Starr Violet Skin Spa

Receiving even a basic facial and brow waxing from Starr Violet, which I did earlier this week, is to have a top-​of-​the-​line spa and grooming experience. I know this sounds like a commercial, but my spouse and friends definitely noticed a difference on my face right away, and I can totally feel and see the difference, too. Starr is extremely experienced and makes the personalized care and attention she gives seem effortless. The brow waxing job that Starr does can’t even compare to other salons I’ve been to. The facial not only did what it was supposed to do in terms of rejuvenating my skin, but it also involved massage, aromatherapy, and a very nourishing, nurturing atmosphere and environment with no artificial scents, bad music, or other distractions that can sometimes make a spa experience less than perfect. And to top it all off, Starr is a very warm and genuine person. Five stars plus for Starr!

Starr Violet is the best skin care professional I have ever met. She is one of the best professionals in general. She is not only talented but her customer service is top of the line. You may think all these 5 star reviews can’t be real but they are, my friend, she is that good.
She has a gift — her sweetness and gentleness comes through in her work and you feel so nurtured after getting a treatment from her. Going to North Berkeley is not convenient for me anymore but I will go there to see her.

And because she is so in demand, this sometimes means that I rock the hairy pit look for a while because again,

There were times when I went to cheap nail salons and let them break my hair off for cheap. And then I would grow a 3 o’clock shadow in my armpits and cry and go back for more inexpensive follicular destruction.
But then I found Starr, who is exactly as stellar as her name suggests. Her waxing is done with exfoliation, massage, aromatherapy, breathing exercises and the most quick, painless technique I’ve encountered.
I feel like I’ve made my point.
Now let’s cut to the chase for the next bit:
Starr is an amazingly gifted, tender, savvy, hip, and pampering esthetician. I used to go to her every month for a facial, but sadly I haven’t done that in over a year. Gotta prioritize the funds these days, and it all goes to the fur.
I am shocked it has taken me this long to recommend the best of the best, but I’m greedy sometimes with my best kept secrets.

I have been seeing Starr for my eyebrows for about 6 years, and I would follow her anywhere — she is awesome. Ever since I have been going to Starr I have been getting complements on my eyebrows. She really spends time making sure her clients are comfortable and relaxed, so that they have most pleasant experience possible with aromatherapy and a soothing atmosphere. I never feel rushed, and always feel welcomed. She is also meticulous about making sure that my eyebrows are perfectly on point. Starr is easy and fun to talk to, and she has an amazing memory. I just got back from a long trip, and I am looking forward to my next appointment.

After thirty years of facials here, there and everywhere, I can confidently say that Starr Violet is the absolute best. She listens to what you want, her technique is impeccable, and she creates a soothing experience whether you are there for a wax, a tint or a facial. She is a warm and caring human being and that really comes through. The atmosphere in this new space is much friendlier than Art Beat where she used to be. But, honestly, i would follow her pretty much anywhere. Treat yourself!

I am so grateful that I found Starr five years (whoa! I can’t believe its been that long) ago and now that she has her own space, which is dialed in to perfection, I am even more excited! No one has ever come close to her attention to detail, care, compassion, and overall quality of service. I go to her for all my waxing needs, and she is the only beauty professional that has never once tried to upsell me. That speaks volumes about her commitment to her clients and her thoughtfulness. She has my loyalty 4 eva for that and a dozen other reasons. She’s the best.

Oh man! Starr has created a lovely, tranquil new space at elixir salon! Starr is so wonderful! I had the worst headache when I came for my appointment but after 20 ish minutes with Starr I felt like a whole new person. A new person with perfect brows, I might add! She has incredible attention to detail and includes niceties that upgrade a quick wax job to a thoughtful and professional spa appointment. I cannot wait to get a facial from Starr in this lovely new space, I’ll take some pictures next time I go. Starr has a wonderful personality and is so fun to talk to. Thanks Starr, I will definitely be back!

Starr is absolutely AMAZING! She keeps everyone at Mister Beever’s Paws & Claws looking professional and not at all like the lovely hairy beasts we take care of daily. She can tackle any brow with ease. As a guy, I was beyond nervous to have my brows waxed. She made it easy. Not to mention all the ladies keep giving me compliments since I ditched the uni brow!
