Food is decent, but the staff is standing around, the management was drinking, and they had multiple items on the menu that were unavailable. Great location for a front…

I loved this place! I came here upon a recommendation from the hotel I was staying at(Petit Ermitage) and was really surprised. I ordered a blood orange drink that was UH-mazing. I also wanted to eat the gnocchi, but didn’t want the duck sauce, so I asked if they would substitute for a regular tomato sauce, and they had no problem with that! They also gave me a BOWL of Parmesan to sprinkle on my food how I wanted, which was nice in comparison to how other restaurants ask you if you’d like FRESH parmesan.(I like to sprinkle mine all over, and over ANDOVERAGAIN. Lol don’t judge me!) Great for intimate entertaining, business meetings Etc. I HIGHLY recommend this place!

Upon entering, the restaurant is modern and beautiful. The vibe is fairly sedate and it was somewhat empty for a large space. Service was efficient but a bit hurried and lacked any warmth or charm. APPETIZER Pizza — wild mushrooms, prosciutto, bacon, feta– $ 24 Thin crust, fairly soft and soggy. Flavors were nice. If you are looking for a Neapolitan pizza, this is not it and not worth the price. ENTREE SHORTRIBMALTAGLIATI pasta — tomato braised short rib, arugula, feta cheese — $ 24 The pasta was overdone and not al dente. The components of the sauce were flavorful. The short rib meat was very tender. Nothing special though. MASCARPONEAGNOLOTTI pasta — butter parmesan sauce, veal stock reduction — $ 19 This dish was interesting with the mascarpone stuffed within the pasta. This was more al dente than the other pasta dish. However, it was far from the best pasta dish I’ve had. I was expecting much more from this high end eatery, especially since it was touted as one of the best new restaurants. The prices do not justify the quality of this food, and the service leaves a lot to be desired. Skip it and go elsewhere for much better Italian fare. parking — free or inexpensive lots closeby

Quiet, great service, good drinks and quality food. Worth a stop in you’re in the Beverly Hills shopping district.

Worst service in the history of service. We were seated and it took more than 20 minutes for the server to take our order. God forbid we needed a refill or anything from our server, he was constantly nowhere to be found. At one point I did find him. He was very very preoccupied with folding napkins for 5 minutes not once glancing over to see if we were trying to capture his attention or god forbid coming up to us to check on us. Enough about the service. Now the food: Doma is listed as an Italian restaurant on Unilocal but serve Japanese Himachi? A little confusing. Also when have you heard of an Italian restaurant not having vodka sauce? The Japanese Himachi was atrocious. They put«smelt egg» on top but it tasted terrible. Like tiny plastic balls. Usually Risotto is rice, right? Not in these Japanese Italian fusion gem of a restaurant! It’s balls! I’m sure it was some type of a grain but it wasn’t rice! Nope… Balls. I’m starting to see the theme here. Lol. This restaurant is a perfect recommendation if someone you absolutely hate asks you where they should go for great Italian food. After they come here, trust me they’ll never bother you by asking for a recommendation again.

We came on a Saturday night… There was terrific acoustic guitar and its such a nice place, was impressed with the ambience. Food was good — meatballs were delish, but expensive at $ 14. Pizza was good but the Mascarpone was just ok — pasta was fresh but the dough was maybe a little Undercooked. Service was awesome, good people. Great spot.

The service at Doma for the most part was good. They waiter paid attention to the details. As far as the food goes I had the linguine with mixed fish which included shrimp, salmon and one other kind of fish which I don’t recall. For me the problem was the lack of seasoning on the fish. I ordered some extra marinara sauce to help with the situation but considering the fact it lack garlic and seasonings on the fish, shrimp and the pasta the marinara sauce it didn’t help that much. It’s basically a strong 3 ½ stars. I may go back in the future but I’m not running there.

