I noticed this place had no line and was less than half full. My dinner was dissatisfying. I had a Reuben, hardly any sauerkraut, whish was my main reason for ordering. The turkey was decent, but not fresh. We also ordered carrot cake, and that is my favorite. It was awful. It tasted like it was sitting in a refrigerator too long. My husband and I hate sending anything back, so he ate the cake because he said he paid for it. My stomach was hurting for hours after eating here. He enjoyed his chicken salad very much, as well as the onion rings. The waitress was the only good part of this experience. She was nice and attentive, a young lady with brown hair and glasses. I am not a senior citizen, of which this place had many. Altacacas tend to complain about all food(sorry, but true). This place bites.

Utter crap, ordered the Reuben smothered with cheese, corn beef was awful and it’s way over priced. Service was fair at best, got our food and she never checked back to see if we needed anything. Never again.

I’m going to write a review just because but I mean what is there to really say? Lol it’s a casino restaurant we all know how those are. But the service was friendly and the food was actually very good. If you want a quick bite this is the place to go for a quality meal. The portions are tremendous though so go hungry! And Rey the matzoh ball soup, amazing!

Had the Restaurant Week special. The potato pancake was horrible! An obviously frozen product(too round to be handmade) that was all filler and tasteless in addition to not being hot. Next course was the kielbasa with pierogi, cabbage, onion and brown butter. Again food served warm, not hot, greasy(and not from the butter). If this is what you are presenting for Restaurant Week, it’s kind of sad. Good news! Cheesecake was served cold but tasted stale. Bad experience.

Arrived here tonight and I was greeted by Kevin right away the host! He even remembered me from my last visit what is a great thing because it is a casino and the customer flow should be pretty high! Our server name is Alex and he greeted us right away another great sever it seems! Dawn the manager greeted me not to long after I arrived! I am here tonight with my son inlaw and my oldest daughter having dinner before we hit the casino! Drinks were brought to the table very fast! Plate of pickles on the table very fast great tasting pickles here I do suggest all try them! Got the potato pancake as an appetizer it is pretty good gave both apple sauce and sour cream with it! I should add they do have a take out area for people leaving the casino to take home with them! The restaurant is very clean what is a great sign of staff that cares! Got the brisket it is really good fries are hot my daughter got a cheeseburger son inlaw got a boneless chicken sandwich grilled said it is good too! The brisket is very tender I would recommend it to all to try. The staff here goes all out to make your experience great here! Just ordered the carrot cake it is really good here as in past I would recommend it to all! Today I definitely had 5 star food and service here looks like they are trying to improve the customer experience here!

This is an updated review. Went there a few weeks ago because I had a craving for a New York meat sandwich. This restaurant should not be called«The Carnegie Deli» because it doesn’t come close to the original in NYC. I ordered the Woody Allen. Normally I could not finish this sandwich but this time I was able to because the sandwich was much much smaller than it used t be. the food prep people fold the meat in half on the sandwich to look like it is piled high, but it is really an illusion as the sandwich is half air and half meat. They ran out of pickles too… How the heck does a New York deli run out of pickles? That’s like going to a fast food burger place and they run out of buns-pickles and NYC meat sandwiches go together. Also, my friend ordered the chicken soup. She received a bowl of noodles with TINY bits of chicken and about ¼ cup of broth. Some server came over and dumped the broth into the plate and I asked if my friend could do that since she wanted to eat the noodles on their own-sorry that’s not allowed-the server has to dump the container of salt water broth into the plate. This is NOT how it’s done in NYC-the patron is allowed to add broth as he/she sees fit. The guy or should I say idiot at the cash register was as rude as someone could be. I guess the management thinks they can fool people into thinking that this place is a real Carnegie Deli with their illusions of a sandwich that is mostly hot air.

3 stars for the pastrami, which was delicious. The service however, is horrendous. So aggravated I can’t even get into the detail.

My favorite place to eat at the Sand’s and I think I tried them all. Order a Woody Allen and you won’t be let down. We end up splitting one sandwich between two people and still take home half the meat for the dog. He eats like a king for the next few days. Lots of meat on their sandwiches!

