I travel from NYC to this restaurant. It’s that great in my opinion. However, I’ve noticed that the food is getting progressively worse. Very disappointing as this was my favorite restaurant.

After having lived in Philadelphia and eating out recreationally for several years, I can comfortably say that the steak was good. Well seasoned and cooked to the appropriate requested temperature. Creamed spinach, also good. Not blown away by either. Believe it or not Corked has a better steak. But I do appreciate the sauces they provide at no extra cost with each steak. Anyway, my biggest concern was that my dinner companion and mother asked me if the whipped potatoes could have been instant mashed potatoes. Almost tasteless. Additionally the risotto reminded me of those cooking shows where the judges say how hard it is to make a risotto with a good texture. It must be because our risotto was unevenly cooked. Some soft some firm. The other MAJOR problem was an almost 30 min wait after our salad and before the entrée with almost no attention from our server during that time. I can forgive imperfect food to a certain extent but there is NO reason you should be parting with $ 200 and receiving mediocre service. Unforgivable. Well continuing to work backwards my chop salad was a good flavor and texture combination but waterlogged in dressing. Very much a shame. lastly at these prices wouldn’t you love warm bread??? I would have. Not the case here. Please save your hard earned money.

We went this past mother’s day with mom! Lovely hostess. Good waiters. However, what was very disappointing was the fact that this was a STEAKHOUSE and my husband ordered a medium rib eye. The steak was unimpressive for the price and was completely raw on one side. The waiter apologized multiple times and brought the manager over. They reduced the bill accordingly. The other dishes– halibut, calamari appetizer, sweet potatoes with pecans, she crab soup and mushroom bisque were all very good. However, a steak house should serve a spectacular steak and this was sub par.

WOW I wasn’t expecting this place to be as great as it was! If you’re looking for an excellent upscale meal at The Sands Casino, look no further. But along with your appetite, make sure you are winning because this place is expensive for a steakhouse. They have a pretty large Wine, and a full bar. Ordered the Citrus Poached Gulf Shrimp Cocktail and it was really good but they just smear some cocktail sauce on the plate so be sure to ask for some on the side. Also, ordered the meats & cheeses and some I wanted to pick the waitress said stay away from which were the duck prosciutto & Kielbasa. So I went with the House Bacon Rasher, Cave Aged Cheddar, Smoked Mozzarella & Andouille Sausage. The bacon was awesome and the smoked Mozzarella were my 2 favorites. For Dinner we ordered the Bone-in Filet(was on special) and the Bone-In Ribeye. Both steaks were cooked to perfection and had great flavor. I would put their steaks in my top 3 next to Old Homestead and Vic & Anthony’s. For Sides we ordered: Creamed Spinach, Asparagus, & Bourbon Sweet Potatoes. The spinach was good nothing out of the ordinary. The asparagus had great flavor and was cooked perfectly. The sweet potatoes were the best, reminded me of thanksgiving. For Dessert we split a banana cream pie which was the best I EVER had in my life. Overall this was a great dining experience but for 2 people, who just ordered sparkling water and Soda, no alcoholic drinks. I felt $ 300 without a tip was a little on the high side.

It’s expensive! But, the food, service, and everything else is great. I’ve been here twice; once with a large group and one with just a friend. Being a vegetarian, I asked the server what can they accommodate for me and both times he asked the chef and came out with a different dish. Special made just for me. The butternut squash Risotto is just awesome. Potato fries with the truffle awesome is too good. This is a perfect place for a night out. And if you’re into gambling, it’s in a Casino.

This place had the worst service I’ve experienced. They employ a «team waiter» approach which proved to be disastrous. The«team» failed to communicate with one another. Our meal was profoundly late, my wife’s well done steak arrived rare, and we never did get our sides. I’m generally a generous tipper even if the service isn’t great. This was the first time in my life I left no tip. Next time I’ll have dinner on the Jersey side. Never again for this dump.

Received a comp dinner for Emerils Chop House from the Sands Casino. It was a 3 course meal, was a bit reluctant as what would be offered. Was I surprised, bbq shrimp, a filet, and a desert. Even though I like my steak med well it was tender, juicy and delicious. Staff was great and it was a wonderful experience. Will be back again!!!

