I have been going to the spot on and off for years. I must say the food has become outstanding. They have Samuel Adams on tap so that is also a plus. Large out door dining for nice days. Pool table in the back. Nice menu selection and a bunch of beers on tap and in bottles. Vibe is a dive bar and those are the bars I enjoy going to. Never had any problems with staff or patrons.

I have come to the spot on several different occasions. At first I thought it would just be a «dive bar» with bar type food, but the tacos on taco tuesday hooked me! The tacos are absolutely amazing! They are innovative and delicous! I happened to come on a non tuesday(tacos are only on taco tuesday) and was apprehensive to order anything else, but I was pleasantly suprised when I ordered the bethel burger! It was amazing! They ground their own meat and you can taste the freshness! If you are ever in bethel, be sure to check out the spot. The food is fantastic and the atmosphere is comfortable for everyone.

The food i have had there before was good. The feel of the place is college bar with no people in it. One bartender and no wait staff means good luck getting food. Still the tv’s drew me in… Now I don’t want to be a diva here and I have been known to visit some bad places… but the reason I won’t come back is the amazing collection of boogers in the bathroom by the urinal. Now people are gross I get it. I can overlook the fact that the bathroom door appears locked unless you put some shoulder into it, that the graffiti in the bathroom is at least five years old or that there are no paper towels(keep in mind there were no people in the bar to use said paper towels) Hell I could even overlook a booger or two, I mean who am I to judge? But what we had here was a collection of boogers and nose hair so comprehensive in type and vast in number that it could not have been put together in less than a month. Not unless there was some online initiative of «guys I know a great place to put our boogers». I mean there are no patrons so unless the one bartender tracks his time card by placing boogers on the bathroom wall and said bartender had been working for at least 16 hours… unless that is true. I can’t help but come to the conclusion that they have never cleaned the bathroom. ever…

I went here for my 21st birthday and I was pretty happy with it. They had a special on Tuesday — $ 3 tacos and $ 11 pitchers — which was great. I brought a group here and we hung out on the couch and played a couple rounds of pool. Their mixed drinks, like margaritas and sex on the beach, were $ 7/ea. I got pulled chicken sliders with sweet onions that were delicious. I ate them so fast and wished I had more. Everyone around me got $ 3 tacos and they seemed to really enjoy those, too. It’s nice for groups. Our waitress was very nice. I did ask the owner of they had any specials since it was my 21st, but he said no. That kind of bummed me out because I would have expected otherwise… Like at least a free birthday shot, since I couldn’t imagine that would exactly put them out of business. Oh well. The atmosphere is ok, nothing special. They have outdoor seating as well. This place is getting 4 stars primarily for their food.

The only bar in Bethel where you can find seamen in the urinal, coke on the toilet seat, people acting disorderly and all around stupid, and over priced drinks meshed with a disgusting atmosphere that resembles sticking your face in John Travolta’s armpit after a sweaty August jog through the Hollywood Hills. Honestly, avoid this place to the best of your abilities. There are better bars like Portifinos, Echo, Greenwoods, and House of Yoshida.

I really give this place 3−½ STARSBUT I can only choose tween 3 – 4. Been here twice in past few months. Traveled 30 min to get there. Food is AMAZING! Staff friendly. We were here both times on a Sat night one night there was a dreadful 80’s. Style band playing after an awesome dinner we quickly left. Our second visit was much more quiet with few people there. Need some quality music brought in. This place with a little more attention is a diamond in the rough.

Interesting. At least the staff is nice and j used to come here with my girlfriends when I was 16. The monkey game is still fun though.

Best damn taco Tuesday ever. Nothing gets me out of bed when im sick. Except these tacos. They must put crack in them bc they’re so addictive and delicious. Compliments to the chefs. All the bartenders here are fabulous and the tacos are to die for.

1.) Just to warm you up: I came here primarily watch my friend perform. Thanks to one of the reviews I was happy they serve food here. 2.) What your eyes may see: Outdoor area is used for their live performances, and the inside is your classic dive bar. They have a pool tables, outside and inside to dine. You can tell it’s dive before evening walking in. 3.) Food: I ordered the buffalo chicken sandwich with a side of their house made chips, and a cup of gumbo. I never had gumbo before but it tasted okay, lots of black pepper was put in here, kielbasa, shrimp and such. My favorite was the sandwich with side of chips. The sandwich was mouthwatering, the bun looked TV commercial perfect, shiny, warm and melt in your mouth. The chicken was tender and juicy. And last but not least, the house made chips were out of this world. I would stop eating Lay’s potato chips if the owner opened up this restaurant in my area. 4.) Bar: I thought the beer selection was decent. A little two roads, a little New England brewing company, not much for bourbon. 5.) Staff: They were okay. 6.) Impressions: Not a good place to hold shows, but they can sure cook up a mean plate of food!

The night crowd is definitely what brings this place down a notch. This is Northern Fairfield County — is there some sort of vast conspiracy to bring every single long-bearded, eyebrow-pierced, cutoff denim-vested, trucker hatted, neck tattooed NASCAR fanatic to The Spot on Saturday nights? They have good bar food, though I wouldn’t call it destination bar food. I guess that’s what’s kept them in business for about 10 years now. I’ll also give them credit for good bartenders, and some cheap beers available for the light-of-wallet(PBR never tasted so good). If you’re actually looking for a memorable meal in downtown Bethel, Putnam House will serve you way better. This is the place for a drunken bender. Which is fine, if that’s your sort of thing.
