We really enjoyed their veggie burritos, which are made with zucchini and peppers and have a very fresh, unique flavor. The service was also excellent. The guy who made our burritos was very friendly and careful, and even asked how our days were going. The prices are reasonable, so we’ll definitely come back!

The employees are very friendly and considerate when it comes to asking when you’re ordering food. They make the food pretty fast. I ordered a veggie burrito and the guy made it within 40 seconds and the burrito was pretty big with an affordable price as well. 10⁄10 would recommend

Stopped by here this past Tuesday around lunch time and it was pretty much packed. We were lucky with some street parking. Although it was packed, the line moved quickly. The menu was displayed on the wall really nicely. Simple and easy to choose from. I ended up ordering the carnitas burrito with everything in it and my boyfriend got the steak burrito. The burrito comes with chips and salsa. There is limited seating, so it makes it a really nice order and go place. We were also lucky getting a table. The burrito extremely hot which made it nice to eat rather than getting an oddly warm burrito. Everything tasted fresh. I know my boyfriend enjoyed everything. He also got back in line to get a steak taco to go because the food was that good. Will definitely be back again.

Lately I’ve been in Berkeley wondering where to get good cheap Mexican food. Didn’t want to walk to far so I strolled around the Downtown Berkeley BART station and looked around the area for a Mexican food place. I was actually about to pass over the sign that guided me to this great place. First of all, the name is nice(«Fresco» sounds lovely in my head lol) Second, the menu is on the left side when you walk in through the entrance. Readable font and the prices definitely wowed me. The first time I came here I had the guacamole quesadilla. It was $ 6.00! So delectable and had a very satisfactory amount of guac to cheese ratio. I ordered it to eat in and was not expecting plating of the chips. Usually the Mexican restaurants/Taquerias serve them in a separate bowl but I really liked that they gave just a few chips and a light topping of pico de gallo on the plate with the quesadilla(I often go off the boat and end up eating more chips than I wished). They provided me with a satisfying amount of sour cream and salsa too which was also delicious. The second time I came here I ordered a 3-in-1 quesadilla(meat, cheese and guac combo). SOTASTY! I mean if I really had one complaint it was that I wished the chicken in my quesadilla was a little more juicy. It wasn’t dry as hell or anything, but it was acceptable lol. Apart from that one nuisance I asked for extra guac and it was at no cost which gave me life. I also asked for some lime to add some kick to the quesadilla. Tasted great! I will definitely come back here another time to try their burritos or bowls. I recommend this over Chipotle honestly. and they put on a good radio station(s) whenever I’m in there. LOVEMY90’s THROWBACKS. They deserve another star for this(is a 6-star rating available?) The food is delicious, and there’s great customer service; the gentlemen are always nice and vibrant in personality, which makes this a 5-star(and more if possible) for me.

Delicious Mexican food prepared fresh in front of your eyes while you wait Limited seating and gangster rap along with students adds to interesting atmosphere. Great for lunch. Near bart. Enjoy local flavor and flair with plenty of homeless, drug addicts and other counter culture personalities walking nearby and occasionally dining

Boy oh boy this place is good. Its a fresher, more healthier alternative to mexican food but trust me the doesnt mean it lacks flavor. This place reminds me of a quaint family run chipotle and their menu options are all deliciously filling Get the chicken tacos, pack them with all their fresh topping choices then drench them with the bottled sauce found on every table. Ugh so good.

The ultimate breakfast burrito is underwhelming. It has bacon and sausage in it, but both of those things tasted like they came out of a can. Also, I totally agree with the commenters that say the black beans taste like cardboard. I was really hungry after a workout so I ate it anyway, but I wouldn’t get it again.

Veggie Bowl had black beans that were barely cooked at all – cardboard-y. Vegetables themselves were uninspired. Mediocre at best.

Burrito was nothing special and the veggies added in my veggie burrito were a bit of a let down. However the guac I accidentally and the salsa for the chips that come with the burrito taste really fresh. If their breakfast burritos have eggs as fresh as their guac and salsa though this place might get the bump up to 4 stars after a potential future visit.

I can’t say enough good things about this place — the food, the service, and the price are all amazing! I got a chicken bowl today, and it was delicious! There’s a line of rice, beans, meat, salsas, cheese, lettuce… You get the drill. It’s very comparable to Chipotle, but they have jalapeños here! I LOVE pickled jalapeños, and I always thought Chipotle bowls would be better if they had jalapeños. And at Fresco, it was exactly what I had hoped! It was $ 7.25, no tax, and it came with chips and salsa! Literally mind blown. This place is pretty unassuming, and I’ve walked by it numerous times, but it’s definitely worth checking out!