The food was average and the service was ok, however it was extremely overpriced. We were charged an additional $ 7 to the $ 38 skirt steak for substituting asparagus for potatoes. Also, we were charged $ 4 for tea and an additional $ 4 to refill the hot water? Really? I will not be going back!

We were walking around Beverly Hills and we were hungry. Looked for Italian somewhere nearby and came across this. Figured we’d give it a shot. Strolled over and glad we did. It’s just off the beaten path, so it’s not in the heart of BH but rather one block over. We elected to eat outside and it was perfect weather. We had a bit of a sinking sensation in our stomach when we sat down, because the place was almost empty, and it was 6:30 on a Saturday night. Then we had a nice waiter, Oscar, start to serve us. Oscar was Hispanic, not Italian, and we again began to wonder if we had made a good choice(same reaction we would have had if there was someone French serving us at a Chinese restaurant). Our fears were quickly eased. First, the menu, although on one page, had quite a few options. I selected the Salmon had something like a 21 flavor rub/sauce to it. My wife had this unusual pasta dish called Mascarpone Agnolotti. According to Oscar, it was house specialty. My wife loved it. Indicated the flavor sort of exploded in your mouth. She also thought the Dirty Martini was excellent, and it came with Blue Cheese olives, which she loves. Kids had pasta with butter(my daughter indicated it was good :-)), and a pizza with Olives(my son liked it but indicated it wasn’t the best he ever had, but we think that is because it was more gourmet than he is used to). Outside was nice. Not the people watching you’d get if you were on the main drags but still fun. And by the time we left, the place had filled up quite a bit. Price was really quite reasonable, and as for the Service, everyone was nice and attentive, and Oscar was an outstanding waiter. We’d go back.

We came here with a big group for a birthday celebration after seeing the restaurant on «Best New Restaurant.» Our experience was that the food was decent, and the service was average. There were times when the service seemed exceptional, but then at the end of the meal we sat around waiting quite a while. In terms of food, I liked everything we ordered. I had a bite of the meatball, which was great(could use a little more of the delicious marinara sauce!), the calamari(very Asian inspired, but nothing of note), uni pasta(a very healthy amount of spice so beware!), a pizza, and the beef cheeks(beef cheeks were nice and tender with potato purée). I also had a cocktail that was pretty standard. There’s a nice ambience and there was a guitar musician playing throughout the night. Restrooms were located on a ginormous empty second floor.

This review is for the lack of service from the bartender. Took a very dear friend to Doma for a drink after work & the bartender completely ignored us. I flagged down what appeared to be a hostess or an assistant manager to see if she could rectify the lack of service. She did nothing but say he was busy? There was no one else at the bar & only one party of 6 to 8 dining there. After waiting patiently for 10 minutes with no water or offer to take our drink orders, I told the same hostess/assistant manager person that we were going elsewhere for a drink. I also mentioned that I would speak to the manager as I was a long-time client. There’s a reason this place is doomed to fail. Customer service is priority number one. We took our business down the street to Ocean Prime & had the most amazing bar service & the ambience was 100% better. Sorry, Doma, you blew it with me & I will spend my money where I am valued as a customer! Lack of service gets zero stars!!!

My favorite place for Italian food! I honestly don’t know why it’s not more packed? The food is straightforward, great Italian food. Great service and great space. First we started with pizza, as a pizza snob, I couldn’t get over the amazing crust, the crispy sage, hint of truffle oil and prosciutto. Then we ordered the mascarpone agnolotti, doesn’t look like anything special but these little pillows of cheese we amazing, so amazing we ordered a second plate. Then it was on to lamb chops and seafood and a seasonal dish of short ribs and butternut squash gnocchi. Tasty, fresh and well paired sauces. After stuffing ourselves we couldn’t think about dessert, but I waiter insisted he bring out his favorite one. We couldn’t say no, so out comes a beautiful cheesecake. It not something I would ever order, but it was the best cheesecake I’ve ever had! I’ve been back many times and it’s always a hit.