So we drove 4 and a half hours, specifically to have dinner here and let me tell you; it was well worth it. Why drive over 4 hrs for a steak? Well, because we had a fabulous experience at Emeril’s NOLA steakhouse in the French Quarter in New Orleans, and this was equally great. We arrived right on time for our 9:15 reservation and the hostess, Tricia, who was super friendly, sat us immediately. We were promptly greeted by BOTH our servers, William and Melissa and very quickly there after, we were served super fresh and tasty dinner rolls and herb biscuits with butter. That was certainly a nice set up to an amazing dining experience. I had the 16oz strip steak with asparagus. It was cooked to perfection; remarkably juicy and incredibly flavorful. Definitely one of the best steaks I’ve ever had. My boyfriend had the 22oz bone in ribeye with caramelized onions also cooked perfectly. Let’s just say he loved it, as evidenced by the lone bone left on his plate afterwards. Now both steaks came with a trio of dipping sauces and the steaks were topped off with a crazy good veal glacé. Ok, so bread, steaks, sides. Next question? Desert? Hell yeah!!! You really CAN’T skip desert at Emeril’s restaurants no matter how full you are. We had the bread pudding with a side of ice cream and a PB&J dessert. Both were kicked-up delicious! Needless to say, we waddled outta there. Now at the risk of dying from indigestion, it would’ve made a mighty fine last meal. If you’re in Bethlehem, PA, this is unquestionably a can’t miss restaurant. Just wanted to say thanks to all the staff who were all so wonderful and made this a memorable experience. We will most definitely be going back some day.

I walked into the hostess area and I was greeted right away! I was sat right away! My server brought me water and bread right away! She was very pleasant! I sat at the grill bar area where you can watch your food being made! I ordered the Ribeye and baked potato with butter and sour cream! The bread was fresh! They have the food network playing on one of the TV’s! I really enjoyed that about here! I really like the open Kitchen that you can see everything going on in it! My food was brought out by the madradea My Ribeye was cooked perfect to medium rare! One of the chefs Zach actually checked if everything was ok! It was nice to see he was wanting to know how everything was! The place is very clean! Everyone that I have come in contact with is very pleasant! With the Ribeye they gave 3 sauces with it you can choose from! I will say the steak is seasoned very well! I am an A1 steak sauce type as they say but it definitely was not needed here! Jessie was one of the managers that brought me out my food he did a great job! The chefs and all the prep people do a great job from what I have seen while watching in the kitchen the whole time I have been here! The hostess Trish recommended that I sat at the kitchen bar! Tera was my server she did s great job! I would highly recommend all to sit at the kitchen bar if you are a foodie to see everything in action! The bar stools are actually very comfortable! From the food I had here I would highly recommend it to come here to eat! Great ambience in the restaurant too! With slow jazz ! If you like my reviews please feel free to add me I am a huge foodie and will not steer you wrong! Sorry to say to all my Veteran and active duty friends Sands casino does not give a military discount!

Went here on a Saturday night and they were booked until 945 which worked well because we went to a comedy show before hand. But make a reservation if you plan on going. We didn’t have any apps but for entrée my wife had the yellowfin tuna which was sashimi grade and excellent! She requested it cooled plain with preparation on the side which they were more than happy to do. The piece of tuna was extremely good though. I ordered the 12 oz filet which was 48 $ and obviously looked much smaller than 12 oz. The meat was good but it didn’t blow me away for 48 $. It was served Alla carte, so with a side of Brussels Sprouts, your almost at 60 $ which is why I didn’t get it 5 stars. The service was great and the waitstaff was very accommodation and attentive.

Pre-meal My party of 8 made our reservation earlier in the day for an 8:30 dinner and arrived at 8 to check in and hopefully grab drinks ahead of time at the bar. The bar was full however there were a couple extra seats and tables at the cocktail sections. I made my way to the bar/cocktail area waiting about 15 minutes without service. A little after 8:30 I checked with the hostess in regards to our reservation at which point she informed us we would need to wait an additional 20 minutes. I asked for a cocktail menu from the hostess and without direction our party of 8 was left to stand in the casino with no pre-dinner drinks. Meal Staff was friendly and service was nice. We all came in for the steaks. Most of us ordered the NY Strip at varying temperatures. Not a single person got the correct temperature steak and when i pay $ 70 for a steak dinner I at least expect it to be cooked relatively close to what I ordered. Medium– rare came out well done and was actually painful and tiring to chew it was so dry. The sauces that were advertised to be served with each steak were instead placed on the table to be shared. The whipped potatoes and grilled asparagus were bland and under seasoned. The old-fashioned cocktail was the only thing I actually enjoyed. Overall After we were seated the meal/service took 2.5 hours. Servers were attentive at the beginning and then really weren’t around much to check in. I was extremely disappointed in my experience and would have rather been anywhere else to eat.

