. I decided to come eat here for lunch one weekend as I was in town for a speaking event. We were pressed for time and luckily our server was great at making that possible. We were able to get in and out in a timely manner. We ordered the beet salad, a gluten free pizza, and the artichoke dip. The artichoke dip comes with bread, and they don’t have chips. They also don’t carry gluten free bread so skip this if you can’t eat gluten. The gluten free pizza was pretty good, and the salad as well. However, they’re nothing that stands out that make me want or need to return here again. Perhaps that’s because I have my favorite spots to get gluten free pizza or salad around campus. The server was attentive and he really was conscious about our time restraint so I appreciate that. I just wish the food stood out more. This spot is still one of the best joints on this street. So if you’re near by or by BART then definitely do try this spot if you’re feeling American or bar type food. There’s plenty of options to choose from.

1÷9÷16: I’m not sure if it’s always like this, but when we went it was nice and chill, and a good environment to grab some beer and drink with friends. Not loud, and I could easily converse with my friends, warmed up cozily under the heat lamps. Nice. I could be mistaken since I only tried my own and my friend’s, but their beer didn’t impress me too much, despite them claiming to be a «brewery.» They ran out of the Quasar Double IPA, but gave had a special Imperial IPA for me to try. Was okay. The waitress was REALLY hard to grab though. Several times we had to grab a different waiter to fetch her for us. And every single time she still didn’t come. Which lead to hawk eyes searching more for her rather than looking at friends and our drinks. Anyway… 1. Imperial IPA(not on their«House Brews» list): Pretty mellow for an IPA. Round taste but no distinct character other than the typical grapefruit flavor. Was okay. 5⁄10. 2. Pizza Special(shrimp, guacamole, bacon, sour cream): Was actually pretty good! The crust was artisinal, fire baked, and nicely chewy. The shrimp was REALLY tender – perfectly cooked. This was a surprise – not only is it hard to find shrimp that isn’t overcooked under normal circumstances in American restaurants, this one was perfect even baked into a pizza! Impressive. And the guac and cheese worked really well. Great pizza. 8⁄10 So, pizza’s awesome. Beer was average. Service sucks hell. Nice chill place though. Guess comes out kinda average… 3⁄5 #american #pub #bar #beer #pizza

Phantastische Microbrewery in Downtown Berkeley.
