Disappointing and gross. My friend ordered a burger here and found a long hair in it. Finding a hair in your food is always a disgusting ordeal, but the way this restaurant handled it was the worst part. After finding the hair, my friend asked for half of a sandwich since she did not want to eat the rest of the burger(for good reason). However, the woman who got her the sandwich and apologized for the hair, then proceeded to charge her for the more expensive burger. Restaurant standard: don’t charge your customers for food with hair in it. Skip this restaurant; the food and atmosphere is mediocre and even the service sucks.

What a gem! This place is so cozy with that diner ambience feel. I love it! But the food! Maaaan… The food is so good! The 1 hour drive is so worth it!!! Mari beef is ridiculously good! Pastrami, chicken quesadilla and breakfast burrito… I can go on and on. Yes! We ate THAT much!

We ate at Mari Café and had the best experience. It’s a family environment run by amazing people with great food! Must go!

I’m a newbie to this spot. I had business in Beverly Hills and needed a quick bite on the cheap. Mari was the recommendation. This place has a greasy spoon vibe which I love. I wanted breakfast for lunch and was suggested the breakfast burrito. Since it was lunch it would take a minute to prepare a full scale breakfast assault. I had the chorizo breakfast burrito. It was the best I’ve had. Not that I’m an aficionado. Chorizo on Robertson? Kind of an oxymoron. And that’s precisely why I will come back.

Comfy place to eat and the food was delicious. Just heard through the grapevine that they’re having AYCE brunch buffet on Saturday. Will definitely have to try it out.

We ordered sandwiches, and they were nothing short of delicious. The service was great, to the point, friendly and super quick at getting food out. Street parking isn’t the easiest, but definitely worth it. Great casual atmosphere, will come again.

Service isn’t the greatest here… actually it’s pretty bad. Never crowded when I go either. It’s almost like fast food. except you have to wait for the bill, sometimes it’s shoved in your face while you’re eating. Prices are decent, food isn’t bad… but the cheeseburgers are kinda strange… it’s something about the meat. The veggie wrap is good, and the Caesar wrap is okay. They make the food pretty quickly, and the portions are a bit small, but it’s kind of a diner, so that’s expected I guess for what you’re paying. All around not bad, but I don’t think I’ll be coming anymore. I would rather tip a delivery guy from a better restaurant and pay roughly the same. It’s worth having a couple times when you don’t want to wait for food and you’re close by within walking distance.

Been there twice and both times they didn’t have what I ordered… and they didn’t bother telling me until after 15 mins of waiting for my order… unbelievable…the worst service… luckily the deli next door. has good sandwiches… never going back.

Very decent food with a pretty extensive menu. The food has really never been more than decent to me. I would recommend eating there and not getting delivery. The food does not travel well(sandwiches, etc end up soggy). Super friendly staff. Get the Mari Beef(although I wish they would give you MORE beef).

Lovely family-owned place. Gets four stars for their selection of salads(and for their Reuben, which my husband loves).

Want to provide some context to my 5-star rating. This is a neighborhood joint. If I didn’t live nearby I probably wouldn’t make the trip out here. That said — for what it is — a diner, it is high quality. Food preparation is high quality, clean, and tasty. If you are looking for hit the spot diner food, this is the place. Especially if you live nearby. We had a great experience and plan on making it a Beverly Hills staple. Especially for lazy Saturday mornings. UPDATE: Since this review we’ve been back a number of times and the quality never disappoints. Really consistent delicious food. Well done Mari Café!!!

I’m sitting in Mari’s Café right now USINGTHE WiFI — so they do have WiFi service(it states on this listing that they don’t). I’m waiting for my car to be serviced around the corner and my service advisor recommended this place, in walking distance, as a good alternative to the lounge which is bustling with people waiting for their cars. I didn’t plan on it, but I went ahead and ordered breakfast. It’s decent«diner food» with an atmosphere that’s right in line with the decent prices. Nothing special, but DECENT. I wouldn’t go out of my way to come here other than if I was in the area and needing a place to park myself for a while.

It’s absolutely horrfic. I don’t know how they are able to stay open and afford the BH rent. I ordered the fish in caper sauce and I literally had 2 put 2 lemons, salt and pepper and drown every peace in siracha so that it was barely bearable for me to swollow. I mean I had already paid for the food. The customer service is awful too… it’s like they don’t even know what you are saying. They obviously don’t listen. We work across the street so this place would be convenient if they actually had good service. Stay away! theirs so many other options around here for you to get a $ 20 lunch meal.

