I have been a client of Ryuji for 12 years. He is the most professional, lovely stylist who does a++++++++ straightening and haircutting for me. He is perfectionist, makes you feel completely comfortable and his work is always impeccable. It’s a treat to come here and spend a few hours. There is no one in this city who can compare to the straightening technique he uses. You will flip out at how amazing your hair looks when you leave!

I’ve been coming to Jeff for Japanese straightening for 5 years now and the condition of my hair has drastically improved ever since. It is shinier, appears healthier, has grown tremendously (for someone with really curly and frizzy hair) and is more disciplined. Hair straightening and re-​texturing products can seem a bit intimidating and outright scary sometimes when you hear about other people’s horror stories. If you’ve been looking into getting this done, you needn’t look any further. Jeff and the other stylists at Ref Salon know exactly what they’re doing. They are professional, punctual, attentive, detail-​oriented and knowledgeable. Plus, they get the entire thing done pretty quickly with the help of their assistants, who are also very professional and nice. All around excellent experience.

Only Jeff can turn what normally looks like Albert Einstein’s hair into smooth, sleek perfection! If you have never used Yuko systems for straightening you are missing out! Thanks again to Jeff for making it possible to take my hair out of its ponytail and let it be free again!

RYUJI is amazing! I have had my hair straightened at other salons, but he does the best job by far! I had breakage from other stylist, but never an issue since I started coming here! I drive up from San Diego and it is worth it!

I’ve been going here for a year now, I believe. I get my touch ups every 6 months for Japanese straightening. It’s burns a huge hole in my wallet but its so worth it. I have super super curly hair but Ryuji makes it very sleek, manageable, shiny, and thin. I also have super long hair and touch ups and straightening don’t take as long as I thought. He also makes me feel comfortable with anything to talk about, and always offers you drinks throughout the 4 hour process (which isn’t bad amount of time). The bathroom is very clean. My hair is much more healthier than when I used to get relaxers. It also doesn’t frizz up at all in humid conditions. And if it gets wet, it’ll dry very straight. Just need heat on my relaxed ends. Seriously consider it. The prices are cheaper than the salons that charge thousands e_​e. I can’t see anyone else doing my hair, because he knows what he’s doing and manages my hair type with care. It takes alot to find a trusty hair stylist who knows your needs. PS sorry I never tip (broken heart) But my gratitude is in my heart for the hard work you guys do. I also like that the salon is quite private. There’s nothing more annoying and awkward than seeing people walk past the salon window staring at your hair in this big goopy mess. So that adds to my comfort as well. They will pamper you. The towels keep you very dry, even if your hair is past your back. I’ve had issues at other salons where my clothes would be soaked because of the towels being a problem. The chairs are very comfortable. Other salons I have to strain my neck to keep it upright for the stylist. I never get burns on my scalp, like a relaxer would. If you want straight healthy hair with zero effort to maintain, get Japanese straightening. My hair is much healthier compared to my ends. I thought it was just a gimmick, but it really is a huge difference regardless of how curly your hair is. My hair is much healthier too because I use less heat with this straightening treatment. I can continue to grow it even more long! It’s worth the drive. Keep up the good work and thanks for taking care of my hair, it’s my comfort blanket.

I can’t dream of going anywhere else! I have been going to Jeff for years now. Went to Ref Salon for the first time. Doesn’t really matter where he’s located as long as he keeps doing wonders to my hair. I love not having to straighten my hair which will take a long time. Highly recommend this place and highly recommend Jeff. I would give more stars if I could.

If you are looking for the best Japanese straightening treatment, look no further! Ryuji has been doing my hair for the past 13 YEARS, and I will not let anyone else even try. He does the most amazing job each and every time, and I highly recommend him!

I have been getting my hair straightened by Jeff for two years now (since he was at Yuko.) He is great! The rest of the staff are great! They are always flexible with appointment times and do a fantastic job. Every time I get my hair straightened here it is like a miracle! I highly recommend Ref Salon.

Wow! i went in for my appointment yesterday at the new place and its beautiful serene private and relaxing. IT DOESNT GET BETTER THEN THIS FOR SOFT SHINY SILKY STRAIGHT LOCKS! ive been going to Ryuji for 11 years and im thrilled he opened his own place with his team. 11 years of thanks people! :)