My family and I were in town, unfortunately for a funeral, and happen to be staying at the Sands. First off, let me say that if I were rating this restaurant solely for the staff I would have given it a solid 5*, unquestionably. From the moment we walked in until the moment we left they were as professional and friendly as any I have encountered. And my hat(or toque) off to Patrick(chef in front of the chef’s counter) who could not have been better! We started with an amuse that was a play on a Caprese salad of burrata, cherry tomatoes, basil and garlic croutons. A very flavorful beginning. Next up was another bite that was compliments of Patrick. It was a «scrapple» that he had us taste after my son asked Patrick if the plate he was assembling had scrapple on it. Seriously, what 14 year old can look at a piece of scrapple and positively identify it as scrapple? Let me tell you, this was not your fathers scrapple! Indeed, wonderfully crispy outside and velvety smooth inside, not laden with corn meal or barley like some can be. The reason? This was a confit of pork and duck scrapple! Oh my, delicious! Another starter was the foie gras preparation. Now, if this piece of foie was perfectly cooked and of larger portion(for $ 20 you should have a piece that larger than a half dollar shouldn’t you?) it could have been one of the best I have ever had. It was accompanied by a curried carrot cake and this schmear of a homemade ketchup that was slightly spicy and delicious, and not at all cloying and acidic like commercial ketchup is. A wonderful flavor and balance. The bbq shrimp and grits was ok, not what I would consider New Orleans bbq shrimp, which is what it was billed as. Flavor was good, grits expertly cooked and flavored while the two(yes only 2) decent sized gulf shrimp were slightly over cooked. My wife’s wedge salad was very good with all the usual ingredients working in concert and topped with crisp onion strings. A great take on the original wedge. The same cannot be said of the Charleston She Crab soup. Personally I thought this was a bit of a disaster. Tasting a bit of low tide with a grit that was permeating each bite(not sand like bite but more akin to a grit texture but smaller) along with a small smattering of fresh crab, this soup was a huge disappointment. For dinner my one daughter got the chicken and waffles(excellent), my son the hanger steak and lobster Mac n cheese(hanger a tad stringy due mostly to over cooking I believe, while Mac n cheese was very good with good pasta/lobster ratio), and my daughter and I splitting the 36oz 60 day dry aged porterhouse. I was very excited about this steak. Now don’t get me wrong, this was a very good steak. But for $ 80 I expected better. While the edges of the steak had the beautiful funk of a dry aged steak, the rest of the steak seemed a tad bland. The meat next to the bone was perfectly cooked but the edges were pushing gray and not what I would expect. So much so that the filet side was a tad over done. The flavor was very good but nowhere near worth the $ 80 price tag. All in all an excellent evening and a real shout out to the staff at Emerils Chop House, with special mention to Patrick, you are a rock star! If broken down by service and food, give the service 5* and the food 4*(I don’t think the food was quite 4 but by no means a 3).

Nicest restaurant in Sands Bethlehem. Cozy and soft décor, and the servers are attentive. Appetizers were a little disappointing, and a tad overpriced. We ordered froi gras($ 20-ish) has just one slice on top of a round carrot cake, and it was unremarkable. The steaks were the highlight of our night. My husband even claimed it’s the best he has ever had! Four of us shared 3 entrée dishes, the rib-eye, lamb chop and t-bone porterhouse. Perfect temperature and great taste, except for the porterhouse was a little bit dry! Portion was huge and more than enough for us. Will definitely revisit!