Fried chicken, wings, and the breakfast are good. The Teriyaki chicken is strange. A chicken breast cut in cubes and dumpbed in sauce? Some dishes are really good some suck.

Amazing! We had a Salmon Benedict, fried chicken breakfast platter, and a breakfast burrito. They were all unbelievably good. I wish I lived closer, but, I’ll find reasons to come back just for the salmon beni. I’m already craving more.

Had lunch here with a old college friend from UCLA. First we were greeted and made to feel at home… but possibly because I think the place is owned/run by Filipinos – so naturally I got that Filipino hospitality going on. I was really surprised at the menu – very neo-American fused with Asian flare. I also saw that there is a Tosilog item! For you non-Filipino American folk, tosilog basically is a traditional Filipino breakfast with tocino(cured pork) with garlic fried rice and eggs. My friend and I decided on going the typical Pinoy route and how the Bulgogi plate with salad. It was pretty good – good portion and great side of salad. i would probably take my mom here next time since my family lives not too far from Beverly Hills/Robertson area.

I’m totally confused about the stellar ratings Mari has gotten. I went here on Sat for brunch and was disappointed. Maybe it’s a better lunch place during the week? I had the loco moco — the patty was beyond dry and the gravy was bland, yet somehow managed to be a bit sour(as in might have gone off sour). My husband got the Beverly Chicken Sandwich and said the bread was stale/hard and the chicken very dry and tasteless. My sister got the tuna melt and said it was lukewarm and mediocre in taste. Kids got ramen and I had a bite. It’s top ramen(or similar) with some frozen veggies thrown in. There were about four dumplings(frozen) in the dumpling ramen. There were a handful of small frozen shrimp in the Shrimp Ramen. The kids liked their ramen(who doesn’t like Top Ramen) but adults know better than to pay $ 9 for something that costs about $ 1.00 max(even with the veggies/protein). Overall — would not go back.

This place had outstanding prior reviews, which is why I came to check it out with three friends. I like new businesses and tend to give them the benefit of the doubt when it comes to small service thing. After all, people have different experiences when they go at different times and with different servers, but unfortunately, there were so many errors this time that I could not fairly give it three stars without changing my standards for 3 stars. First, the parking situation can be annoying because all the meters are only for one hour. When I arrived at the place, there was only one family there. I sat down and got the menu. My friends arrived 5 minutes later. As we chatted and decided on menu items, no one came over to offer us water or take drink orders. In fact, before anyone came over to take our order 20 minutes later, the table that walked in after us had their food served. Not sure what was going on there. There were 3 people working, but really only 3 parties in the restaurant. When the server finally came over to take our order, there was a language issue… which was fine… but it was to such an extent that it seemed like this was the first time he had heard of the items on the menu. Before our food was served, he and someone else came back to ask for clarification 2 – 3 times. When the food arrived, it was fine. The food is not bad. Nothing special either. However, I opened my utensil pack and the fork had dried egg yolk on it… The price is good for the food you get, and it appeared fresh and well-prepared, but the service and professionalism needs to be improved. The place has a bare bones ambience, and the feel of a family-run place. I really hope they stream-line the restaurant, because it is very slow. I wonder if our server was substituting for someone, but I think you will lose customers with this type of service.

I was ready to eat at Perrins and meet again the ever happy and nice Jenny after a long time, but when I get there, the place is under new management and now called«Mari Café and Grill». The place is more neat, organized and welcoming, the menu is almost the same, the cook and the delivery guy is the same but no Jenny. The new owner is Filipina and has a Filipino waiter so when I sat down, they recommended some all time favorite Filipino dishes that are new in their menu. I got the«Tocilog»(Tocino Pork BBQ with rice and egg) it was good, almost the same as the one we eat in the Philippines. I heard there’s another«Silog» in the menu, a seasoned fish maybe a bangus or tilapia, I don’t remember but i’m sure it’s good. The service is really good, very attentive and friendly. The second time, I ordered for delivery and tried the Bulgogi Hoagie Wrap. man. I am addicted. Whenever I plan to try something else I always end up with the Bulgogi. I definitely recommend Mari’s and they also have smoothies and rootbeer float and ice cream. Their food tastes really good and the price is decent.