Very disappointed. After seeing this restaurant compete on a recent television show, I decided to make a reservation to dine there prior to going to see a show on Saturday night at the Wallis Annenberg Theater. We arrived on time for our 6:15pm reservation. The maitre d’ greeted us with an odd question: «Gentlemen, what can I do for you?» I would have expected more of a «Welcome to DOMA! Two for dinner?» given that we had just walked in the front door. Even my partner commented on the odd greeting after we were seated. After I told the maitre d’ that we had dinner reservations under my name, he seated us immediately. There were maybe 5 or 6 other tables seated at that time(less than half the restaurant). The service staff brought us waters fairly promptly. And then, a few minutes later, they brought bread and bottles of olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Then we waited. And waited. During our wait, I had a lot of time to observe the room — it’s quite attractive, with high ceilings and an open kitchen, separated from the dining room by glass. There were several service staff standing around, clearing and setting tables, and bringing water and bread. Finally, about 15 minutes after being seated, I asked a water server if we had a waiter. He ran off to find out. A few minutes later, a pleasant young man showed up at our table. He asked for our drink orders — I ordered a martini and my friend asked for a taste of the Sauvignon Blanc. It felt like it took close to 10 more minutes for those drink orders to arrive. I’m not sure what the waiter was doing during that time, as it appeared that he only had one other table in his station. The waiter then took our dinner orders, informing us that they were out of the calamari(which we had planned to order as an appetizer). He said that the shipment had not arrived(!), and it was their most popular dish. So, instead we ordered the tempura shrimp as an appetizer, which was quite good. While we were waiting for our entrees, a bread server stopped by to ask if we wanted more bread(I accepted, and more bread was delivered to our table). I has the beef cheek as my entrée — it was tender and delicious. Well-seasoned. But the potato purée underneath was quite salty. My partner ordered the gnocchi & duck. When ordering, he asked the waiter if the gnocchi was light and the waiter replied that it was.(Note: my partner is pretty picky about gnocchi — he likes it «pillowy».) The gnocchi was served in a small iron pan, and it turned out to be fairly dense. The duck, however, was flavorful and well-cooked. NOTE: after we were served our entrees(by a runner, not by our waiter), no one came by to check on us(other than the water server). In fact, we barely saw our waiter for most of the time we were there. When it came time to pay the bill, I mentioned to the waiter that DOMA’s web site offers a 10% discount if you show your theater tickets. He said«yeah, we’ll honor that.» He summoned the manager/maitre d’, who came over and said«what have you got?»(again, I would have expected something more like«I understand you’re taking advantage of our pre-theater discount…»). But he did deduct the 10% after I showed him the tickets for the show we were going to see. So, in summary — the food was mostly good, but the service was dreadful. Fine dining restaurants should train their front of room staff on how to properly address their patrons, and the waiters need to be much more attentive. What good does it do to have several water-and-bread servers standing around if the waiters are inattentive? I tip based on the level of service received. Since the water-and-bread servers and busboys did such a good job, I left a little under 15% of the pre-discounted total so they wouldn’t get shafted(I normally tip 20% or more). I would not recommend this restaurant. We eat out quite frequently, and have rarely received such poor service.

Great little cappuccino while waiting for friends. This seems like a very hip place with lots of regulars who know each other and the wait staff. It was fun to sit and watch golf on tv in a «cheers» like community.

I took advantage of a Bravo promotion on Postmates for free delivery and boy was the food good. I ordered the Quinoa Salad with dressing on the side and their take on the Margherita pizza. The quinoa salad was the real standout, just absolute fantastic, enough texture and yet not overly crunchy and full of flavor. The cheese was the perfect pick and the feta melded well with the other flavors, though if there was any knock on the salad there was a bit too much cheese. I’m excited to get an opportunity to visit for a meal in the restaurant and try some other things on the menu, but until then I’ll have to make do with the great food I just ate in the pleasure of my own home.