I went here for the first time last night at Sands. I had high hopes for the place and higher hopes when I looked at the a la carte menu, where you will pay no less than $ 40 for an 8 oz steak or $ 10 for a side of vegetable. The appetizer, an order of shrimp cocktail came with 3(count ‘em-1,2,3) and was $ 20. Yes the shrimp were large but the chef must have forgotten he or she already added salt and did it again. If not the person has a bad sense of humor because we had to wipe the salt off the shrimp. But hey, accidents happen. I was impressed with the size of the shrimp and the steak was very good. The Brussel sprouts were cooked well and were really good. I just do not think it was worth the price. I was very disappointed because after seeing the prices I was so sure that the food would be phenomenal and it just wasn’t. It was good but not«omg» good. I left feeling underwhelmed and was hungry an hour later since the appetizer and vegetable side was just barely enough for 2 people to share. I don’t mind paying for tiny portions if it is an excellent meal. I won’t be going back sadly because it just isn’t worth it. Will have to find another spot for dinner and drinks before hitting the casino with the hubby. The other thing that was extremely off putting is that we sat for 30 minutes waiting for our 3 shrimp appetizer. Then another 35 for our meal. Emeril, ease up on the prices or at least let the entrée come with a side salad or something.

We went to Emeril’s for a birthday dinner celebration on a Saturday night. We made a reservation and showed up five minutes before our reservation. We waited about 15 minutes to be seated(not sure why since there were several open tables). The food: We ordered the crab cakes and the crab soup for our appetizers. The crab cake was delicious! I highly recommend it! The crab soup was ok… nothing special. We both order a filet, which was cooked to perfection and tasted wonderful. For our sides, we ordered the lobster mac and cheese, asparagus and the whipped mashed potatoes. Everything was very good, but the sides can be a bit on the pricey side($ 20 for the lobster mac and cheese). However, the servings are quite large(definitely shareable). We were so stuffed after the dinner we didn’t order any dessert. However, the waitress heard me mention it was my boyfriend’s birthday and they brought him out a little dessert tray that said happy birthday! The service was good. I thought it was nice that the waitress brought out the birthday dessert tray. They were two of them attending to our table and were both very friendly and checked in with us frequently. Overall, it was a good experience. It’s Emeril’s, so you have to expect to pay more. I would go back for a celebration dinner, but probably wouldn’t just stop in for dinner randomly. There are plenty of other places close by that are just as good, if not better, for half the price. But overall, good experience!

Went to this place for my birthday(back in early October). Went with my date & she made reservations here. In all honesty I wasn’t super keen on the idea because I felt like it would be one of those«you’re paying for the name» type places but I was dead wrong. Even though the prices can get up there it was affordable & not astronomical. The staff is pretty friendly, thought they’d be a little snobby. They had to be reminded a out a couple little things here or there but that wasn’t really a big deal. The appetizers were pretty good. Ordered the«drink of the day». It didn’t have a name so we named it the Bob Allen. Fitting & an inside joke but regardless, it was awesome. A mix of scotch, spiced rum, gin, ginger beer & sour mix. Might be forgetting something but it has been almost 2 months. Now, the entrée. I had a steak that was perfectly cooked. The inside was the right pink hue. Wasn’t overdone at all. I’ve never had a better steak anywhere else since I’ve been going out for a while now(currently 33). Only drawback I have is sides aren’t included. Other than that, this place was great. Strongly recommend this spot if you go to the Sands in Bethlehem, PA or are in the area. –Ootz

If you’re looking for good eats while at The Sands Casino, look no further. But along with your appetite, bring your wallet. Wine list has some nice selections. Bar is extensively stocked. I wasn’t a fan of their Old Fashioned though… too sweet. Trying too hard with a classic is a bad thing, less is more. Raw bar tower was a steep $ 165. King crab legs were a nice portion size and delicious, Lobster was barely a 11⁄8 pounder. At the end of the day, the plateau served its purpose. They don’t have a porterhouse for two option, so my girl and I split the 26 ounce Dry-Aged porterhouse. Which to be honest is more than enough for two people so it actually worked out perfectly. They sliced it up for us. And it was maybe the most tender steak I’ve ever had. On the downside, they let it sit a little too long, so it was a little cold when it came to the table. To the point where the truffle butter on top of it wouldn’t even melt. No sizzling plate or fancy presentation. So that kinda sucks. But the steak itself was great. The sides were sides. All a la carte. All good, but nothing out of the ordinary. Menu lacked any signature Emeril flare to it. I ate at his restaurant NOLA in New Orleans and I was blown away. This I would categorize as your run of the mill high end steakhouse. It did nothing to be unique or separate itself from the pack, but it certainly was a quality meal.
