Amethyst is a beautiful store with a great assortment of designers and the price range is for every budget! I recently bought my 17 year old daughter a beautiful bracelet and the customer service was excellent! I also love the fact that it is a locally owned store.

I went in to get an earring reset — and due to various circumstances (I think they’re outsourcing to a new jeweler, and he can only handle the additional work outside of his regular workload), my earring ended up getting reset without me approving the estimate and the work. However, when I explained the situation and my frustration about not being given the estimate as promised, one woman (I think one of the owners?) kindly waived the entire charge (the woman behind the counter seemed a bit flummoxed and wasn’t sure what to do). I appreciated the gesture, as it showed a lot of courtesy, which is hard to come by these days. The jewelry is lovely as well — I will return for shopping later!

I love this place! It makes me happy just to walk in and browse around at what is for sale. There are some really amazing pieces of jewelry here by wonderfully talented artists. The only downfall is that I can only dream of making enough money to purchase most of what is here. I totally appreciate the artistry and understand that these people put in a lot of time and energy into making their products, and I do understand that Bethesda is a very affluent area, but it would be nice to see a more varied price range among the products sold here so that a more diverse population could buy jewelry produced by local and celebrity artists!

If you are looking for an amazing piece of jewelry or something really special, you have to go to Amethyst. The owners, Angela and Amy, know every piece… and some of the most beautiful items in the store are made by Amy. They also carry some of the hottest designers being worn by Hollywood. You will want to try on every single piece … I did. Happy shopping!