Eh. Pretty bland Mexican if you ask me. Not to mention their corn tortillas resembled cardboard more than tortillas, which is always a bad sign. I opted for 2 spicy chicken tacos and they were cheap, large, but alas, not great. As mentioned, the tortillas were low quality and fell apart immediately and had zero taste. The chicken was ok, but again not as flavorful as one would hope with the name«spicy chicken». The cheese was low grade and added nothing to the flavor of these tacos. A whole bunch of tastelessness thrown together. Why three stars you ask? It was cheap. EVERYONEWASORDERINGBURRITOS. It’s also super convenient; right in the heart of downtown Berkeley, steps away from BART. I probably wouldn’t revisit, unless in a bind and then I’d go straight burrito and forgo the tacos.

This is place is small but definitely worth a stop if you are looking for a good breakfast burrito. I got the ultimate and enjoyed every bite. The burrito was a but soggy but I didn’t mind that. I also made a mistake and cut it in the center. Since its a bit soggy that made for more of a mess than was necessary. They serve you chips and salsa with your breakfast. I added some of their sauce and it was spicey! I love spicey! My complaint? After drinking my diet coke I asked if they had a restroom. They guy tells me to go next door and the guy from the business next door was a rude man. The guy who worked here could have told me better instructions on how to get to the restroom. Very frustrating when you have to wander around an area you are not familiar with looking for a restroom. I would have rather the guy say there was no restroom than to wander aimlessly looking for it.

Fresco is a small private restaurant that can be easily missed if you aren’t looking. The owners/workers are real nice! A while ago I used to be a kind of regular and they somewhat recognized me and were always friendly and nice. The venue itself is small, not good for large groups but great for 2 – 3 people. It’s basically a private chipotle. Same style where you can choose your type meat and veggies and salsas. The portioning is more even here definitely compared to the telegraph chipotle. It kind of also depends on how busy it is. I usually get the burrito bowl unless I want some carbs in which I get the regular burrito with chicken. The prices on the menu already include tax.

Purchased a bacon breakfast burrito with spicy salsa. While messy as mentioned by other reviewers, it was absolutely delicious! I’m a serial meal non-finisher but I ate every bite of this portable breakfast creation. Bacon was crispy, egg was made to order, salsa was spicy — nothing but deliciousness! To top it off, the three people working were friendly and the place was orderly and very clean. I’m only here for business but if I could eat here everyday, I would.

If you are in downtown Berkeley and just want to grab a quick burrito, this place is not a bad option. Their ingredients/meat are pretty fresh. I’ve only tried their breakfast burrito(recommended) and the carnitas burrito. However, the food here is a bit bland(not much taste to their burritos). The portions are huge and the prices are fair. The staff are friendly, but the service is a bit slow.

Simple and fresh tacos and burritos. Sometimes simplicity is the way to go. The breakfast burrito at Fresco really surprised me. Freshly made eggs, beans, cheese, some sausage, and salsa. Simple, yet very tasty. I have also tried the tacos. The pair of two-tortilla tacos were large and loaded. They had beans which is not something you see all the time. Everything tasted fresh. Food is not expensive and the restaurant is small so it is probably best for a quick to-go lunch or breakfast. Try the breakfast burrito!

Wanted to grab a quick bite for brunch and go, so decided to give this place a try! There was no line so not much of a wait. Food was hot n’ ready in less than 10 minutes which was nice. I ordered the classic sausage burrito-only $ 5.50-which was super cheap! The burrito was decently sized and came with salsa and tortilla chips on the side. The employees were super nice and friendly… however only gave 3 stars because the burrito was lacking… in flavor, seasoning, amd meat(hollah if you feel me my carnivores out there!). I’m a breakfast burrito lover… so I had high hopes after reading good reviews on Unilocal.I’d maybe back for the cheap $…but only forsure if they add more meat!

I was in a hurry trying to make it to bart and stopped in for a quick to-go order. I ordered the steak bowl and for the amount of food I was given, I was completely baffled at how little they give. A steak bowl for $ 8.50 with guac should’ve definitely had more food than what they gave. I honestly am still hungry after eating the entire bowl. This is disappointing since 1) I don’t have time to buy more food 2) I got ripped off and 3) This place was«compared» to Chipotle. Not even close. ALTHOUGH — I will admit the steak meat is MUCH better here than at chipotle. It tasted freshly cooked despite sitting out for a while.