Pastrami on rye was excellent, potato pancake not so much. Service was very good. Took home the torte cheesecake but had a bite first, just yummy.

This place is very noted in NYC& I stopped into her after my massage & haircut & I’ll say this is a good option for a lunch plan. I had in my case chicken strips & fries & this was pretty good & the interior was very much an idea of what I’d find if I was in the original in Manhattan. Next time I’ll try to get myself to try one of their sandwiches or deserts.

We were here for an early lunch on a Saturday. Service was great, fast and friendly. I agree with other reviewers who say that a half sandwich is plenty. And there is no way you are getting corned beef or rye this delicious at Wawa. If you just want to fill your belly, go to Wawa. If you want a great sandwich and sides head to the Carnegie Deli.

Legendary reputation, subpar experience. This restaurant totes«epic sized» sandwiches. The size of the sandwich was crazy big, a meal fit for a very large man. That’s cool and the presentation was nice. The food? Well, it was basically a huge pile of lunch meat on bread. Hard to eat and tasted like a sandwich I could make at home. The service was great, Eddie was very cordial and efficient.

Waited for about an hour to get a hot dog… that pretty much wraps up my experience here… 3 Stars remain because the hot go wasn’t bad tasting…

OK food lackluster service. As a notorious chain, the Carnegie Deli had no gluten free options. I was also advised to be cautious about almost all their menu options aside from the salad. I was also advised that only oil and vinegar would be advisable as a dressing from our waiter. The salad was OK and covered in turkey, ham, and swiss cheese. The quality of the meats was good. The other individuals at my table had BLTs and Turkey Clubs. These sandwiches are huge and great for sharing if there is more than one person there; they are stacked with layers of generous meat and bread. The price matches the size of the sandwiches, so sharing is advisable no matter what you order. Our server stopped by rarely and frequently would walk away before those at our table had a chance to communicate what they wanted. At one point, I had to get up from the table to find the server to get our check and take out containers brought to the table. It was a meh experience and I’ll likely not return to the deli during a future trip to the Sands or recommend Carnegie deli based on the lack of gluten free options and poor service.

You can’t really go into a sandwich joint at a casino and expect a gourmet meal. But this place has a great menu, and the sandwiches and burgers are delicious. The service is extremely slow, though. Fair warning!

This was our second visit. First, the soups are very good and probably worth the visit. We had two on this visit and both were excellent. As for my sandwich? I was disappointed. Very fatty pastrami and it was sorta bland. The cole slow and rye bread it came with were also uninspiring. My dinner companion has a simple salami sandwich and it was also ordinary. Lastly, we sent back an order of fries because they were cold, dry and overcooked. The replacement plate was hot, dry and over cooked.

seriously the best matzo ball soup in the world. My husband and I try to recreate it all the time and just can’t do it! Split a sandwich with someone, don’t eat it yourself [because you can’t]. In america this can feed two people until you’re so stuffed! YUM. go. then gamble all your money away that you saved on that second sandwich

I used to live in NYC. Been to the real one. It is much better. But, not too bad here. Huge portions but the meat is not a tender and ‘melt in your mouth’ here in Bethlehem. I’ll probably go back.

After hearing how great this place was, I decided to come to pick up some knishes from their take-out deli on a Saturday evening. Upon entering, I’m glad I didn’t decided not to dine in. There was a long line outside of the restaurant and the ambiance was not the greatest. Service was not the friendliest, although one woman who worked there was very nice. I noticed while waiting that the bread for the sandwiches did not look too good– another reviewer compared the bread to supermarket variety bread, and they were pretty spot-on. The knishes themselves were delicious, both warm and cold. I would go back specifically to purchase more.

$ 14.95 is a bit steep for a turkey on rye… comes with no sides, just three pickles to share at the table. Yes, it’s a big sandwich, BUT, Nothing about the sandwich really blew me away. Fries were extra. One order of fries was big enough for two people.