Before Christmas, a friend of mine and I stopped in here because he had two specialty cocktail drink tickets to use. Of course, we wound up ordering food as well, which turned out to be a really good thing! I had a vodka martini and my friend had something else that I don’t remember(sorry friend). The vodka martini was a good call! For food, we had the prosciutto pizza, which was to die for! Bar staff was friendly and chatted with us while we ate. Loved the vibe and décor and will definitely return.

What a great gem in Beverly Hills. Unpretentious and great Italian Food. Chef Dustin Trani is a genius. You can watch him command his kitchen with such confidence, you know you’re going to enjoy your meal!!! The restaurant is easy to access in the evenings. This part of Beverly Hills is not too hard to find parking, or just Valet. This is the more quiet part of «The Triangle» in Beverly Hills. The atmosphere is great. There is a bar right next to the open kitchen. Stunningly beautiful place to meet people. I saw lots of locals coming in and out for a drink. The dining room area is cozy and comfortable. The food is spectacular. I had a Pizza with potatoes, Pancetta and Truffle Oil. All I can say is that the first bite of that freshly baked pizza was so incredible, I did a double take! My wife ordered the Cod. Very subtle and nothing over powering. You could really taste the essence of the cod and how it differs from other fish. I ordered the Spanish Octopus Gnocchi. Wow. I’ve never had anything quite like it before. Very strong yet earthy flavors. I could have eaten another plate of this. One of the best Gnocchi dishes around. I ventured upstairs to the bathroom. They have lots of nice spaces upstairs and even a little sitting area. I think the upstairs is used for banquets. Even though there was one going on, downstairs It never felt rushed or harried! Once again, Dustin is in control of his brigade!!! Ivan the server is fantastic. Made me feel at home and like family even though he was super busy!!! BRAVO!!!

I was not impressed at all with this place. I came here with a large group for an event, so I tried the fixed menu. Overall, the food wasn’t bad. Really quite ordinary. The bread, pizza assortment, and burrata were just OK. The greens salad was large, but unremarkable. I asked my waiter for a recommendation of a good entrée, and he said King Salmon. Again, not bad, but certainly nothing special. In terms of dessert, I felt that the chocolate mousse cake was not quite sweet enough, but the lemon meringue was way too sweet. My main complaint about this place is the service. So slow. Took 3 hours to serve 3 courses. And the restaurant was nowhere near full.

My husband and I have been seeking out good Italian restaurant in our neighborhood. We love Madeo but it is little pricy and e. baldi is pretty good as well, but their staff can be snobby sometimes. So we came to try Doma. I have mix feelings about this place. First of all, the valet guy was nowhere to be found. We had to wait for him forever.(He wasn’t there, either when we went to get our car back after dinner…) The servers were attentive in the beginning, perhaps there were only two other groups besides us, but towards the end of our meal they kind of abandoned us. It literally took me a while to flag someone down for our check. In regards to their food, the pastas were good. I had their king crab linguini and it was delicious. I am glad that the pasta was al dente. I also had Japanese Hamachi which I enjoyed, but my husband didn’t care much for it because of its minty flavor. Next time when we come back we want to try their pizzas. Meanwhile, our quest for good Italian restaurant will continue…

I don’t get the high rating. It’s a high 3 star, at best. The service was not the highlight, which many of my friends have experienced. The best part was sitting on the boardwalk(although I had to deal with a panhandler), and the cookie plate for $ 4. Being left alone with little attention and service had its positives, giving my friend and I plenty of time to talk without interruptions/help. I ordered a chicken caesar salad($ 16). While it was a nice portion and I ate it, the salad was doused in dressing, and it tasted more like mayo than it did a caesar. If I wanted the extra calories, I would have ordered pasta. The inside is nice. Predominately grey, it is stylish and chic. Would I go back? Yes, but not running.
