Raina’s Textile House

A beautiful space run by a lovely artist. I took her beginning felting class and seriously this class changed my life! I’ve already signed up for another class! Thank you Kim for sharing your art and your technique!

I took a wet felting class with my friend yesterday with Kim, the proprietor of Raina’s Textile House. She is a wonderful instructor! Her explanations were both clear and concise, and you can tell she loves her craft. Our particular class also had two children in attendance, and she taught the four of us at the same pace and answered every question we had about process, her history with felting, and how to problem solve issues with our pieces.
Kim had a welcoming presence for everyone involved, and a great sense of humor. She also spoke to and tended to the customers who came in during class, as she manages both the class and storefront simultaneously. Not once did I feel she ignored customer nor student at the expense of the other.
Regarding the store, it is a treasure trove of textiles, both of her own making and of cultural traditions. Any questions about the pieces makes it very apparent how passionate she is about the textile process, the cultural history, and her desire to share this appreciation and knowledge with others.
I will definitely be coming back! And for more felting classes as well.
